Ἰώβ 34
1 Επανελάβε δε ο Ελιού και είπεν·
Moreouer Elihu answered, and saide,
2 Ακούσατε τους λόγους μου, ω σοφοί· και δότε ακρόασιν εις εμέ, οι νοήμονες·
Heare my wordes, ye wise men, and hearken vnto me, ye that haue knowledge.
3 Διότι το ωτίον δοκιμάζει τους λόγους, ο δε ουρανίσκος γεύεται το φαγητόν.
For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate.
4 Ας εκλέξωμεν εις εαυτούς κρίσιν· ας γνωρίσωμεν μεταξύ ημών τι το καλόν.
Let vs seeke iudgement among vs, and let vs knowe among our selues what is good.
5 Διότι ο Ιώβ είπεν, Είμαι δίκαιος· και ο Θεός αφήρεσε την κρίσιν μου·
For Iob hath saide, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my iudgement.
6 εψεύσθην εις την κρίσιν μου· η πληγή μου είναι ανίατος, άνευ παραβάσεως.
Should I lye in my right? my wound of the arrowe is grieuous without my sinne.
7 Τις άνθρωπος ως ο Ιώβ, όστις καταπίνει τον χλευασμόν ως ύδωρ·
What man is like Iob, that drinketh scornfulnesse like water?
8 και υπάγει εν συνοδία μετά των εργατών της ανομίας, και περιπατεί μετά ανθρώπων ασεβών;
Which goeth in the companie of them that worke iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men?
9 Διότι είπεν, ουδέν ωφελεί τον άνθρωπον το να ευαρεστή εις τον Θεόν.
For he hath saide, It profiteth a man nothing that he should walke with God.
10 Διά τούτο ακούσατέ μου, άνδρες συνετοί· μη γένοιτο να υπάρχη εις τον Θεόν αδικία, και εις τον Παντοδύναμον ανομία.
Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of wisedome, God forbid that wickednesse should be in God, and iniquitie in the Almightie.
11 Επειδή κατά το έργον του ανθρώπου θέλει αποδώσει εις αυτόν, και θέλει κάμει έκαστον να εύρη κατά την οδόν αυτού.
For he will render vnto man according to his worke, and cause euery one to finde according to his way.
12 Ναι, βεβαίως ο Θεός δεν θέλει πράξει ασεβώς, ουδέ θέλει διαστρέψει ο Παντοδύναμος την κρίσιν.
And certainely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almightie peruert iudgement.
13 Τις κατέστησεν αυτόν επιτηρητήν της γης; ή τις διέταξε πάσαν την οικουμένην;
Whome hath he appointed ouer the earth beside him selfe? or who hath placed the whole worlde?
14 Εάν βάλη την καρδίαν αυτού επί τον άνθρωπον, θέλει σύρει εις εαυτόν το πνεύμα αυτού και την πνοήν αυτού·
If he set his heart vpon man, and gather vnto him selfe his spirit and his breath,
15 πάσα σαρξ θέλει εκπνεύσει ομού, και ο άνθρωπος θέλει επιστρέψει εις το χώμα.
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall returne vnto dust.
16 Εάν τώρα έχης σύνεσιν· άκουσον τούτο· ακροάθητι της φωνής των λόγων μου.
And if thou hast vnderstanding, heare this and hearken to the voyce of my wordes.
17 Μήπως κυβερνά ο μισών την ευθύτητα; και θέλεις καταδικάσει τον κατ' εξοχήν δίκαιον;
Shal he that hateth iudgement, gouerne? and wilt thou iudge him wicked that is most iust?
18 όστις λέγει προς βασιλέα, Είσαι ασεβής, προς άρχοντας, Είσθε κακοί;
Wilt thou say vnto a King, Thou art wicked? or to princes, Ye are vngodly?
19 Όστις δεν προσωποληπτεί εις άρχοντας ουδέ αποβλέπει εις τον πλούσιον μάλλον παρά εις τον πτωχόν; επειδή πάντες ούτοι είναι έργον των χειρών αυτού.
How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, and regardeth not the rich, more then the poore? for they be all the worke of his handes.
