Ἰώβ 24
1 Επειδή οι καιροί δεν είναι κεκρυμμένοι από του Παντοδυνάμου, διά τι οι γνωρίζοντες αυτόν δεν βλέπουσι τας ημέρας αυτού;
Why are not times treasured up by the Almighty? And why do not they who know him see his days?
2 Μετακινούσιν όρια· αρπάζουσι ποίμνια και ποιμαίνουσιν·
They remove landmarks; They take away flocks by violence, and pasture them.
3 αφαιρούσι την όνον των ορφανών· λαμβάνουσι τον βουν της χήρας εις ενέχυρον·
They drive away the ass of the fatherless, And take the widow's ox for a pledge.
4 εξωθούσι τους ενδεείς από της οδού· οι πτωχοί της γης ομού κρύπτονται.
They push the needy from the way; All the poor of the land are forced to hide themselves.
5 Ιδού, ως άγριοι όνοι εν τη ερήμω, εξέρχονται εις τα έργα αυτών εγειρόμενοι πρωΐ διά αρπαγήν· η έρημος δίδει τροφήν δι' αυτούς και διά τα τέκνα αυτών.
Behold, like wild asses of the desert, they go forth to their work; They search for prey; The wilderness supplieth them food for their children.
6 Θερίζουσιν αγρόν μη όντα εαυτών, και τρυγώσιν άμπελον αδικίας.
In the fields they reap the harvest, And gather the vintage of the oppressor.
7 Κάμνουσι τους γυμνούς να νυκτερεύωσιν άνευ ιματίου, και δεν έχουσι σκέπασμα εις το ψύχος.
They lodge naked, without clothing, And without covering from the cold.
8 Υγραίνονται εκ των βροχών των ορέων και εναγκαλίζονται τον βράχον, μη έχοντες καταφύγιον.
They are drenched with the mountain showers, And embrace the rock for want of shelter.
9 Εκείνοι αρπάζουσι τον ορφανόν από του μαστού, και λαμβάνουσιν ενέχυρον παρά του πτωχού·
The fatherless are torn from the breast, And the garment of the needy is taken for a pledge.
10 κάμνουσιν αυτόν να υπάγη γυμνός άνευ ιματίου, και οι βαστάζοντες τα χειρόβολα μένουσι πεινώντες.
They go naked, without clothing, And carry the sheaf hungry.
11 Οι εκπιέζοντες το έλαιον εντός των τοίχων αυτών και πατούντες τους ληνούς αυτών, διψώσιν.
They make oil within their walls, And tread the wine-vat, yet suffer thirst.
12 Άνθρωποι στενάζουσιν εκ της πόλεως, και η ψυχή των πεπληγωμένων βοά· αλλ' ο Θεός δεν επιθέτει εις αυτούς αφροσύνην.
From anguish the dying groan, And the wounded cry aloud; And God regardeth not their prayer!
13 Ούτοι είναι εκ των ανθισταμένων εις το φώς· δεν γνωρίζουσι τας οδούς αυτού, και δεν μένουσιν εν ταις τρίβοις αυτού.
Others hate the light; They know not its ways, And abide not in its paths.
14 Ο φονεύς εγειρόμενος την αυγήν φονεύει τον πτωχόν και τον ενδεή, την δε νύκτα γίνεται ως κλέπτης.
With the light ariseth the murderer; He killeth the poor and needy; In the night he is as a thief.
15 Ο οφθαλμός ομοίως του μοιχού παραφυλάττει το νύκτωμα, λέγων, Οφθαλμός δεν θέλει με ιδεί· και καλύπτει το πρόσωπον αυτού.
The eye of the adulterer watcheth for the twilight; He saith, “No eye will see me,” And putteth a mask upon his face.
16 Εν τω σκότει διατρυπώσι τας οικίας, τας οποίας την ημέραν εσημείωσαν δι' εαυτούς. Δεν γνωρίζουσι φώς·
In the dark they break into houses; In the daytime they shut themselves up; They are strangers to the light.
17 διότι η αυγή είναι εις πάντας αυτούς σκιά θανάτου· εάν τις γνωρίση αυτούς, είναι τρόμοι σκιάς θανάτου.
The morning is to them the very shadow of death; They are familiar with the terrors of the shadow of death.
18 Είναι ελαφροί επί το πρόσωπον των υδάτων· η μερίς αυτών είναι κατηραμένη επί της γής· δεν βλέπουσι την οδόν των αμπέλων.
Light are they on the face of the waters; They have an accursed portion in the earth; They come not near the vineyards.
19 Η ξηρασία και η θερμότης αρπάζουσι τα ύδατα της χιόνος, ο δε τάφος τους αμαρτωλούς. (Sheol h7585)
As drought and heat consume the snow waters, So doth the grave the wicked. (Sheol h7585)
20 Η μήτρα θέλει λησμονήσει αυτούς· ο σκώληξ θέλει βόσκεσθαι επ' αυτούς· δεν θέλουσιν ελθεί πλέον εις ενθύμησιν· και η αδικία θέλει συντριφθή ως ξύλον.
His own mother forgetteth him; The worm feedeth sweetly on him; He is no more remembered, And iniquity is broken like a tree.
21 Κακοποιούσι την στείραν την άτεκνον· και δεν αγαθοποιούσι την χήραν·
He oppresseth the barren, that hath not borne, And doeth not good to the widow.
22 και κατακρατούσι τους δυνατούς διά της δυνάμεως αυτών· εγείρονται, και δεν είναι ουδείς ασφαλής εν τη ζωή αυτού.
He taketh away the mighty by his power; He riseth up, and no one is sure of life.
23 Έδωκε μεν ο Θεός εις αυτούς ασφάλειαν και αναπαύονται· όμως οι οφθαλμοί αυτού είναι επί τας οδούς αυτών.
God giveth them security, so that they are confident; His eyes are upon their ways.
24 Υψόνονται ολίγον καιρόν και δεν υπάρχουσι, και καταβάλλονται ως πάντες· σηκόνονται εκ του μέσου και αποκόπτονται ως η κεφαλή των ασταχύων·
They are exalted; —in a little while they are gone! They are brought low, and die, like all others; And like the topmost ears of corn are they cut off.
25 και εάν τώρα δεν ήναι ούτω, τις θέλει με διαψεύσει και εξουθενίσει τους λόγους μου;
If it be not so, who will confute me, And show my discourse to be worthless?
