Κατα Ματθαιον 15
1 Τότε προσέρχονται προς τον Ιησούν οι από Ιεροσολύμων γραμματείς και Φαρισαίοι, λέγοντες·
Then they come to Jesus from Jerusalem—scribes and Pharisees—saying,
2 Διά τι οι μαθηταί σου παραβαίνουσιν την παράδοσιν των πρεσβυτέρων; διότι δεν νίπτονται τας χείρας αυτών όταν τρώγωσιν άρτον.
“Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they may eat bread.”
3 Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε προς αυτούς· Διά τι και σεις παραβαίνετε την εντολήν του Θεού διά την παράδοσίν σας;
And He answering said to them, “Why also do you transgress the command of God because of your tradition?
4 Διότι ο Θεός προσέταξε, λέγων· Τίμα τον πατέρα σου και την μητέρα· και, Ο κακολογών πατέρα ή μητέρα εξάπαντος να θανατόνηται·
For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother—let him die the death;
5 σεις όμως λέγετε· Όστις είπη προς τον πατέρα ή προς την μητέρα, Δώρον είναι ό, τι ήθελες ωφεληθή εξ εμού, αρκεί, και δύναται να μη τιμήση τον πατέρα αυτού ή την μητέρα αυτού·
but you say, Whoever may say to father or mother, An offering [is] whatever you may be profited by me—
6 και ηκυρώσατε την εντολήν του Θεού διά την παράδοσίν σας.
and he may not honor his father or his mother, and you set aside the command of God because of your tradition.
7 Υποκριταί, καλώς προεφήτευσε περί υμών ο Ησαΐας, λέγων·
Hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
8 Ο λαός ούτος με πλησιάζει με το στόμα αυτών και με τα χείλη με τιμά, η δε καρδία αυτών μακράν απέχει απ' εμού.
This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with the lips it honors Me, but their heart is far off from Me;
9 Εις μάτην δε με σέβονται, διδάσκοντες διδασκαλίας, εντάλματα ανθρώπων.
and in vain they worship Me, teaching teachings—commands of men.”
10 Και προσκαλέσας τον όχλον, είπε προς αυτούς· Ακούετε και νοείτε.
And having called near the multitude, He said to them, “Hear and understand:
11 Δεν μολύνει τον άνθρωπον το εισερχόμενον εις το στόμα, αλλά το εξερχόμενον εκ του στόματος τούτο μολύνει τον άνθρωπον.
[it is] not that which is coming into the mouth [that] defiles the man, but that which is coming forth from the mouth, this defiles the man.”
12 Τότε προσελθόντες οι μαθηταί αυτού, είπον προς αυτόν· Εξεύρεις ότι οι Φαρισαίοι ακούσαντες τον λόγον τούτον εσκανδαλίσθησαν;
Then His disciples having come near, said to Him, “Have You known that the Pharisees, having heard the word, were stumbled?”
13 Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε· Πάσα φυτεία, την οποίαν δεν εφύτευσεν ο Πατήρ μου ο ουράνιος, θέλει εκριζωθή.
And He answering said, “Every plant that My heavenly Father did not plant will be rooted up;
14 Αφήσατε αυτούς· είναι οδηγοί τυφλοί τυφλών· τυφλός δε τυφλόν εάν οδηγή, αμφότεροι εις βόθρον θέλουσι πέσει.
leave them alone, they are guides—blind of blind; and if blind may guide blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
15 Αποκριθείς δε ο Πέτρος είπε προς αυτόν· Εξήγησον εις ημάς την παραβολήν ταύτην.
And Peter answering said to Him, “Explain to us this allegory.”
16 Και ο Ιησούς είπεν· Έτι και σεις ασύνετοι είσθε;
And Jesus said, “Are you also yet without understanding?
17 Δεν εννοείτε έτι ότι παν το εισερχόμενον εις το στόμα καταβαίνει εις την κοιλίαν και εκβάλλεται εις αφεδρώνα;
Do you not understand that all that is going into the mouth passes into the belly, and is cast forth into the drain?
18 Τα δε εξερχόμενα εκ του στόματος εκ της καρδίας εξέρχονται, και εκείνα μολύνουσι τον άνθρωπον.
But the things coming forth from the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man;
19 Διότι εκ της καρδίας εξέρχονται διαλογισμοί πονηροί, φόνοι, μοιχείαι, πορνείαι, κλοπαί, ψευδομαρτυρίαι, βλασφημίαι.
for out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false witnessings, slanders:
20 Ταύτα είναι τα μολύνοντα τον άνθρωπον· το δε να φάγη τις με ανίπτους χείρας δεν μολύνει τον άνθρωπον.
these are the things defiling the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
21 Και εξελθών εκείθεν ο Ιησούς ανεχώρησεν εις τα μέρη Τύρου και Σιδώνος.
