Κατα Μαρκον 5
1 Και ήλθον εις το πέραν της θαλάσσης εις την χώραν των Γαδαρηνών.
And they came over to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 Και ως εξήλθεν εκ του πλοίου, ευθύς απήντησεν αυτόν εκ των μνημείων άνθρωπος έχων πνεύμα ακάθαρτον,
And when he had come out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 όστις είχε την κατοικίαν εν τοις μνημείοις, και ουδείς ηδύνατο να δέση αυτόν ουδέ με αλύσεις,
Who had [his] dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 διότι πολλάκις είχε δεθή με ποδόδεσμα και με αλύσεις, και διεσπάσθησαν υπ' αυτού αι αλύσεις και τα ποδόδεσμα συνετρίφθησαν, και ουδείς ίσχυε να δαμάση αυτόν·
For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any [man] tame him.
5 και διά παντός νύκτα και ημέραν ήτο εν τοις όρεσι και εν τοις μνημείοις, κράζων και κατακόπτων εαυτόν με λίθους.
And always, night and day, he was on the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 Ιδών δε τον Ιησούν από μακρόθεν, έδραμε και προσεκύνησεν αυτόν,
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped him,
7 και κράξας μετά φωνής μεγάλης είπε· Τι είναι μεταξύ εμού και σου, Ιησού, Υιέ του Θεού του υψίστου; ορκίζω σε εις τον Θεόν, μη με βασανίσης.
And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, [thou] Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 Διότι έλεγε προς αυτόν· Έξελθε από του ανθρώπου το πνεύμα το ακάθαρτον.
(For he said to him, Come out of the man, [thou] unclean spirit.)
9 Και ηρώτησεν αυτόν· Τι είναι το όνομά σου; Και απεκρίθη λέγων· Λεγεών είναι το όνομά μου, διότι πολλοί είμεθα.
And he asked him, What [is] thy name? And he answered, saying, My name [is] Legion: for we are many.
10 Και παρεκάλει αυτόν πολλά να μη αποστείλη αυτούς έξω της χώρας.
And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11 Ήτο δε εκεί προς τα όρη αγέλη μεγάλη χοίρων βοσκομένη.
Now there was there nigh to the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 και παρεκάλεσαν αυτόν πάντες οι δαίμονες, λέγοντες· Πέμψον ημάς εις τους χοίρους, διά να εισέλθωμεν εις αυτούς.
And all the demons besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 Και ο Ιησούς ευθύς επέτρεψεν εις αυτούς. Και εξελθόντα τα πνεύματα τα ακάθαρτα εισήλθον εις τους χοίρους· και ώρμησεν η αγέλη κατά του κρημνού εις την θάλασσαν· ήσαν δε έως δύο χιλιάδες· και επνίγοντο εν τη θαλάσση.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea (they were about two thousand) and were choked in the sea.
14 Οι δε βόσκοντες τους χοίρους έφυγον και ανήγγειλαν εις την πόλιν και εις τους αγρούς· και εξήλθον διά να ίδωσι τι είναι το γεγονός.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told [it] in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15 Και έρχονται προς τον Ιησούν, και θεωρούσι τον δαιμονιζόμενον, όστις είχε τον λεγεώνα, καθήμενον και ενδεδυμένον και σωφρονούντα, και εφοβήθησαν.
And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the demon, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16 Και διηγήθησαν προς αυτούς οι ιδόντες πως έγεινε το πράγμα εις τον δαιμονιζόμενον, και περί των χοίρων.
And they that saw [it] told them how it befell him that was possessed with the demon, and [also] concerning the swine.
17 Και ήρχισαν να παρακαλώσιν αυτόν να αναχωρήση από των ορίων αυτών.
And they began to pray him to depart out of their borders.
18 Και ότε εισήλθεν εις το πλοίον, παρεκάλει αυτόν ο δαιμονισθείς να ήναι μετ' αυτού.
And when he had come into the boat, he that had been possessed with the demon prayed him that he might be with him.
19 Πλην ο Ιησούς δεν αφήκεν αυτόν, αλλά λέγει προς αυτόν· Ύπαγε εις τον οίκόν σου προς τους οικείους σου και ανάγγειλον προς αυτούς όσα ο Κύριος σοι έκαμε και σε ηλέησε.
Yet Jesus suffered him not, but saith to him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20 Και ανεχώρησε και ήρχισε να κηρύττη εν τη Δεκαπόλει όσα έκαμεν εις αυτόν ο Ιησούς, και πάντες εθαύμαζον.
And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him. And all [men] wondered.
21 Και αφού ο Ιησούς διεπέρασε πάλιν εν τω πλοίω εις το πέραν, συνήχθη προς αυτόν όχλος πολύς, και ήτο πλησίον της θαλάσσης.
And when Jesus had passed over again in a boat to the other side, much people gathered to him: and he was nigh to the sea.
