Ψαλμοί 90
1 «Προσευχή του Μωϋσέως, του ανθρώπου του Θεού.» Κύριε, συ έγεινες εις ημάς καταφυγή εις γενεάν και γενεάν.
A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.
2 Πριν γεννηθώσι τα όρη, και πλάσης την γην και την οικουμένην, και από του αιώνος έως του αιώνος, συ είσαι ο Θεός.
Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art God.
3 Επαναφέρεις τον άνθρωπον εις τον χούν· και λέγεις, Επιστρέψατε, υιοί των ανθρώπων.
Thou makest [mortal] man to return to dust, and sayest, Return, children of men.
4 Διότι χίλια έτη ενώπιόν σου είναι ως ημέρα η χθές, ήτις παρήλθε, και ως φυλακή νυκτός.
For a thousand years, in thy sight, are as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.
5 Κατακλύζεις αυτούς· είναι ως όνειρον της αυγής, ως χόρτος όστις παρέρχεται·
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning they are like grass [that] groweth up:
6 το πρωΐ ανθεί και παρακμάζει· το εσπέρας κόπτεται και ξηραίνεται.
In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down and withereth.
7 Διότι εκλείπομεν εν τη οργή σου και εν τω θυμώ σου ταραττόμεθα.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy fury are we troubled.
8 Έθεσας τας ανομίας ημών ενώπιόν σου, τα κρύφια ημών εις το φως του προσώπου σου.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.
9 Επειδή πάσαι αι ημέραι ημών παρέρχονται εν τη οργή σου· διατρέχομεν τα έτη ημών ως διανόημα.
For all our days pass away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a [passing] thought.
10 Αι ημέραι της ζωής ημών είναι καθ' εαυτάς εβδομήκοντα έτη, και εάν εν ευρωστία, ογδοήκοντα έτη· πλην και το καλήτερον μέρος αυτών είναι κόπος και πόνος, διότι ταχέως παρέρχεται και εμείς πετώμεν.
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet their pride is labour and vanity, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
11 Τις γνωρίζει την δύναμιν της οργής σου και του θυμού σου αναλόγως του φόβου σου;
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?
12 Δίδαξον ημάς να μετρώμεν ούτω τας ημέρας ημών, ώστε να προσκολλώμεν τας καρδίας ημών εις την σοφίαν.
So teach [us] to number our days, that we may acquire a wise heart.
13 Επίστρεψον, Κύριε· έως πότε; και γενού ίλεως εις τους δούλους σου.
Return, Jehovah: how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
14 Χόρτασον ημάς του ελέους σου από πρωΐας, και θέλομεν αγάλλεσθαι και ευφραίνεσθαι κατά πάσας τας ημέρας ημών.
Satisfy us early with thy loving-kindness; that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Εύφρανον ημάς αντί των ημερών, καθ' ας έθλιψας ημάς, των ετών καθ' α είδομεν κακά.
Make us glad according to the days [wherein] thou hast afflicted us, according to the years [wherein] we have seen evil.
16 Ας γείνη το έργον σου φανερόν εις τους δούλους σου και η δόξα σου εις τους υιούς αυτών·
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy majesty unto their sons.
17 και ας ήναι η λαμπρότης Κυρίου του Θεού ημών εφ' ημάς· και το έργον των χειρών ημών στερέονε εφ' ημάς· ναι, το έργον των χειρών ημών, στερέονε αυτό.
And let the beauty of Jehovah our God be upon us; and establish thou the work of our hands upon us: yea, the work of our hands, establish thou it.
