Κατα Λουκαν 13
1 Κατ' εκείνον δε τον καιρόν ήλθον τινές, απαγγέλλοντες προς αυτόν περί των Γαλιλαίων, των οποίων το αίμα ο Πιλάτος έμιξε με τας θυσίας αυτών.
And at that time, some came and told him of those Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 Και αποκριθείς ο Ιησούς, είπε προς αυτούς· Νομίζετε ότι οι Γαλιλαίοι ούτοι ήσαν αμαρτωλοί υπέρ πάντας τους Γαλιλαίους, διότι έπαθον τοιαύτα;
And Jesus replied, and said to them: Suppose ye, that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because this occurred to them?
3 Ουχί, σας λέγω, αλλ' εάν δεν μετανοήτε, πάντες ομοίως θέλετε απολεσθή.
No. And I say to you, That all of you also, unless ye repent, will likewise perish.
4 Η εκείνοι οι δεκαοκτώ, επί τους οποίους έπεσεν ο πύργος εν τω Σιλωάμ και εθανάτωσεν αυτούς, νομίζετε ότι ούτοι ήσαν αμαρτωλοί υπέρ πάντας τους ανθρώπους τους κατοικούντας εν Ιερουσαλήμ;
Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, suppose ye, that they were sinners beyond all the men inhabiting Jerusalem?
5 Ουχί, σας λέγω, αλλ' εάν δεν μετανοήτε, πάντες ομοίως θέλετε απολεσθή.
No. And I say to you, That except ye resent, ye like them will all of you perish.
6 Έλεγε δε ταύτην την παραβολήν· Είχε τις συκήν πεφυτευμένην εν τω αμπελώνι αυτού, και ήλθε ζητών καρπόν εν αυτή και δεν εύρε.
And he spoke this similitude: A man had a fig-tree that was planted in his vineyard: and he came, seeking fruits upon it, and found none.
7 Και είπε προς τον αμπελουργόν· Ιδού, τρία έτη έρχομαι ζητών καρπόν εν τη συκή ταύτη και δεν ευρίσκω· έκκοψον αυτήν· διά τι καταργεί και την γην;
And he said to the cultivator: Lo, these three years, I have come seeking fruits on this fig-tree, and I find none. Cut it down: why should it cumber the ground?
8 Ο δε αποκριθείς λέγει προς αυτόν· Κύριε, άφες αυτήν και τούτο το έτος, έως ότου σκάψω περί αυτήν και βάλω κοπρίαν·
The cultivator said to him: My Lord, spare it this year also, until I shall work about it, and manure it.
9 και εάν μεν κάμη καρπόν, καλώς· ει δε μη, θέλεις εκκόψει αυτήν μετά ταύτα.
And if it bear fruits, well; and if not, thou wilt cut it down: why should it live?
10 Εδίδασκε δε εν μιά των συναγωγών το σάββατον.
And when Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, on the sabbath,
11 Και ιδού, γυνή τις είχε πνεύμα ασθενείας δεκαοκτώ έτη και ήτο συγκύπτουσα και δεν ηδύνατο παντελώς να ανακύψη.
a woman was there who had had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bent over, and could not straighten herself at all.
12 Ιδών δε αυτήν ο Ιησούς, εφώναξε και είπε προς αυτήν· Γύναι, ηλευθερωμένη είσαι από της ασθενείας σου·
And Jesus saw her, and called her, and said to her: Woman, thou art released from thy infirmity.
13 και έθεσεν επ' αυτήν τας χείρας· και παρευθύς ανωρθώθη και εδόξαζε τον Θεόν.
And he put his hand upon her; and immediately she straightened her self up, and glorified God.
14 Αποκριθείς δε ο αρχισυνάγωγος, αγανακτών ότι εις το σάββατον εθεράπευσεν ο Ιησούς, έλεγε προς τον όχλον· Εξ ημέραι είναι, εις τας οποίας πρέπει να εργάζησθε· εν ταύταις λοιπόν ερχόμενοι θεραπεύεσθε, και μη τη ημέρα του σαββάτου.
And the chief of the synagogue, being angry that Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered, and said to the multitude: There are six days, on which it is lawful to work; on them come ye, and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 Απεκρίθη λοιπόν προς αυτόν ο Κύριος και είπεν· Υποκριτά, δεν λύει έκαστος υμών εν τω σαββάτω τον βουν αυτού ή τον όνον από της φάτνης και φέρων ποτίζει;
But Jesus replied, and said to him: Thou hypocrite! Doth not every one of you, on the sabbath, loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him to water?
16 αύτη δε, ούσα θυγάτηρ του Αβραάμ, την οποίαν ο Σατανάς έδεσεν, ιδού, δεκαοκτώ έτη, δεν έπρεπε να λυθή από του δεσμού τούτου τη ημέρα του σαββάτου;
And this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom the Calumniator hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, ought she not to be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 Και ενώ, αυτός έλεγε ταύτα, κατησχύνοντο πάντες οι εναντίοι αυτού, και πας ο όχλος έχαιρε δι' όλα τα ένδοξα έργα τα γινόμενα υπ' αυτού.
And when he had said these things, all those that stood up against him were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced in all the miracles that were wrought by his hand.
18 Έλεγε δέ· Με τι είναι ομοία η βασιλεία του Θεού, και με τι να ομοιώσω αυτήν;
And Jesus said: To what is the kingdom of God like? and with what shall I compare it?
