Ἠσαΐας 14
1 Διότι ο Κύριος θέλει ελεήσει τον Ιακώβ, και θέλει έτι εκλέξει τον Ισραήλ και καταστήσει αυτούς εν τη γη αυτών· και οι ξένοι θέλουσιν ενωθή μετ' αυτών και θέλουσι προσκολληθή εις τον οίκον του Ιακώβ.
And the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and they shall rest on their land: and the stranger shall be added to them, yea, shall be added to the house of Jacob.
2 Και οι λαοί θέλουσι λάβει αυτούς και φέρει αυτούς εις τον τόπον αυτών· και ο οίκος του Ισραήλ θέλει κληρονομήσει αυτούς εν τη γη του Κυρίου διά δούλους και δούλας· και θέλουσιν είσθαι αιχμάλωτοι αυτών οι αιχμαλωτίσαντες αυτούς, και θέλουσι γείνει κύριοι των καταθλιβόντων αυτούς.
And the Gentiles shall take them, and bring them into their place: and they shall inherit them, and they shall be multiplied upon the land for servants and handmaidens: and they that took them captives shall become captives [to them]; and they that had lordship over them shall be under [their] rule.
3 Και καθ' ην ημέραν ο Κύριος θέλει σε αναπαύσει από της θλίψεώς σου και από του φόβου σου και από της σκληράς δουλείας, εις την οποίαν ήσο καταδεδουλωμένος,
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and vexation, [and from] thy hard servitude wherein thou didst serve them.
4 θέλεις μεταχειρισθή την παροιμίαν ταύτην κατά του βασιλέως της Βαβυλώνος, λέγων, Πως επαύθη ο καταδυνάστης· πως επαύθη η φορολόγος του χρυσίου.
And thou shalt take up this lamentation against the king of Babylon, How has the extortioner ceased, and the taskmaster ceased!
5 Ο Κύριος συνέτριψε την ράβδον των ασεβών, το σκήπτρον των δυναστών.
The Lord has broken the yoke of sinners, the yoke of princes.
6 Ο πατάσσων εν θυμώ τον λαόν με ακατάπαυστον κτύπημα, ο δεσπόζων εν οργή επί τα έθνη, καταδιώκεται, και ουδείς ο κωλύων.
Having smitten a nation in wrath, with an incurable plague, smiting a nation with a wrathful plague, which spared [them] not, he rested in quiet.
7 Πάσα η γη αναπαύεται, ησυχάζει· εκφωνούσιν άσματα αγαλλιάσεως.
All the earth cries aloud with joy:
8 Χαίρουσιν επί σε και αι έλατοι, αι κέδροι του Λιβάνου, λέγουσαι, Αφού συ εκοιμήθης, δενδροτόμος δεν ανέβη εφ' ημάς.
the trees also of Libanus rejoice against thee, and the cedar of Libanus, [saying], From the time that thou hast been laid low, no one has come up to cut us down.
9 Ο άδης κάτωθεν εκινήθη διά σε, διά να απαντήση την έλευσίν σου· διά σε εξήγειρε τους νεκρούς, πάντας τους ηγεμόνας της γής· εσήκωσεν εκ των θρόνων αυτών πάντας τους βασιλείς των εθνών. (Sheol h7585)
Hell from beneath is provoked to meet thee: all the great ones that have ruled over the earth have risen up together against thee, they that have raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
10 Πάντες ούτοι θέλουσιν αποκριθή και ειπεί προς σε, Και συ έγεινες αδύνατος, καθώς ημείς; κατεστάθης όμοιος ημών;
All shall answer and say to thee, Thou also hast been taken, even as we; and thou art numbered amongst us.
11 Η μεγαλαυχία σου κατηνέχθη εις τον τάφον και ο θόρυβος των μουσικών σου οργάνων· ο σκώληξ είναι εστρωμένος υποκάτω σου και οι σκώληκες σε σκεπάζουσι· (Sheol h7585)
Thy glory has come down to Hades, and thy great mirth: under thee they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be thy covering. (Sheol h7585)
12 πως έπεσες εκ του ουρανού, Εωσφόρε, υιέ της αυγής· συνετρίφθης κατά γης, συ ο καταπατών τα έθνη.
How has Lucifer, that rose in the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent [orders] to all the nations is crushed to the earth.
13 Συ δε έλεγες εν τη καρδία σου, Θέλω αναβή εις τον ουρανόν, θέλω υψώσει τον θρόνον μου υπεράνω των άστρων του Θεού· και θέλω καθήσει επί το όρος της συνάξεως, προς τα μέρη του βορρά·
But thou saidst in thine heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven: I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains toward the north:
14 θέλω αναβή επί τα ύψη των νεφελών· θέλω είσθαι όμοιος του Υψίστου.
I will go up above the clouds: I will be like the Most High.
But now thou shalt go down to hell, even to the foundations of the earth. (Sheol h7585)
16 Οι βλέποντές σε θέλουσιν ενατενίσει προς σε, θέλουσι σε παρατηρεί, λέγοντες, ούτος είναι ο άνθρωπος ο ποιών την γην να τρέμη, ο σείων τα βασίλεια;
They that see thee shall wonder at thee, and say, This is the man that troubled the earth, that made kings to shake;
17 Ο ερημόνων την οικουμένην και καταστρέφων τας πόλεις αυτής; ο μη απολύων εις τας οικίας αυτών τους δεσμίους αυτού;
that made the whole world desolate, and destroyed its cities; he loosed not those who were in captivity.
