Κατα Ματθαιον 21
1 Και ότε επλησίασαν εις Ιεροσόλυμα και ήλθον εις Βηθφαγή προς το όρος των ελαιών, τότε ο Ιησούς απέστειλε δύο μαθητάς,
And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem and were come to Bethphage at the mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples,
2 λέγων προς αυτούς· Υπάγετε εις την κώμην την απέναντι υμών, και ευθύς θέλετε ευρεί όνον δεδεμένην και πωλάριον μετ' αυτής· λύσατε και φέρετέ μοι.
saying unto them, Go into the village over-against you, and ye will find directly an ass tied and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me:
3 Και εάν τις σας είπη τι, θέλετε ειπεί ότι ο Κύριος έχει χρείαν αυτών· και ευθύς θέλει αποστείλει αυτά.
and if any one say any thing to you, tell him the Lord hath need of them, and he will immediately send them.
4 Τούτο δε όλον έγεινε διά να πληρωθή το ρηθέν διά του προφήτου, λέγοντος·
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion,
5 Είπατε προς την θυγατέρα Σιών, Ιδού, ο βασιλεύς σου έρχεται προς σε πραΰς και καθήμενος επί όνου και πώλου υιού υποζυγίου.
behold, thy king cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, even a colt the fole of an ass.
6 Πορευθέντες δε οι μαθηταί και ποιήσαντες καθώς προσέταξεν αυτούς ο Ιησούς,
And the disciples went, and did as Jesus ordered them,
7 έφεραν την όνον και το πωλάριον, και έβαλον επάνω αυτών τα ιμάτια αυτών και επεκάθισαν αυτόν επάνω αυτών.
and brought the ass and the colt, and threw their clothes over them, and set Him upon them.
8 Ο δε περισσότερος όχλος έστρωσαν τα ιμάτια εαυτών εις την οδόν, άλλοι δε έκοπτον κλάδους από των δένδρων και έστρωνον εις την οδόν.
And great numbers spread their garments in the way, and others cut off boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way:
9 Οι δε όχλοι οι προπορευόμενοι και οι ακολουθούντες έκραζον, λέγοντες· Ωσαννά τω υιώ Δαβίδ· ευλογημένος ο ερχόμενος εν ονόματι Κυρίου· Ωσαννά εν τοις υψίστοις.
and the multitudes, that went before and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 Και ότε εισήλθεν εις Ιεροσόλυμα, εσείσθη πάσα η πόλις, λέγουσα· Τις είναι ούτος;
And when He came into Jerusalem, all the city was in a commotion, saying, Who is this?
11 Οι δε όχλοι έλεγον· Ούτος είναι Ιησούς ο προφήτης ο από Ναζαρέτ της Γαλιλαίας.
And the people answered, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.
12 Και εισήλθεν ο Ιησούς εις το ιερόν του Θεού και εξέβαλε πάντας τους πωλούντας και αγοράζοντας εν τω ιερώ, και τας τραπέζας των αργυραμοιβών ανέτρεψε και τα καθίσματα των πωλούντων τας περιστεράς,
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all that were selling and buying in the court of the temple, and threw down the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves:
13 και λέγει προς αυτούς· Είναι γεγραμμένον, Ο οίκός μου οίκος προσευχής θέλει ονομάζεσθαι, σεις δε εκάμετε αυτόν σπήλαιον ληστών.
and said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called the house of prayer," but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14 Και προσήλθον προς αυτόν τυφλοί και χωλοί εν τω ιερώ και εθεράπευσεν αυτούς.
And there came to Him in the temple both blind and lame, and He healed them:
15 Ιδόντες δε οι αρχιερείς και οι γραμματείς τα θαυμάσια, τα οποία έκαμε, και τους παίδας κράζοντας εν τω ιερώ και λέγοντας, Ωσαννά τω υιώ Δαβίδ, ηγανάκτησαν
but when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonders that He wrought, and the children crying out in the temple, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were vexed to the heart, and said to Him, Dost thou hear what these say?
16 και είπον προς αυτόν· Ακούεις τι λέγουσιν ούτοι; Ο δε Ιησούς λέγει προς αυτούς· Ναί· ποτέ δεν ανεγνώσατε ότι εκ στόματος νηπίων και θηλαζόντων ητοίμασας αίνεσιν;
And Jesus saith unto them, Yes, have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast procured praise?
17 Και αφήσας αυτούς εξήλθεν έξω της πόλεως εις Βηθανίαν και διενυκτέρευσεν εκεί.
And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.