19 Είναι ομοία με κόκκον σινάπεως, τον οποίον λαβών άνθρωπος έρριψεν εις τον κήπον αυτού· και ηύξησε και έγεινε δένδρον μέγα, και τα πετεινά του ουρανού κατεσκήνωσαν εν τοις κλάδοις αυτού.
It is like a grain of mustard, which a man took and cast into his garden; and it grew, and became a large tree; and a bird of heaven made her nest in its branches.
20 Και πάλιν είπε· Με τι να ομοιώσω την βασιλείαν του Θεού;
Jesus said again: With what shall I compare the kingdom of God?
21 Είναι ομοία με προζύμιον, το οποίον λαβούσα γυνή ενέκρυψεν εις τρία μέτρα αλεύρου, εωσού ανέβη όλον το φύραμα.
It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three seahs of meal, until the whole was fermented.
22 Και διήρχετο τας πόλεις και κώμας διδάσκων και οδοιπορών εις Ιερουσαλήμ.
And he travelled through the villages and cities, teaching and going towards Jerusalem.
23 Είπε δε τις προς αυτόν· Κύριε, ολίγοι άρα είναι οι σωζόμενοι; Ο δε είπε προς αυτούς·
And a person asked him, whether they were few who would have life?
24 Αγωνίζεσθε να εισέλθητε διά της στενής πύλης· διότι πολλοί, σας λέγω, θέλουσι ζητήσει να εισέλθωσι και δεν θέλουσι δυνηθή.
And Jesus said to them: Strive to enter the narrow gate: for I say to you, many will seek to enter, and will not be able.
25 Αφού σηκωθή ο οικοδεσπότης και αποκλείση την θύραν, και αρχίσητε να στέκησθε έξω και να κρούητε την θύραν, λέγοντες· Κύριε, Κύριε, άνοιξον εις ημάς· και εκείνος αποκριθείς σας είπη, δεν σας εξεύρω πόθεν είσθε·
From the time that the lord of the house shall rise and close the door, then ye will stand without, and knock at the door; and ye will begin to say: Our Lord, our Lord, open to us and he will answer, and say: I tell you, I know you not, whence ye are.
26 τότε θέλετε αρχίσει να λέγητε· Εφάγομεν έμπροσθέν σου και επίομεν, και εν ταις πλατείαις ημών εδίδαξας.
And ye will begin to say: We have eaten and drunken before thee; and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 Και θέλει ειπεί· Σας λέγω, δεν σας εξεύρω πόθεν είσθε· φύγετε απ' εμού πάντες οι εργάται της αδικίας.
And he will say to you: I know you not, whence ye are: depart from me, ye doers of falsehood.
28 Εκεί θέλει είσθαι ο κλαυθμός και ο τριγμός των οδόντων, όταν ίδητε τον Αβραάμ και Ισαάκ και Ιακώβ και πάντας τους προφήτας εν τη βασιλεία του Θεού, εαυτούς δε εκβαλλομένους έξω.
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye will see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God; and yourselves will be thrust out.
29 Και θέλουσιν ελθεί από ανατολών και δυσμών και από βορρά και νότου και θέλουσι καθήσει εν τη βασιλεία του Θεού.
And they will come from the east and from the west, and from the south and from the north, and will recline in the kingdom of God.
30 Και ιδού, είναι έσχατοι, οίτινες θέλουσιν είσθαι πρώτοι, και είναι πρώτοι, οίτινες θέλουσιν είσθαι έσχατοι.
And lo, there are last that will be first, and there are first that will be last.
31 Κατ' εκείνην την ημέραν προσήλθον τινές Φαρισαίοι, λέγοντες προς αυτόν· Έξελθε και αναχώρησον εντεύθεν, διότι ο Ηρώδης θέλει να σε θανατώση.
On the same day came some of the Pharisees, and said to him: Go, depart hence; for Herod purposeth to kill thee.
32 Και είπε προς αυτούς· Υπάγετε και είπατε προς την αλώπεκα ταύτην· Ιδού, εκβάλλω δαιμόνια και κάμνω θεραπείας σήμερον και αύριον, και την τρίτην ημέραν τελειούμαι.
Jesus said to them: Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures, to-day and to-morrow, and on the third day I shall be consummated.
33 Πλην πρέπει εγώ σήμερον και αύριον και την εφεξής ημέραν να υπάγω· διότι δεν είναι δυνατόν προφήτης να απολεσθή έξω της Ιερουσαλήμ.
But I must labor to-day and to-morrow, and on the following day I will go; because it cannot be, that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.
34 Ιερουσαλήμ, Ιερουσαλήμ, η φονεύουσα τους προφήτας και λιθοβολούσα τους απεσταλμένους προς αυτήν, ποσάκις ηθέλησα να συνάξω τα τέκνα σου καθ' ον τρόπον η όρνις τα ορνίθια εαυτής υπό τας πτέρυγας, και δεν ηθελήσατε.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how many times would I have gathered thy children, as a hen that gathereth her young under her wings, and ye would not?
35 Ιδού, σας αφίνεται ο οίκός σας έρημος· αληθώς δε σας λέγω ότι δεν θέλετε με ιδεί, εωσού έλθη ο καιρός ότε θέλετε ειπεί· Ευλογημένος ο ερχόμενος εν ονόματι Κυρίου.
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. For I say to you: Ye will not see me, until ye will say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
