Ἔσδρας Βʹ 13

1 Εν τη ημέρα εκείνη ανεγνώσθη εν τω βιβλίω του Μωϋσέως εις τα ώτα του λαού· και ευρέθη γεγραμμένον εν αυτώ, ότι οι Αμμωνίται και οι Μωαβίται δεν έπρεπε να εισέλθωσιν εις την συναγωγήν του Θεού έως αιώνος·

On the day that it was read aloud in [the] scroll of Moses in [the] ears of the people and it was found written in it that not he will come an Ammonite and a Moabite in [the] assembly of God until perpetuity.

2 διότι δεν προϋπήντησαν τους υιούς Ισραήλ μετά άρτου και μετά ύδατος, αλλ' εμίσθωσαν τον Βαλαάμ εναντίον αυτών, διά να καταρασθή αυτούς· πλην ο Θεός ημών έτρεψε την κατάραν εις ευλογίαν.

For not they had met [the] people of Israel with food and with water and he had hired on it Balaam to curse it and he turned God our the curse into blessing.

3 Και ως ήκουσαν τον νόμον, εχώρισαν από του Ισραήλ πάντα αλλογενή.

And it was when heard they the law and they separated every person of mixed ancestry from Israel.

4 Προ τούτου δε Ελιασείβ ο ιερεύς, όστις είχε την επιστασίαν των οικημάτων του οίκου του Θεού ημών, είχε συγγενεύσει μετά του Τωβία·

And before from this Eliashib the priest [was] appointed over [the] store-room of [the] house of God our [one] near to Tobiah.

5 και είχεν ετοιμάσει δι' αυτόν μέγα οίκημα, όπου πρότερον έθετον τας εξ αλφίτων προσφοράς, το λιβάνιον και τα σκεύη και τα δέκατα του σίτου, του οίνου και του ελαίου, το διατεταγμένον των Λευϊτών και των ψαλτωδών και των πυλωρών και τας προσφοράς των ιερέων.

And he made for him a room large and there people were before putting the grain offering the frankincense and the utensils and [the] tithe of the grain the new wine and the fresh oil [the] commandment of the Levites and the singers and the gatekeepers and [the] contribution of the priests.

6 Πλην εν πάσι τούτοις εγώ δεν ήμην εν Ιερουσαλήμ· διότι εν τω τριακοστώ δευτέρω έτει Αρταξέρξου του βασιλέως της Βαβυλώνος ήλθον προς τον βασιλέα και μεθ' ημέρας τινάς εζήτησα παρά του βασιλέως,

And in all this not I was in Jerusalem for in year thirty and two of Artaxerxes [the] king of Babylon I had gone to the king and to [the] end of days I requested leave of absence from the king.

7 και ήλθον εις Ιερουσαλήμ και έμαθον το κακόν, το οποίον ο Ελιασείβ έκαμε χάριν του Τωβία, ετοιμάσας εις αυτόν οίκημα εν ταις αυλαίς του οίκου του Θεού.

And I came to Jerusalem and I perceived! the evil thing which he had done Eliashib for Tobiah by making for him a room in [the] courtyards of [the] house of God.

8 Και δυσηρεστήθην πολύ· και έρριψα έξω του οικήματος πάντα τα σκεύη του οίκου του Τωβία.

And it was displeasing to me exceedingly and I threw! all [the] articles of [the] household of Tobiah the outside from the room.

9 Και προσέταξα, και εκαθάρισαν τα οικήματα· και επανέφερα εκεί τα σκεύη του οίκου του Θεού, τας εξ αλφίτων προσφοράς και το λιβάνιον.

And I said! and people purified the store-rooms and I brought back! there [the] utensils of [the] house of God the grain offering and the frankincense.

10 Και έμαθον ότι τα μερίδια των Λευΐτών δεν εδόθησαν εις αυτούς· διότι οι Λευΐται και οι ψαλτωδοί, οι ποιούντες το έργον, έφυγον έκαστος εις τον αγρόν αυτού.

And I perceived! that [the] portions of the Levites not it had been given and they had fled each one to own field his the Levites and the singers [who] did the work.

11 Και επέπληξα τους προεστώτας και είπα, Διά τι εγκατελείφθη ο οίκος του Θεού; Και εσύναξα αυτούς και αποκατέστησα αυτούς εις την θέσιν αυτών.

And I contended! with the officials and I said! why? has it been neglected [the] house of God and I assembled them and I made stand them at place their.

