Μιχαίας 5

1 Συναθροίσθητι τώρα εις τάγματα, θυγάτηρ ταγμάτων· έθεσε πολιορκίαν εναντίον ημών· θέλουσι πατάξει τον κριτήν του Ισραήλ εν ράβδω κατά της σιαγόνος.

Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops; he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

2 Και συ, Βηθλεέμ Εφραθά, η μικρά ώστε να ήσαι μεταξύ των χιλιάδων του Ιούδα, εκ σου θέλει εξέλθει εις εμέ ανήρ διά να ήναι ηγούμενος εν τω Ισραήλ· του οποίου αι έξοδοι είναι απ' αρχής, από ημερών αιώνος.

(And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall he come forth unto me [who is] to be Ruler in Israel: whose goings forth are from of old, from the days of eternity.)

3 Διά τούτο θέλει αφήσει αυτούς, έως του καιρού καθ' ον η τίκτουσα θέλει γεννήσει· τότε το υπόλοιπον των αδελφών αυτού θέλει επιστρέψει εις τους υιούς Ισραήλ.

Therefore will he give them up, until the time when she which travaileth shall have brought forth: and the residue of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

4 Και θέλει σταθή και ποιμάνει εν τη ισχύϊ του Κυρίου, εν τη μεγαλειότητι του ονόματος Κυρίου του Θεού αυτού· και θέλουσι κατοικήσει· διότι τώρα θέλει μεγαλυνθή έως των άκρων της γης.

And he shall stand and feed [his flock] in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God. And they shall abide; for now shall he be great even unto the ends of the earth.

5 Και ούτος θέλει είσθαι ειρήνη. Όταν ο Ασσύριος έλθη εις την γην ημών και όταν πατήση εις τα παλάτια ημών, τότε θέλομεν επεγείρει κατ' αυτού επτά ποιμένας και οκτώ άρχοντας ανθρώπων·

And this [man] shall be Peace. When the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes of men.

6 και θέλουσι ποιμάνει την γην της Ασσυρίας εν ρομφαία και την γην του Νεβρώδ εν ταις εισόδοις αυτού· και θέλει ελευθερώσει ημάς εκ του Ασσυρίου, όταν έλθη εις την γην ημών και όταν πατήση εν τοις ορίοις ημών.

And they shall waste the land of Asshur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof; and he shall deliver [us] from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

7 Και το υπόλοιπον του Ιακώβ θέλει είσθαι εν μέσω λαών πολλών ως δρόσος από Κυρίου, ως ρανίδες επί χόρτου, όστις δεν προσμένει παρά ανθρώπου ουδέ ελπίζει επί υιούς ανθρώπων.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples as dew from Jehovah, as showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, neither waiteth for the sons of men.

8 Και το υπόλοιπον του Ιακώβ θέλει είσθαι μεταξύ εθνών, εν μέσω λαών πολλών, ως λέων μεταξύ κτηνών του δρυμού, ως σκύμνος μεταξύ ποιμνίων προβάτων, όστις διαβαίνων καταπατεί και διασπαράττει και δεν υπάρχει ο ελευθερών.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and there is none to deliver.

9 Η χειρ σου θέλει υψωθή επί τους εναντίους σου, και πάντες οι εχθροί σου θέλουσιν εκκοπή.

Thy hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

10 Και εν τη ημέρα εκείνη, λέγει Κύριος, θέλω εξολοθρεύσει τους ίππους σου εκ μέσου σου, και θέλω απολέσει τας αμάξας σου.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots.

11 Και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει τας πόλεις της γης σου, και κατεδαφίσει πάντα τα οχυρώματά σου.

And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and overthrow all thy strongholds.

12 Και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει τας μαγείας από της χειρός σου, και δεν θέλεις έχει πλέον μάντεις.

And I will cut off sorceries out of thy hand; and thou shalt have no soothsayers.

13 Και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει τα γλυπτά σου και τα είδωλά σου εκ μέσου σου, και δεν θέλεις λατρεύσει πλέον το έργον των χειρών σου.

Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy statues out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more bow down to the work of thy hands.

14 Και θέλω ανασπάσει τα άλση σου εκ μέσου σου, και θέλω αφανίσει τας πόλεις σου.

And I will pluck up thine Asherahs out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy cities.

15 Και θέλω κάμει εκδίκησιν μετά θυμού και μετ' οργής επί τα έθνη, τα οποία δεν μου εισήκουσαν.

And I will execute vengeance in anger and in fury upon the nations, such as they have not heard of.
