Ψαλμοί 87

1 «Ψαλμός ωδής διά τους υιούς Κορέ.» Το θεμέλιον αυτού είναι εις τα όρη τα άγια.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 Αγαπά ο Κύριος τας πύλας της Σιών υπέρ πάντα τα σκηνώματα του Ιακώβ.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Ένδοξα ελαλήθησαν περί σου, πόλις του Θεού. Διάψαλμα.

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Θέλω αναφέρει την Ραάβ και την Βαβυλώνα μεταξύ των γνωριζόντων με· ιδού, η Παλαιστίνη και η Τύρος μετά της Αιθιοπίας· ούτος εγεννήθη εκεί.

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 Και περί της Σιών θέλουσιν ειπεί, ούτος και εκείνος εγεννήθη εν αυτή· και αυτός ο Ύψιστος θέλει στερεώσει αυτήν.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 Ο Κύριος θέλει αριθμήσει, όταν καταγράψη τους λαούς, ότι ούτος εγεννήθη εκεί. Διάψαλμα.

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Και οι ψάλται καθώς και οι λαληταί των οργάνων θέλουσι λέγει, Πάσαι αι πηγαί μου είναι εν σοι.

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
