Προς Ρωμαιους 15
1 Οφείλομεν δε ημείς οι δυνατοί να βαστάζωμεν τα ασθενήματα των αδυνάτων, και να μη αρέσκωμεν εις εαυτούς.
We then who are strong ought to hear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2 Αλλ' έκαστος ημών ας αρέσκη εις τον πλησίον διά το καλόν προς οικοδομήν·
Let each one of us please his neighbor, to promote what is good, for edification.
3 επειδή και ο Χριστός δεν ήρεσεν εις εαυτόν, αλλά καθώς είναι γεγραμμένον, Οι ονειδισμοί των ονειδιζόντων σε επέπεσον επ' εμέ.
For Christ did not seek his own pleasure, but, as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached thee fell on me.”
4 Διότι όσα προεγράφησαν, διά την διδασκαλίαν ημών προεγράφησαν, διά να έχωμεν την ελπίδα διά της υπομονής και της παρηγορίας των γραφών.
For whatever things were written aforetime, were written for our instruction; that we through the patience and the consolation of the Scriptures might have hope.
5 Ο δε Θεός της υπομονής και της παρηγορίας είθε να σας δώση να φρονήτε το αυτό εν αλλήλοις κατά Χριστόν Ιησούν,
And may the God of patience and consolation grant that ye may be of the same mind one with another, according to Christ Jesus;
6 διά να δοξάζητε ομοθυμαδόν εν ενί στόματι τον Θεόν και Πατέρα του Κυρίου ημών Ιησού Χριστού.
that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Διά τούτο προσδέχεσθε αλλήλους, καθώς και ο Χριστός προσεδέχθη ημάς εις δόξαν Θεού.
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ received you to the glory of God.
8 Λέγω δε ότι ο Ιησούς Χριστός έγεινε διάκονος της περιτομής υπέρ της αληθείας του Θεού, διά να βεβαιώση τας προς τους πατέρας επαγγελίας,
For I say that Christ became a minister to the circumcised for the sake of God's truth, in order to make sure the promises given to the fathers;
9 και διά να δοξάσωσι τα έθνη τον Θεόν διά το έλεος αυτού, καθώς είναι γεγραμμένον· Διά τούτο θέλω σε υμνεί μεταξύ των εθνών· και εις το όνομά σου θέλω ψάλλει.
and that the gentiles glorified God for his mercy, as it is written, “For this cause I will give praise to thee among the gentiles, and sing to thy name.”
10 Και πάλιν λέγει· Ευφράνθητε, έθνη, μετά του λαού αυτού.
And again he saith: “Rejoice, ye gentiles, with his people.”
11 Και πάλιν· Αινείτε τον Κύριον, πάντα τα έθνη, και δοξολογείτε αυτόν πάντες οι λαοί.
And again: “Praise the Lord, all ye gentiles, and let every people praise him.”
12 Και πάλιν ο Ησαΐας λέγει· Θέλει είσθαι η ρίζα του Ιεσσαί, Και ο ανιστάμενος διά να βασιλεύη επί τα έθνη· εις αυτόν τα έθνη θέλουσιν ελπίσει.
And again Isaiah saith: “There shall be the shoot from Jesse, and he that riseth up to rule the gentiles; in him shall the gentiles hope.”
13 Ο δε Θεός της ελπίδος είθε να σας εμπλήση πάσης χαράς και ειρήνης διά της πίστεως, ώστε να περισσεύητε εις την ελπίδα διά της δυνάμεως του Πνεύματος του Αγίου.
And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
14 Είμαι δε, αδελφοί μου, και αυτός εγώ πεπεισμένος διά σας, ότι και σεις είσθε πλήρεις αγαθωσύνης, πεπληρωμένοι πάσης γνώσεως, δυνάμενοι και αλλήλους να νουθετήτε.
But I myself am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye are even of yourselves full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
15 Σας έγραψα όμως, αδελφοί, τολμηρότερον οπωσούν, ως υπενθυμίζων υμάς, διά την χάριν την δοθείσαν εις εμέ υπό του Θεού
But I have written to you, brethren, in a manner somewhat bold on some subjects, as putting you in mind, on account of the grace given me by God
16 εις το να ήμαι υπηρέτης του Ιησού Χριστού προς τα έθνη, ιερουργών το ευαγγέλιον του Θεού, διά να γείνη η προσφορά των εθνών ευπρόσδεκτος, ηγιασμένη διά του Πνεύματος του Αγίου.
that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, performing the office of a priest in respect to the gospel of God, that the oblation of the gentiles may be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
17 Έχω λοιπόν καύχησιν εν Χριστώ Ιησού διά τα προς τον Θεόν·
I have then ground for glorying in Christ Jesus in regard to the things pertaining m God.
