Ἀριθμοί 32
1 Οι δε υιοί Ρουβήν και οι υιοί Γαδ είχον πλήθος κτηνών πολύ σφόδρα· και ότε είδον την γην Ιαζήρ και την γην Γαλαάδ, ότι, ιδού, ο τόπος ήτο τόπος διά κτήνη,
And the children of Ruben and the children of Gad had a multitude of cattle, very great; and they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Galaad; and the place was a place for cattle:
2 οι υιοί Γαδ και οι υιοί Ρουβήν ελθόντες είπον προς τον Μωϋσήν και προς Ελεάζαρ τον ιερέα και προς τους άρχοντας της συναγωγής, λέγοντες,
and the children of Ruben and the children of Gad came, and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
3 Η Αταρώθ και Δαιβών και Ιαζήρ και Νιμρά και Εσεβών και Ελεαλή και Σεβάμ και Νεβώ και Βαιών,
Ataroth, and Daebon, and Jazer, and Namra, and Esebon, and Eleale, and Sebama, and Nabau, and Baean,
4 η γη την οποίαν επάταξεν ο Κύριος έμπροσθεν της συναγωγής του Ισραήλ, είναι γη κτηνοτρόφος και οι δούλοί σου έχουσι κτήνη·
the land which the Lord has delivered up before the children of Israel, is pasture land, and your servants have cattle.
5 διά τούτο, είπον, εάν ευρήκαμεν χάριν έμπροσθέν σου, ας δοθή η γη αύτη εις τους δούλους σου διά ιδιοκτησίαν· μη διαβιβάσης ημάς τον Ιορδάνην.
And they said, If we have found grace in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession, and do not cause us to pass over Jordan.
6 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τους υιούς Γαδ και προς τους υιούς Ρουβήν, Οι αδελφοί σας θέλουσιν υπάγει εις πόλεμον και σεις θέλετε μείνει εδώ;
And Moses said to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall you sit here?
7 και διά τι δειλιάζετε την καρδίαν των υιών Ισραήλ, διά να μη περάσωσιν εις την γην, την οποίαν ο Κύριος έδωκεν εις αυτούς;
And why do you pervert the minds of the children of Israel, that they should not cross over into the land, which the Lord gives them?
8 ούτως έκαμον οι πατέρες σας, ότε απέστειλα αυτούς από Κάδης-βαρνή διά να ίδωσι την γήν·
Did not your fathers thus, when I sent them from Cades Barne to spy out the land?
9 και ανέβησαν μέχρι της φάραγγος Εσχώλ, και ιδόντες την γην εδειλίασαν την καρδίαν των υιών Ισραήλ, διά να μη εισέλθωσιν εις την γην την οποίαν ο Κύριος έδωκεν εις αυτούς·
And they went up to the valley of the cluster, and spied the land, and turned aside the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land, which the Lord gave them.
10 και εξήφθη η οργή του Κυρίου εν τη ημέρα εκείνη, και ώμοσε λέγων,
And the Lord was very angry in that day, and sware, saying,
11 Δεν θέλουσιν ιδεί οι άνδρες οι αναβάντες εξ Αιγύπτου, από είκοσι ετών και επάνω, την γην την οποίαν ώμοσα προς τον Αβραάμ, προς τον Ισαάκ και προς τον Ιακώβ· διότι δεν με ηκολούθησαν εντελώς·
Surely these men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old and upward, who know good and evil, shall not see the land which I sware [to give] to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, for they have not closely followed after me:
12 εκτός Χάλεβ υιού Ιεφοννή του Κενεζίτου και Ιησού υιού του Ναυή· διότι ηκολούθησαν εντελώς τον Κύριον.
save Caleb the son of Jephonne, who was set apart, and Joshua the son of Naue, for they closely followed after the Lord.
13 Και εξήφθη η οργή του Κυρίου κατά του Ισραήλ, και έκαμεν αυτούς να περιπλανώνται εις την έρημον τεσσαράκοντα έτη, εωσού εξωλοθρεύθη πάσα η γενεά, ήτις είχε πράξει το κακόν ενώπιον του Κυρίου.
And the Lord was very angry with Israel; and for forty years he caused them to wander in the wilderness, until all the generation which did evil in the sight of the Lord was extinct.
14 Και ιδού, σεις εσηκώθητε αντί των πατέρων σας, γενεά ανθρώπων αμαρτωλών, διά να εξάψητε περισσότερον την φλόγα της οργής του Κυρίου κατά του Ισραήλ.
Behold, you are risen up in the room of your fathers, a combination of sinful men, to increase yet farther the fierce wrath of the Lord against Israel.