18 Ότε δε το πρωΐ επέστρεφεν εις την πόλιν, επείνασε·
Now in the morning as He was returning to the city, He was hungry;
19 και ιδών μίαν συκήν επί της οδού, ήλθε προς αυτήν και ουδέν ηύρεν επ' αυτήν ειμή φύλλα μόνον, και λέγει προς αυτήν· Να μη γείνη πλέον από σου καρπός εις τον αιώνα. Και παρευθύς εξηράνθη η συκή. (aiōn g165)
and seeing a fig-tree by the way, He went up to it, and finding nothing upon it but leaves, He saith to it, Let no fruit ever hereafter grow out of thee: and the fig-tree withered immediately. (aiōn g165)
20 Και ιδόντες οι μαθηταί, εθαύμασαν λέγοντες· Πως παρευθύς εξηράνθη συκή;
And the disciples seeing it were amazed and said, How suddenly is the fig-tree withered!
21 Αποκριθείς δε ο Ιησούς είπε προς αυτούς· Αληθώς σας λέγω, εάν έχητε πίστιν και δεν διστάσητε, ουχί μόνον το της συκής θέλετε κάμει, αλλά και εις το όρος τούτο αν είπητε, Σηκώθητι και ρίφθητι εις την θάλασσαν, θέλει γείνει·
but Jesus answering said unto them, Verily I tell you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only be able to do this to a fig-tree, but also if ye shall say to this mountain, "Be thou removed and cast into the sea," it shall be done.
22 και πάντα όσα αν ζητήσητε εν τη προσευχή έχοντες πίστιν θέλετε λάβει.
And all things whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
23 Και ότε ήλθεν εις το ιερόν, προσήλθον προς αυτόν, ενώ εδίδασκεν οι αρχιερείς και οι πρεσβύτεροι του λαού, λέγοντες· Εν ποία εξουσία πράττεις ταύτα, και τις σοι έδωκε την εξουσίαν ταύτην;
And when He was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, By what authority dost thou these things, and who gave thee this authority?
24 Αποκριθείς δε ο Ιησούς, είπε προς αυτούς· Θέλω σας ερωτήσει και εγώ ένα λόγον, τον οποίον εάν μοι είπητε, και εγώ θέλω σας ειπεί εν ποία εξουσία πράττω ταύτα·
but Jesus answered them, I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I will likewise tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 το βάπτισμα του Ιωάννου πόθεν ήτο, εξ ουρανού ή εξ ανθρώπων; Και εκείνοι διελογίζοντο καθ' εαυτούς λέγοντες· Εάν είπωμεν, Εξ ουρανού, θέλει ειπεί προς ημάς, Διά τι λοιπόν δεν επιστεύσατε εις αυτόν·
The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves saying, If we say, from heaven, He will reply, Why then did ye not believe him?
26 εάν δε είπωμεν, Εξ ανθρώπων, φοβούμεθα τον όχλον· διότι πάντες έχουσι τον Ιωάννην ως προφήτην.
But if we say, of men, we fear the people, for they all esteem John as a prophet.
27 Και αποκριθέντες προς τον Ιησούν, είπον· Δεν εξεύρομεν. Είπε προς αυτούς και αυτός· Ουδέ εγώ λέγω προς υμάς εν ποία εξουσία πράττω ταύτα.
And therefore in answer to Jesus, they said, We do not know: and He said unto them, Neither do I tell you, by what authority I do these things.
28 Αλλά τι σας φαίνεται; Άνθρωπος τις είχε δύο υιούς, και ελθών προς τον πρώτον είπε· Τέκνον, ύπαγε σήμερον εργάζου εν τω αμπελώνι μου.
But what think ye of this? There was a man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, Son, go, work to day in my vineyard:
29 Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε· Δεν θέλω· ύστερον όμως μετανοήσας υπήγε.
and he answered I will not; but afterwards repenting, he went.
30 Και ελθών προς τον δεύτερον είπεν ωσαύτως. Και εκείνος αποκριθείς είπεν· Εγώ υπάγω, κύριε· και δεν υπήγε.
And coming to the second, he spake in like manner: and he answered, Yes, Sir; and went not.
31 Τις εκ των δύο έκαμε το θέλημα του πατρός; Λέγουσι προς αυτόν· Ο πρώτος. Λέγει προς αυτούς ο Ιησούς· Αληθώς σας λέγω ότι οι τελώναι και αι πόρναι υπάγουσι πρότερον υμών εις την βασιλείαν του Θεού.
