Ἀριθμοί 16
1 Ο δε Κορέ ο υιός του Ισαάρ, υιού του Καάθ, υιού του Λευΐ, και Δαθάν και Αβειρών οι υιοί του Ελιάβ, και Ων ο υιός του Φαλέθ, υιοί Ρουβήν, εστασίασαν,
Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men;
2 και εσηκώθησαν εναντίον του Μωϋσέως μετά διακοσίων πεντήκοντα ανθρώπων εκ των υιών Ισραήλ, αρχηγών της συναγωγής, συγκλήτων της βουλής, ανδρών ονομαστών·
and they rose up in face of Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty men; they were princes of the congregation, the elect men of the assembly, men of renown;
3 και συνήχθησαν εναντίον του Μωϋσέως και εναντίον του Ααρών και είπον προς αυτούς, Αρκεί εις εσάς, διότι πάσα η συναγωγή, πάντες είναι άγιοι και ο Κύριος είναι μεταξύ αυτών· και διά τι υψόνεσθε υπεράνω της συναγωγής του Κυρίου;
and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them: 'Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them; wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?'
4 Ακούσας δε ο Μωϋσής έπεσε κατά πρόσωπον αυτού·
And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face.
5 και ελάλησε προς τον Κορέ και προς πάσαν την συνοδίαν αυτού, λέγων, Το πρωΐ θέλει φανερώσει ο Κύριος ποίοι είναι αυτού και ποίος άγιος και θέλει κάμει αυτόν να πλησιάση εις αυτόν· και όντινα εξέλεξε, τούτον θέλει κάμει να πλησιάση εις αυτόν.
And he spoke unto Korah and unto all his company, saying: 'In the morning the LORD will show who are His, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto Him; even him whom He may choose will He cause to come near unto Him.
6 Τούτο κάμετε, Λάβετε εις εαυτούς θυμιατήρια, ο Κορέ και πάσα η συνοδία αυτού·
This do: take you censors, Korah, and all his company;
7 και βάλετε επ' αυτά πυρ και επιθέσατε θυμίαμα επ' αυτά ενώπιον του Κυρίου αύριον· και ο άνθρωπος τον οποίον εκλέξη ο Κύριος, ούτος θέλει είσθαι άγιος. Αρκεί εις εσάς, υιοί Λευΐ.
and put fire therein, and put incense upon them before the LORD to-morrow; and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy; ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.'
8 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κορέ, Ακούσατε τώρα, υιοί Λευΐ.
And Moses said unto Korah: 'Hear now, ye sons of Levi:
9 Μικρόν πράγμα είναι τούτο εις εσάς, ότι εξεχώρισεν εσάς ο Θεός του Ισραήλ από της συναγωγής του Ισραήλ, διά να σας φέρη πλησίον αυτού να κάμνητε την υπηρεσίαν της σκηνής του Κυρίου και να στέκησθε έμπροσθεν της συναγωγής, διά να υπηρετήτε εις αυτούς;
is it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them;
10 και αφού σε έφερε πλησίον εαυτού και πάντας τους αδελφούς σου τους υιούς Λευΐ μετά σου, σεις ζητείτε και την ιερατείαν;
and that He hath brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee? and will ye seek the priesthood also?
11 ούτω κάμνεις, συ και πάσα η συνοδία σου, οίτινες είσθε συνηθροισμένοι εναντίον του Κυρίου· και ο Ααρών τις είναι, ώστε να γογγύζητε εναντίον αυτού;
Therefore thou and all thy company that are gathered together against the LORD —; and as to Aaron, what is he that ye murmur against him?'
12 Και έστειλεν ο Μωϋσής να καλέση τον Δαθάν και τον Αβειρών τους υιούς Ελιάβ· οι δε είπον, Δεν αναβαίνομεν·
And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said: 'We will not come up;
13 μικρόν είναι τούτο, ότι ανήγαγες ημάς εκ γης ρεούσης γάλα και μέλι, διά να θανατώσης ημάς εν τη ερήμω, και ότι ως άρχων θέλεις να κατεξουσιάζης ημάς;
is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but thou must needs make thyself also a prince over us?
14 αλλά συ δεν έφερες ημάς εις γην ρέουσαν γάλα και μέλι ουδέ έδωκας εις ημάς κληρονομίαν αγρών και αμπελώνων· τους οφθαλμούς των ανθρώπων τούτων θέλεις να εκβάλης; δεν αναβαίνομεν.
Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards; wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.'
15 Και εβαρυθύμησεν ο Μωϋσής σφόδρα και είπε προς τον Κύριον, Μη επιβλέψης εις την προσφοράν αυτών· ουδέ ένα όνον απ' αυτών έλαβον ουδέ έβλαψα τινά εξ αυτών.
And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD: 'Respect not Thou their offering; I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.'
