Ἠσαΐας 27
1 Εν εκείνη τη ημέρα θέλει παιδεύσει ο Κύριος, διά της μαχαίρας αυτού της σκληράς και μεγάλης και δυνατής, τον Λευϊάθαν, τον λοξοβάτην όφιν, ναι, τον Λευϊάθαν, τον σκολιόν όφιν· και θέλει αποκτείνει τον δράκοντα τον εν τη θαλάσση.
In that day the Lord with his hard, and great, and strong sword shall visit leviathan the bar serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent, and shall slay the whale that is in the see.
2 Εν εκείνη τη ημέρα ψάλλετε προς αυτήν, Άμπελος αγαπητή·
In that day there shall be singing to the vineyard of pure wine.
3 εγώ ο Κύριος θέλω φυλάττει αυτήν· κατά πάσαν στιγμήν θέλω ποτίζει αυτήν· διά να μη βλάψη αυτήν μηδείς, νύκτα και ημέραν θέλω φυλάττει αυτήν·
I am the Lord that keep it, I will suddenly give it drink: lest any hurt come to it, I keep it night and day.
4 οργή δεν είναι εν εμοί· τις ήθελεν αντιτάξει εναντίον μου τριβόλους και ακάνθας εν τη μάχη; ήθελον περάσει διά μέσου αυτών, ήθελον κατακαύσει ταύτα ομού·
There is no indignation in me: who shall make me a thorn and a brier in battle: shall march against it, shall I set it on fire together?
5 ή ας πιασθή από της δυνάμεώς μου, διά να κάμη ειρήνην μετ' εμού· και θέλει κάμει μετ' εμού ειρήνην.
Or rather shall it take hold of my strength, shall it make peace with me, shall it make peace with me?
6 Εις το ερχόμενον θέλει ριζώσει τον Ιακώβ· ο Ισραήλ θέλει ανθήσει και βλαστήσει και γεμίσει το πρόσωπον της οικουμένης από καρπών.
When they shall rush in unto Jacob, Israel shall blossom and bud, and they shall fill the face of the world with seed.
7 Μήπως επάταξεν αυτόν, καθώς επάταξε τους πατάξαντας αυτόν; ή εθανατώθη κατά τον θάνατον των θανατωθέντων υπ' αυτού;
Hath he struck him according to the stroke of him that struck him? or is he slain, as he killed them that were slain by him?
8 Με μέτρον θέλεις διαμαχήσει μετ' αυτής, όταν αποβάλης αυτήν· συμμετρεί τον σφοδρόν αυτού άνεμον εν τη ημέρα του ανατολικού ανέμου.
In measure against measure, when it shall be cast off, thou shalt judge it. He hath meditated with his severe spirit in the day of heat.
9 Όθεν με τούτο θέλει καθαρισθή η ανομία του Ιακώβ· και τούτο θέλει είσθαι άπας ο καρπός, να εξαλειφθή η αμαρτία αυτού, όταν κατασυντρίψη πάντας τους λίθους των βωμών ως λεπτόν κονιορτόν ασβέστου, και τα άλση και τα είδωλα δεν μένωσι πλέον όρθια.
Therefore upon this shall the iniquity of the house of Jacob be forgiven: and this is all the fruit, that the sin thereof should be taken away, when he shall have made all the stones of the altar, as burnt stones broken in pieces, the groves and temples shall not stand.
10 Διότι η ωχυρωμένη πόλις θέλει ερημωθή, η κατοικία θέλει παραιτηθή και εγκαταλειφθή ως έρημος· εκεί θέλει βοσκηθή το μοσχάριον και εκεί θέλει αναπαυθή και καταφάγει τους κλάδους αυτής.
For the strong city shall be desolate, the beautiful city shall be forsaken, and shall be left as a wilderness: there the calf shall feed, and there shall he lie down, and shall consume its branches.
11 Όταν οι κλάδοι αυτής ξηρανθώσι, θέλουσιν αποκοπή· αι γυναίκες θέλουσιν ελθεί και κατακαύσει αυτούς· διότι είναι λαός ασύνετος· όθεν ο ποιήσας αυτόν δεν θέλει οικτείρει αυτόν και ο πλάσας αυτόν δεν θέλει ελεήσει αυτόν.
Its harvest shall be destroyed with drought, women shall come and teach it: for it is not a wise people, therefore he that made it, shall not have mercy on it: and he that formed it, shall not spare it.
12 Και εν εκείνη τη ημέρα ο Κύριος θέλει εκτινάξει από της διώρυγος του ποταμού έως του ρεύματος της Αιγύπτου, και σεις θέλετε συναχθή καθ' ένα έκαστος, σεις υιοί Ισραήλ.
And it shall come to pass, that in that day the Lord will strike from the channel of the river even to the torrent of Egypt, and you shall be gathered together one by one, O ye children of Israel.
13 Και εν εκείνη τη ημέρα θέλει σαλπιγχθή μεγάλη σάλπιγξ, και θέλουσιν ελθεί οι καταφθειρόμενοι εν τη γη της Ασσυρίας και οι αποδεδιωγμένοι εν τη γη της Αιγύπτου, και θέλουσι λατρεύσει τον Κύριον επί του όρους του αγίου εν Ιερουσαλήμ.
And it shall come to pass, that in that day a noise shall be made with a great trumpet, and they that were lost, shall come from the land of the Assyrians, and they that were outcasts in the land of Egypt, and they shall adore the Lord in the holy mount in Jerusalem.
