Αποκαλυψις Ιωαννου 8

1 Και ότε ήνοιξε την σφραγίδα την εβδόμην, έγεινε σιωπή εν τω ουρανώ, έως ημίσειαν ώραν.

And when He opened the seventh seal there was a stillness in heaven for about half an hour.

2 Και είδον τους επτά αγγέλους, οίτινες ίσταντο ενώπιον του Θεού, και εδόθησαν εις αυτούς επτά σάλπιγγες.

And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

3 Και ήλθεν άλλος άγγελος και εστάθη έμπροσθεν του θυσιαστηρίου, κρατών θυμιατήριον χρυσούν, και εδόθησαν εις αυτόν θυμιάματα πολλά, διά να προσφέρη με τας προσευχάς πάντων των αγίων επί το θυσιαστήριον το χρυσούν το ενώπιον του θρόνου.

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer. He was given lots of incense so that he could offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that is before the throne.

4 Και ανέβη ο καπνός των θυμιαμάτων με τας προσευχάς πάντων των αγίων εκ της χειρός του αγγέλου ενώπιον του Θεού.

And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel's hand.

5 Και έλαβεν ο άγγελος το θυμιατήριον και εγέμισεν αυτό εκ του πυρός του θυσιαστηρίου και έρριψεν εις την γην. Και έγειναν φωναί και βρονταί και αστραπαί και σεισμός.

Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it at the earth. And there were noises and thunders and lightnings and an earthquake.

6 Και οι επτά άγγελοι, οι έχοντες τας επτά σάλπιγγας, ητοίμασαν εαυτούς διά να σαλπίσωσι.

And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to trumpet.

7 Και ο πρώτος άγγελος εσάλπισε, και έγεινε χάλαζα και πυρ μεμιγμένα με αίμα, και ερρίφθησαν εις την γήν· και το τρίτον των δένδρων κατεκάη και πας χλωρός χόρτος κατεκάη.

So the first one trumpeted, and there appeared hail and fire mixed with blood, and it [the mixture] was thrown at the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up; that is, a third of the trees was burned up and all green grass was burned up.

8 Και ο δεύτερος άγγελος εσάλπισε, και ως όρος μέγα καιόμενον με πυρ ερρίφθη εις την θάλασσαν, και το τρίτον της θαλάσσης έγεινεν αίμα,

So the second angel trumpeted, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.

9 και απέθανε το τρίτον των εμψύχων κτισμάτων των εν τη θαλάσση και το τρίτον των πλοίων διεφθάρη.

And a third of the creatures with souls in the sea died. And a third of the ships were destroyed.

10 Και ο τρίτος άγγελος εσάλπισε, και έπεσεν εκ του ουρανού αστήρ μέγας καιόμενος ως λαμπάς, και έπεσεν επί το τρίτον των ποταμών, και επί τας πηγάς των υδάτων·

So the third angel trumpeted, and a great star fell out of the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and on the springs of waters.

11 και το όνομα του αστέρος λέγεται Αψινθος· και έγεινε το τρίτον των υδάτων άψινθος, και πολλοί άνθρωποι απέθανον εκ των υδάτων, διότι επικράνθησαν.

The name of the star is called Wormwood; so a third of the waters were turned into wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.

12 Και ο τέταρτος άγγελος εσάλπισε, και εκτυπήθη το τρίτον του ηλίου και το τρίτον της σελήνης και το τρίτον των αστέρων, διά να σκοτισθή το τρίτον αυτών, και η ημέρα να χάση το τρίτον του φωτισμού αυτής, και η νυξ ομοίως.

So the fourth angel trumpeted, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them was darkened; so a third of the day did not shine, and the night likewise.

13 Και είδον και ήκουσα ένα άγγελον πετώμενον εις το μεσουράνημα, όστις έλεγε μετά φωνής μεγάλης· Ουαί, ουαί, ουαί εις τους κατοικούντας επί της γης διά τας λοιπάς φωνάς της σάλπιγγος των τριών αγγέλων των μελλόντων να σαλπίσωσι.

And I saw and heard an eagle flying in midheaven saying with a loud voice, three times: “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth because of the remaining trumpet blasts of the three angels who are about to trumpet!”
