Κατα Λουκαν 12
1 Εν τω μεταξύ αφού συνηθροίσθησαν αι μυριάδες του όχλου, ώστε κατεπάτουν αλλήλους, ήρχισε να λέγη προς τους μαθητάς αυτού πρώτον· Προσέχετε εις εαυτούς από της ζύμης των Φαρισαίων, ήτις είναι υπόκρισις.
Amongst which things, when the ten thousands of the multitude were gathered together, so that they were treading one upon another, he began to be saying, unto his disciples, first—Be keeping yourselves free from the leaven of the Pharisees, the which is, hypocrisy.
2 Αλλά δεν είναι ουδέν κεκαλυμμένον, το οποίον δεν θέλει ανακαλυφθή, και κρυπτόν, το οποίον δεν θέλει γνωρισθή·
But, nothing, hath been, covered up, which shall not be uncovered, and hidden, which shall not be made known.
3 όθεν όσα είπετε εν τω σκότει εν τω φωτί θέλουσιν ακουσθή, και ό, τι ελαλήσατε προς το ωτίον εν τοις ταμείοις θέλει κηρυχθή επί των δωμάτων.
Because, as many things as, in the darkness, ye have said, in the light, shall be heard; and, what to the ear ye spake, in the chambers, shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
4 Λέγω δε προς εσάς τους φίλους μου· Μη φοβηθήτε από των αποκτεινόντων το σώμα και μετά ταύτα μη δυναμένων περισσότερόν τι να πράξωσι.
And I say unto you, my friends—Do not be put in fear of them who kill the body, and, after these things, have nothing more uncommon which they can do.
5 Θέλω δε σας δείξει ποίον να φοβηθήτε· Φοβήθητε εκείνον, όστις αφού αποκτείνη, έχει εξουσίαν να ρίψη εις την γέενναν· ναι, σας λέγω, τούτον φοβήθητε. (Geenna g1067)
But I will suggest to you, whom ye should fear—Fear him who, after killing, hath authority to cast into gehenna, —Yea, I say unto you—Him, fear ye. (Geenna g1067)
6 Δεν πωλούνται πέντε στρουθία διά δύο ασσάρια; και εν εξ αυτών δεν είναι λελησμονημένον ενώπιον του Θεού·
Are not, five sparrows, sold for two farthings? and, not one from among them, hath been forgotten before God.
7 αλλά και αι τρίχες της κεφαλής υμών είναι πάσαι ηριθμημέναι. Μη φοβείσθε λοιπόν· από πολλών στρουθίων διαφέρετε.
But, even the hairs of your head, have all been numbered: Be not afraid: many sparrows, ye excel.
8 Σας λέγω δέ· Πας όστις με ομολογήση έμπροσθεν των ανθρώπων, και ο Υιός του ανθρώπου θέλει ομολογήσει αυτόν έμπροσθεν των αγγέλων του Θεού·
And I say unto you—Whosoever shall confess me before men, even the Son of Man, will confess him, before the messengers of God;
9 όστις δε με αρνηθή ενώπιον των ανθρώπων, και ο Υιός του ανθρώπου θέλει αρνηθή αυτόν ενώπιον των αγγέλων του Θεού.
But, he who denied me before men, shall be denied before the messengers of God.
10 Και πας όστις θέλει ειπεί λόγον κατά του Υιού του ανθρώπου, θέλει συγχωρηθή εις αυτόν· όστις όμως βλασφημήση κατά του Αγίου Πνεύματος, εις αυτόν δεν θέλει συγχωρηθή.
And, whosoever shall say a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but, unto him who, against the Holy Spirit, speaketh profanely, it shall not be forgiven.
11 Όταν δε σας φέρωσιν εις τας συναγωγάς και τας αρχάς και τας εξουσίας, μη μεριμνάτε πως ή τι να απολογηθήτε, ή τι να είπητε·
But, whensoever they shall be bringing you in before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, do not be anxious how, [or what] ye shall answer, or what ye shall say;
12 διότι το Άγιον Πνεύμα θέλει σας διδάξει εν αυτή τη ώρα τι πρέπει να είπητε.
For, the Holy Spirit, shall teach you, in that very hour, what ye ought to say.
13 Είπε δε τις προς αυτόν εκ του όχλου· Διδάσκαλε, ειπέ προς τον αδελφόν μου να μοιρασθή μετ' εμού την κληρονομίαν.
And one from amongst the multitude said unto him—Teacher! bid my brother divide with me the inheritance.
14 Ο δε είπε προς αυτόν· Άνθρωπε, τις με κατέστησε δικαστήν ή μεριστήν εφ' υμάς;
But, he, said unto him—Man! who hath appointed me a judge or divider over you?
