1 Ουαί εις την πόλιν των αιμάτων· όλη είναι πλήρης ψεύδους και αρπαγής· το θήραμα δεν απολείπει.
Wo to the citee of bloodis, al of leesyng, ful of to-reendyng; raueyn shal not go awei fro thee.
2 Φωνή μαστίγων ακούεται και φωνή θορύβου τροχών και ίππων ορμώντων και αρμάτων αναπηδώντων,
Vois of scourge, and vois of bire of wheel, and of hors makynge noise, and of foure horsid carte brennynge, and of kniyt stiynge vp,
3 ιππέως αναβαίνοντος και ρομφαίας στιλβούσης και λόγχης εξαστραπτούσης, και πλήθος τραυματιζομένων και μέγας αριθμός πτωμάτων, και δεν είναι τέλος των πτωμάτων· προσκόπτουσιν εις τα πτώματα αυτών·
and of schynynge swerd, and glesenynge spere, and of slayn multitude, and of greuouse fallyng, nether ther is eende of careyns. And thei schulen falle togidere in her bodies,
4 από του πλήθους των πορνειών της θελκτικής πόρνης, της εμπείρου εις γοητείας, ήτις πωλεί έθνη διά των πορνειών αυτής και φυλάς διά των γοητειών αυτής.
for the multitude of fornicaciouns of the hoore fair and plesaunt, and hauynge witchecraftis; which seelde folkis in her fornicaciouns, and meynees in her enchauntementis, ether sorceries.
5 Ιδού, εγώ είμαι εναντίον σου, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· και θέλω ανασηκώσει τα κράσπεδά σου επί το πρόσωπόν σου, και θέλω δείξει εις τα έθνη την αισχύνην σου και εις τα βασίλεια την ατιμίαν σου.
Lo! Y to thee, seith the Lord God of oostis; and Y schal schewe thi schameful thingis in thi face; and Y schal schewe to folkis thi nakidnesse, and to rewmes thin yuel fame.
6 Και θέλω ρίψει βδελυράν ακαθαρσίαν επί σε και θέλω σε καταισχύνει και θέλω σε καταστήσει εις θέαμα.
And Y schal cast out on thee thin abhomynaciouns, and Y schal punysche thee with dispitis, and Y schal putte thee in to ensaumple.
7 Και πάντες οι βλέποντές σε θέλουσι φεύγει από σου και θέλουσι λέγει, Η Νινευή ηρημώθη· τις θέλει συλλυπηθή αυτήν; πόθεν θέλω ζητήσει παρηγορητάς διά σε;
And it schal be, ech man that schal se thee, schal skippe awei fro thee, and schal seie, Nynyue is distried. Who schal moue heed on thee? wherof schal Y seke to thee a coumfortour?
8 είσαι καλητέρα της Νω Αμμών, της κειμένης μεταξύ των ποταμών, της περικυκλουμένης από υδάτων, της οποίας προμαχών ήτο η θάλασσα και τείχος αυτής το πέλαγος;
Whether thou art betere than Alisaundre of puplis, that dwellith in floodis? Watris ben in cumpas therof, whos richessis is the see, watris ben wallis therof.
9 Η Αιθιοπία ήτο η ισχύς αυτής και η Αίγυπτος και άλλοι απέραντοι· η Φούθ και οι Λίβυες ήσαν οι βοηθοί σου.
Ethiope is strengthe therof, and Egipt, and there is noon ende; Affrik and Libie weren in help therof.
10 Αλλά και αυτή μετωκίσθη, υπήγεν εις αιχμαλωσίαν, τα δε νήπια αυτής συνετρίφθησαν επί των άκρων πασών των οδών· και έρριψαν κλήρους επί τους ενδόξους αυτής άνδρας, και πάντες οι μεγιστάνες αυτής εδέθησαν με αλύσεις.

11 Και συ θέλεις μεθυσθή, θέλεις μένει αφανής· και συ θέλεις ζητήσει δύναμιν εναντίον του εχθρού.
And thou therfor schalt be drunkun, and schalt be dispisid, and thou schalt seke helpe of enemye.
12 Πάντα τα οχυρώματά σου θέλουσιν είσθαι ως συκαί με τα πρωτοφανή σύκα αυτών· εάν σεισθώσι, θέλουσι βεβαίως πέσει εις το στόμα του τρώγοντος.
Al thi strengthis as a fige tree, with hise figis vnripe; if thei schulen be schakun, thei schulen falle in to the mouth of the etere.
13 Ιδού, ο λαός σου είναι γυναίκες εν μέσω σου· αι πύλαι της γης σου θέλουσιν είσθαι όλως ανεωγμέναι εις τους εχθρούς σου· το πυρ θέλει καταφάγει τους μοχλούς σου.
Lo! thi puple ben wymmen in the myddil of thee; the yatis of thi lond schulen be schewid to openyng to thin enemyes; fier schal deuoure thin herris.
14 Ανάσυρον εις σεαυτόν ύδωρ διά την πολιορκίαν, ενδυνάμωσον τα οχυρώματά σου· είσελθε εις τον πηλόν και πάτησον την άργιλλον, επισκεύασον την κεραμικήν κάμινον·
Drawe vp to thee water for asegyng, bilde thi strengthis; entre in fen, and trede, thou vndurgoynge holde a tiel stoon.
15 εκεί θέλει σε καταφάγει το πύρ· η ρομφαία θέλει σε εξολοθρεύσει, θέλει σε καταφάγει ως βρούχος· πληθύνου ως βρούχος, πληθύνου ως ακρίς.
There fier schal ete thee, thou schalt perische bi swerd, it schal deuoure thee, as bruke doith; be thou gaderid togidere as a bruke, be thou multiplied as a locuste.
16 Επλήθυνας τους εμπόρους σου υπέρ τα άστρα του ουρανού· ο βρούχος εξηπλώθη και εξεπέταξεν.
Thou madist thi marchaundises mo than ben sterris of heuene; a bruke is spred abrood, and flei awei.
17 Οι μεγιστάνές σου είναι ως ακρίδες και οι σατράπαι σου ως μεγάλαι ακρίδες, αίτινες επικάθηνται επί τους φραγμούς εν ημέρα ψύχους· αλλ' όταν ο ήλιος ανατείλη, φεύγουσι και ο τόπος αυτών δεν γνωρίζεται που ήσαν.
Thi keperis ben as locustis, and thi litle children ben as locustis of locustis, whiche sitten togidere in heggis in the dai of coold; the sun is risun, and thei fledden awei, and the place of hem is not knowun, where thei weren.
18 Οι ποιμένες σου ενύσταξαν, βασιλεύ της Ασσυρίας· οι δυνατοί σου απεκοιμήθησαν· ο λαός σου εσκορπίσθη επί τα όρη και δεν υπάρχει ο συνάγων.
Thi scheepherdis napten, thou kyng Assur, thi princes schulen be biried; thi puple ofte was hid in hillis, and ther is not that schal gadere.
19 Δεν είναι ίασις εις το σύντριμμά σου· η πληγή σου είναι χαλεπή· πάντες οι ακούοντες την αγγελίαν σου θέλουσι κροτήσει χείρας επί σέ· διότι επί τίνα δεν επήλθε πάντοτε η κακία σου;
Thi sorewe is not priuy, thi wounde is worst; alle men that herden thin heryng, pressiden togidere hond on thee, for on whom passide not thi malice euermore?