12 Τότε έφερε πας ο Ιούδας εις τας αποθήκας το δέκατον του σίτου και του οίνου και του ελαίου.

And all Judah they brought [the] tithe of the grain and the new wine and the fresh oil to the storerooms.

13 Και κατέστησα φύλακας επί των αποθηκών, Σελεμίαν τον ιερέα και Σαδώκ τον γραμματέα και εκ των Λευΐτών· τον Φεδαΐαν· και πλησίον αυτών, Ανάν τον υιόν του Ζακχούρ, υιού του Ματθανία· διότι ελογίζοντο πιστοί· το έργον δε αυτών ήτο να διανέμωσιν εις τους αδελφούς αυτών.

And I appointed as treasurers! over [the] storerooms Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe and Pedaiah one of the Levites and [was] on hand their Hanan [the] son of Zaccur [the] son of Mattaniah for reliable they were thought and [was] on them to distribute to brothers their.

14 Μνήσθητί μου, Θεέ μου, περί τούτου, και μη εξαλείψης τα ελέη μου, τα οποία έκαμα εις τον οίκον του Θεού μου και εις τας τελετάς αυτού.

Remember! to me O God my on this and may not you wipe out loyalti my which I have done in [the] house of God my and in services its.

15 Εν εκείναις ταις ημέραις είδόν τινάς εν Ιούδα ληνοπατούντας εν σαββάτω και εισφέροντας δράγματα και επιφορτίζοντας επί όνους, και οίνον, σταφύλια και σύκα και παν είδος φορτίων, τα οποία έφερον εις Ιερουσαλήμ την ημέραν του σαββάτου· και διεμαρτυρήθην εν τη ημέρα, καθ' ην επώλουν τρόφιμα.

In the days those I saw in Judah - [some who] trod winepresses - on the sabbath and [some who] brought heaps of grain and [some who] loaded [them] on donkeys and also wine grapes and figs and every load and [some who] brought [them] Jerusalem on [the] day of the sabbath and I protested on [the] day sold they food.

16 Και οι Τύριοι, οι κατοικούντες εν αυτή, έφερον ιχθύας και παν είδος ωνίων και επώλουν εν σαββάτω εις τους υιούς Ιούδα και εν Ιερουσαλήμ.

And the Tyrians [who] they dwelt in it [were] bringing fish and every merchandise and [were] selling [it] on the sabbath to [the] people of Judah and in Jerusalem.

17 Και επέπληξα τους προκρίτους του Ιούδα και είπα προς αυτούς, Τι είναι το πράγμα τούτο το κακόν, το οποίον σεις κάμνετε, βεβηλούντες την ημέραν του σαββάτου;

And I contended! with [the] nobles of Judah and I said! to them what? [is] the thing evil this which you [are] doing and [are] profaning [the] day of the sabbath.

18 δεν έκαμνον ούτως οι πατέρες σας, και έφερεν ο Θεός ημών πάντα ταύτα τα κακά εφ' ημάς και επί την πόλιν ταύτην; αλλά σεις επαναφέρετε οργήν επί τον Ισραήλ, βεβηλούντες το σάββατον.

¿ Not thus did they do ancestors your and he brought God our on us all the trouble this and on the city this and you [are] increasing anger toward Israel by profaning the sabbath.

19 Διά τούτο, ότε ήρχιζε να συσκοτάζη εις τας πύλας της Ιερουσαλήμ προ του σαββάτου, είπα, και έκλεισαν τας πύλας, και προσέταξα να μη ανοιχθώσιν έως μετά το σάββατον· και κατέστησα επί τας πύλας τινάς εκ των υπηρετών μου, διά να μη εισέλθη φορτίον την ημέραν του σαββάτου.

And it was just when they became dark [the] gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath and I said! and they were closed the doors and I said! that not people will open them until after the sabbath and some of servants my I stationed at the gates not it will come a load on [the] day of the sabbath.

20 Και διενυκτέρευσαν οι έμποροι και οι πωληταί παντός είδους ωνίων έξω της Ιερουσαλήμ άπαξ και δις.

And they passed [the] night the traders and [the] sellers of every merchandise from [the] outside of Jerusalem a time and two [times].

21 Τότε διεμαρτυρήθην εναντίον αυτών και είπα προς αυτούς, Διά τι διανυκτερεύετε έμπροσθεν του τείχους; εάν δευτερώσητε, θέλω βάλει χείρα επάνω σας. Έκτοτε δεν ήλθον εν σαββάτω.