18 διότι δεν θέλω τολμήσει να είπω τι εξ εκείνων, τα οποία δεν έκαμεν ο Χριστός δι' εμού προς υπακοήν των εθνών λόγω και έργω,
For I will not be bold to say anything hut of what Christ hath actually wrought by me to bring the gentiles to obedience by word and deed,
19 με δύναμιν σημείων και τεράτων, με δύναμιν του Πνεύματος του Θεού, ώστε από Ιερουσαλήμ και κύκλω μέχρι της Ιλλυρίας εξεπλήρωσα το κήρυγμα του ευαγγελίου του Χριστού,
by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and in the country around even to Illyricum, I have fully made known the gospel of Christ;
20 ούτω δε εφιλοτιμήθην να κηρύττω το ευαγγέλιον, ουχί όπου ωνομάσθη ο Χριστός, διά να μη οικοδομώ επί ξένου θεμελίου·
but always earnestly desirous to preach it in this manner, —not where Christ had been named, that I might not build on another's foundation,
21 αλλά καθώς είναι γεγραμμένον· Εκείνοι προς τους οποίους δεν ανηγγέλθη περί αυτού θέλουσιν ιδεί, και εκείνοι οίτινες δεν ήκουσαν θέλουσι νοήσει.
but, as it is written: “They, to whom no tidings concerning him came, shall see; and they that have not heard shall understand.”
22 Διά τούτο και εμποδιζόμην πολλάκις να έλθω προς εσάς·
For which cause also, for the most part, I have been hindered from coming to you.
23 τώρα όμως μη έχων πλέον τόπον εν τοις κλίμασι τούτοις, επιποθών δε από πολλών ετών να έλθω προς εσάς,
But now having no more opportunity in these regions, and having had for many years a great desire to come to you,
24 όταν υπάγω εις την Ισπανίαν, θέλω ελθεί προς εσάς· διότι ελπίζω διαβαίνων να σας ιδώ και να προπεμφθώ εκεί από σας, αφού πρώτον οπωσούν σας χορτασθώ.
when I go to Spain, I will come to you; for I hope to see you on my way, and to be helped forward thither by you, after I have in some degree satisfied myself with your company.
25 Τώρα δε υπάγω εις Ιερουσαλήμ, εκπληρών την διακονίαν εις τους αγίους.
But now I am going to Jerusalem on a service of relief to the saints.
26 Διότι ευηρεστήθησαν η Μακεδονία και Αχαΐα να κάμωσί τινά βοήθειαν εις τους πτωχούς των αγίων των εν Ιερουσαλήμ.
For Macedonia and Achaia have thought it good to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
27 Ευηρεστήθησαν τωόντι, και είναι οφειλέται αυτών. Διότι εάν τα έθνη έγειναν συγκοινωνοί αυτών εις τα πνευματικά, χρεωστούσι να υπηρετήσωσιν αυτούς και εις τα σωματικά.
They have thought it good, and they owed it to them. For if the gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they ought in return to minister to them in temporal things.
28 Αφού λοιπόν εκτελέσω τούτο και επισφραγίσω εις αυτούς τον καρπόν τούτον, θέλω περάσει δι' υμών εις την Ισπανίαν.
When therefore I have completed this business, and secured to them this fruit, I shall set out to pass through you to Spain.
29 Εξεύρω δε ότι ερχόμενος προς εσάς, θέλω ελθεί με αφθονίαν της ευλογίας του ευαγγελίου του Χριστού.
And I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.
30 Σας παρακαλώ δε, αδελφοί, διά του Κυρίου ημών Ιησού Χριστού και διά της αγάπης του Πνεύματος, να συναγωνισθήτε μετ' εμού, προσευχόμενοι υπέρ εμού προς τον Θεόν,
But I beseech you, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love produced by the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in prayers to God for me;
31 διά να ελευθερωθώ από των εν τη Ιουδαία απειθούντων, και διά να γείνη ευπρόσδεκτος εις τους αγίους η εις την Ιερουσαλήμ διακονία μου,
that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judaea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints;
32 διά να έλθω μετά χαράς προς εσάς διά θελήματος του Θεού και να συναναπαυθώ με σας.
so that, through the will of God, I may come to you in joy, and may with you be refreshed.
33 Ο δε Θεός της ειρήνης είη μετά πάντων υμών· αμήν.
And may the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