20 Εν μιά στιγμή θέλουσιν αποθάνει, και το μεσονύκτιον ο λαός θέλει ταραχθή και θέλει παρέλθει· και ο ισχυρός θέλει αναρπαχθή, ουχί υπό χειρός.
They shall die suddenly, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and they shall passe foorth and take away the mightie without hand.
21 Διότι οι οφθαλμοί αυτού είναι επί τας οδούς του ανθρώπου, Και βλέπει πάντα τα βήματα αυτού.
For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings.
22 Δεν είναι σκότος ουδέ σκιά θανάτου, όπου οι εργάται της ανομίας να κρυφθώσιν.
There is no darkenesse nor shadowe of death, that the workers of iniquitie might be hid therein.
23 Επειδή δεν θέλει αφήσει πλέον τον άνθρωπον να έλθη εις κρίσιν μετά του Θεού.
For he will not lay on man so much, that he should enter into iudgement with God.
24 Θέλει συντρίψει αναριθμήτους ισχυρούς και βάλει άλλους αντ' αυτών
He shall breake the mightie without seeking, and shall set vp other in their stead.
25 διότι γνωρίζει τα έργα αυτών, και ανατρέπει αυτούς την νύκτα, και συντρίβονται.
Therefore shall he declare their works: he shall turne the night, and they shalbe destroyed.
26 Κτυπά αυτούς ως ασεβείς εν τω τόπω των θεατών·
He striketh them as wicked men in the places of the seers,
27 επειδή εξέκλιναν απ' αυτού και δεν εθεώρησαν ουδεμίαν των οδών αυτού·
Because they haue turned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes:
28 και έκαμον να έλθη προς αυτόν η κραυγή των πτωχών, και ήκουσε την φωνήν των τεθλιμμένων.
So that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto him, and he hath heard the cry of the afflicted.
29 Και όταν αυτός δίδη ησυχίαν, τις θέλει διαταράξει αυτήν; και όταν κρύπτη το πρόσωπον αυτού, τις δύναται να ίδη αυτόν; είτε επί έθνος είτε επί άνθρωπον ομού·
And when he giueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who can beholde him, whether it be vpon nations, or vpon a man onely?
30 ώστε να μη βασιλεύη υποκριτής, διά να μη παγιδεύηται ο λαός.
Because the hypocrite doeth reigne, and because the people are snared.
31 Βεβαίως πρέπει να λέγη τις προς τον Θεόν, Έπαθον, δεν θέλω πλέον πράξει κακώς·
Surely it appertaineth vnto God to say, I haue pardoned, I will not destroy.
32 ό, τι δεν βλέπω, συ δίδαξόν με· εάν έπραξα ανομίαν, δεν θέλω πράξει πλέον.
But if I see not, teach thou me: if I haue done wickedly, I will doe no more.
33 Αλλά μήπως θέλει γείνει κατά τον στοχασμόν σου; είτε συ αποβάλης είτε εκλέξης, αυτός θέλει ανταποδώσει, και ουχί εγώ· λέγε λοιπόν ό, τι εξεύρεις.
Wil he performe the thing through thee? for thou hast reproued it, because that thou hast chosen, and not I. now speake what thou knowest.
34 Άνδρες συνετοί θέλουσιν ειπεί προς εμέ, και ο σοφός άνθρωπος όστις με ακούει,
Let men of vnderstanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken vnto me.
35 Ο Ιώβ δεν ελάλησεν εν γνώσει, και οι λόγοι αυτού δεν ήσαν μετά συνέσεως.
Iob hath not spoken of knowledge, neyther were his wordes according to wisedome.
36 Η επιθυμία μου είναι, ο Ιώβ να εξετασθή έως τέλους· επειδή απεκρίθη ως οι άνθρωποι οι ασεβείς.
I desire that Iob may be tryed, vnto the ende touching the answeres for wicked men.
37 Διότι εις την αμαρτίαν αυτού προσθέτει ασέβειαν· καυχάται μεταξύ ημών, και πολλαπλασιάζει τους λόγους αυτού εναντίον του Θεού.
For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne: he clappeth his handes among vs, and multiplieth his wordes against God.
