Ἔσδρας Βʹ 7
1 Αφού δε το τείχος εκτίσθη, και έστησα τας θύρας, και διωρίσθησαν οι πυλωροί και οι ψαλτωδοί και οι Λευΐται,
And it comes to pass, when the wall has been built, that I set up the doors, and the gatekeepers are appointed, and the singers, and the Levites,
2 προσέταξα περί της Ιερουσαλήμ τον αδελφόν μου Ανανί και τον Ανανίαν τον άρχοντα του φρουρίου· διότι ήτο ως άνθρωπος πιστός και φοβούμενος τον Θεόν, υπέρ πολλούς.
and I charge my brother Hanani, and Hananiah head of the palace, concerning Jerusalem—for he [is] as a man of truth, and fearing God above many—
3 Και είπα προς αυτούς, Ας μη ανοίγωνται αι πύλαι της Ιερουσαλήμ εωσού θερμάνη ο ήλιος· και εκείνων έτι παρόντων, να κλείωνται αι θύραι και να ασφαλίζωνται και φυλακαί να διορίζωνται εκ των κατοίκων της Ιερουσαλήμ, έκαστος εν τη φυλακή αυτού και έκαστος απέναντι της οικίας αυτού.
and I say to them, “Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the heat of the sun, and while they are standing by let them shut the doors, and fasten, and appoint guards of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his watch, and each in front of his house.”
4 Και η πόλις ήτο ευρύχωρος και μεγάλη, ο δε λαός ολίγος εν αυτή, και οικίαι δεν ήσαν ωκοδομημέναι.
And the city [is] broad on both sides, and great, and the people [are] few in its midst, and there are no houses built;
5 Και έβαλεν ο Θεός μου εν τη καρδία μου να συνάξω τους προκρίτους και τους προεστώτας και τον λαόν, διά να αριθμηθώσι κατά γενεαλογίαν. Και εύρηκα βιβλίον της γενεαλογίας εκείνων, οίτινες ανέβησαν κατ' αρχάς και εύρηκα γεγραμμένον εν αυτώ.
and my God puts it to my heart, and I gather the nobles, and the prefects, and the people, for the genealogy, and I find a scroll of the genealogy of those coming up at the beginning, and I find written in it:
6 Ούτοι είναι οι άνθρωποι της επαρχίας, οι αναβάντες εκ της αιχμαλωσίας, εκ των μετοικισθέντων, τους οποίους μετώκισε Ναβουχοδονόσορ ο βασιλεύς της Βαβυλώνος, και επιστρέψαντες εις Ιερουσαλήμ και εις την Ιουδαίαν, έκαστος εις την πόλιν αυτού·
These [are] sons of the province, those coming up of the captives of the expulsion that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed—and they return to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his city—
7 οι ελθόντες μετά Ζοροβάβελ, Ιησού, Νεεμία, Αζαρία, Ρααμία, Νααμανί, Μαροδοχαίου, Βιλσάν, Μισπερέθ, Βιγουαί, Νεούμ, Βαανά. Αριθμός των ανδρών του λαού Ισραήλ·
who are coming in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
8 υιοί Φαρώς, δισχίλιοι εκατόν εβδομήκοντα δύο.
sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two;
9 Υιοί Σεφατία, τριακόσιοι εβδομήκοντα δύο.
sons of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy-two;
10 Υιοί Αράχ, εξακόσιοι πεντήκοντα δύο.
sons of Arah, six hundred fifty-two;
11 Υιοί Φαάθ-μωάβ, εκ των υιών Ιησού και Ιωάβ, δισχίλιοι και οκτακόσιοι δεκαοκτώ.
sons of Pahath-Moab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred [and] eighteen;
12 Υιοί Ελάμ, χίλιοι διακόσιοι πεντήκοντα τέσσαρες.
sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred fifty-four;
13 Υιοί Ζατθού, οκτακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε.
sons of Zattu, eight hundred forty-five;
14 Υιοί Ζακχαί, επτακόσιοι εξήκοντα.
