< Ψαλμοί 76 >
1 Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν, επί Νεγινώθ. Ψαλμός ωδής του Ασάφ. Γνωστός είναι εν τη Ιουδαία ο Θεός· εν τω Ισραήλ μέγα το όνομα αυτού.
People in Judah know God; the Israeli people honor him [MTY].
2 Η δε σκηνή αυτού είναι εν Σαλήμ, και το κατοικητήριον αυτού εν Σιών.
His home is in Jerusalem; he lives on Zion [Hill].
3 Εκεί συνέτριψε τα βέλη του τόξου, την ασπίδα και την ρομφαίαν και τον πόλεμον. Διάψαλμα.
There he broke the flaming arrows [that his enemies shot], [and he also broke] their shields and swords and other weapons that they used in battles.
4 Είσαι λαμπρότερος υπέρ τα όρη των αρπακτήρων.
God, you are glorious! You are like a king [as you return from] the mountains [where you defeated your enemies].
5 Οι θρασυκάρδιοι εγυμνώθησαν· εκοιμήθησαν τον ύπνον αυτών· και ουδείς των ρωμαλέων ανδρών εύρηκε τας χείρας αυτού.
Their brave soldiers [were killed, and then those who killed them] took away everything that those soldiers had. Those enemies died [EUP], [so] they were unable to use their weapons [any more]!
6 Από επιτιμήσεώς σου, Θεέ του Ιακώβ, έπεσον εις βαθύτατον ύπνον και η άμαξα και ο ίππος.
When you, the God whom Jacob [worshiped], rebuked [your enemies], [the result was that their] horses and their riders fell down dead.
7 Συ είσαι φοβερός· και τις δύναται να σταθή έμπροσθέν σου, όταν οργισθής;
But you cause everyone to be afraid. When you are angry [and you punish people], no one can [RHQ] endure it.
8 Εξ ουρανού έκαμες να ακουσθή κρίσις· η γη εφοβήθη και ησύχασεν,
From heaven you proclaimed that you would judge people, [and then everyone on] the earth was afraid and did not say [anything more],
9 ότε εσηκώθη εις κρίσιν ο Θεός, διά να σώση πάντας τους πράους της γης. Διάψαλμα.
when you arose to declare that you would punish [wicked people] and rescue all those whom they had oppressed.
10 Βεβαίως ο θυμός του ανθρώπου θέλει καταντήσει εις έπαινον σου· θέλεις χαλινώσει το υπόλοιπον του θυμού.
When [you punish those] with whom you are angry, your people will praise you, and [your enemies] who (survive/are not killed) will worship you on your festival days.
11 Κάμετε ευχάς και απόδοτε εις Κύριον τον Θεόν σας· πάντες οι κύκλω αυτού ας φέρωσι δώρα εις τον φοβερόν·
[So] give to Yahweh the offerings that you promised to give to him; all the people of nearby people-groups should also bring gifts to him, the one who is awesome.
12 τον αφαιρούντα το πνεύμα των αρχόντων, τον φοβερόν εις τους βασιλείς της γης.
He humbles [IDM] princes, and [even] causes [great] kings to be terrified.