15 Και είπε προς αυτούς· Προσέχετε και φυλάττεσθε από της πλεονεξίας· διότι εάν τις έχη περισσά, η ζωή αυτού δεν συνίσταται εκ των υπαρχόντων αυτού.
And he said unto them—Mind and be guarding yourselves from all covetousness; for not, in one’s abundance, doth his life spring out of his possessions.
16 Είπε δε προς αυτούς παραβολήν, λέγων· Ανθρώπου τινός πλουσίου ηυτύχησαν τα χωράφια·
And he spake a parable unto them, saying—A certain rich man’s estate, bare well.
17 Και διελογίζετο εν εαυτώ λέγων· Τι να κάμω, διότι δεν έχω που να συνάξω τους καρπούς μου;
And he began to deliberate within himself, saying—What shall I do? because I have not where I can gather my fruits.
18 Και είπε· Τούτο θέλω κάμει· θέλω χαλάσει τας αποθήκας μου και θέλω οικοδομήσει μεγαλητέρας και συνάξει εκεί πάντα τα γεννήματά μου και τα αγαθά μου,
And he said—This, will I do, —I will pull down my barns, and, greater ones, build, and gather, there, all my wheat and good things;
19 και θέλω ειπεί προς την ψυχήν μου· Ψυχή, έχεις πολλά αγαθά εναποτεταμιευμένα δι' έτη πολλά· αναπαύου, φάγε, πίε, ευφραίνου.
and will say to my soul—Soul! thou hast many good things [lying by for many years: be taking thy rest, eat, drink, ] be making merry!
20 Είπε δε προς αυτόν ο Θεός· Άφρον, ταύτην την νύκτα την ψυχήν σου απαιτούσιν από σού· όσα δε ητοίμασας, τίνος θέλουσιν είσθαι;
But God said unto him—Simple one! on this very night, they are asking, thy soul, from thee; The things, then, which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?
21 Ούτω θέλει είσθαι όστις θησαυρίζει εις εαυτόν και δεν πλουτεί εις Θεόν.
[So, is he that is laying up treasure for himself, and is not rich, towards God.]
22 Είπε δε προς τους μαθητάς αυτού· Διά τούτο λέγω προς εσάς, Μη μεριμνάτε διά την ζωήν σας, τι να φάγητε, μηδέ διά το σώμα, τι να ενδυθήτε.
And he said unto his disciples—For this cause, I say unto you, —Be not anxious for the life, what ye shall eat, nor yet for [your] body, what ye shall put on;
23 Η ζωή είναι τιμιώτερον της τροφής και το σώμα του ενδύματος.
For, the life, is more, than the food, and, the body, than, the clothing.
24 Παρατηρήσατε τους κόρακας, ότι δεν σπείρουσιν ουδέ θερίζουσιν, οίτινες δεν έχουσι ταμείον ουδέ αποθήκην, και ο Θεός τρέφει αυτούς· πόσω μάλλον σεις διαφέρετε των πτηνών.
Consider well the ravens—That they sow nor, neither do they reap, which have neither chamber nor barn, —and, God, feedeth, them! By how much do, ye, excel, the birds?
25 Και τις εξ υμών μεριμνών δύναται να προσθέση εις το ανάστημα αυτού μίαν πήχυν;
And, who from among you, though anxious, can, unto his stature, add a cubit?
26 Εάν λοιπόν ουδέ το ελάχιστον δύνασθε, τι μεριμνάτε περί των λοιπών;
If then, not even the least thing, ye can do, why, concerning the rest, are ye anxious?
27 Παρατηρήσατε τα κρίνα πως αυξάνουσι· δεν κοπιάζουσιν ουδέ κλώθουσι· σας λέγω όμως, ουδέ ο Σολομών εν πάση τη δόξη αυτού ενεδύθη ως εν τούτων.
Consider well the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you—Not even Solomon, in all his glory, was arrayed like one of these.
28 Αλλ' εάν τον χόρτον, όστις σήμερον είναι εν τω αγρώ και αύριον ρίπτεται εις κλίβανον, ο Θεός ενδύη ούτω, πόσω μάλλον εσάς, ολιγόπιστοι.
But, if God thus adorneth, the grass, which is, in a field, to-day, and, to-morrow, into an oven, is cast, how much rather you, O little-of-faith?
29 Και σεις μη ζητείτε τι να φάγητε ή τι να πίητε, και μη ήσθε μετέωροι·
Ye, therefore, be not seeking what ye shall eat and what ye shall drink, and be not held in suspense;
30 διότι ταύτα πάντα ζητούσι τα έθνη του κόσμου· υμών δε ο Πατήρ εξεύρει ότι έχετε χρείαν τούτων·
For, after all these things, do, the nations of the world, seek, —but, your Father, knoweth that ye need these things.
