Κατα Μαρκον 1
1 Αρχή του ευαγγελίου του Ιησού Χριστού, Υιού του Θεού.
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ;
2 Καθώς είναι γεγραμμένον εν τοις προφήταις· Ιδού, εγώ αποστέλλω τον άγγελόν μου προ προσώπου σου, όστις θέλει κατασκευάσει την οδόν σου έμπροσθέν σου·
as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way;”
3 Φωνή βοώντος εν τη ερήμω, ετοιμάσατε την οδόν του Κυρίου, ευθείας κάμετε τας τρίβους αυτού.
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!”
4 Ήτο ο Ιωάννης βαπτίζων εν τη ερήμω και κηρύττων βάπτισμα μετανοίας εις άφεσιν αμαρτιών.
John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5 Και εξήρχοντο προς αυτόν όλος ο τόπος της Ιουδαίας και οι Ιεροσολυμίται, και εβαπτίζοντο πάντες εν τω Ιορδάνη ποταμώ υπ' αυτού, εξομολογούμενοι τας αμαρτίας αυτών.
And there went out to him all the country of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Ήτο δε ο Ιωάννης ενδεδυμένος τρίχας καμήλου και έχων ζώνην δερματίνην περί την οσφύν αυτού, και τρώγων ακρίδας και μέλι άγριον.
And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a leathern girdle about his loins, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
7 Και εκήρυττε, λέγων· Έρχεται ο ισχυρότερός μου οπίσω μου, του οποίου δεν είμαι άξιος σκύψας να λύσω το λωρίον των υποδημάτων αυτού.
And he preached, saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
8 Εγώ μεν σας εβάπτισα εν ύδατι, αυτός δε θέλει σας βαπτίσει εν Πνεύματι Αγίω.
I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
9 Και εν εκείναις ταις ημέραις ήλθεν ο Ιησούς από Ναζαρέτ της Γαλιλαίας και εβαπτίσθη υπό Ιωάννου εις τον Ιορδάνην.
And it came to pass that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 Και ευθύς ενώ ανέβαινεν από του ύδατος, είδε τους ουρανούς σχιζομένους και το Πνεύμα καταβαίνον ως περιστεράν επ' αυτόν·
And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit descending as a dove upon him.
11 και φωνή έγεινεν εκ των ουρανών· Συ είσαι ο Υιός μου ο αγαπητός, εις τον οποίον ευηρεστήθην.
And there was a voice from the heavens, “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.”
12 Και ευθύς το Πνεύμα εκβάλλει αυτόν εις την έρημον·
And immediately the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.
13 και ήτο εκεί εν τη ερήμω ημέρας τεσσαράκοντα πειραζόμενος υπό του Σατανά, και ήτο μετά των θηρίων, και οι άγγελοι υπηρέτουν αυτόν.
And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
14 Αφού δε παρεδόθη ο Ιωάννης, ήλθεν ο Ιησούς εις την Γαλιλαίαν κηρύττων το ευαγγέλιον της βασιλείας του Θεού
But after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the glad tidings of God,
15 και λέγων ότι επληρώθη ο καιρός και επλησίασεν η βασιλεία του Θεού· μετανοείτε και πιστεύετε εις το ευαγγέλιον.
[[saying, ]] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.
16 Περιπατών δε παρά την θάλασσαν της Γαλιλαίας, είδε τον Σίμωνα και Ανδρέαν τον αδελφόν αυτού, ρίπτοντας δίκτυον εις την θάλασσαν· διότι ήσαν αλιείς·
And as he was passing along by the lake of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon dragging a net in the lake; for they were fishers.
17 και είπε προς αυτούς ο Ιησούς· Έλθετε οπίσω μου, και θέλω σας κάμει να γείνητε αλιείς ανθρώπων.
And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men.
18 Και ευθύς αφήσαντες τα δίκτυα αυτών, ηκολούθησαν αυτόν.
And immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
19 Και προχωρήσας εκείθεν ολίγον, είδεν Ιάκωβον τον του Ζεβεδαίου και Ιωάννην τον αδελφόν αυτού, και αυτούς εν τω πλοίω επισκευάζοντας τα δίκτυα,
And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets;
20 και ευθύς εκάλεσεν αυτούς. Και αφήσαντες τον πατέρα αυτών Ζεβεδαίον εν τω πλοίω μετά των μισθωτών, υπήγον οπίσω αυτού.
and immediately he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, they went after him.
21 Και εισέρχονται εις Καπερναούμ· και ευθύς εν τω σαββάτω εισελθών ο Ιησούς εις την συναγωγήν εδίδασκε.
And they enter Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath he was teaching in the synagogue.
22 Και εξεπλήττοντο διά την διδαχήν αυτού· διότι εδίδασκεν αυτούς ως έχων εξουσίαν, και ουχί ως οι γραμματείς.
And they were astonished at his teaching; for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Και ήτο εν τη συναγωγή αυτών άνθρωπος έχων πνεύμα ακάθαρτον, και ανέκραξε,
And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
24 λέγων· Φευ, τι είναι μεταξύ ημών και σου, Ιησού Ναζαρηνέ; ήλθες να μας απολέσης; σε γνωρίζω τις είσαι, ο Άγιος του Θεού.
saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us; we know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
25 Και επετίμησεν αυτό ο Ιησούς, λέγων· Σιώπα και έξελθε εξ αυτού.
