Ψαλμοί 64

1 «Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν. Ψαλμός του Δαβίδ.» Άκουσον, Θεέ, της φωνής μου εν τη δεήσει μου· από του φόβου του εχθρού φύλαξον την ζωήν μου.

For the Leader. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from the terror of the enemy.

2 Σκέπασόν με από συμβουλίου πονηρών, από φρυάγματος εργαζομένων ανομίαν·

Hide me from the council of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity;

3 οίτινες ακονώσιν ως ρομφαίαν την γλώσσαν αυτών· ετοιμάζουσιν ως βέλη λόγους πικρούς,

Who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a poisoned word;

4 διά να τοξεύωσι κρυφίως τον άμεμπτον· εξαίφνης τοξεύουσιν αυτόν και δεν φοβούνται.

That they may shoot in secret places at the blameless; suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

5 Στερεούνται επί πονηρού πράγματος· μελετώσι να κρύπτωσι παγίδας, λέγοντες, Τις θέλει ιδεί αυτούς;

They encourage one another in an evil matter; they converse of laying snares secretly; they ask, who would see them.

6 Ανιχνεύουσιν ανομίας· απέκαμον ανιχνεύοντες επιμελώς· εκάστου δε τα εντός και η καρδία είναι βυθός.

They search out iniquities, they have accomplished a diligent search; even in the inward thought of every one, and the deep heart.

7 Αλλ' ο Θεός θέλει τοξεύσει αυτούς· από αιφνιδίου βέλους θέλουσιν είσθαι αι πληγαί αυτών.

But God doth shoot at them with an arrow suddenly; thence are their wounds.

8 Και οι λόγοι της γλώσσης αυτών θέλουσι πέσει επ' αυτού· θέλουσι φεύγει πάντες οι βλέποντες αυτούς.

So they make their own tongue a stumbling unto themselves; all that see them shake the head.

9 Και θέλει φοβηθή πας άνθρωπος, και θέλουσι διηγηθή το έργον του Θεού και εννοήσει τας εργασίας αυτού.

And all men fear; and they declare the work of God, and understand His doing.

10 Ο δίκαιος θέλει ευφρανθή εις τον Κύριον και θέλει ελπίζει επ' αυτόν· και θέλουσι καυχάσθαι πάντες οι ευθείς την καρδίαν.

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