31 πλην ζητείτε την βασιλείαν του Θεού, και ταύτα πάντα θέλουσι σας προστεθή.
Notwithstanding, be seeking his kingdom, —and, these things, shall be added unto you.
32 Μη φοβού, μικρόν ποίμνιον· διότι ο Πατήρ σας ηυδόκησε να σας δώση την βασιλείαν.
Be not afraid, the dear little flock! for your Father delighteth to give you, the kingdom.
33 Πωλήσατε τα υπάρχοντά σας και δότε ελεημοσύνην. Κάμετε εις εαυτούς βαλάντια τα οποία δεν παλαιούνται, θησαυρόν εν τοις ουρανοίς όστις δεν εκλείπει, όπου κλέπτης δεν πλησιάζει ουδέ ο σκώληξ διαφθείρει·
Sell your possessions, and give alms, make for yourselves purses that wax not old, —treasure unfailing, in the heavens, where, thief, doth not draw near, and, moth, doth not spoil.
34 διότι όπου είναι ο θησαυρός σας, εκεί θέλει είσθαι και η καρδία σας.
For, where your treasure is, there, will your heart he also.
35 Ας ήναι αι οσφύες σας περιεζωσμέναι και οι λύχνοι καιόμενοι·
Let your loins be girded, and your lamps burning,
36 και σεις όμοιοι με ανθρώπους, οίτινες προσμένουσι τον κύριον αυτών, πότε θέλει επιστρέψει εκ των γάμων, διά να ανοίξωσιν ευθύς εις αυτόν όταν έλθη και κρούση.
And, ye yourselves, like unto men awaiting their own lord, once he may break up out of the marriage-feast, —that, when he cometh and knocketh, straightway, they may open unto him.
37 Μακάριοι οι δούλοι εκείνοι, τους οποίους ελθών ο κύριος θέλει ευρεί αγρυπνούντας. Αληθώς σας λέγω, ότι θέλει περιζωσθή και καθίσει αυτούς εις την τράπεζαν, και ελθών εις το μέσον θέλει υπηρετήσει αυτούς.
Happy those servants, whom the lord, when he cometh, shall find watching! Verily, I say unto you—he will gird himself, and make them recline, and, coming near, will minister unto them.
38 Και εάν έλθη εν τη δευτέρα φυλακή και εν τη τρίτη φυλακή έλθη και εύρη ούτω, μακάριοι είναι οι δούλοι εκείνοι.
And, if, in the second, or if, in the third, watch, he come and find, thus, happy, are, they!
39 Τούτο δε γινώσκετε, ότι εάν ήξευρεν ο οικοδεσπότης ποίαν ώραν ο κλέπτης έρχεται, ήθελεν αγρυπνήσει και δεν ήθελεν αφήσει να διορυχθή ο οίκος αυτού.
But, of this, be taking note—Had the householder known, in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not suffered his house, to be digged through.
40 Και σεις λοιπόν γίνεσθε έτοιμοι· διότι καθ' ην ώραν δεν στοχάζεσθε, έρχεται ο Υιός του ανθρώπου.
Ye, therefore, be getting ready, because, in what hour ye are not thinking, The Son of Man cometh!
41 Είπε δε προς αυτόν ο Πέτρος· Κύριε, προς ημάς λέγεις την παραβολήν ταύτην ή και προς πάντας;
But Peter said—Lord! unto us, this parable, speakest thou? or, even unto all?
42 Και ο Κύριος είπε· Τις λοιπόν είναι ο πιστός οικονόμος και φρόνιμος, τον οποίον θέλει καταστήσει ο κύριος αυτού επί των υπηρετών αυτού, διά να δίδη εν καιρώ την διωρισμένην τροφήν;
And the Lord said—Who then is the faithful steward, the prudent one, whom the lord will appoint over his body of attendants, to be giving, in due season, the measured allowance of wheat?
43 Μακάριος ο δούλος εκείνος, τον οποίον ελθών ο κύριος αυτού θέλει ευρεί πράττοντα ούτως.
Happy, that servant, whom the lord, when he cometh shall find doing, thus!
44 Αληθώς σας λέγω, ότι θέλει καταστήσει αυτόν επί πάντων των υπαρχόντων αυτού.
Of a truth, I say unto you—Over all his possessions, will he appoint him.