18 Πάντες οι βασιλείς των εθνών, πάντες αναπαύονται εν δόξη, έκαστος εν τη οικία αυτού·
All the kings of the nations lie in honour, [every] man in his house.
19 συ δε απερρίφθης του τάφου σου ως κλάδος βδελυκτός, ιμάτιον κεκεντημένων, πεφονευμένων εν μαχαίρα, καταβαινόντων εις τας πέτρας του λάκκου· ως πτώμα καταπατούμενον.
But thou shalt be cast forth on the mountains, as a loathed carcase, with many dead who have been pierced with swords, going down to the grave.
20 Δεν θέλεις ενωθή μετ' αυτών εις ενταφιασμόν, διότι ηφάνισας την γην σου, εφόνευσας τον λαόν σου· το σπέρμα των κακοποιών ουδέποτε θέλει ονομασθή.
As a garment defiled with blood shall not be pure, so neither shalt thou be pure; because thou hast destroyed my land, and hast slain my people: thou shalt not endure for ever, —[thou] an evil seed.
21 Ετοιμάσατε σφαγήν εις τα τέκνα αυτού διά την ανομίαν των πατέρων αυτών, διά να μη σηκωθώσι και κληρονομήσωσι την γην, και γεμίσωσι το πρόσωπον της οικουμένης από πόλεων.
Prepare thy children to be slain for the sins of their father; that they arise not, and inherit the earth, nor fill the earth with wars.
22 Διότι θέλω σηκωθή εναντίον αυτών, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· και θέλω εξαλείψει από της Βαβυλώνος το όνομα και το υπόλοιπον και υιόν και έκγονον, λέγει Κύριος.
And I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will destroy their name, and remnant, and seed: thus saith the Lord.
23 Και θέλω καταστήσει αυτήν κληρονομίαν εχίνων και λίμνας υδάτων· και θέλω σαρώσει αυτήν με το σάρωθρον της απωλείας, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
And I will make the region of Babylon desert, so that hedgehogs shall dwell [there], and it shall come to nothing: and I will make it a pit of clay for destruction.
24 Ώμοσεν ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, λέγων, Εξάπαντος καθώς εβουλεύθην, ούτω θέλει γείνει· και καθώς απεφάσισα, ούτω θέλει μείνει,
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, As I have said, so it shall be: and as I have purposed, so [the matter] shall remain:
25 να συντρίψω τον Ασσύριον εν τη γη μου και να καταπατήσω αυτόν επί των ορέων μου· τότε ο ζυγός αυτού θέλει σηκωθή απ' αυτών και το φορτίον αυτού θέλει αφαιρεθή από των ώμων αυτών.
[even] to destroy the Assyrians upon my land, and upon my mountains: and they shall be for trampling; and their yoke shall be taken away from them, and their glory shall be taken away from their shoulders.
26 Αύτη είναι η βουλή η βεβουλευμένη καθ' όλης της γής· και αύτη η χειρ η εξηπλωμένη επί πάντα τα έθνη.
This is the purpose which the Lord has purposed upon the whole earth: and this the hand that is uplifted against all the nations.
27 Διότι ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων απεφάσισε και τις θέλει αναιρέσει; και η χειρ αυτού εξηπλώθη και τις θέλει αποστρέψει αυτήν;
For what the Holy God has purposed, who shall frustrate? and who shall turn back his uplifted hand?
28 Εν τω έτει, καθ' ο απέθανεν ο βασιλεύς Άχαζ, έγεινεν αύτη η όρασις.
In the year in which king Achaz died this word came.
29 Μη χαίρε, Παλαιστίνη πάσα, διότι συνετρίφθη η ράβδος του πατάξαντός σε· επειδή εκ της ρίζης του όφεως θέλει εξέλθει βασιλίσκος, και ο καρπός αυτού θέλει είσθαι φλογερός πετώμενος όφις.
Rejoice not, all ye Philistines, because the yoke of him that smote you is broken: for out of the seed of the serpent shall come forth the young asps, and their young shall come forth flying serpents,
30 Και οι πρωτότοκοι του πτωχού θέλουσι τραφή και οι ενδεείς θέλουσιν αναπαύεσθαι εν ασφαλεία· και θέλω θανατώσει την ρίζαν σου με πείναν, και θέλω φονεύσει το υπόλοιπόν σου.
And the poor shall be fed by him, and poor men shall rest in peace: but he shall destroy thy seed with hunger, and shall destroy thy remnant.
31 Ολόλυζε, πύλη· βόα, πόλις· εχάθης, Παλαιστίνη πάσα· διότι έρχεται καπνός από βορρά, και ουδέ εις θέλει λείψει από της εκστρατεύσεως αυτού εν τοις ωρισμένοις καιροίς.
Howl, ye gates of cities; let the cities be troubled and cry, [even] all the Philistines: for smoke is coming from the north, and there is no [possibility] of living.
32 Και τις απόκρισις θέλει δοθή εις τους πρέσβεις των εθνών; Ότι ο Κύριος εθεμελίωσε την Σιών, και επ' αυτήν θέλουσιν ελπίζει οι πτωχοί του λαού αυτού.
And what shall the kings of the nations answer? That the Lord has founded Sion, and by him the poor of the people shall be saved.
