Κατα Λουκαν 4
1 Ο δε Ιησούς, πλήρης Πνεύματος Αγίου, υπέστρεψεν από τον Ιορδάνην και εφέρετο διά του Πνεύματος εις την έρημον,
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 πειραζόμενος υπό του διαβόλου ημέρας τεσσαράκοντα, και δεν έφαγεν ουδέν τας ημέρας εκείνας· αφού δε αύται ετελείωσαν, ύστερον επείνασε.
and was there forty days, to be tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days; and when they were ended, he was afterward hungry.
3 Και είπε προς αυτόν ο διάβολος· Εάν είσαι Υιός του Θεού, ειπέ προς τον λίθον τούτον να γείνη άρτος.
And the devil said to him: If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.
4 Και απεκρίθη ο Ιησούς προς αυτόν, λέγων· είναι γεγραμμένον ότι με άρτον μόνον δεν θέλει ζήσει ο άνθρωπος, αλλά με πάντα λόγον Θεού.
And Jesus answered him, and said: It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5 Και αναβιβάσας αυτόν ο διάβολος εις όρος υψηλόν, έδειξεν εις αυτόν πάντα τα βασίλεια της οικουμένης εν μιά στιγμή χρόνου,
And the devil took him up into a high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, in a moment of time.
6 και είπε προς αυτόν ο διάβολος· εις σε θέλω δώσει άπασαν την εξουσίαν ταύτην και την δόξαν αυτών, διότι εις εμέ είναι παραδεδομένη, και εις όντινα θέλω δίδω αυτήν.
And the devil said to him: I will give you all the authority and glory of these, for it is delivered to me; and to whomever I will, I give it.
7 Συ λοιπόν εάν προσκυνήσης ενώπιόν μου, σου θέλουσιν είσθαι πάντα.
If, therefore, you will bow with reverence before me, all shall be yours.
8 Και αποκριθείς προς αυτόν, είπεν ο Ιησούς· Ύπαγε οπίσω μου, Σατανά· διότι είναι γεγραμμένον, θέλεις προσκυνήσει Κύριον τον Θεόν σου και αυτόν μόνον θέλεις λατρεύσει.
And Jesus answered and said to him: Get behind me, Satan; it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.
9 Και έφερεν αυτόν εις Ιερουσαλήμ και έστησεν αυτόν επί το πτερύγιον του ιερού και είπε προς αυτόν· Εάν είσαι ο Υιός του Θεού, ρίψον σεαυτόν εντεύθεν κάτω·
And he brought him to Jerusalem, and placed him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him: If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from this place;
10 διότι είναι γεγραμμένον ότι εις τους αγγέλους αυτού θέλει προστάξει περί σου, διά να σε διαφυλάξωσι,
for it is written, He will give his angels charge concerning you, to guard you carefully;
11 και ότι θέλουσι σε σηκόνει επί των χειρών αυτών, διά να μη προσκόψης προς λίθον τον πόδα σου.
and in their hands they shall take you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
12 Και αποκριθείς είπε προς αυτόν ο Ιησούς ότι είναι ειρημένον, δεν θέλεις πειράσει Κύριον τον Θεόν σου.
And Jesus answered and said to him: It is said, You shall not put the Lord your God to the proof.
13 Και αφού ετελείωσε πάντα πειρασμόν ο διάβολος, απεμακρύνθη απ' αυτού μέχρι καιρού.
And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a time.
14 Και ο Ιησούς υπέστρεψεν εν τη δυνάμει του Πνεύματος εις την Γαλιλαίαν· και εξήλθε φήμη περί αυτού καθ' όλην την περίχωρον.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and his fame went throughout the whole of that region.
15 Και αυτός εδίδασκεν εν ταις συναγωγαίς αυτών, δοξαζόμενος υπό πάντων.
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Και ήλθεν εις την Ναζαρέτ, όπου ήτο ανατεθραμμένος, και εισήλθε κατά την συνήθειαν αυτού εις την συναγωγήν εν τη ημέρα του σαββάτου και εσηκώθη να αναγνώση.
