Ψαλμοί 94
1 Θεέ των εκδικήσεων, Κύριε, Θεέ των εκδικήσεων, εμφάνηθι.
O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, show thyself.
2 Υψώθητι, Κριτά της γής· απόδος ανταπόδοσιν εις τους υπερηφάνους.
Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
3 Έως πότε οι ασεβείς, Κύριε, έως πότε οι ασεβείς θέλουσι θριαμβεύει;
LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4 Έως πότε θέλουσι προφέρει και λαλεί σκληρά; θέλουσι καυχάσθαι πάντες οι εργάται της ανομίας;
[How long] shall they utter [and] speak hard things? [and] all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
5 Τον λαόν σου, Κύριε, καταθλίβουσι και την κληρονομίαν σου κακοποιούσι.
They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thy heritage.
6 Την χήραν και τον ξένον φονεύουσι και θανατόνουσι τους ορφανούς.
They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Και λέγουσι, δεν θέλει ιδεί ο Κύριος ουδέ θέλει νοήσει ο Θεός του Ιακώβ.
Yet they say, The LORD will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it].
8 Εννοήσατε, οι άφρονες μεταξύ του λαού· και οι μωροί, πότε θέλετε φρονιμεύσει;
Understand, ye brutish among the people: and [ye] fools, when will ye be wise?
9 Ο φυτεύσας το ωτίον, δεν θέλει ακούσει; ο πλάσας τον οφθαλμόν, δεν θέλει ιδεί;
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 Ο σωφρονίζων τα έθνη, δεν θέλει ελέγξει; ο διδάσκων τον άνθρωπον γνώσιν;
He that chastiseth the heathen, shall he not correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, [shall he not know]?
11 Ο Κύριος γνωρίζει τους διαλογισμούς των ανθρώπων, ότι είναι μάταιοι.
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.
12 Μακάριος ο άνθρωπος, τον οποίον σωφρονίζεις, Κύριε, και διά του νόμου σου διδάσκεις αυτόν·
Blessed [is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
13 διά να αναπαύης αυτόν από των ημερών της συμφοράς, εωσού σκαφθή λάκκος εις τον ασεβή.
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14 Διότι δεν θέλει απορρίψει ο Κύριος τον λαόν αυτού, και την κληρονομίαν αυτού δεν θέλει εγκαταλείψει.
For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 Επειδή η κρίσις θέλει επιστρέψει εις την δικαιοσύνην, και θέλουσιν ακολουθήσει αυτήν πάντες οι ευθείς την καρδίαν.
But judgment shall return to righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16 Τις θέλει σηκωθή υπέρ εμού κατά των πονηρευομένων; τις θέλει παρασταθή υπέρ εμού κατά των εργατών της ανομίας;
Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? [or] who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Εάν ο Κύριος δεν με εβοήθει, παρ' ολίγον ήθελε κατοικήσει ψυχή μου εν τη σιωπή.
Unless the LORD [had been] my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18 Ότε έλεγον, ωλίσθησεν ο πους μου, το έλεός σου, Κύριε, με εβοήθει.
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.
19 Εν τω πλήθει των αμηχανιών της καρδίας μου, αι παρηγορίαι σου εύφραναν την ψυχήν μου.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soul.
20 Μήπως έχει μετά σου συγκοινωνίαν ο θρόνος της ανομίας, όστις μηχανάται αδικίαν αντί νόμου;
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
21 Αυτοί εφορμώσι κατά της ψυχής του δικαίου και αίμα αθώον καταδικάζουσιν.
They assemble themselves against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 Αλλ' ο Κύριος είναι εις εμέ καταφύγιον και ο Θεός μου το φρούριον της ελπίδος μου.
But the LORD is my defense; and my God [is] the rock of my refuge.
23 Και θέλει επιστρέψει επ' αυτούς την ανομίαν αυτών και εν τη πονηρία αυτών θέλει αφανίσει αυτούς· Κύριος ο Θεός ημών θέλει αφανίσει αυτούς.
And he will bring upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness; [yes], the LORD our God will cut them off.
