Κατα Λουκαν 5
1 Ενώ δε ο όχλος συνέθλιβεν αυτόν διά να ακούη τον λόγον του Θεού, αυτός ίστατο πλησίον της λίμνης Γεννησαρέτ,
And it came to pass while the multitude was pressing on him to hear the word of God, and he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 και είδε δύο πλοία ιστάμενα παρά την λίμνην οι δε αλιείς αποβάντες απ' αυτών εξέπλυναν τα δίκτυα.
that he saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 Εμβάς δε εις εν των πλοίων, το οποίον ήτο του Σίμωνος, παρεκάλεσεν αυτόν να απομακρύνη αυτό ολίγον από της γης, και καθήσας εδίδασκεν εκ του πλοίου τους όχλους.
And he entered one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and requested him to push out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitude from the ship.
4 Καθώς δε έπαυσε λαλών, είπε προς τον Σίμωνα· Επανάγαγε το πλοίον εις τα βαθέα και ρίψατε τα δίκτυα υμών διά να οψαρεύσητε.
And when he had made an end of speaking, he said to Simon: Push out into the deep water, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 Και αποκριθείς ο Σίμων, είπε προς αυτόν· Διδάσκαλε, δι' όλης της νυκτός κοπιάσαντες δεν επιάσαμεν ουδέν· αλλ' όμως επί τω λόγω σου θέλω ρίψει το δίκτυον.
And Simon answered and said to him: Master, we have toiled all night and have caught nothing; but at thy command, I will let down the net.
6 Και αφού έκαμον τούτο, συνέκλεισαν πλήθος πολύ ιχθύων και διεσχίζετο το δίκτυον αυτών.
And when they had done this, they inclosed a great number of fishes, and their net began to break;
7 Και έκαμον νεύμα εις τους συντρόφους τους εν τω άλλω πλοίω, διά να έλθωσι να βοηθήσωσιν αυτούς· και ήλθον και εγέμισαν αμφότερα τα πλοία, ώστε εβυθίζοντο.
and they beckoned to their partners who were in the other ship, to come and help them. And they came and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
8 Ιδών δε ο Σίμων Πέτρος, προσέπεσε προς τα γόνατα του Ιησού, λέγων· Έξελθε απ' εμού, διότι είμαι άνθρωπος αμαρτωλός, Κύριε.
And when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, and said: Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.
9 Επειδή έκπληξις κατέλαβεν αυτόν και πάντας τους μετ' αυτού διά την άγραν των ιχθύων, την οποίαν συνέλαβον,
For amazement at the draught of fishes which they had caught had seized upon him and all that were with him;
10 ομοίως δε και τον Ιάκωβον και Ιωάννην, τους υιούς του Ζεβεδαίου, οίτινες ήσαν σύντροφοι του Σίμωνος. Και είπε προς τον Σίμωνα ο Ιησούς· Μη φοβού· από του νυν ανθρώπους θέλεις αγρεύει.
and in like manner also upon James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon: Fear not; from this time forth you shall catch men.
11 Και αφού έφεραν τα πλοία επί την γην, αφήσαντες άπαντα ηκολούθησαν αυτόν.
And when they had brought their ships to the land, they left all and followed him.
12 Και ενώ ήτο εν μιά των πόλεων ιδού, άνθρωπος πλήρης λέπρας· και ιδών τον Ιησούν, έπεσε κατά πρόσωπον και παρεκάλεσεν αυτόν, λέγων· Κύριε, εάν θέλης, δύνασαι να με καθαρίσης.
And it came to pass, that he was in one of their cities; and behold, a man full of leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and besought him, saying: Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 Και εκτείνας την χείρα, ήγγισεν αυτόν και είπε· Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι. Και ευθύς η λέπρα έφυγεν απ' αυτού.
And stretching out his hand, he touched him, and said: I will; be clean. And immediately his leprosy departed from him.