16 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κορέ, Συ και πάσα η συνοδία σου να ήσθε ενώπιον του Κυρίου, συ, και αυτοί, και ο Ααρών, αύριον·
And Moses said unto Korah: 'Be thou and all thy congregation before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron, to-morrow;
17 και λάβετε έκαστος το θυμιατήριον αυτού και επιθέσατε θυμίαμα επ' αυτά και φέρετε ενώπιον του Κυρίου, έκαστος το θυμιατήριον αυτού, διακόσια πεντήκοντα θυμιατήρια· και συ, και ο Ααρών, έκαστος το θυμιατήριον αυτού.
and take ye every man his fire-pan, and put incense upon them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his fire-pan, two hundred and fifty fire-pans; thou also, and Aaron, each his fire-pan.'
18 Και έλαβον έκαστος το θυμιατήριον αυτού και έβαλον επ' αυτά πυρ, και επέθεσαν επ' αυτά θυμίαμα και εστάθησαν εις την θύραν της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου μετά του Μωϋσέως και του Ααρών.
And they took every man his fire-pan, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood at the door of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.
19 Και συνήγαγεν εναντίον αυτών ο Κορέ πάσαν την συναγωγήν εις την θύραν της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου. Και η δόξα του Κυρίου εφάνη εις πάσαν την συναγωγήν.
And Korah assembled all the congregation against them unto the door of the tent of meeting; and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.
20 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν και προς τον Ααρών λέγων,
And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
21 Αποχωρίσθητε εκ μέσου της συναγωγής ταύτης, διά να εξαναλώσω αυτούς διά μιας.
'Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.'
22 Και έπεσαν κατά πρόσωπον αυτών, και είπον, Ω Θεέ, Θεέ των πνευμάτων πάσης σαρκός, εις άνθρωπος ημάρτησε και θέλεις οργισθή εναντίον πάσης της συναγωγής;
And they fell upon their faces, and said: 'O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt Thou be wroth with all the congregation?'
23 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, λέγων,
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
24 Λάλησον προς την συναγωγήν, λέγων, Αναχωρήσατε από της σκηνής του Κορέ, του Δαθάν και του Αβειρών κυκλόθεν.
'Speak unto the congregation, saying: Get you up from about the dwelling of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.'
25 Και εσηκώθη ο Μωϋσής, και υπήγε προς τον Δαθάν και Αβειρών· και ηκολούθησαν αυτόν οι πρεσβύτεροι του Ισραήλ.
And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
26 Και ελάλησε προς την συναγωγήν λέγων, Αποχωρίσθητε ευθύς από των σκηνών των ασεβών τούτων ανθρώπων και μη εγγίσητε μηδέν εκ των όσα είναι αυτών, διά να μη αφανισθήτε εν μέσω πασών των αμαρτιών αυτών.
And he spoke unto the congregation, saying: 'Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be swept away in all their sins.'
27 Ανεχώρησαν λοιπόν από της σκηνής του Κορέ, του Δαθάν και του Αβειρών κυκλόθεν· και ο Δαθάν και ο Αβειρών εξήλθον, και εστάθησαν εις την θύραν των σκηνών αυτών και αι γυναίκες αυτών και οι υιοί αυτών και αι οικογένειαι αυτών.
So they got them up from the dwelling of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side; and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.
28 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής, Εκ τούτου θέλετε γνωρίσει ότι ο Κύριος με απέστειλε διά να πράξω πάντα τα έργα ταύτα, και ότι δεν έπραξα απ' εμαυτού.
And Moses said: 'Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works, and that I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 Εάν οι άνθρωποι ούτοι αποθάνωσι τον κοινόν θάνατον πάντων των ανθρώπων, ή εάν γείνη ανταπόδοσις εις αυτούς κατά την ανταπόδοσιν πάντων των ανθρώπων, δεν με απέστειλεν ο Κύριος·
If these men die the common death of all men, and be visited after the visitation of all men, then the LORD hath not sent Me.
30 εάν όμως ο Κύριος κάμη θαύμα, και ανοίξη η γη το στόμα αυτής και καταπίη αυτούς και πάντα τα αυτών και καταβώσι ζώντες εις τον άδην, τότε θέλετε γνωρίσει ότι παρώξυναν οι άνθρωποι ούτοι τον Κύριον. (Sheol h7585)
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the ground open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into the pit, then ye shall understand that these men have despised the LORD.' (Sheol h7585)
31 Και ως έπαυσε λαλών πάντας τους λόγους τούτους, εσχίσθη το έδαφος το υποκάτω αυτών.
And it came to pass, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground did cleave asunder that was under them.
32 Και η γη ήνοιξε το στόμα αυτής και κατέπιεν αυτούς και τους οίκους αυτών και πάντας τους ανθρώπους τους μετά του Κορέ και πάσαν την περιουσίαν αυτών.
And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 Και κατέβησαν αυτοί και πάντα τα αυτών ζώντες εις τον άδην, και η γη εκλείσθη επάνωθεν αυτών· και ηφανίσθησαν εκ μέσου της συναγωγής. (Sheol h7585)
So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit; and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly. (Sheol h7585)
34 Και πας ο Ισραήλ ο πέριξ αυτών έφυγον εις την βοήν αυτών, λέγοντες, Μήπως καταπίη και ημάς η γη.