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up; and, as his custom was, he entered the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and stood up to read.
17 Και εδόθη εις αυτόν το βιβλίον Ησαΐου του προφήτου, και ανοίξας το βιβλίον εύρε τον τόπον, όπου ήτο γεγραμμένον·
And the volume of Isaiah the prophet was given to him: and when he had unrolled the volume, he found the place where it was written:
18 Πνεύμα Κυρίου είναι επ' εμέ, διά τούτο με έχρισε· με απέστειλε διά να ευαγγελίζωμαι προς τους πτωχούς, διά να ιατρεύσω τους συτετριμμένους την καρδίαν, να κηρύξω προς τους αιχμαλώτους ελευθερίαν και προς τους τυφλούς ανάβλεψιν, να αποστείλω τους συντεθλασμένους εν ελευθερία,
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind; to set free the oppressed;
19 διά να κηρύξω ευπρόσδεκτον Κυρίου ενιαυτόν.
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 Και κλείσας το βιβλίον, απέδωκεν εις τον υπηρέτην και εκάθησε· πάντων δε οι οφθαλμοί των εν τη συναγωγή ήσαν ατενίζοντες εις αυτόν.
And he rolled up the volume, and save it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all that were in the synagogue were earnestly fixed upon him.
21 Και ήρχισε να λέγη προς αυτούς ότι σήμερον επληρώθη η γραφή αύτη εις τα ώτα υμών.
And he began to say to them: This scripture which you have heard, is this day fulfilled.
22 Και πάντες εμαρτύρουν εις αυτόν και εθαύμαζον διά τους λόγους της χάριτος τους εξερχομένους εκ του στόματος αυτού και έλεγον· Δεν είναι ούτος ο υιός του Ιωσήφ;
And all extolled him; and they wondered at the words of grace which proceeded out of his mouth, and said: Is not this the son of Joseph?
23 Και είπε προς αυτούς· Βεβαίως θέλετε με ειπεί την παραβολήν ταύτην· Ιατρέ, θεράπευσον σεαυτόν· όσα ηκούσαμεν ότι έγειναν εν τη Καπερναούμ, κάμε και εδώ εν τη πατρίδι σου.
And he said to them: You will assuredly apply to me this proverb, Physician, heal yourself. Whatever things we have heard were done in Capernaum, do also here in your country.
24 Είπε δέ· Αληθώς σας λέγω ότι ουδείς προφήτης είναι δεκτός εν τη πατρίδι αυτού.
And he said: Verily I say to you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
25 Και επ' αληθείας σας λέγω, Πολλαί χήραι ήσαν εν τω Ισραήλ επί των ημερών Ηλίου, ότε εκλείσθη ο ουρανός επί έτη τρία και μήνας εξ, καθ' ον καιρόν έγεινε πείνα μεγάλη εφ' όλην την γην,
And I tell you, in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, so that a great famine was on all the land:
26 και προς ουδεμίαν αυτών επέμφθη ο Ηλίας, ειμή εις Σαρεπτά της Σιδώνος προς γυναίκα χήραν.
and to no one of them was Elijah sent, but to Sarepta, a city of Sidon, to a woman that was a widow.
27 Και πολλοί λεπροί ήσαν επί Ελισαίου του προφήτου εν τω Ισραήλ, και ουδείς αυτών εκαθαρίσθη, ειμή Νεεμάν ο Σύρος.
And many lepers were in Israel, in the time of Elisha the prophet; and no one of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian.
28 Και επλήσθησαν πάντες θυμού εν τη συναγωγή, ακούοντες ταύτα,
And all that were in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with anger,
29 και σηκωθέντες εξέβαλον αυτόν έξω της πόλεως και έφεραν αυτόν έως της οφρύος του όρους, επί του οποίου η πόλις αυτών ήτο ωκοδομημένη, διά να κατακρημνίσωσιν αυτόν·
and arose, and drove him out of the city, and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw him down headlong.
30 αυτός όμως περάσας διά μέσου αυτών επορεύετο.
