Κριταί 13

1 Και έπραξαν πάλιν οι υιοί Ισραήλ πονηρά ενώπιον του Κυρίου· και παρέδωκεν αυτούς ο Κύριος εις την χείρα των Φιλισταίων τεσσαράκοντα έτη.

Bvt the children of Israel continued to commit wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord deliuerd them into the handes of the Philistims fourtie yeere.

2 Ήτο δε άνθρωπός τις από Σαραά, εκ της συγγενείας Δαν, και το όνομα αυτού Μανωέ· η δε γυνή αυτού ήτο στείρα, και δεν εγέννα.

Then there was a man in Zorah of the familie of the Danites, named Manoah, whose wife was baren, and bare not.

3 Και εφάνη άγγελος Κυρίου εις την γυναίκα και είπε προς αυτήν, Ιδού, τώρα είσαι στείρα και δεν γεννάς· πλην θέλεις συλλάβει και θέλεις γεννήσει υιόν·

And the Angel of the Lord appeared vnto the woman, and said vnto her, Beholde nowe, thou art baren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceiue, and beare a sonne.

4 και τώρα λοιπόν πρόσεχε μη πίης οίνον ή σίκερα και μη φάγης μηδέν ακάθαρτον·

And nowe therefore beware that thou drinke no wine, nor strong drinke, neither eate any vncleane thing.

5 διότι, ιδού, θέλεις συλλάβει και θέλεις γεννήσει υιόν· και ξυράφιον δεν θέλει αναβή επί την κεφαλήν αυτού, διότι το παιδίον θέλει είσθαι Ναζηραίος εις τον Θεόν εκ κοιλίας μητρός αυτού· και αυτός θέλει αρχίσει να ελευθερόνη τον Ισραήλ εκ της χειρός των Φιλισταίων.

For loe, thou shalt conceiue and beare a sonne, and no rasor shall come on his head: for the childe shall be a Nazarite vnto God from his birth: and he shall begin to saue Israel out of the handes of the Philistims.

6 Και υπήγεν η γυνή και είπε προς τον άνδρα αυτής, λέγουσα, Άνθρωπος Θεού ήλθε προς εμέ, και το είδος αυτού ήτο ως είδος αγγέλου Θεού, φοβερόν σφόδρα· αλλά δεν ηρώτησα αυτόν πόθεν είναι, ουδέ το όνομα αυτού εφανέρωσεν εις εμέ·

Then the wife came, and tolde her husband, saying, A man of God came vnto me, and the facion of him was like the facion of the Angel of God exceeding feareful, but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name,

7 και είπε προς εμέ, Ιδού, θέλεις συλλάβει και θέλεις γεννήσει υιόν· τώρα λοιπόν μη πίης οίνον μηδέ σίκερα και μη φάγης μηδέν ακάθαρτον· διότι το παιδίον θέλει είσθαι Ναζηραίος εις τον Θεόν, εκ κοιλίας μητρός αυτού έως της ημέρας του θανάτου αυτού.

But he saide vnto me, Beholde, thou shalt conceiue, and beare a sonne, and nowe thou shalt drinke no wine, nor strong drinke, neither eate any vncleane thing: for the childe shalbe a Nazarite to God from his birth to the day of his death.

8 Τότε προσευχήθη ο Μανωέ προς τον Κύριον, και είπε, Δέομαι, Κύριέ μου, ο άνθρωπος του Θεού, τον οποίον απέστειλας, ας έλθη πάλιν προς ημάς και ας διδάξη ημάς τι να κάμωμεν εις το παιδίον, το οποίον μέλλει να γεννηθή.

Then Manoah prayed to the Lord and saide, I pray thee, my Lord, Let the man of God, whome thou sentest, come againe nowe vnto vs, and teach vs what we shall doe vnto the child when he is borne.

9 Και εισήκουσεν ο Θεός την φωνήν του Μανωέ· και ήλθε πάλιν ο άγγελος του Θεού προς την γυναίκα, ενώ αυτή εκάθητο εν τω αγρώ· ο δε Μανωέ ο ανήρ αυτής δεν ήτο μετ' αυτής.

And God heard the voyce of Manoah, and the Angel of God came againe vnto the wife, as she sate in the fielde, but Manoah her husband was not with her.

10 Και έτρεξεν η γυνή μετά σπουδής και ανήγγειλε προς τον άνδρα αυτής, λέγουσα προς αυτόν, Ιδού, εφάνη εις εμέ ο άνθρωπος, όστις ήλθε προς εμέ την ημέραν εκείνην.

And the wife made haste and ranne, and shewed her husband and sayde vnto him, Behold, the man hath appeared vnto me, that came vnto me to day.

11 Και εσηκώθη ο Μανωέ και ηκολούθησε την γυναίκα αυτού και ήλθε προς τον άνθρωπον και είπε προς αυτόν, Συ είσαι ο άνθρωπος όστις ελάλησας προς την γυναίκα; Ο δε είπεν, Εγώ.

And Manoah arose and went after his wife, and came to the man, and saide vnto him, Art thou the man that spakest vnto the woman? and he said, Yea.