14 Και αυτός παρήγγειλεν αυτόν να μη είπη τούτο προς μηδένα, αλλ' ύπαγε, λέγει, και δείξον σεαυτόν εις τον ιερέα και πρόσφερε περί του καθαρισμού σου, καθώς προσέταξεν ο Μωϋσής, διά μαρτυρίαν εις αυτούς.
And he charged him to tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and make offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, that it may be a testimony to them.
15 Αλλ' έτι μάλλον διήρχετο η φήμη περί αυτού, και συνηθροίζοντο όχλοι πολλοί, διά να ακούωσι και να θεραπεύωνται υπ' αυτού από των ασθενειών αυτών·
But his fame went abroad the more; and many multitudes came together to hear, and to be cured by him of their infirmities.
16 αυτός δε απεσύρετο εις τας ερήμους και προσηύχετο.
And he withdrew to the deserts and prayed.
17 Και εν μιά των ημερών, ενώ αυτός εδίδασκεν, εκάθηντο Φαρισαίοι και νομοδιδάσκαλοι, οίτινες είχον ελθεί εκ πάσης κώμης της Γαλιλαίας και Ιουδαίας και Ιερουσαλήμ· και δύναμις Κυρίου ήτο εις το να ιατρεύη αυτούς.
And it came to pass, on a certain day, that he was teaching, and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was exerted to heal them.
18 Και ιδού, άνδρες φέροντες επί κλίνης άνθρωπον, όστις ήτο παραλυτικός, και εζήτουν να φέρωσιν αυτόν έσω και να θέσωσιν ενώπιον αυτού·
And behold, men brought, on a bed, a man who was a paralytic. And they sought how they might bring him in, and lay him before him.
19 και μη ευρόντες διά ποίας εισόδου να φέρωσιν αυτόν έσω εξ αιτίας του όχλου, ανέβησαν επί το δώμα και διά των κεραμίδων κατεβίβασαν αυτόν μετά του κλινιδίου εις το μέσον έμπροσθεν του Ιησού.
And finding no way by which they could bring him in, because of the multitude, they went up on the top of the house, and, through the tiling, let him down, with his bed, into the midst before Jesus.
20 Και ιδών την πίστιν αυτών, είπε προς αυτόν· Άνθρωπε, συγκεχωρημέναι είναι εις σε αι αμαρτίαι σου.
And when he saw their faith, he said to him: Man, your sins are forgiven you.
21 Και ήρχισαν να διαλογίζωνται οι γραμματείς και οι Φαρισαίοι, λέγοντες· Τις είναι ούτος, όστις λαλεί βλασφημίας; τις δύναται να συγχωρή αμαρτίας ειμή μόνος ο Θεός;
And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying: Who is this that utters impious words? Who can forgive sins but God alone?
22 Νοήσας δε ο Ιησούς τους διαλογισμούς αυτών, απεκρίθη και είπε προς αυτούς· Τι διαλογίζεσθε εν ταις καρδίαις σας;
But Jesus perceived their reasonings, and answered and said to them: Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
23 τι είναι ευκολώτερον, να είπω, Συγκεχωρημέναι είναι εις σε αι αμαρτίαι σου, ή να είπω, Σηκώθητι και περιπάτει;
Which is easier, to say., Your sins are forgiven you; or to say, Arise and walk?
24 αλλά διά να γνωρίσητε ότι εξουσίαν έχει ο Υιός του ανθρώπου επί της γης να συγχωρή αμαρτίας, είπε προς τον παραλυτικόν· Προς σε λέγω, Σηκώθητι και σήκωσον το κλινίδιόν σου και ύπαγε εις τον οίκόν σου.
But that you may know that the Son of man on the earth has power to forgive sins, (he said to the paralytic, ) I say to you, Arise, and take up your bed, and go to your house.
25 Και παρευθύς εγερθείς ενώπιον αυτών, εσήκωσε το κλινίδιον εφ' ου κατέκειτο και ανεχώρησεν εις τον οίκον αυτού, δοξάζων τον Θεόν.