And I warned! them and I said! to them why? [are] you passing [the] night before the wall if you will do [it] again a hand I will stretch out on you from the time that not they came on the sabbath.

22 Και είπα προς τους Λευΐτας να καθαρίζωνται και να έρχωνται να φυλάττωσι τας πύλας, διά να αγιάζωσι την ημέραν του σαββάτου. Μνήσθητί μου, Θεέ μου, και περί τούτου, και ελέησόν με κατά το πλήθος του ελέους σου.

And I said! to the Levites that they will be purifying themselves and coming guarding the gates to keep holy [the] day of the sabbath also this remember! to me O God my and have mercy! on me according to [the] greatness of covenant loyalty your.

23 Προσέτι εν ταις ημέραις εκείναις είδον τους Ιουδαίους τους λαβόντας γυναίκας Αζωτίας, Αμμωνίτιδας και Μωαβίτιδας·

Also - in the days those I saw the Jews [who] they had married women (Ashdodite Ammonite *Q(k)*) Moabite.

24 και τα τέκνα αυτών λαλούντα ήμισυ Αζωτιστί, και μη εξεύροντα να λαλήσωσιν Ιουδαϊστί αλλά κατά την γλώσσαν διαφόρων λαών.

And children their half [were] speaking Ashdodite and not they [were] knowing to speak [in] Judean and according to [the] language of people and people.

25 Και επέπληξα αυτούς και κατηράσθην αυτούς, και ερράβδισα τινάς εξ αυτών και ετριχομάδησα αυτούς, και ώρκισα αυτούς εις τον Θεόν, λέγων, Δεν θέλετε δώσει τας θυγατέρας σας εις τους υιούς αυτών, και δεν θέλετε λάβει εκ των θυγατέρων αυτών εις τους υιούς σας ή εις εαυτούς·

And I contended with them and I cursed them and I struck some of them men and I pulled out beard their and I made take an oath them by God if you will give daughters your to sons their and if you will take any of daughters their for sons your and for yourselves.

26 δεν ημάρτησεν ούτω Σολομών ο βασιλεύς του Ισραήλ; καίτοι μεταξύ πολλών εθνών δεν υπήρξε βασιλεύς όμοιος αυτού, όστις ήτο αγαπώμενος υπό του Θεού αυτού, και έκαμεν αυτόν ο Θεός βασιλέα επί πάντα τον Ισραήλ· αλλ' όμως και αυτόν αι ξέναι γυναίκες έκαμον να αμαρτήση·

¿ Not on these did he sin Solomon [the] king of Israel and among the nations many not he was a king like him and loved by God his he was and he made him God king over all Israel also him they caused to sin the wives foreign.

27 θέλομεν λοιπόν συγκατανεύσει εις εσάς να κάμνητε άπαν τούτο το μέγα κακόν, να γίνησθε παραβάται εναντίον εις τον Θεόν ημών λαμβάνοντες ξένας γυναίκας;

And to you ¿ is it heard to do all the evil great this to act unfaithfully against God our by marrying wives foreign.

28 Και εις εκ των υιών του Ιωαδά, υιού του Ελιασείβ του ιερέως του μεγάλου, ήτο γαμβρός Σαναβαλλάτ του Ορωνίτου· όθεν απεδίωξα αυτόν απ' έμπροσθέν μου.

And one of [the] sons of Joiada [the] son of Eliashib the priest great [was] a son-in-law of Sanballat the Horonite and I drove away him from with me.

29 Μνήσθητι αυτών, Θεέ μου, διότι εβεβήλωσαν την ιερατείαν και την διαθήκην της ιερατείας και των Λευϊτών.

Remember! to them O God my on [the] defilement of the priesthood and [the] covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.

30 Και εκαθάρισα αυτούς από πάντων των ξένων, και διώρισα φυλακάς εκ των ιερέων και των Λευΐτών, έκαστον εις τα έργα αυτού·

And I purified them from all foreignness and I assigned! duties to the priests and to the Levites each one in own work his.

31 και διά την προσφοράν των ξύλων εν καιροίς ωρισμένοις, και διά τας απαρχάς. Μνήσθητί μου, Θεέ μου, επ' αγαθώ.

And for [the] offering of the wood at times appointed and for the first-fruits remember! to me O God my for good.
