Ναούμ 2
1 Ο κατασυντρίβων ανέβη έμπροσθεν του προσώπου σου· φύλαττε το οχύρωμα, σκόπευσον την οδόν, ενίσχυσον τας οσφύς, ενδυνάμωσον την ισχύν σου σφόδρα.
He is come up that shall destroy before thy face, that shall keep the siege: watch the way, fortify thy loins, strengthen thy power exceedingly.
2 Επειδή ο Κύριος απέστρεψε την δόξαν του Ιακώβ καθώς την δόξαν του Ισραήλ· διότι οι τινακταί εξετίναξαν αυτούς και διέφθειραν τα κλήματα αυτών.
For the Lord hath rendered the pride of Jacob, as the pride of Israel: because the spoilers have laid them waste, and have marred their vine branches.
3 Η ασπίς των ισχυρών αυτού είναι κοκκινοβαφής, οι άνδρες δυνάμεως ενδεδυμένοι ερυθρά· αι άμαξαι θέλουσι κινείσθαι με σίδηρον λάμποντα εν τη ημέρα της ετοιμασίας αυτού, και τα ελάτινα δόρατα θέλουσι σεισθή τρομερά.
The shield of his mighty men is like fire, the men of the army are clad in scarlet, the reins of the chariot are flaming in the day of his preparation, and the drivers are stupefied.
4 Αι άμαξαι θέλουσι θορυβείσθαι εν ταις οδοίς, θέλουσι συγκρούεσθαι η μία μετά της άλλης εν ταις πλατείαις· η θέα αυτών θέλει είσθαι ως λαμπάδες, θέλουσι τρέχει ως αστραπαί.
They are in confusion in the ways, the chariots jostle one against another in the streets: their looks are like torches, like lightning running to and fro.
5 Θέλει ενθυμηθή τους ανδρείους αυτού· αλλά θέλουσι κατολισθήσει εν τη οδώ αυτών· θέλουσι σπεύσει εις τα τείχη αυτής και ο συνασπισμός θέλει ετοιμασθή.
He will muster up his valiant men, they shall stumble in their march: they shall quickly get upon the walls thereof: and a covering shall be prepared.
6 Αι πύλαι των ποταμών θέλουσιν ανοιχθή και τα παλάτια θέλουσι διαλυθή.
The gates of the rivers are opened, and the temple is thrown down to the ground.
7 Και η καθεστώσα θέλει γυμνωθή, θέλει μετοικισθή, και αι δούλαι αυτής θέλουσιν αναδίδει στεναγμούς ως η φωνή των περιστερών, τύπτουσαι τα στήθη αυτών.
And the soldier is led away captive: and her bondwomen were led away mourning as doves, murmuring in their hearts.
8 Και η Νινευή είναι παλαιόθεν ως λίμνη υδάτων· ταύτα όμως θέλουσι φύγει. Στήτε, στήτε, θέλουσι φωνάζει· και ουδείς ο βλέπων οπίσω.
And as for Ninive, her waters are like a great pool, but the men flee away. They cry: Stand, stand, but there is none that will return back.
9 Λαφυραγωγείτε το αργύριον, λαφυραγωγείτε το χρυσίον· διότι δεν είναι τέλος των θησαυρών αυτής· είναι πλήθος παντός σκεύους επιθυμητού.
Take ye the spoil of the silver, take the spoil of the gold: for there is no end of the riches of all the precious furniture.
10 Εξεκενώθη και εξετινάχθη και ηρημώθη και η καρδία διαλύεται και τα γόνατα κλονίζονται και ωδίνες είναι εις πάσας τας οσφύς, τα δε πρόσωπα πάντων είναι απησβολωμένα.
She is destroyed, and rent, and torn: the heart melteth, and the knees fail, and all the loins lose their strength: and the faces of them all are as the blackness of a kettle.
11 Που είναι το κατοικητήριον των λεόντων και η βοσκή των σκύμνων, όπου ο λέων, ο γηραιός λέων, περιεπάτει και ο σκύμνος του λέοντος, και δεν υπήρχεν ο εκφοβών;
Where is now the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, to which the lion went, to enter in thither, the young lion, and there was none to make them afraid?
12 Ο λέων διεσπάραττεν ικανά διά τους σκύμνους αυτού και απέπνιγε διά τας λεαίνας αυτού, και εγέμιζε τα σπήλαια αυτού από θηράματος και τα κατοικητήρια αυτού από αρπαγής.
The lion caught enough for his whelps, and killed for his lionesses: and he filled his holes with prey, and his den with rapine.
13 Ιδού, εγώ είμαι εναντίον σου, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, και θέλω καύσει τας αμάξας σου μέχρι καπνού και η ρομφαία θέλει καταφάγει τους σκύμνους σου, και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει το θήραμά σου εκ της γης, και δεν θέλει ακουσθή πλέον η φωνή των πρέσβεών σου.
Behold I come against thee, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will burn thy chariots even to smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey out of the land, and the voice of thy messengers shall be heard no more.
