Ἠσαΐας 41
1 Σιωπάτε ενώπιόν μου, νήσοι· οι λαοί ας ανανεώσωσι δύναμιν· και ας πλησιάσωσι και τότε ας λαλήσωσιν· ας προσέλθωμεν ομού εις κρίσιν.
Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
2 Τις ήγειρε τον δίκαιον από της ανατολής, προσεκάλεσεν αυτόν κατά πόδας αυτού, παρέδωκεν εις αυτόν τα έθνη και κατέστησεν αυτόν κύριον επί τους βασιλείς; τις παρέδωκεν αυτούς εις την μάχαιραν αυτού ως χώμα, και εις το τόξον αυτού ως άχυρον ωθούμενον από ανέμου;
Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
3 Κατεδίωξεν αυτούς και διήλθεν ασφαλώς διά της οδού, την οποίαν δεν είχε περιπατήσει με τους πόδας αυτού.
He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.
4 Τις ενήργησε και έκαμε τούτο, καλών τας γενεάς απ' αρχής; Εγώ ο Κύριος, ο πρώτος και ο μετά των εσχάτων· εγώ αυτός.
Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I YHWH, the first, and with the last; I am he.
5 Αι νήσοι είδον και εφοβήθησαν· τα πέρατα της γης ετρόμαξαν, επλησίασαν και ήλθον.
The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.
6 Εβοήθησαν έκαστος τον πλησίον αυτού· και είπε προς τον αδελφόν αυτού, Ίσχυε.
They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
7 Και ο ξυλουργός ενίσχυε τον χρυσοχόον και ο λεπτύνων με την σφύραν, τον σφυροκοπούντα επί τον άκμονα, λέγων, Καλόν είναι διά την συγκόλλησιν· και στερεόνει αυτό με καρφία, διά να μη κινήται.
So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
8 Αλλά συ, Ισραήλ, δούλέ μου, Ιακώβ, εκλεκτέ μου, το σπέρμα Αβραάμ του αγαπητού μου,
But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
9 συ, τον οποίον έλαβον εκ των άκρων της γης και σε εκάλεσα εκ των εσχάτων αυτής και σοι είπα, Συ είσαι ο δούλός μου· εγώ σε εξέλεξα και δεν θέλω σε απορρίψει·
Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
10 μη φοβού· διότι εγώ είμαι μετά σού· μη τρόμαζε· διότι εγώ είμαι ο Θεός σου· σε ενίσχυσα· μάλιστα σε εβοήθησα· μάλιστα σε υπερησπίσθην διά της δεξιάς της δικαιοσύνης μου.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy Elohim: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Ιδού, πάντες οι ωργισμένοι κατά σου θέλουσι καταισχυνθή και εντραπή· θέλουσιν είσθαι ως μηδέν· και οι αντίδικοί σου θέλουσιν αφανισθή.
Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12 Θέλεις ζητήσει αυτούς και δεν θέλεις ευρεί αυτούς, τους εναντιουμένους εις σέ· οι πολεμούντες κατά σου θέλουσι γείνει μηδέν και ως εξουθένημα.
Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13 Διότι εγώ Κύριος ο Θεός σου είμαι ο κρατών την δεξιάν σου, λέγων προς σε, Μη φοβού· εγώ θέλω σε βοηθήσει.
For I YHWH thy Elohim will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 Μη φοβού, σκώληξ Ιακώβ, θνητοί του Ισραήλ· εγώ θέλω σε βοηθεί, λέγει ο Κύριος· και λυτρωτής σου είναι ο Άγιος του Ισραήλ.
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith YHWH, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 Ιδού, εγώ θέλω σε κάμει νέον κοπτερόν αλωνιστήριον όργανον οδοντωτόν· θέλεις αλωνίσει τα όρη και λεπτύνει αυτά, και θέλεις κάμει τους λόφους ως λεπτόν άχυρον.
Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16 Θέλεις ανεμίσει αυτά και ο άνεμος θέλει σηκώσει αυτά και ο ανεμοστρόβιλος θέλει διασκορπίσει αυτά· συ δε θέλεις ευφρανθή εις τον Κύριον και θέλεις δοξασθή εν τω Αγίω του Ισραήλ.
Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in YHWH, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 Όταν οι πτωχοί και ενδεείς ζητήσωσιν ύδωρ και δεν υπάρχη, η γλώσσα δε αυτών ξηραίνηται υπό δίψης, εγώ ο Κύριος θέλω εισακούσει αυτούς, ο Θεός του Ισραήλ δεν θέλω εγκαταλείψει αυτούς.
When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I YHWH will hear them, I the Elohim of Israel will not forsake them.
18 Θέλω ανοίξει ποταμούς εν υψηλοίς τόποις και πηγάς εν μέσω των κοιλάδων· θέλω κάμει την έρημον λίμνας υδάτων και την ξηράν γην πηγάς υδάτων.
I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19 Εν τη ερήμω θέλω εμφυτεύσει την κέδρον, το δένδρον της σίττης και τον μύρτον και την ελαίαν· εν τη ακατοικήτω γη θέλω βάλει την έλατον, την πεύκην και τον πύξον ομού·
I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20 διά να ίδωσι και να γνωρίσωσι και να στοχασθώσι και να εννοήσωσιν ομού, ότι η χειρ του Κυρίου έκαμε τούτο και ο Άγιος του Ισραήλ εδημιούργησεν αυτό.
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of YHWH hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
21 Παραστήσατε την δίκην σας, λέγει Κύριος· προφέρετε τα ισχυρά σας επιχειρήματα, λέγει ο βασιλεύς του Ιακώβ.
Produce your cause, saith YHWH; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
22 Ας πλησιάσωσι και ας δείξωσιν εις ημάς τι θέλει συμβή· ας αναγγείλωσι τα πρότερα, τι ήσαν, διά να στοχασθώμεν αυτά και να γνωρίσωμεν τα έσχατα αυτών· ή ας αναγγείλωσι προς ημάς τα μέλλοντα.
Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
23 Αναγγείλατε τα συμβησόμενα εις το μετέπειτα, διά να γνωρίσωμεν ότι είσθε θεοί· κάμετε έτι καλόν ή κάμετε κακόν, διά να θαυμάσωμεν και να ίδωμεν ομού.
Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are elohim: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
24 Ιδού, σεις είσθε ολιγώτερον παρά το μηδέν, και το έργον σας χειρότερον παρά το μηδέν· όστις σας εκλέγει, είναι βδέλυγμα.
Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.
25 Ήγειρα ένα εκ βορρά και θέλει έλθει· απ' ανατολών ηλίου θέλει επικαλείσθαι το όνομά μου· και θέλει πατήσει επί τους ηγεμόνας ως επί πηλόν και ως ο κεραμεύς καταπατεί τον άργιλον.
I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
26 Τις ανήγγειλε ταύτα απ' αρχής, διά να γνωρίσωμεν; και προ του καιρού, διά να είπωμεν, αυτός είναι ο δίκαιος; Αλλ' ουδείς ο αναγγέλλων· αλλ' ουδείς ο διακηρύττων· αλλ' ουδείς ο ακούων τους λόγους σας.
Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
27 Εγώ ο πρώτος θέλω ειπεί προς την Σιών, Ιδού, ιδού, ταύτα· και θέλω δώσει εις την Ιερουσαλήμ τον ευαγγελιζόμενον.
The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.
28 Διότι εθεώρησα και δεν ήτο ουδείς, ναι, μεταξύ αυτών, αλλά δεν υπήρχε σύμβουλος δυνάμενος να αποκριθή λόγον, ότε ηρώτησα αυτούς.
For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counseller, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
29 Ιδού, πάντες είναι ματαιότης, τα έργα αυτών μηδέν· τα χωνευτά αυτών άνεμος και ματαιότης.
Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.