22 Και ιδού, έρχεται εις των αρχισυναγώγων, ονόματι Ιάειρος, και ιδών αυτόν πίπτει προς τους πόδας αυτού
And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 και παρεκάλει αυτόν πολλά, λέγων ότι το θυγάτριόν μου πνέει τα λοίσθια· να έλθης και να βάλης τας χείρας σου επ' αυτήν, διά να σωθή και θέλει ζήσει.
And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: [I pray thee], come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she will live.
24 Και υπήγε μετ' αυτού· και ηκολούθει αυτόν όχλος πολύς, και συνέθλιβον αυτόν.
And [Jesus] went with him; and many people followed him, and thronged him.
25 Και γυνή τις, έχουσα ρύσιν αίματος δώδεκα έτη
And a certain woman who had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 και πολλά παθούσα υπό πολλών ιατρών και δαπανήσασα πάσαν την περιουσίαν αυτής και μηδέν ωφεληθείσα, αλλά μάλλον εις το χείρον ελθούσα,
And had suffered many things from many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was not relieved, but rather grew worse,
27 ακούσασα περί του Ιησού, ήλθε μεταξύ του όχλου όπισθεν και ήγγισε το ιμάτιον αυτού·
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.
28 διότι έλεγεν ότι και αν τα ιμάτια αυτού εγγίσω, θέλω σωθή.
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 Και ευθύς εξηράνθη η πηγή του αίματος αυτής, και ησθάνθη εν τω σώματι αυτής ότι ιατρεύθη από της μάστιγος.
And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in [her] body that she was healed of that infirmity.
30 Και ευθύς ο Ιησούς, νοήσας εν εαυτώ την δύναμιν την εξελθούσαν απ' αυτού, στραφείς εν τω όχλω έλεγε· Τις ήγγισε τα ιμάτιά μου;
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the throng, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 Και έλεγον προς αυτόν οι μαθηταί αυτόν· Βλέπεις τον όχλον συνθλίβοντά σε, και λέγεις τις μου ήγγισε;
And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 Και περιέβλεπε διά να ίδη την πράξασαν τούτο.
And he looked around, to see her that had done this thing.
33 Η δε γυνή, φοβηθείσα και τρέμουσα, επειδή ήξευρε τι έγεινεν επ' αυτήν, ήλθε και προσέπεσεν εις αυτόν και είπε προς αυτόν πάσαν την αλήθειαν.
But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 Ο δε είπε προς αυτήν· Θύγατερ, η πίστις σου σε έσωσεν· ύπαγε εις ειρήνην και έσο υγιής από της μάστιγός σου.
And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be healed of thy infirmity.
35 Ενώ αυτός ελάλει έτι, έρχονται από του αρχισυναγώγου, λέγοντες ότι η θυγάτηρ σου απέθανε· τι πλέον ενοχλείς τον Διδάσκαλον;
While he was yet speaking, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's [house certain] who said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
36 Ο δε Ιησούς, ευθύς ότε ήκουσε τον λόγον λαλούμενον, λέγει προς τον αρχισυνάγωγον· Μη φοβού, μόνον πίστευε.
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe,
37 Και δεν αφήκεν ουδένα να ακολουθήση αυτόν ειμή τον Πέτρον και Ιάκωβον και Ιωάννην τον αδελφόν Ιακώβου.
And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
38 Και έρχεται εις τον οίκον του αρχισυναγώγου και βλέπει θόρυβον, κλαίοντας και αλαλάζοντας πολλά,
And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
39 και εισελθών λέγει προς αυτούς· Τι θορυβείσθε και κλαίετε; το παιδίον δεν απέθανεν, αλλά κοιμάται.
And when he had come in, he saith to them, Why make ye this tumult, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
40 Και κατεγέλων αυτού. Ο δε, αφού εξέβαλεν άπαντας, παραλαμβάνει τον πατέρα του παιδίου και την μητέρα και τους μεθ' εαυτού και εισέρχεται όπου έκειτο το παιδίον,
And they derided him: but when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
41 και πιάσας την χείρα του παιδίου, λέγει προς αυτήν· Ταλιθά, κούμι· το οποίον μεθερμηνευόμενον είναι, Κοράσιον, σοι λέγω, σηκώθητι.
And he took the damsel by the hand, and said to her, Talitha cumi: which is, being interpreted, Damsel (I say to thee) arise.
42 Και ευθύς εσηκώθη το κοράσιον και περιεπάτει· διότι ήτο ετών δώδεκα. Και εξεπλάγησαν με έκπληξιν μεγάλην.
And forthwith the damsel arose, and walked; for she was [of the age] of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
43 Και παρήγγειλεν εις αυτούς πολλά να μη μάθη μηδείς τούτο και είπε να δοθή εις αυτήν να φάγη.
And he charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