Now which of the two did the will of his father? They say unto Him, The first. Jesus replied, Verily I say unto you, that publicans and prostitutes enter into the kingdom of God before you:
32 Διότι ήλθε προς υμάς ο Ιωάννης εν οδώ δικαιοσύνης, και δεν επιστεύσατε εις αυτόν· οι τελώναι όμως και αι πόρναι επίστευσαν εις αυτόν· σεις δε ιδόντες δεν μετεμελήθητε ύστερον, ώστε να πιστεύσητε εις αυτόν.
for John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye did not believe him; but publicans and harlots believed him; and though ye saw that, ye did not repent afterwards, to believe him.
33 Άλλην παραβολήν ακούσατε. Ήτο άνθρωπός τις οικοδεσπότης, όστις εφύτευσεν αμπελώνα και περιέβαλεν εις αυτόν φραγμόν και έσκαψεν εν αυτώ ληνόν και ωκοδόμησε πύργον, και εμίσθωσεν αυτόν εις γεωργούς και απεδήμησεν.
Hear another parable, There was a certain man, a master of a family, that planted a vineyard, and made a fence about it, and put a wine-press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and travelled abroad.
34 Ότε δε επλησίασεν ο καιρός των καρπών, απέστειλε τους δούλους αυτού προς τους γεωργούς διά να λάβωσι τους καρπούς αυτού.
And when the fruit-season drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive the fruits of it:
35 Και πιάσαντες οι γεωργοί τους δούλους αυτού, άλλον μεν έδειραν, άλλον δε εφόνευσαν, άλλον δε ελιθοβόλησαν.
and the husbandmen took his servants and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Πάλιν απέστειλεν άλλους δούλους πλειοτέρους των πρώτων, και έκαμον εις αυτούς ωσαύτως.
And he sent again other servants more than the first: and they did the like to them.
37 Ύστερον δε απέστειλε προς αυτούς τον υιόν αυτού λέγων· Θέλουσιν εντραπή τον υιόν μου.
At last he sent unto them his Son, saying, They will reverence my Son.
38 Αλλ' οι γεωργοί, ιδόντες τον υιόν, είπον προς αλλήλους· Ούτος είναι ο κληρονόμος· έλθετε, ας φονεύσωμεν αυτόν και ας κατακρατήσωμεν την κληρονομίαν αυτού.
But when the husbandmen saw the Son, they said among themselves, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, and seize on his inheritance:
39 Και πιάσαντες αυτόν, εξέβαλον έξω του αμπελώνος και εφόνευσαν.
so they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and slew him.
40 Όταν λοιπόν έλθη ο κύριος του αμπελώνος, τι θέλει κάμει εις τους γεωργούς εκείνους;
When therefore the lord of the vineyard cometh, what will he do to those husbandmen?
41 Λέγουσι προς αυτόν· Κακούς κακώς θέλει απολέσει αυτούς, και τον αμπελώνα θέλει μισθώσει εις άλλους γεωργούς, οίτινες θέλουσιν αποδώσει εις αυτόν τους καρπούς εν τοις καιροίς αυτών.
They answer, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out the vineyard to other husbandmen, who will render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Λέγει προς αυτούς ο Ιησούς· Ποτέ δεν ανεγνώσατε εν ταις γραφαίς, Ο λίθος, τον οποίον απεδοκίμασαν οι οικοδομούντες, ούτος έγεινε κεφαλή γωνίας· παρά Κυρίου έγεινεν αύτη και είναι θαυμαστή εν οφθαλμοίς υμών;
Then saith Jesus to them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, "The stone which the builders refused, is made the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"
43 Διά τούτο λέγω προς υμάς ότι θέλει αφαιρεθή αφ' υμών η βασιλεία του Θεού και θέλει δοθή εις έθνος κάμνον τους καρπούς αυτής·
Therefore I tell you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation, that will bring forth the fruits thereof.
44 και όστις πέση επί τον λίθον τούτον θέλει συντριφθή· εις όντινα δε επιπέση, θέλει κατασυντρίψει αυτόν.
And he that stumbleth at this stone shall be bruised, but on whomsoever it falls, it will crush him to pieces.
45 Και ακούσαντες οι αρχιερείς και οι Φαρισαίοι τας παραβολάς αυτού, ενόησαν ότι περί αυτών λέγει·
And when the chief priests and pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that He spake of them:
46 και ζητούντες να πιάσωσιν αυτόν, εφοβήθησαν τους όχλους, επειδή είχον αυτόν ως προφήτην.
and would have seized Him, but that they were afraid of the people; because they took Him for a prophet.
