Ζαχαρίας 1

1 Εν τω ογδόω μηνί, τω δευτέρω έτει του Δαρείου, έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς Ζαχαρίαν, τον υιόν του Βαραχίου υιού του Ιδδώ, τον προφήτην, λέγων,

In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,

2 Ο Κύριος ωργίσθη μεγάλως επί τους πατέρας σας.

The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.

3 Διά τούτο ειπέ προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Επιστρέψατε προς εμέ, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, και θέλω επιστρέψει προς εσάς, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.

Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.

4 Μη γίνεσθε ως οι πατέρες σας, προς τους οποίους οι πρότεροι προφήται έκραξαν λέγοντες, Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων. Επιστρέψατε τώρα από των οδών υμών των πονηρών και των πράξεων υμών των πονηρών· και δεν υπήκουσαν και δεν έδωκαν προσοχήν εις εμέ, λέγει Κύριος.

Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.

5 Οι πατέρες σας που είναι, και οι προφήται μήπως θέλουσι ζήσει εις τον αιώνα;

your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?

6 Αλλ' οι λόγοι μου και τα διατάγματά μου, τα οποία προσέταξα εις τους δούλους μου τους προφήτας, δεν έφθασαν εις τους πατέρας σας; και αυτοί εστράφησαν και είπον, Καθώς ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων εβουλεύθη να κάμη εις ημάς, κατά τας οδούς ημών και κατά τας πράξεις ημών, ούτως έκαμεν εις ημάς.

But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.

7 Εν τη εικοστή τετάρτη ημέρα του ενδεκάτου μηνός, όστις είναι ο μην Σαβάτ, εν τω δευτέρω έτει του Δαρείου, έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς Ζαχαρίαν τον υιόν του Βαραχίου υιού του Ιδδώ τον προφήτην, λέγων,

Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,

8 Είδον την νύκτα και ιδού, άνθρωπος ιππεύων εφ' ίππου κοκκίνου και ούτος ίστατο μεταξύ των μυρσινών, αίτινες ήσαν εν κοιλώματι· και όπισθεν αυτού, ίπποι κόκκινοι, ποικίλοι και λευκοί.

I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.

9 Και είπα, Κύριέ μου, τι είναι ούτοι; Και είπε προς εμέ ο άγγελος ο λαλών μετ' εμού, Εγώ θέλω σοι δείξει τι είναι ταύτα.

Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.

10 Και ο άνθρωπος ο ιστάμενος μεταξύ των μυρσινών απεκρίθη και είπεν, Ούτοι είναι εκείνοι, τους οποίους ο Κύριος εξαπέστειλε να περιοδεύσωσι την γην.

And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.

11 Και απεκρίθησαν προς τον άγγελον του Κυρίου τον ιστάμενον μεταξύ των μυρσινών και είπον, Ημείς περιωδεύσαμεν την γην και ιδού, πάσα η γη κάθηται και ησυχάζει.

And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.

12 Και ο άγγελος του Κυρίου απεκρίθη και είπε, Κύριε των δυνάμεων, έως πότε δεν θέλεις σπλαγχνισθή συ την Ιερουσαλήμ και τας πόλεις του Ιούδα κατά των οποίων ηγανάκτησας τα εβδομήκοντα ταύτα έτη;

Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?

13 Και ο Κύριος απεκρίθη προς τον άγγελον τον λαλούντα μετ' εμού λόγους καλούς λόγους παρηγορητικούς.

And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.

14 Και είπε προς εμέ ο άγγελος ο λαλών μετ' εμού, Φώνησον, λέγων, Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Είμαι ζηλότυπος διά την Ιερουσαλήμ και διά την Σιών εν ζηλοτυπία μεγάλη·

So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,

15 και είμαι σφόδρα ωργισμένος κατά των εθνών των αμεριμνούντων· διότι ενώ εγώ ωργίσθην ολίγον, αυτά επεβοήθησαν το κακόν.

And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.

16 Διά τούτο ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Εγώ επέστρεψα εις την Ιερουσαλήμ εν οικτιρμοίς· ο οίκός μου θέλει ανοικοδομηθή εν αυτή, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, και σχοινίον θέλει εκτανθή επί την Ιερουσαλήμ.

Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.

17 Φώνησον έτι λέγων, Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Αι πόλεις μου ότι θέλουσι πλημμυρήσει από αγαθών και ο Κύριος θέλει παρηγορήσει έτι την Σιών και θέλει εκλέξει πάλιν την Ιερουσαλήμ.

Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.

18 Και ύψωσα τους οφθαλμούς μου και είδον και ιδού, τέσσαρα κέρατα·

Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.

19 και είπα προς τον άγγελον τον λαλούντα μετ' εμού, Τι είναι ταύτα; Ο δε απεκρίθη προς εμέ, Ταύτα είναι τα κέρατα, τα οποία διεσκόρπισαν τον Ιούδαν, τον Ισραήλ και την Ιερουσαλήμ.

And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.

20 Και ο Κύριος έδειξεν εις εμέ τέσσαρας τέκτονας·

And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.

21 και είπα, Τι έρχονται ούτοι να κάμωσι; Και απεκρίθη λέγων, ταύτα είναι τα κέρατα τα οποία διεσκόρπισαν τον Ιούδαν, ώστε ουδείς εσήκωσε την κεφαλήν αυτού· και ούτοι ήλθον διά να φοβίσωσιν αυτά, διά να εκτινάξωσι τα κέρατα των εθνών, τα οποία εσήκωσαν το κέρας εναντίον της γης του Ιούδα διά να διασκορπίσωσιν αυτήν.

Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.
