Ὡσηέʹ 13
1 Ότε ο Εφραΐμ ελάλει εν τρόμω, αυτός υψώθη εν τω Ισραήλ· ότε δε ημάρτησε περί του Βάαλ, τότε ετελεύτησε.
When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he became guilty through Baal, he died.
2 Και τώρα αμαρτάνουσιν επί μάλλον και μάλλον και έκαμον εις εαυτούς χωνευτά εκ του αργυρίου αυτών, είδωλα κατά την φαντασίαν αυτών, πάντα ταύτα έργον τεχνιτών· αυτοί λέγουσι περί αυτών, οι άνθρωποι οι θυσιάζοντες ας φιλήσωσι τους μόσχους.
And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, according to their own understanding, even idols, all of them the work of the craftsmen; of them they say: 'They that sacrifice men kiss calves.'
3 Διά τούτο θέλουσιν είσθαι ως νεφέλη πρωϊνή και ως δρόσος εωθινή διαβαίνουσα, ως λεπτόν άχυρον εκφυσώμενον εκ του αλωνίου και ως καπνός εκ της καπνοδόχου.
Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the dew that early passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the wind out of the threshing-floor, and as the smoke out of the window.
4 Αλλ' εγώ είμαι Κύριος ο Θεός σου εκ γης Αιγύπτου· και άλλον θεόν πλην εμού δεν θέλεις γνωρίσει· διότι δεν υπάρχει άλλος σωτήρ εκτός εμού.
Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt; and thou knowest no God but Me, and beside Me there is no saviour.
5 Εγώ σε εγνώρισα εν τη ερήμω, εν γη ανύδρω.
I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6 Κατά τας βοσκάς αυτών, ούτως εχορτάσθησαν· εχορτάσθησαν, και υψώθη η καρδία αυτών· διά τούτο με ελησμόνησαν.
When they were fed, they became full, they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.
7 Όθεν θέλω είσθαι εις αυτούς ως λέων· ως πάρδαλις εν οδώ θέλω παραμονεύει αυτούς.
Therefore am I become unto them as a lion; as a leopard will I watch by the way;
8 Θέλω απαντήσει αυτούς ως άρκτος στερηθείσα των τέκνων αυτής, και θέλω διασπαράξει το περίφραγμα της καρδίας αυτών και καταφάγει αυτούς εκεί ως λέων· θηρίον άγριον θέλει διασπαράξει αυτούς.
I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the enclosure of their heart; and there will I devour them like a lioness; the wild beast shall tear them.
9 Απωλέσθης, Ισραήλ· πλην εν εμοί είναι η βοήθειά σου.
It is thy destruction, O Israel, that thou art against Me, against thy help.
10 Που είναι ο βασιλεύς σου; που; ας σε σώση τώρα εν πάσαις σου ταις πόλεσι· και που οι κριταί σου, περί των οποίων είπας, Δος μοι βασιλέα και άρχοντας;
Ho, now, thy king, that he may save thee in all thy cities! and thy judges, of whom thou saidst: 'Give me a king and princes!'
11 Σοι έδωκα βασιλέα εν τω θυμώ μου και αφήρεσα αυτόν εν τη οργή μου.
I give thee a king in Mine anger, and take him away in My wrath.
12 Η ανομία του Εφραΐμ είναι περιδεδεμένη· η αμαρτία αυτού αποτεταμιευμένη.
The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is laid up in store.
13 Πόνοι τικτούσης θέλουσιν ελθεί επ' αυτόν· είναι υιός ασύνετος· διότι δεν είναι καιρός να στέκηται εν τω ανοίγματι της μήτρας.
The throes of a travailing woman shall come upon him; he is an unwise son; for it is time he should not tarry in the place of the breaking forth of children.
14 Εκ χειρός άδου θέλω ελευθερώσει αυτούς, εκ θανάτου θέλω σώσει αυτούς. Που είναι, θάνατε, ο όλεθρός σου; που, άδη, η φθορά σου; η μεταμέλεια θέλει κρύπτεσθαι από των οφθαλμών μου. (Sheol h7585)
Shall I ransom them from the power of the nether-world? Shall I redeem them from death? Ho, thy plagues, O death! Ho, thy destruction, O nether-world! Repentance be hid from Mine eyes! (Sheol h7585)
15 Αν και ούτος εστάθη καρποφόρος μεταξύ των αδελφών αυτού, ανατολικός άνεμος όμως θέλει ελθεί, ο άνεμος του Κυρίου θέλει αναβή από της ερήμου, και αι βρύσεις αυτού θέλουσιν εκλείψει και θέλει καταξηρανθή η πηγή αυτού· ούτος θέλει αφαρπάσει τον θησαυρόν πάντων των επιθυμητών αυτού σκευών.
For though he be fruitful among the reed-plants, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD coming up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up; he shall spoil the treasure of all precious vessels.
16 Η Σαμάρεια θέλει αφανισθή, διότι απεστάτησε κατά του Θεού αυτής· θέλουσι πέσει εν ρομφαία· τα θηλάζοντα νήπια αυτών θέλουσι συντριφθή, και αι εγκυμονούσαι αυτών θέλουσι διασχισθή.
Samaria shall bear her guilt, for she hath rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