sons of Zaccai, seven hundred and sixty;
15 Υιοί Βιννουΐ, εξακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα οκτώ.
sons of Binnui, six hundred forty-eight;
16 Υιοί Βηβαΐ, εξακόσιοι εικοσιοκτώ.
sons of Bebai, six hundred twenty-eight;
17 Υιοί Αζγάδ, δισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι εικοσιδύο.
sons of Azgad, two thousand three hundred twenty-two;
18 Υιοί Αδωνικάμ, εξακόσιοι εξήκοντα επτά.
sons of Adonikam, six hundred sixty-seven;
19 Υιοί Βιγουαί, δισχίλιοι εξήκοντα επτά.
sons of Bigvai, two thousand sixty-seven;
20 Υιοί Αδίν, εξακόσιοι πεντήκοντα πέντε.
sons of Adin, six hundred fifty-five;
21 Υιοί Ατήρ εκ του Εζεκίου, ενενήκοντα οκτώ.
sons of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety-eight;
22 Υιοί Ασούμ, τριακόσιοι εικοσιοκτώ.
sons of Hashum, three hundred twenty-eight;
23 Υιοί Βησαί, τριακόσιοι εικοσιτέσσαρες.
sons of Bezai, three hundred twenty-four;
24 Υιοί Αρίφ, εκατόν δώδεκα.
sons of Hariph, one hundred [and] twelve;
25 Υιοί Γαβαών, ενενήκοντα πέντε.
sons of Gibeon, ninety-five;
26 Άνδρες Βηθλεέμ και Νετωφά, εκατόν ογδοήκοντα οκτώ.
men of Beth-Lehem and Netophah, one hundred eighty-eight;
27 Άνδρες Αναθώθ, εκατόν εικοσιοκτώ.
men of Anathoth, one hundred twenty-eight;
28 Άνδρες Βαιθ-ασμαβέθ, τεσσαράκοντα δύο.
men of Beth-Azmaveth, forty-two;
29 Άνδρες Κιριάθ-ιαρείμ, Χεφειρά, και Βηρώθ, επτακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα τρεις.
men of Kirjath-Jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred forty-three;
30 Άνδρες Ραμά και Γαβαά, εξακόσιοι είκοσι και εις.
men of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred twenty-one;
31 Άνδρες Μιχμάς, εκατόν εικοσιδύο.
men of Michmas, one hundred and twenty-two;
32 Άνδρες Βαιθήλ, και Γαί, εκατόν εικοσιτρείς.
men of Bethel and Ai, one hundred twenty-three;
33 Άνδρες της άλλης Νεβώ, πεντήκοντα δύο.
men of the other Nebo, fifty-two;
34 Υιοί του άλλου Ελάμ, χίλιοι διακόσιοι πεντήκοντα τέσσαρες.
sons of the other Elam, one thousand two hundred fifty-four;
35 Υιοί Χαρήμ, τριακόσιοι είκοσι.
sons of Harim, three hundred and twenty;
36 Υιοί Ιεριχώ, τριακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε.
sons of Jericho, three hundred forty-five;
37 Υιοί Λωδ, Αδίδ, και Ωνώ, επτακόσιοι είκοσι και εις.
sons of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-one;
38 Υιοί Σεναά, τρισχίλιοι εννεακόσιοι τριάκοντα.
sons of Senaah, three thousand nine hundred and thirty.
39 Οι ιερείς· υιοί Ιεδαΐα, εκ του οίκου Ιησού, εννεακόσιοι εβδομήκοντα τρεις.
The priests: sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy-three;
40 Υιοί Ιμμήρ, χίλιοι πεντήκοντα δύο.
sons of Immer, one thousand fifty-two;
41 Υιοί Πασχώρ, χίλιοι διακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα επτά.
sons of Pashur, one thousand two hundred forty-seven;
42 Υιοί Χαρήμ, χίλιοι δεκαεπτά.
sons of Harim, one thousand and seventeen.
