Ψαλμοί 37
1 «Ψαλμός του Δαβίδ.» Μη αγανάκτει διά τους πονηρευομένους, μηδέ ζήλευε τους εργάτας της ανομίας.
[A Psalm] of David. Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 Διότι ως χόρτος ταχέως θέλουσι κοπή, και ως χλωρά βοτάνη θέλουσι καταμαρανθή.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Έλπιζε επί Κύριον και πράττε το αγαθόν· κατοίκει την γην και νέμου την αλήθειαν·
Trust in the LORD, and do good; [so] shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 και ευφραίνου εν Κυρίω, και θέλει σοι δώσει τα ζητήματα της καρδίας σου.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.
5 Ανάθες εις τον Κύριον την οδόν σου και έλπιζε επ' αυτόν, και αυτός θέλει ενεργήσει·
Commit thy way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he will bring [it] to pass.
6 και θέλει εξάξει ως φως την δικαιοσύνην σου και την κρίσιν σου ως μεσημβρίαν.
And he will bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noon-day.
7 Αναπαύου επί τον Κύριον και πρόσμενε αυτόν· μη αγανάκτει διά τον κατευοδούμενον εν τη οδώ αυτού, διά άνθρωπον πράττοντα παρανομίας.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Παύσον από θυμού και άφες την οργήν· μηδόλως αγανάκτει ώστε να πράττης πονηρά.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 Διότι οι πονηρευόμενοι θέλουσιν εξολοθρευθή· οι δε προσμένοντες τον Κύριον, ούτοι θέλουσι κληρονομήσει την γην.
For evil doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 Διότι έτι μικρόν και ο ασεβής δεν θέλει υπάρχει· και θέλεις ζητήσει τον τόπον αυτού, και δεν θέλει ευρεθή·
For yet a little while, and the wicked [shall] not [be]: yes, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it [shall] not [be].
11 οι πραείς όμως θέλουσι κληρονομήσει την γήν· και θέλουσι κατατρυφά εν πολλή ειρήνη.
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 Ο ασεβής μηχανάται κατά του δικαίου, και τρίζει κατ' αυτού τους οδόντας αυτού.
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 Ο Κύριος θέλει γελάσει επ' αυτώ, επειδή βλέπει ότι έρχεται η ημέρα αυτού.
The LORD will laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 Οι ασεβείς εξέσπασαν ρομφαίαν και ενέτειναν το τόξον αυτών, διά να καταβάλωσι τον πτωχόν και τον πένητα, διά να σφάξωσι τους περιπατούντας εν ευθύτητι.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, [and] to slay such as are of upright deportment.
15 Η ρομφαία αυτών θέλει εμβή εις την καρδίαν αυτών, και τα τόξα αυτών θέλουσι συντριφθή.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 Κάλλιον το ολίγον του δικαίου παρά ο πλούτος πολλών ασεβών.
A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked.
17 Διότι οι βραχίονες των ασεβών θέλουσι συντριφθή· τους δε δικαίους υποστηρίζει ο Κύριος.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 Γινώσκει ο Κύριος τας ημέρας των αμέμπτων· και η κληρονομία αυτών θέλει είσθαι εις τον αιώνα·
The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 δεν θέλουσι καταισχυνθή εν καιρώ πονηρώ· και εν ημέραις πείνης θέλουσι χορτασθή.
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 Οι δε ασεβείς θέλουσιν εξολοθρευθή· και οι εχθροί του Κυρίου, ως το πάχος των αρνίων, θέλουσιν αναλωθή· εις καπνόν θέλουσι διαλυθή.
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD [shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 Δανείζεται ο ασεβής και δεν αποδίδει, ο δε δίκαιος ελεεί και δίδει.
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth.
22 Διότι οι ευλογημένοι αυτού θέλουσι κληρονομήσει την γήν· οι δε κατηραμένοι αυτού θέλουσιν εξολοθρευθή.
For [such as are] blessed by him shall inherit the earth; and [they that are] cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 Όταν υπό Κυρίου κατευθύνωνται τα διαβήματα του ανθρώπου, η οδός αυτού είναι αρεστή εις αυτόν.
The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Εάν πέση, δεν θέλει συντριφθή· διότι ο Κύριος υποστηρίζει την χείρα αυτού.
Though he should fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand.
25 Νέος ήμην και ήδη εγήρασα, και δεν είδον δίκαιον εγκαταλελειμμένον ουδέ το σπέρμα αυτού ζητούν άρτον.
I have been young, and [now] am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 Όλην την ημέραν ελεεί και δανείζει, και το σπέρμα αυτού είναι εις ευλογίαν.
[He is] ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed [is] blessed.
27 Έκκλινον από του κακού και πράττε το αγαθόν, και θέλεις διαμένει εις τον αιώνα.
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 Διότι ο Κύριος αγαπά κρίσιν, και δεν εγκαταλείπει τους οσίους αυτού· εις τον αιώνα θέλουσι διαφυλαχθή· το δε σπέρμα των ασεβών θέλει εξολοθρευθή.
For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 Οι δίκαιοι θέλουσι κληρονομήσει την γην, και επ' αυτής θέλουσι κατοικεί εις τον αιώνα.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 Το στόμα του δικαίου μελετά σοφίαν, και η γλώσσα αυτού λαλεί κρίσιν.
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 Ο νόμος του Θεού αυτού είναι εν τη καρδία αυτού· τα διαβήματα αυτού δεν θέλουσιν ολισθήσει.
The law of his God [is] in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 Κατασκοπεύει ο αμαρτωλός τον δίκαιον και ζητεί να θανατώση αυτόν.
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 Ο Κύριος δεν θέλει αφήσει αυτόν εις τας χείρας αυτού, ουδέ θέλει καταδικάσει αυτόν όταν κρίνη αυτόν.
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Πρόσμενε τον Κύριον και φύλαττε την οδόν αυτού, και θέλει σε υψώσει διά να κληρονομήσης την γήν· όταν εξολοθρευθώσιν οι ασεβείς, θέλεις ιδεί.
Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see [it].
35 Είδον τον ασεβή υπερυψούμενον και εξηπλωμένον ως την χλωράν δάφνην·
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 αλλ' ηφανίσθη· και ιδού, δεν υπήρχε· και εζήτησα αυτόν, και δεν ευρέθη.
Yet he passed away, and lo, he [was] not: yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Παρατήρει τον άκακον και βλέπε τον ευθύν, ότι εις τον ειρηνικόν άνθρωπον θέλει είσθαι εγκατάλειμμα·
Mark the perfect [man], and behold the upright: for the end of [that] man [is] peace.
38 οι δε παραβάται θέλουσιν όλως εξολοθρευθή· των ασεβών το εγκατάλειμμα θέλει αποκοπή.
But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 Των δικαίων όμως η σωτηρία είναι παρά Κυρίου· αυτός είναι η δύναμις αυτών εν καιρώ θλίψεως.
But the salvation of the righteous [is] of the LORD: [he is] their strength in the time of trouble.
40 Και θέλει βοηθήσει αυτούς ο Κύριος, και ελευθερώσει αυτούς· θέλει ελευθερώσει αυτούς από ασεβών και σώσει αυτούς· διότι ήλπισαν επ' αυτόν.
And the LORD will help them, and deliver them: he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
