Ἠσαΐας 32
1 Ιδού, βασιλεύς θέλει βασιλεύσει εν δικαιοσύνη, και άρχοντες θέλουσιν άρχει εν κρίσει.
Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in justice.
2 Και ο άνθρωπος θέλει είσθαι ως σκέπη από του ανέμου και ως καταφύγιον από της τρικυμίας· ως ποταμοί ύδατος εν ξηρά γη, ως σκιά μεγάλου βράχου εν γη διψώση.
And every one shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivulets of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a large rock in a languishing land.
3 Και οι οφθαλμοί των βλεπόντων δεν θέλουσιν είσθαι εσκοτισμένοι, και τα ώτα των ακουόντων θέλουσιν είσθαι προσεκτικά.
And the eyes of those that see shall not be blinded again, and the ears of those that hear shall hearken.
4 Και η καρδία των θρασέων θέλει καταλάβει σοφίαν, και η γλώσσα των τραυλιζόντων θέλει επιταχύνει να λαλή καθαρά.
The heart also of the rash shall be attentive in order to know, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
5 Ο αχρείος δεν θέλει ονομάζεσθαι πλέον ελευθέριος, και ο φιλάργυρος δεν θέλει λέγεσθαι μεγαλοπρεπής.
The worthless person shall be no more called liberal, and the avaricious man shall not be said to be bountiful.
6 Διότι ο αχρείος θέλει λαλεί αχρεία, και η καρδία αυτού θέλει εργάζεσθαι ανομίαν, διά να εκτελή πονηρίαν και να προφέρη πλάνην εναντίον του Κυρίου, ώστε να στερή την ψυχήν του πεινώντος και να εμποδίζη την πόσιν εις τον διψώντα.
For the worthless person ever speaketh villany, and his heart will work injustice, to practise hypocrisy, and to speak error against the Lord, to leave empty the soul of the hungry, and the drink of the thirsty will he take away.
7 Του δε φιλαργύρου τα όπλα είναι άδικα· αυτός βουλεύεται πονηρίας διά να αφανίση τον πτωχόν με λόγους ψευδείς, έτι και όταν ο ενδεής λαλή δίκαια.
The instruments also of the avaricious man are evil: he deviseth wicked resolves to destroy the poor with words of falsehood, even when the needy speaketh what is right.
8 Αλλ' ο ελευθέριος βουλεύεται ελευθέρια και επί ελευθέρια θέλει στηρίζεσθαι αυτός.
But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and he ever persisteth by liberal things.
9 Σηκώθητε, γυναίκες εύποροι· ακούσατε την φωνήν μου, θυγατέρες αμέριμνοι· ακροάσθητε τους λόγους μου·
Ye careless women rise up, hear my voice; ye daughters that are secure, give ear unto my speech.
10 ημέρας και έτη θέλετε είσθαι τεταραγμέναι, σεις αι αμέριμνοι· διότι ο τρυγητός θέλει χαθή, η συγκομιδή δεν θέλει ελθεί·
After days and years shall ye shudder, ye women that are secure; for ended is the vintage, the fruit gathering shall nowise come.
11 τρέμετε, αι εύποροι· ταράχθητε, αι αμέριμνοι· ενδύθητε και γυμνώθητε και περιζώσατε τας οσφύας με σάκκον.
Tremble, ye careless women; shudder, ye that are secure, strip off your garments and make yourselves bare, and gird [sackcloth] upon the loins.
12 Θέλουσι κτυπήσει τα στήθη διά τους ηδονικούς αγρούς, διά τους καρποφόρους αμπελώνας.
[They shall strike] on the breast, lamenting, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
13 Άκανθαι και τρίβολοι θέλουσι βλαστήσει επί την γην του λαού μου· έτι και επί πάσας τας οικίας της χαράς εν τη ευφραινομένη πόλει.
Upon the soil of my people thorns and briers shall come up; yea, upon all the houses of joy of the gladsome town.
14 Διότι τα παλάτια θέλουσιν εγκαταλειφθή· το πλήθος της πόλεως θέλει ερημωθή· τα φρούρια και οι πύργοι θέλουσι κατασταθή έως αιώνος σπήλαια, τρυφή αγρίων όνων, βοσκή ποιμνίων·
Because the palace is abandoned, the tumult of the city is forsaken; the hill and watch-tower are become dens for a long time, a joyous haunt for wild asses, a pasture for flocks.
15 εωσού το πνεύμα εξ ύψους εκχυθή εφ' ημάς και η έρημος γείνη πεδιάς καρποφόρος, η δε καρποφόρος πεδιάς λογισθή ως δάσος.
Until a spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be changed into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be accounted as a forest.
16 Τότε κρίσις θέλει κατασκηνώσει εν τη ερήμω και δικαιοσύνη θέλει κατοικήσει εν τη καρποφόρω πεδιάδι.
Then shall justice dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.
17 Το δε έργον της δικαιοσύνης θέλει είσθαι ειρήνη· και το αποτέλεσμα της δικαιοσύνης ησυχία και ασφάλεια εις τον αιώνα.
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and security for ever.
18 Και ο λαός μου θέλει κατοικεί ειρηνικήν κατοικίαν και οικήματα ασφαλή και ησύχους τόπους ευπορίας,
And then shall my people abide in peaceful dwellings, and secure abodes, and in undisturbed resting-places.
19 και θέλει πίπτει χάλαζα κατασυντρίβουσα το δάσος, και η πόλις με όλεθρον θέλει ανατραπή.
And it shall spread itself out in the declivity of the forest; and far down in the lowlands shall the city descend.
20 Μακάριοι σεις οι σπείροντες πλησίον παντός ύδατος, οι εξαποστέλλοντες εκεί τους πόδας του βοός και της όνου.
Happy are ye that sow beside all waters, freely sending forth the feet of the ox and the ass.