And Jesus having come forth from there, withdrew to the parts of Tyre and Sidon,
22 Και ιδού, γυνή Χαναναία, εξελθούσα από των ορίων εκείνων, εκραύγασε προς αυτόν λέγουσα· Ελέησόν με, Κύριε, υιέ του Δαβίδ· η θυγάτηρ μου κακώς δαιμονίζεται.
and behold, a woman, a Canaanite, having come forth from those borders, called to Him, saying, “Deal kindly with me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is miserably demonized.”
23 Ο δε δεν απεκρίθη προς αυτήν λόγον. Και προσελθόντες οι μαθηταί αυτού, παρεκάλουν αυτόν, λέγοντες· Απόλυσον αυτήν, διότι κράζει όπισθεν ημών.
And He did not answer her a word; and His disciples having come to Him, were asking Him, saying, “Let her away, because she cries after us”;
24 Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε· Δεν απεστάλην ειμή εις τα πρόβατα τα απολωλότα του οίκου Ισραήλ.
and He answering said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Η δε ελθούσα προσεκύνει αυτόν, λέγουσα· Κύριε, βοήθει μοι.
And having come, she was worshiping Him, saying, “Lord, help me”;
26 Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε· Δεν είναι καλόν να λάβη τις τον άρτον των τέκνων και να ρίψη εις τα κυνάρια.
and He answering said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast to the little dogs.”
27 Η δε είπε· Ναι, Κύριε· αλλά και τα κυνάρια τρώγουσιν από των ψιχίων των πιπτόντων από της τραπέζης των κυρίων αυτών.
And she said, “Yes, Lord, for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs that are falling from their lords’ table”;
28 Τότε αποκριθείς ο Ιησούς είπε προς αυτήν· Ω γύναι, μεγάλη σου η πίστις· ας γείνη εις σε ως θέλεις. Και ιατρεύθη η θυγάτηρ αυτής από της ώρας εκείνης.
then answering, Jesus said to her, “O woman, great [is] your faith, let it be to you as you will”; and her daughter was healed from that hour.
29 Και μεταβάς εκείθεν ο Ιησούς, ήλθε παρά την θάλασσαν της Γαλιλαίας, και αναβάς εις το όρος εκάθητο εκεί.
And having departed from there, Jesus came near to the Sea of Galilee, and having gone up to the mountain, He was sitting there,
30 Και ήλθον προς αυτόν όχλοι πολλοί έχοντες μεθ' εαυτών χωλούς, τυφλούς, κωφούς, κουλλούς και άλλους πολλούς· και έρριψαν αυτούς εις τους πόδας του Ιησού, και εθεράπευσεν αυτούς·
and there came to Him great multitudes, having with them lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they cast them at the feet of Jesus, and He healed them,
31 ώστε οι όχλοι εθαύμασαν βλέποντες κωφούς λαλούντας, κουλλούς υγιείς, χωλούς περιπατούντας και τυφλούς βλέποντας· και εδόξασαν τον Θεόν του Ισραήλ.
so that the multitudes wondered, seeing mute ones speaking, maimed whole, lame walking, and blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Ο δε Ιησούς, προσκαλέσας τους μαθητάς αυτού, είπε· Σπλαγχνίζομαι διά τον όχλον, διότι τρεις ήδη ημέρας μένουσι πλησίον μου και δεν έχουσι τι να φάγωσι· και να απολύσω αυτούς νήστεις δεν θέλω, μήποτε αποκάμωσι καθ' οδόν.
And Jesus having called near His disciples, said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because now three days they continue with Me, and they do not have what they may eat; and to let them away fasting I will not, lest they faint in the way.”
33 Και λέγουσι προς αυτόν οι μαθηταί αυτού· Πόθεν εις ημάς εν τη ερημία άρτοι τόσοι, ώστε να χορτάσωμεν τόσον όχλον;
And His disciples say to Him, “From where to us in a wilderness [will we get] so many loaves, as to fill so great a multitude?”
34 Και λέγει προς αυτούς ο Ιησούς· Πόσους άρτους έχετε; οι δε είπον· Επτά, και ολίγα οψαράκια.
And Jesus says to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fishes.”
35 Και προσέταξε τους όχλους να καθήσωσιν επί την γην.
And He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the ground,
36 Και λαβών τους επτά άρτους και τα οψάρια, αφού ευχαρίστησεν, έκοψε και έδωκεν εις τους μαθητάς αυτού, οι δε μαθηταί εις τον όχλον.
and having taken the seven loaves and the fishes, having given thanks, He broke, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples [gave] to the multitude.
37 Και έφαγον πάντες και εχορτάσθησαν, και εσήκωσαν το περίσσευμα των κλασμάτων επτά σπυρίδας πλήρεις·
And they all ate, and were filled, and they took up what was over of the broken pieces seven baskets full,
38 οι δε τρώγοντες ήσαν τετρακισχίλιοι άνδρες εκτός γυναικών και παιδίων.
and those eating were four thousand men, apart from women and children.
39 Αφού δε απέλυσε τους όχλους, εισήλθεν εις το πλοίον και ήλθεν εις τα όρια Μαγδαλά.
And having let away the multitudes, He went into the boat, and came to the borders of Magdala.