12 Και είπεν ο Μανωέ, Τώρα γενηθήτω ο λόγος σου· τι πρέπει να κάμωμεν εις το παιδίον και τι να γείνη εις αυτό;

Then Manoah sayde, Nowe let thy saying come to passe: but howe shall we order the childe and doe vnto him?

13 Και είπεν ο άγγελος του Κυρίου προς τον Μανωέ, Από πάντων όσα είπα προς την γυναίκα, ας φυλαχθή·

And the Angell of the Lord saide vnto Manoah, The woman must beware of all that I said vnto her.

14 από παντός ό, τι εξέρχεται εξ αμπέλου ας μη φάγη και οίνον και σίκερα ας μη πίη· και μηδέν ακάθαρτον ας μη φάγη· πάντα όσα παρήγγειλα εις αυτήν, ας φυλάξη.

She may eate of nothing that commeth of the vinetree: she shall not drinke wine nor strong drinke, nor eate any vncleane thing: let her obserue all that I haue commanded her.

15 Και είπεν ο Μανωέ προς τον άγγελον του Κυρίου, να σε κρατήσωμεν, παρακαλώ, και να ετοιμάσωμεν εις σε ερίφιον εξ αιγών.

Manoah then said vnto the Angell of the Lord, I pray thee, let vs reteine thee, vntill we haue made readie a kid for thee.

16 Και είπεν ο άγγελος του Κυρίου προς τον Μανωέ, Και αν με κρατήσης, δεν θέλω φάγει από του άρτου σου· και εάν κάμης ολοκαύτωμα, προς τον Κύριον πρόσφερε αυτό· διότι δεν εγνώρισεν ο Μανωέ ότι ήτο άγγελος Κυρίου.

And the Angel of the Lord said vnto Manoah, Though thou make me abide, I will not eate of thy bread, and if thou wilt make a burnt offring, offer it vnto the Lord: for Manoah knewe not that it was an Angel of the Lord.

17 Και είπεν ο Μανωέ προς τον άγγελον του Κυρίου, Τι είναι το όνομά σου, διά να σε δοξάσωμεν, αφού εκπληρωθή ο λόγος σου;

Againe Manoah said vnto the Angell of the Lord, What is thy name, that when thy saying is come to passe, we may honour thee?

18 Ο δε άγγελος του Κυρίου είπε προς αυτόν, Διά τι ερωτάς περί του ονόματός μου; διότι είναι θαυμαστόν.

And the Angell of the Lord saide vnto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, which is secret?

19 Τότε έλαβεν ο Μανωέ το ερίφιον το εξ αιγών και την εξ αλφίτων προσφοράν και προσέφερεν εις τον Κύριον επί της πέτρας· και εθαυματούργησεν· ο δε Μανωέ και η γυνή αυτού έβλεπον.

Then Manoah tooke a kid with a meate offering, and offered it vpon a stone vnto the Lord: and the Angell did wonderously, whiles Manoah and his wife looked on.

20 Διότι, ενώ η φλόξ ανέβαινεν επάνωθεν του θυσιαστηρίου προς τον ουρανόν, ανέβη και ο άγγελος του Κυρίου εν τη φλογί του θυσιαστηρίου· ο δε Μανωέ και η γυνή αυτού έβλεπον· και έπεσαν κατά πρόσωπον επί την γην.

For when the flame came vp toward heauen from the altar, the Angel of the Lord ascended vp in the flame of the altar, and Manoah and his wife behelde it, and fell on their faces vnto the grounde.

21 Και δεν εφάνη πλέον ο άγγελος του Κυρίου εις τον Μανωέ και εις την γυναίκα αυτού. Τότε εγνώρισεν ο Μανωέ ότι ήτο άγγελος Κυρίου.

(So the Angel of the Lord did no more appeare vnto Manoah and his wife.) Then Manoah knewe that it was an Angel of the Lord.

22 Και είπεν ο Μανωέ προς την γυναίκα αυτού, Βεβαίως θέλομεν αποθάνει, διότι είδομεν τον Θεόν.

And Manoah said vnto his wife, We shall surely dye, because we haue seene God.

23 Αλλ' η γυνή αυτού είπε προς αυτόν, Εάν ο Κύριος ήθελε να θανατώση ημάς, δεν ήθελε δεχθή ολοκαύτωμα και προσφοράν εκ της χειρός ημών, ουδέ ήθελε δείξει εις ημάς πάντα ταύτα, ουδέ αναγγείλει προς ημάς τοιαύτα εν τοιούτω καιρώ.

But his wife saide vnto him, If the Lord woulde kill vs, he woulde not haue receiued a burnt offring, and a meate offring of our hands, neither would he haue shewed vs all these things, nor would now haue tolde vs any such.

24 Και εγέννησεν η γυνή υιόν και εκάλεσε το όνομα αυτού Σαμψών· και ηυξήνθη το παιδίον, και ευλόγησεν αυτό ο Κύριος.

And the wife bare a sonne, and called his name Samson: and the childe grewe, and the Lord blessed him.

25 Και πνεύμα Κυρίου ήρχισε να διεγείρη αυτό εν τω στρατοπέδω του Δαν, μεταξύ Σαραά και Εσθαόλ.

And the Spirite of the Lord beganne to strengthen him in the host of Dan, betweene Zorah, and Eshtaol.