And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them; for they said: 'Lest the earth swallow us up.'
35 Και πυρ εξήλθε παρά Κυρίου και κατέφαγε τους διακοσίους πεντήκοντα άνδρας τους προσφέροντας το θυμίαμα.
And fire came forth from the LORD, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.
36 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν λέγων,
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
37 Ειπέ προς τον Ελεάζαρ τον υιόν Ααρών του ιερέως, να λάβη τα θυμιατήρια από της πυρκαϊάς και το πυρ σκόρπισον εκεί· διότι είναι ηγιασμένα,
'Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the fire-pans out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are become holy;
38 τα θυμιατήρια τούτων των αμαρτησάντων εναντίον εις τας ψυχάς αυτών· και ας κάμωσιν αυτά πλάκας διά κάλυμμα του θυσιαστηρίου· επειδή ούτοι προσέφεραν αυτά ενώπιον του Κυρίου, διά τούτο είναι ηγιασμένα· και θέλουσιν είσθαι διά σημείον εις τους υιούς Ισραήλ.
even the fire-pans of these men who have sinned at the cost of their lives, and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar — for they are become holy, because they were offered before the LORD — that they may be a sign unto the children of Israel.'
39 Και έλαβεν Ελεάζαρ ο ιερεύς τα χάλκινα θυμιατήρια, τα οποία προσέφεραν οι καυθέντες· και έκαμον αυτά πλάκας διά να καλύψωσι το θυσιαστήριον·
And Eleazar the priest took the brazen fire-pans, which they that were burnt had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,
40 προς μνημόσυνον εις τους υιούς Ισραήλ, ώστε μηδείς αλλογενής, μη ων εκ του σπέρματος του Ααρών, να μη πλησιάζη διά να προσφέρη θυμίαμα ενώπιον του Κυρίου, διά να μη γείνη ως ο Κορέ και ως η συνοδία αυτού, καθώς είπε Κύριος προς αυτόν διά χειρός του Μωϋσέως.
to be a memorial unto the children of Israel, to the end that no common man, that is not of the seed of Aaron, draw near to burn incense before the LORD; that he fare not as Korah, and as his company; as the LORD spoke unto him by the hand of Moses.
41 Την δε ακόλουθον ημέραν πάσα η συναγωγή των υιών Ισραήλ εγόγγυσαν εναντίον του Μωϋσέως και του Ααρών, λέγοντες, Σεις εφονεύσατε τον λαόν του Κυρίου.
But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying: 'Ye have killed the people of the LORD.'
42 Και ενώ η συναγωγή ήτο συνηθροισμένη εναντίον του Μωϋσέως και εναντίον του Ααρών, ανέβλεψαν προς την σκηνήν του μαρτυρίου, και ιδού, η νεφέλη εσκέπασεν αυτήν, και εφάνη η δόξα του Κυρίου.
And it came to pass, when the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting; and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
43 Και ήλθεν ο Μωϋσής και ο Ααρών έμπροσθεν της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου.
And Moses and Aaron came to the front of the tent of meeting.
44 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν λέγων·
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
45 Αποσύρθητε εκ μέσου της συναγωγής ταύτης, διά να αναλώσω αυτούς διά μιας. Και έπεσον κατά πρόσωπον αυτών.
'Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.' And they fell upon their faces.
46 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Ααρών, Λάβε το θυμιατήριον και βάλε πυρ εις αυτό εκ του θυσιαστηρίου και επίθες θυμίαμα και ύπαγε ταχέως εις την συναγωγήν και κάμε εξιλέωσιν υπέρ αυτών· διότι εξήλθεν οργή παρά του Κυρίου· η πληγή ήρχισε.
And Moses said unto Aaron: 'Take thy fire-pan, and put fire therein from off the altar, and lay incense thereon, and carry it quickly unto the congregation, and make atonement for them; for there is wrath gone out from the LORD: the plague is begun.'
47 Και έλαβε το θυμιατήριον ο Ααρών, καθώς ελάλησεν ο Μωϋσής, και έδραμεν εις το μέσον της συναγωγής· και ιδού, η πληγή είχεν αρχίσει εν τω λαώ· και επέθεσε θυμίαμα και έκαμεν εξιλέωσιν υπέρ του λαού.
And Aaron took as Moses spoke, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people; and he put on the incense, and made atonement for the people.
48 Και εστάθη αναμέσον των αποθανόντων και των ζώντων, και έπαυσεν η θραύσις.
And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
49 Ήσαν δε οι αποθανόντες εις την θραύσιν δεκατέσσαρες χιλιάδες και επτακόσιοι, εκτός των αποθανόντων εξ αιτίας του Κορέ.
Now they that died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides them that died about the matter of Korah.
50 Και επέστρεψεν ο Ααρών προς τον Μωϋσήν, εις την θύραν της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου· και έπαυσεν η θραύσις.
And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tent of meeting, and the plague was stayed.