15 Επειδή, εάν εκκλίνητε απ' αυτού, έτι πάλιν θέλει αφήσει τον Ισραήλ εν τη ερήμω και θέλετε εξολοθρεύσει πάντα τον λαόν τούτον.
For you will turn away from him to desert him yet once more in the wilderness, and you will sin against this whole congregation.
16 Και προσήλθον εις αυτόν και είπον, Θέλομεν οικοδομήσει ενταύθα μάνδρας διά τα κτήνη ημών και πόλεις διά τα παιδία ημών·
And they came to him, and said, We will build here folds for our cattle, and cities for our possessions;
17 ημείς δε ώπλισμένοι θέλομεν προχωρεί πρόθυμοι έμπροσθεν των υιών Ισραήλ, εωσού φέρωμεν αυτούς εις τον τόπον αυτών· τα δε παιδία ημών θέλουσι κατοικεί εις τετειχισμένας πόλεις, διά τους κατοίκους του τόπου·
and we will arm ourselves and go as an advanced guard before the children of Israel, until we shall have brought them into their place; and our possessions shall remain in walled cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 δεν θέλομεν επιστρέψει εις τας οικίας ημών, εωσού οι υιοί Ισραήλ κληρονομήσωσιν έκαστος την κληρονομίαν αυτού·
We will not return to our houses till the children of Israel shall have been distributed, each to his own inheritance.
19 διότι ημείς δεν θέλομεν να κληρονομήσωμεν μετ' αυτών πέραν του Ιορδάνου και επέκεινα· διότι η κληρονομία ημών έπεσεν εις ημάς εντεύθεν του Ιορδάνου προς ανατολάς.
And we will not any longer inherit with them from the other side of Jordan and onwards, because we have our full inheritance on the side beyond Jordan eastward.
20 Και είπε προς αυτούς ο Μωϋσής, Εάν κάμητε κατά τον λόγον τούτον, εάν προχωρήτε ώπλισμένοι έμπροσθεν του Κυρίου εις πόλεμον,
And Moses said to them, If you will do according to these words, if you will arm yourselves before the Lord for battle,
21 και διαβήτε πάντες, ώπλισμένοι τον Ιορδάνην έμπροσθεν του Κυρίου, εωσού εκδιώξη τους εχθρούς αυτού απ' έμπροσθεν αυτού,
and every one of you will pass over Jordan fully armed before the Lord, until his enemy be destroyed from before his face,
22 και υποταχθή η γη έμπροσθεν του Κυρίου· τότε μετά ταύτα θέλετε επιστρέψει και θέλετε είσθαι αθώοι ενώπιον του Κυρίου και ενώπιον του Ισραήλ, και θέλετε έχει την γην ταύτην ιδιοκτησίαν σας ενώπιον του Κυρίου·
and the land shall be subdued before the Lord, then afterwards you shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and as regards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the Lord.
23 εάν όμως δεν κάμητε ούτως, ιδού, θέλετε αμαρτήσει ενώπιον του Κυρίου· και ας ήσθε βέβαιοι ότι θέλει σας ευρή η αμαρτία σας·
But if you will not do so, you will sin against the Lord; and you shall know your sin, when afflictions shall come upon you.
24 οικοδομήσατε πόλεις διά τα παιδία σας και μάνδρας διά τα πρόβατά σας και κάμετε εκείνο, το οποίον εξήλθεν εκ του στόματός σας.
And you shall build for yourselves cities for your store, and folds for your cattle; and you shall do that which proceeds out of your mouth.
25 Και είπον οι υιοί Γαδ και οι υιοί Ρουβήν προς τον Μωϋσήν, λέγοντες, Οι δούλοί σου θέλουσι κάμει καθώς ο κύριός μου προστάζει·
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad spoke to Moses, saying, Your servants will do as our lord commands.
26 τα παιδία ημών, αι γυναίκες ημών, τα ποίμνια ημών και πάντα τα κτήνη ημών θέλουσι μένει ενταύθα εις τας πόλεις του Γαλαάδ·
Our store, and our wives, and all our cattle shall be in the cities of Galaad.
27 οι δούλοί σου όμως θέλουσι διαβή πάντες ώπλισμένοι, παρατεταγμένοι ενώπιον του Κυρίου εις μάχην, καθώς λέγει ο κύριός μου.
But your servants will go over all armed and set in order before the Lord to battle, as [our] lord says.
28 Τότε ο Μωϋσής έδωκε προσταγήν περί αυτών εις Ελεάζαρ τον ιερέα και εις τον Ιησούν υιόν του Ναυή και εις τους αρχηγούς των πατριών των φυλών των υιών Ισραήλ·
And Moses appointed to them [for judges] Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Naue, and the chiefs of the families of the tribes of Israel.