43 Οι Λευΐται· υιοί Ιησού εκ του Καδμιήλ, εκ των υιών Ωδαυΐα, εβδομήκοντα τέσσαρες.
The Levites: sons of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, of sons of Hodevah, seventy-four.
44 Οι ψαλτωδοί· υιοί Ασάφ, εκατόν τεσσαράκοντα οκτώ.
The singers: sons of Asaph, one hundred forty-eight.
45 Οι πυλωροί· υιοί Σαλλούμ, υιοί Ατήρ, υιοί Ταλμών, υιοί Ακκούβ, υιοί Ατιτά, υιοί Σωβαί, εκατόν τριάκοντα οκτώ.
The gatekeepers: sons of Shallum, sons of Ater, sons of Talmon, sons of Akkub, sons of Hatita, sons of Shobai: one hundred thirty-eight.
46 Οι Νεθινείμ· υιοί Σιχά, υιοί Ασουφά, υιοί Ταββαώθ,
The Nethinim: sons of Ziha, sons of Hasupha, sons of Tabbaoth,
47 υιοί Κηρώς, υιοί Σιαά, υιοί Φαδών,
sons of Keros, sons of Sia, sons of Padon,
48 υιοί Λεβανά, υιοί Αγαβά, υιοί Σαλμαί,
sons of Lebanah, sons of Hagaba, sons of Shalmai,
49 υιοί Ανάν, υιοί Γιδδήλ, υιοί Γαάρ,
sons of Hanan, sons of Giddel, sons of Gahar,
50 υιοί Ρεαΐα, υιοί Ρεσίν, υιοί Νεκωδά,
sons of Reaiah, sons of Rezin, sons of Nekoda,
51 υιοί Γαζάμ, υιοί Ουζά, υιοί Φασεά,
sons of Gazzam, sons of Uzza, sons of Phaseah,
52 υιοί Βησαί, υιοί Μεουνείμ, υιοί Ναφουσεσείμ,
sons of Bezai, sons of Meunim, sons of Nephishesim,
53 υιοί Βακβούκ, υιοί Ακουφά, υιοί Αρούρ,
sons of Bakbuk, sons of Hakupha, sons of Harhur,
54 υιοί Βασλίθ, υιοί Μεϊδά, υιοί Αρσά,
sons of Bazlith, sons of Mehida, sons of Harsha,
55 υιοί Βαρκώς, υιοί Σισάρα, υιοί Θαμά,
sons of Barkos, sons of Sisera, sons of Tamah,
56 υιοί Νεσιά, υιοί Ατιφά.
sons of Neziah, sons of Hatipha.
57 Οι υιοί των δούλων του Σολομώντος· υιοί Σωταΐ, υιοί Σωφερέθ, υιοί Φερειδά,
Sons of the servants of Solomon: sons of Sotai, sons of Sophereth, sons of Perida,
58 υιοί Ιααλά, υιοί Δαρκών, υιοί Γιδδήλ,
sons of Jaala, sons of Darkon, sons of Giddel,
59 υιοί Σεφατία, υιοί Αττίλ, υιοί Φοχερέθ από Σεβαΐμ, υιοί Αμών.
sons of Shephatiah, sons of Hattil, sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, sons of Amon.
60 Πάντες οι Νεθινείμ, και οι υιοί των δούλων του Σολομώντος, ήσαν τριακόσιοι ενενήκοντα δύο.
All the Nethinim and the sons of the servants of Solomon [are] three hundred ninety-two.
61 Ούτοι δε ήσαν οι αναβάντες από Θελ-μελάχ, Θελ-αρησά, Χερούβ, Αδδών, και Ιμμήρ· δεν ηδύναντο όμως να δείξωσι τον οίκον της πατριάς αυτών και το σπέρμα αυτών, αν ήσαν εκ του Ισραήλ·
And these [are] those coming up from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer—and they have not been able to declare the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they [are] of Israel—
62 Υιοί Δαλαΐα, υιοί Τωβία, υιοί Νεκωδά, εξακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα δύο.
sons of Delaiah, sons of Tobiah, sons of Nekoda, six hundred forty-two.