And he immediately arose before them, took up that on which he had been lying, and went away to his own house, glorifying God.
26 Και έκστασις κατέλαβεν άπαντας και εδόξαζον τον Θεόν, και επλήσθησαν φόβου, λέγοντες ότι είδομεν παράδοξα σήμερον.
And astonishment seized upon all, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying: We have seen strange things to-day.
27 Και μετά ταύτα εξήλθε και είδε τελώνην τινά Λευΐν το όνομα, καθήμενον εις το τελώνιον, και είπε προς αυτόν· Ακολούθει μοι.
And after these tilings, he went out and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the custom-house; and he said to him: Follow me.
28 Και αφήσας άπαντα, εσηκώθη και ηκολούθησεν αυτόν.
And leaving all, he arose and followed him.
29 Και έκαμεν εις αυτόν ο Λευΐς υποδοχήν μεγάλην εν τη οικία αυτού, και ήτο πλήθος πολύ τελωνών και άλλων, οίτινες εκάθηντο μετ' αυτών εις την τράπεζαν.
And Levi made him a great feast at his own house; and there was a great multitude of publicans and others, who reclined at table with them.
30 Και εγόγγυζον οι γραμματείς αυτών και οι Φαρισαίοι προς τους μαθητάς αυτού, λέγοντες· Διά τι μετά τελωνών και αμαρτωλών τρώγετε και πίνετε;
And their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying: Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
31 Και αποκριθείς ο Ιησούς, είπε προς αυτούς· Δεν έχουσι χρείαν ιατρού οι υγιαίνοντες, αλλ' οι πάσχοντες.
And Jesus answered arid said to them: They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick.
32 Δεν ήλθον διά να καλέσω δικαίους, αλλά αμαρτωλούς εις μετάνοιαν.
I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners, to repentance.
33 Οι δε είπον προς αυτόν· Διά τι οι μαθηταί του Ιωάννου νηστεύουσι συχνά και κάμνουσι δεήσεις, ομοίως και οι των Φαρισαίων, οι δε ιδικοί σου τρώγουσι και πίνουσιν;
And they said to him: Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?
34 Ο δε είπε προς αυτούς· Μήπως δύνασθε να κάμητε τους υιούς του νυμφώνος να νηστεύωσιν, ενόσω είναι μετ' αυτών ο νυμφίος;
And he said to them: Can you make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35 θέλουσιν όμως ελθεί ημέραι, όταν αφαιρεθή απ' αυτών ο νυμφίος· τότε θέλουσι νηστεύει εν εκείναις ταις ημέραις.
But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them; then shall they fast in those days.
36 Έλεγε δε και παραβολήν προς αυτούς, ότι ουδείς βάλλει επίρραμμα ιματίου νέου επί ιμάτιον παλαιόν ει δε μη, και το νέον σχίζει και με το παλαιόν δεν συμφωνεί το επίρραμμα το από του νέου.
And he spoke also a parable to them: No one patches an old garment with a piece taken from a new garment. If so, the new tears it, and the patch from the new suits not the old.
37 Και ουδείς βάλλει οίνον νέον εις ασκούς παλαιούς ει δε μη, ο νέος οίνος θέλει σχίσει τους ασκούς, και αυτός θέλει εκχυθή και οι ασκοί θέλουσι φθαρή
And no one puts new wine into old bottles; if so, the new wine will burst the bottles, and it will be spilled, and the bottles will be destroyed.
38 αλλά πρέπει να βάλληται ο νέος οίνος εις ασκούς νέους, και αμφότερα διατηρούνται.
But new wine must be put into new bottles, and both will be preserved.
39 Και ουδείς αφού πίη οίνον παλαιόν, θέλει ευθύς νέον· διότι λέγει· Ο παλαιός είναι καλήτερος.
And no one, after drinking old wine, immediately desires new; for he says: The old is better.