29 και είπε προς αυτούς ο Μωϋσής, Εάν οι υιοί Γαδ και οι υιοί Ρουβήν διαβώσι με σας τον Ιορδάνην, πάντες ώπλισμένοι εις μάχην, έμπροσθεν του Κυρίου, και κατακυριευθή η γη έμπροσθέν σας, τότε θέλετε δώσει εις αυτούς την γην Γαλαάδ εις ιδιοκτησίαν·
And Moses said to them, If the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad will pass over Jordan with you, every one armed for war before the Lord, and you shall subdue the land before you, then you shall give to them the land of Galaad for a possession.
30 εάν όμως δεν θέλωσι να διαβώσιν ώπλισμένοι με σας, τότε θέλουσι λάβει κληρονομίαν μεταξύ σας εν τη γη Χαναάν.
But if they will not pass over armed with you to war before the Lord, then shall you cause to pass over their possessions and their wives and their cattle before you into the land of Chanaan, and they shall inherit with you in the land of Chanaan.
31 Και απεκρίθησαν οι υιοί Γαδ και οι υιοί Ρουβήν λέγοντες, Ως είπεν ο Κύριος εις τους δούλους σου, ούτω θέλομεν κάμει·
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad answered, saying, Whatsoever the Lord says to his servants, that will we do.
32 ημείς θέλομεν διαβή ώπλισμένοι έμπροσθεν του Κυρίου εις την γην Χαναάν, διά να έχωμεν την ιδιοκτησίαν της κληρονομίας ημών εντεύθεν του Ιορδάνου.
We will go over armed before the Lord into the land of Chanaan, and you shall give us our inheritance beyond Jordan.
33 Και έδωκεν εις αυτούς ο Μωϋσής, εις τους υιούς Γαδ και εις τους υιούς Ρουβήν και εις το ήμισυ της φυλής Μανασσή υιού του Ιωσήφ, το βασίλειον του Σηών βασιλέως των Αμορραίων και το βασίλειον του Ωγ βασιλέως της Βασάν, την γην μετά των πόλεων αυτής εν τοις ορίοις, τας πόλεις της γης κύκλω.
And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, and to the half tribe of Manasse of the sons of Joseph, the kingdom of Seon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Basan, the land and its cities with its coasts, the cities of the land round about.
34 Και οι υιοί Γαδ ωκοδόμησαν την Δαιβών και την Αταρώθ και την Αροήρ
And the sons of Gad built Daebon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 και την Ατρώθ-σοφάν και την Ιαζήρ και την Ιογβεά
and Sophar, and Jazer, and they set them up,
36 και την Βαιθ-νιμρά και την Βαιθ-αράν, πόλεις οχυράς, και μάνδρας προβάτων.
and Namram, and Baetharan, strong cities, and folds for sheep.
37 Και οι υιοί Ρουβήν ωκοδόμησαν την Εσεβών και την Ελεαλή και την Κιριαθαΐμ
And the sons of Ruben built Esebon, and Eleale, and Kariatham,
38 και την Νεβώ και την Βάαλ-μεών, μεταβάλλοντες τα ονόματα αυτών, και την Σιβμά· και έδωκαν άλλα ονόματα εις τας πόλεις, τας οποίας ωκοδόμησαν.
and Beelmeon, surrounded [with walls], and Sebama; and they called the names of the cities which they built, after their own names.
39 Και οι υιοί Μαχείρ υιού του Μανασσή υπήγαν εις την Γαλαάδ και εκυρίευσαν αυτήν, εκδιώξαντες τον Αμορραίον τον εν αυτή.
And a son of Machir the son of Manasse went to Galaad, and took it, and destroyed the Amorite who lived in it.
40 Και έδωκεν ο Μωϋσής την Γαλαάδ εις Μαχείρ τον υιόν του Μανασσή· και κατώκησεν εν αυτή.
And Moses gave Galaad to Machir the son of Manasse, and he lived there.
41 Και Ιαείρ ο υιός του Μανασσή υπήγε και εκυρίευσε τας μικράς πόλεις αυτής· και ωνόμασεν αυτάς Αβώθ-ιαείρ.
And Jair the [son] of Manasse went and took their villages, and called them the villages of Jair.
42 Και ο Νοβά υπήγε και εκυρίευσε την Καινάθ και τα χωρία αυτής· και ωνόμασεν αυτήν Νοβά, από του ονόματος αυτού.
And Nabau went and took Caath and her villages, and called them Naboth after his name.