45 Εάν δε είπη ο δούλος εκείνος εν τη καρδία αυτού, Βραδύνει να έλθη ο κύριός μου· και αρχίση να δέρη τους δούλους και τας δούλας, και να τρώγη και να πίνη και να μεθύη,
But, if that servant should say in his heart—My lord delayeth to come! and should begin to be striking the youths and the maidens, —to be eating also, and drinking, and making himself drunk,
46 θέλει ελθεί ο κύριος του δούλου εκείνου, καθ' ην ημέραν δεν προσμένει και καθ' ην ώραν δεν εξεύρει, και θέλει αποχωρίσει αυτόν, και το μέρος αυτού θέλει θέσει μετά των απίστων.
The lord of that servant, will have come—on a day when he is not expecting, and in an hour when he is not taking note, —and will cut him asunder, and, his part, with the unfaithful, will appoint.
47 Εκείνος δε ο δούλος, όστις γνωρίσας το θέλημα του κυρίου αυτού δεν ητοίμασεν ουδέ έκαμε κατά το θέλημα αυτού, θέλει δαρθή πολύ·
And, that servant, who had come to know the will of his lord, and neither prepared, nor wrought unto his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;
48 όστις όμως μη γνωρίσας έπραξεν άξια δαρμών, θέλει δαρθή ολίγον· εις πάντα δε, εις τον οποίον εδόθη πολύ, πολύ θέλει ζητηθή παρ' αυτού, και εις όντινα ενεπιστεύθη πολύ, περισσότερον θέλουσιν απαιτήσει παρ' αυτού.
Whereas, he who had not come to know, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And, every one to whom was given much, much, shall be sought from him; and, he to whom they committed much, for more than common, will they ask him.
49 Πυρ ήλθον να βάλω εις την γην, και τι θέλω, εάν ήδη ανήφθη;
Fire, came I to cast upon the earth, —and what can I wish, if, already, it hath been, kindled?
50 Βάπτισμα δε έχω να βαπτισθώ, και πως στενοχωρούμαι εωσού εκτελεσθή.
But, an immersion, have I, to be immersed with, and how am I distressed, until it be ended!
51 Νομίζετε ότι ήλθον να δώσω ειρήνην εν τη γη; ουχί, σας λέγω, αλλά διαχωρισμόν.
Suppose ye, that, peace, I am come to give in the earth? Nay, I tell you, but rather division.
52 Διότι από του νυν θέλουσιν είσθαι πέντε εν οίκω ενί διακεχωρισμένοι, οι τρεις κατά των δύο και οι δύο κατά των τριών·
For there shall be, henceforth, five in one house, divided, —three against two, and two against three:
53 Θέλει διαχωρισθή πατήρ κατά υιού και υιός κατά πατρός, μήτηρ κατά θυγατρός και θυγάτηρ κατά μητρός, πενθερά κατά της νύμφης αυτής και νύμφη κατά της πενθεράς αυτής.
There shall be divided—Father against son, and son against father, mother against daughter, and daughter against the mother, —mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against the mother-in-law.
54 Έλεγε και προς τους όχλους· Όταν ίδητε την νεφέλην ανυψουμένην από δυσμών, ευθύς λέγετε, Βροχή έρχεται, και γίνεται ούτω·
And he went on to say, even unto the multitudes, —Whensoever ye see a cloud springing up from the west, straightway, ye are saying—A thunderstorm is coming! and it happeneth thus.
55 και όταν νότον πνέοντα, λέγετε ότι καύσων θέλει είσθαι, και γίνεται.
And, whensoever a south wind, blowing, ye say—A scorching heat, will there be! and it cometh to pass.
56 Υποκριταί, το πρόσωπον της γης και του ουρανού εξεύρετε να διακρίνητε, τον δε καιρόν τούτον πως δεν διακρίνετε;
Hypocrites! the face of the earth and of the heaven, ye know how to scan; but, this season, how know ye not to scan;
57 Διά τι δε και αφ' εαυτών δεν κρίνετε το δίκαιον;
Why, moreover, even from yourselves, judge ye not what is just?
58 Ενώ λοιπόν υπάγεις μετά του αντιδίκου σου προς τον άρχοντα, προσπάθησον καθ' οδόν να απαλλαχθής απ' αυτού, μήποτε σε σύρη προς τον κριτήν, και ο κριτής σε παραδώση εις τον υπηρέτην, και ο υπηρέτης σε βάλη εις φυλακήν.
For, as thou art going along with thine adversary unto a ruler, on the way, take pains to get a release from him; lest once he drag thee along unto the judge, and, the judge, deliver thee up to the punisher, —and, the punisher, cast thee into prison:
59 Σοι λέγω, δεν θέλεις εξέλθει εκείθεν, εωσού αποδώσης και το έσχατον λεπτόν.
I tell thee—In nowise shalt thou come out from thence, until, even the last fraction, thou pay!