But he passed through the midst of them, and went away.
31 Και κατέβη εις Καπερναούμ, πόλιν της Γαλιλαίας, και εδίδασκεν αυτούς εν τοις σάββασι·
And he went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the sabbath-days.
32 και εξεπλήττοντο διά την διδαχήν αυτού, διότι ο λόγος αυτού ήτο μετά εξουσίας.
And they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33 Και εν τη συναγωγή ήτο άνθρωπος έχων πνεύμα δαιμονίου ακαθάρτου, και ανέκραξε μετά φωνής μεγάλης,
And there was in the synagogue a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon; and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 λέγων· Φευ, τι είναι μεταξύ υμών και σου, Ιησού Ναζαρηνέ; ήλθες να απολέσης ημάς; Σε γνωρίζω τις είσαι, ο Άγιος του Θεού.
saying: Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Nazarene? Hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
35 Και επετίμησεν αυτό ο Ιησούς, λέγων· Σιώπα και έξελθε εξ αυτού. Και το δαιμόνιον έρριψεν αυτόν εις το μέσον και εξήλθεν απ' αυτού, χωρίς να βλάψη αυτόν παντελώς.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying: Be silent, and come out of him. And the demon threw him into the midst, and came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 Και εξεπλάγησαν πάντες και συνελάλουν προς αλλήλους, λέγοντες· Τις είναι ο λόγος ούτος, ότι μετά εξουσίας και δυνάμεως προστάζει τα ακάθαρτα πνεύματα, και εξέρχονται;
And amazement came upon all, and they spoke one to another, saying: What teaching is this? for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 και διεδίδετο φήμη περί αυτού εις πάντα τόπον της περιχώρου.
And his fame went abroad into every place of the country round about.
38 Σηκωθείς δε εκ της συναγωγής, εισήλθεν εις την οικίαν του Σίμωνος. Η πενθερά δε του Σίμωνος εκρατείτο υπό πυρετού μεγάλου, και παρεκάλεσαν αυτόν περί αυτής.
And he arose and went out of the synagogue into the house of Simon. And Simon’s mother-in-law was confined with a violent fever: and they besought him in her behalf.
39 Και σταθείς επάνω αυτής επετίμησε τον πυρετόν, και αφήκεν αυτήν και παρευθύς σηκωθείσα υπηρέτει αυτούς.
And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever, and it left her: and she arose immediately, and ministered to them.
40 Ενώ δε έδυεν ο ήλιος, πάντες όσοι είχον ασθενούντας υπό διαφόρων νόσων έφεραν αυτούς προς αυτόν· εκείνος δε επιθέσας τας χείρας εις ένα έκαστον αυτών εθεράπευσεν αυτούς.
And when the sun had gone down, all that had any sick with various diseases, brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and cured them.
41 Εξήρχοντο δε και δαιμόνια από πολλών, κράζοντα και λέγοντα ότι Συ είσαι ο Χριστός ο Υιός του Θεού. Και επιτιμών αυτά δεν άφινε να λαλώσιν, επειδή εγνώριζον αυτόν ότι είναι ο Χριστός.
Demons also came out of many, crying out and saying: Thou art the Christ, the Son of God. And he rebuked them, and did not permit them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 Και ότε έγεινεν ημέρα, εξελθών υπήγεν εις έρημον τόπον και οι όχλοι εζήτουν αυτόν, και ήλθον έως αυτού και εκράτουν αυτόν διά να μη αναχωρήση απ' αυτών.
And when it was day, he went out and departed into a desert place; and the multitudes sought for him, and came to him and endeavored to detain him, that he should not go away from them.
43 Ο δε είπε προς αυτούς ότι Και εις τας άλλας πόλεις πρέπει να ευαγγελίσω την βασιλείαν του Θεού επειδή εις τούτο είμαι απεσταλμένος.
But he said to them: I must make known the good news of the kingdom of God to other cities also; for to this end I have been sent.
44 Και εκήρυττεν εν ταις συναγωγαίς της Γαλιλαίας.
And he continued to preach in the synagogues of Galilee.
