Κριταί 10

1 Και εσηκώθη μετά τον Αβιμέλεχ διά να σώση τον Ισραήλ Θωλά ο υιός του Φουά, υιού του Δωδώ, ανήρ του Ισσάχαρ· και αυτός κατώκει εν Σαμίρ εν τω όρει Εφραΐμ.

After Abimelech there arose to defend Israel, Tola, the sonne of Puah, the sone of Dodo, a man of Issachar, which dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim.

2 Και έκρινε τον Ισραήλ εικοσιτρία έτη· και απέθανε, και ετάφη εν Σαμίρ.

And he iudged Israel three and twentie yeere and dyed, and was buried in Shamir.

3 Και μετ' αυτόν εσηκώθη Ιαείρ ο Γαλααδίτης και έκρινε τον Ισραήλ εικοσιδύο έτη.

And after him arose Iair a Gileadite, and iudged Israel two and twenty yeere.

4 Είχε δε τριάκοντα υιούς, οίτινες επέβαινον εις τριάκοντα πωλάρια και είχον τριάκοντα πόλεις, καλουμένας Χώραι του Ιαείρ έως της σήμερον, αίτινες είναι εν γη Γαλαάδ.

And he had thirtie sonnes that rode on thirtie assecolts, and they had thirtie cities, which are called Hauoth-Iair vnto this day, and are in the land of Gilead.

5 Απέθανε δε ο Ιαείρ, και ετάφη εν Καμών.

And Iair dyed, and was buried in Kamon.

6 Και έπραξαν πάλιν οι υιοί Ισραήλ πονηρά ενώπιον του Κυρίου και ελάτρευσαν τους Βααλείμ και τας Ασταρώθ και τους θεούς της Αράμ και τους θεούς της Σιδώνος και τους θεούς του Μωάβ και τους θεούς των υιών Αμμών και τους θεούς των Φιλισταίων, και εγκατέλιπον τον Κύριον και δεν ελάτρευσαν αυτόν.

And the children of Israel wrought wickednesse againe in the sight of the Lord, and serued Baalim and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistims, and forsooke the Lord and serued not him.

7 Και εξήφθη ο θυμός του Κυρίου εναντίον του Ισραήλ, και επώλησεν αυτούς εις την χείρα των Φιλισταίων και εις την χείρα των υιών Αμμών.

Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he solde them into the hands of the Philistims, and into the handes of the children of Ammon:

8 Και εξ εκείνου του έτους κατέθλιψαν και κατεδυνάστευσαν τους υιούς Ισραήλ δεκαοκτώ έτη, πάντας τους υιούς Ισραήλ τους πέραν του Ιορδάνου, εν τη γη των Αμορραίων, ήτις είναι εν Γαλαάδ.

Who from that yere vexed and oppressed the children of Israel eighteene yeres, euen all the children of Israel that were beyond Iorden, in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

9 Και διέβησαν οι υιοί Αμμών τον Ιορδάνην, διά να πολεμήσωσι και εναντίον του Ιούδα και εναντίον του Βενιαμίν και εναντίον του οίκου Εφραΐμ· ώστε ο Ισραήλ ήτο εν άκρα αμηχανία.

Moreouer, the children of Ammon went ouer Iorden to fight against Iudah, and against Beniamin, and against the house of Ephraim: so that Israel was sore tormented.

10 Και εβόησαν οι υιοί Ισραήλ προς τον Κύριον, λέγοντες, Ημαρτήσαμεν εις σε, διότι εγκατελίπομεν τον Θεόν ημών και ελατρεύσαμεν τους Βααλείμ.

Then the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lord, saying, We haue sinned against thee, euen because we haue forsaken our owne God, and haue serued Baalim.

11 Και είπε Κύριος προς τους υιούς Ισραήλ, Δεν σας ελύτρωσα από των Αιγυπτίων και από των Αμορραίων, από των υιών Αμμών και από των Φιλισταίων;

And the Lord sayd vnto the children of Israel, Did not I deliuer you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon and from the Philistims?

12 οι Σιδώνιοι έτι και οι Αμαληκίται και οι Μαωνίται σας κατέθλιψαν· και εβοήσατε προς εμέ, και εγώ σας ελύτρωσα εκ της χειρός αυτών·

The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites did oppresse you, and ye cryed to me and I saued you out of their hands.

13 αλλά σεις με εγκατελίπετε και ελατρεύσατε άλλους θεούς· διά τούτο δεν θέλω σας λυτρώσει πλέον·

Yet ye haue forsaken me, and serued other gods: wherefore I will deliuer you no more.

14 υπάγετε και βοήσατε προς τους θεούς τους οποίους εξελέξατε· αυτοί ας σας λυτρώσωσιν εν τω καιρώ της αμηχανίας σας.

Goe, and cry vnto the gods which ye haue chosen: let them saue you in the time of your tribulation.

15 Και είπαν προς τον Κύριον οι υιοί Ισραήλ, Ημαρτήσαμεν· κάμε συ εις ημάς όπως είναι αρεστόν εις τους οφθαλμούς σου· πλην λύτρωσον ημάς, δεόμεθα, την ημέραν ταύτην.

And the children of Israel sayde vnto the Lord, We haue sinned: doe thou vnto vs whatsoeuer please thee: onely we pray thee to deliuer vs this day.

16 Και απέβαλον τους θεούς τους ξένους εκ μέσου αυτών και ελάτρευσαν τον Κύριον, και εσπλαγχνίσθη η ψυχή αυτού εις την δυστυχίαν του Ισραήλ.

Then they put away the strange gods from among them and serued the Lord: and his soule was grieued for the miserie of Israel.

17 Τότε συνήχθησαν οι υιοί Αμμών και εστρατοπέδευσαν εν Γαλαάδ. Και συνηθροίσθησαν οι υιοί Ισραήλ και εστρατοπέδευσαν εν Μισπά.

Then the children of Ammon gathered themselues together, and pitched in Gilead: and the children of Israel assembled themselues, and pitched in Mizpeh.

18 Και είπον ο λαός, οι άρχοντες της Γαλαάδ, προς αλλήλους, Τις θέλει αρχίσει να πολεμή εναντίον των υιών Αμμών; αυτός θέλει είσθαι αρχηγός επί πάντων των κατοίκων της Γαλαάδ.

And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, Whosoeuer will beginne the battell against the children of Ammon, the same shall be head ouer all the inhabitants of Gilead.