63 Και εκ των ιερέων· υιοί Αβαΐα, υιοί Ακκώς, υιοί Βαρζελλαΐ, όστις έλαβε γυναίκα εκ των θυγατέρων Βαρζελλαΐ του Γαλααδίτου και ωνομάσθη κατά το όνομα αυτών.
And of the priests: sons of Habaiah, sons of Koz, sons of Barzillai (who has taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and is called by their name).
64 Ούτοι εζήτησαν την καταγραφήν αυτών μεταξύ των απαριθμηθέντων κατά γενεαλογίαν, και δεν ευρέθη· όθεν εξεβλήθησαν από της ιερατείας.
These have sought their register among those reckoning themselves by genealogy, and it has not been found, and they are redeemed from the priesthood,
65 Και είπε προς αυτούς ο Θιρσαθά, να μη φάγωσιν από των αγιωτάτων πραγμάτων, εωσού αναστηθή ιερεύς μετά Ουρίμ και Θουμμίμ.
and the Tirshatha says to them that they do not eat of the most holy things until the standing up of the priest with [the] Lights and Perfections.
66 Πάσα η σύναξις ομού ήσαν τεσσαράκοντα δύο χιλιάδες τριακόσιοι εξήκοντα,
All the assembly together [is] forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
67 εκτός των δούλων αυτών και των θεραπαινίδων αυτών, οίτινες ήσαν επτακισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι τριάκοντα επτά· και πλην τούτων διακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε ψαλτωδοί και ψάλτριαι.
apart from their servants and their handmaids—these [are] seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven; and of them [are] male and female singers, two hundred forty-five.
68 Οι ίπποι αυτών, επτακόσιοι τριάκοντα έξ· αι ημίονοι αυτών, διακόσιαι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε·
Their horses [are] seven hundred thirty-six; their mules, two hundred [and] forty-five;
69 αι κάμηλοι, τετρακόσιαι τριάκοντα πέντε· αι όνοι, εξακισχίλιαι επτακόσιαι είκοσι.
camels, four hundred thirty-five; donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
70 Και τινές εκ των αρχηγών των πατριών έδωκαν διά το έργον. Ο Θιρσαθά έδωκεν εις το θησαυροφυλάκιον χιλίας δραχμάς χρυσίου, πεντήκοντα φιάλας, πεντακοσίους τριάκοντα ιερατικούς χιτώνας.
And from the extremity of the heads of the fathers they have given to the work; the Tirshatha has given to the treasure, one thousand drams of gold, fifty bowls, five hundred and thirty priests’ coats.
71 Και τινές εκ των αρχηγών των πατριών έδωκαν εις το θησαυροφυλάκιον του έργου είκοσι χιλιάδας δραχμάς χρυσίου και δύο χιλιάδας διακοσίας μνας αργυρίου.
And of the heads of the fathers they have given to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver.
72 Και το δοθέν από του επιλοίπου λαού ήτο είκοσι χιλιάδες δραχμαί χρυσίου, και δισχίλιαι μναι αργυρίου, και εξήκοντα επτά ιερατικοί χιτώνες.
And that which the rest of the people have given [is] twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests’ coats.
73 Ούτως οι ιερείς και οι Λευΐται και οι πυλωροί και οι ψαλτωδοί και μέρος εκ του λαού και οι Νεθινείμ και πας ο Ισραήλ, κατώκησαν εν ταις πόλεσιν αυτών. Και ότε έφθασεν ο έβδομος μην, οι υιοί Ισραήλ ήσαν εν ταις πόλεσιν αυτών.
And they dwell—the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and [some] of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel—in their cities, and the seventh month comes, and the sons of Israel [are] in their cities.