And Jesus rebuked him, [[saying, ]] Be silent, and come out of him.
26 Και το πνεύμα το ακάθαρτον, αφού εσπάραξεν αυτόν και έκραξε μετά φωνής μεγάλης, εξήλθεν εξ αυτού.
And the unclean spirit convulsing him, and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 Και πάντες εξεπλάγησαν, ώστε συνεζήτουν προς αλλήλους, λέγοντες· Τι είναι τούτο; τις αύτη η νέα διδαχή, διότι μετά εξουσίας προστάζει και τα ακάθαρτα πνεύματα, και υπακούουσιν εις αυτόν;
And they were all amazed, so that they questioned each other, saying, What is this? New teaching with authority; even the unclean spirits doth he command, and they obey him!
28 Εξήλθε δε η φήμη αυτού ευθύς εις όλην την περίχωρον της Γαλιλαίας.
And immediately his fame spread abroad everywhere through the whole surrounding country of Galilee.
29 Και ευθύς εξελθόντες εκ της συναγωγής, ήλθον εις την οικίαν Σίμωνος και Ανδρέου μετά του Ιακώβου και Ιωάννου.
And having come out of the synagogue, they immediately entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 Η δε πενθερά του Σίμωνος ήτο κατάκοιτος πάσχουσα πυρετόν. Και ευθύς ελάλησαν προς αυτόν περί αυτής.
And Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever; and they immediately speak to him about her.
31 Και πλησιάσας ήγειρεν αυτήν πιάσας την χείρα αυτής, και αφήκεν αυτήν ο πυρετός ευθύς, και υπηρέτει αυτούς.
And he went to her, and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she waited on them.
32 Αφού δε έγεινεν εσπέρα, ότε έδυσεν ο ήλιος, έφεραν προς αυτόν πάντας τους πάσχοντας και τους δαιμονιζομένους·
And in the evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all that were sick, and those who were possessed by demons;
33 και η πόλις όλη ήτο συνηγμένη έμπροσθεν της θύρας·
and the whole city was assembled at the door.
34 και εθεράπευσε πολλούς πάσχοντας διαφόρους αρρωστίας, και δαιμόνια πολλά εξέβαλε, και δεν άφινε τα δαιμόνια να λαλώσιν, επειδή εγνώριζον αυτόν.
And he healed many that were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 Και το πρωΐ ενώ ήτο όρθρος βαθύς, σηκωθείς εξήλθε· και υπήγεν εις έρημον τόπον και εκεί προσηύχετο.
And rising early, long before day, he went out, and withdrew into a desert place, and there prayed.
36 Και έδραμον κατόπιν αυτού ο Σίμων και οι μετ' αυτού,
And Simon and those with him went in search of him,
37 και ευρόντες αυτόν λέγουσι προς αυτόν ότι πάντες σε ζητούσι.
and found him. And they say to him, All people are in search of thee.
38 Και λέγει προς αυτούς· Ας υπάγωμεν εις τας πλησίον κωμοπόλεις, διά να κηρύξω και εκεί· επειδή διά τούτο εξήλθον.
And he saith to them, Let us go elsewhere into the neighboring towns, that I may preach there also; for, for this I came forth.
39 Και εκήρυττεν εν ταις συναγωγαίς αυτών εις όλην την Γαλιλαίαν και εξέβαλλε τα δαιμόνια.
And he went, preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out the demons.
40 Και έρχεται προς αυτόν λεπρός παρακαλών αυτόν και γονυπετών έμπροσθεν αυτού και λέγων προς αυτόν ότι, εάν θέλης, δύνασαι να με καθαρίσης.
And there cometh a leper to him beseeching him, and kneeling down, saying to him, If thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
41 Ο δε Ιησούς σπλαγχνισθείς, εξέτεινε την χείρα και ήγγισεν αυτόν και λέγει προς αυτόν· Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι.
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith, I will; be thou cleansed.
42 Και ως είπε τούτο, ευθύς έφυγεν απ' αυτού η λέπρα, και εκαθαρίσθη.
And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
43 Και προστάξας αυτόν εντόνως, ευθύς απέπεμψεν αυτόν
And sternly charging him, he immediately sent him away,
44 και λέγει προς αυτόν· Πρόσεχε μη είπης προς μηδένα μηδέν, αλλ' ύπαγε, δείξον σεαυτόν εις τον ιερέα και πρόσφερε περί του καθαρισμού σου όσα προσέταξεν ο Μωϋσής διά μαρτυρίαν εις αυτούς.
saying to him, See that thou say nothing to any one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
45 Αλλ' εκείνος εξελθών ήρχισε να κηρύττη πολλά και να διαφημίζη τον λόγον, ώστε πλέον δεν ηδύνατο αυτός να εισέλθη φανερά εις πόλιν, αλλ' ήτο έξω εν ερήμοις τόποις· και ήρχοντο προς αυτόν πανταχόθεν.
But he went away, and began to publish it constantly, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no more enter a city openly, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.
