Ἰεζεκιήλ 21

1 Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ, λέγων,

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

2 Υιέ ανθρώπου, στήριξον το πρόσωπόν σου προς Ιερουσαλήμ και στάλαξον λόγον προς τους αγίους τόπους και προφήτευσον κατά της γης Ισραήλ

'Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

3 και ειπέ προς την γην Ισραήλ, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Ιδού, εγώ είμαι εναντίον σου και θέλω σύρει την μάχαιράν μου εκ της θήκης αυτής και θέλω εκκόψει από σου τον δίκαιον και τον ασεβή.

and say to the land of Israel: Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth My sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

4 Και επειδή θέλω εκκόψει από σου τον δίκαιον και τον ασεβή, διά τούτο θέλει εξέλθει η μάχαιρά μου εκ της θήκης αυτής εναντίον πάσης σαρκός, από μεσημβρίας μέχρι βορρά·

Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall My sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north;

5 και θέλουσι γνωρίσει πάσα σαρξ ότι εγώ ο Κύριος έσυρα την μάχαιράν μου εκ της θήκης αυτής· δεν θέλει επιστρέψει πλέον.

and all flesh shall know that I the LORD have drawn forth My sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.

6 Διά τούτο συ, υιέ ανθρώπου, στέναξον μετά συντριμμού της οσφύος σου, και μετά πικρίας στέναξον ενώπιον αυτών.

Sigh therefore, thou son of man; with the breaking of thy loins and with bitterness shalt thou sigh before their eyes.

7 Και όταν είπωσι προς σε, διά τι στενάζεις συ; θέλεις αποκριθή· διά την αγγελίαν, ότι έρχεται· και πάσα καρδία θέλει λυώσει, και πάσαι αι χείρες θέλουσι παραλυθή, και παν πνεύμα θέλει λιποθυμήσει, και πάντα τα γόνατα θέλουσι ρεύσει ως ύδωρ· ιδού, έρχεται και θέλει γείνει, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός.

And it shall be, when they say unto thee: Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say: Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be slack, and every spirit shall be faint, and all knees shall drip with water; behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.'

8 Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ, λέγων,

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

9 Υιέ ανθρώπου, προφήτευσον και ειπέ, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Ειπέ, Ρομφαία, ρομφαία ακονίζεται και μάλιστα στιλβούται·

'Son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus saith the LORD: Say: A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished:

10 ακονίζεται, διά να κάμη σφαγήν· στιλβούται, διά να αστράπτη. Δυνάμεθα λοιπόν να ήμεθα εύθυμοι; αύτη είναι η ράβδος του υιού μου, η καταφρονούσα παν ξύλον.

It is sharpened that it may make a sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter — or shall we make mirth? — against the rod of My son, contemning every tree.

11 Και έδωκεν αυτήν να στιλβωθή, διά να κρατήται εν τη χειρί· η ρομφαία αύτη είναι ηκονισμένη και εστιλβωμένη, διά να δοθή εις την χείρα του σφαγέως.

And it is given to be furbished, that it may be handled; the sword, it is sharpened, yea, it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

12 Βόησον και ολόλυξον, υιέ ανθρώπου· διότι αύτη είναι εναντίον του λαού μου, είναι εναντίον πάντων των αρχόντων του Ισραήλ·. τρόμος θέλει επιπέσει επί τον λαόν μου διά την ρομφαίαν· διά τούτο κτύπησον επί τον μηρόν σου.

Cry and wail, son of man; for it is upon My people, it is upon all the princes of Israel; they are thrust down to the sword with My people; smite therefore upon thy thigh.

13 Διότι εξέτασις είναι· και τι; βεβαίως και η καταφρονούσα ράβδος δεν θέλει υπάρχει, λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός.

For there is a trial; and what if it contemn even the rod? It shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.

14 Διά τούτο συ, υιέ ανθρώπου, προφήτευσον και κρότησον χείρα επί χείρα και ας διπλασιασθή η ρομφαία, ας τριπλασιασθή, η ρομφαία των τετραυματισμένων· αύτη είναι η ρομφαία των μεγάλων τραυματιών, ήτις θέλει διαπεράσει έως των ενδομύχων αυτών.

Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of those to be slain; it is the sword of the great one that is to be slain, which compasseth them about.

15 Επέφερα την κοπήν της ρομφαίας επί πάσας τας πύλας αυτών, διά να λυώση πάσα καρδία και να πληθυνθή ο όλεθρος. Ουαί· ητοιμάσθη διά να εξαστράπτη, ηκονίσθη διά σφαγήν.

I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied; ah! it is made glittering, it is sharpened for slaughter.

16 Συσφίγχθητι, ρομφαία, επιτέθητι δεξιά, αριστερά, όπου στραφή το πρόσωπόν σου.

Go thee one way to the right, or direct thyself to the left; whither is thy face set?

17 Και εγώ έτι θέλω κροτήσει χείρα μου επί χείρα μου και θέλω αναπαύσει τον θυμόν μου· εγώ ο Κύριος ελάλησα.

I will also smite My hands together, and I will satisfy My fury; I the LORD have spoken it.'

18 Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ, λέγων,

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

19 Και συ, υιέ ανθρώπου, διόρισον εις σεαυτόν δύο οδούς, διά να διέλθη η ρομφαία του βασιλέως της Βαβυλώνος, και αμφότεραι θέλουσιν εξέρχεσθαι από της αυτής γής· και κάμε τόπον, κάμε αυτόν εν τη αρχή της οδού της πόλεως.

'Now, thou son of man, make thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they twain shall come forth out of one land; and mark a signpost, mark it clear at the head of the way to the city.

20 Διόρισον οδόν διά να διέλθη η ρομφαία εις την Ραββά των υιών Αμμών και εις την Ιουδαίαν προς την Ιερουσαλήμ την ωχυρωμένην.

Thou shalt make a way, that the sword may come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.

21 Διότι ο βασιλεύς της Βαβυλώνος εστάθη εις τον διαχωρισμόν, εν τη αρχή των δύο οδών, διά να ερωτήση τους μάντεις· ανεκάτωσε τα μαντικά βέλη, ηρώτησε τα γλυπτά, παρετήρησε το ήπαρ.

For the king of Babylon standeth at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination; he shaketh the arrows to and fro, he inquireth of the teraphim, he looketh in the liver.

22 Προς την δεξιάν αυτού έγεινεν ο χρησμός διά την Ιερουσαλήμ, διά να στήση τους κριούς, διά να ανοίξη το στόμα επί σφαγήν, να υψώση την φωνήν μετά αλαλαγμού, να στήση κριούς εναντίον των πυλών, να κάμη προχώματα, να οικοδομήση προμαχώνας.

In his right hand is the lot Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth for the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts.

23 Πλην τούτο θέλει είσθαι εις αυτούς ως μαντεία ματαία, εις τους οφθαλμούς εκείνων, οίτινες έκαμον όρκους προς αυτούς· αυτός όμως θέλει ενθυμίσει αυτούς την ανομίαν αυτών, διά να πιασθώσι.

And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, who have weeks upon weeks! but it bringeth iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken.

24 Διά τούτο ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός. Επειδή εκάμετε να έλθη εις ενθύμησιν η ανομία σας, ότε ανεκαλύφθησαν αι παραβάσεις σας, ώστε να φανερωθώσι τα αμαρτήματά σας εις πάσας τας πράξεις σας· επειδή ήλθετε εις ενθύμησιν, θέλετε γείνει χειριάλωτοι.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that your sins do appear in all your doings; because that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

25 Και συ, βέβηλε ασεβή, ηγεμών του Ισραήλ, του οποίου ήλθεν η ημέρα, ότε η ανομία έφθασεν εις πέρας,

And thou, O wicked one, that art to be slain, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end;

26 ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός· Σήκωσον το διάδημα και αφαίρεσον το στέμμα· αυτό δεν θέλει είσθαι τοιούτον· ο ταπεινός θέλει υψωθή και ο υψηλός θέλει ταπεινωθή.

thus saith the Lord GOD: The mitre shall be removed, and the crown taken off; this shall be no more the same: that which is low shall be exalted, and that which is high abased.

27 Θέλω ανατρέψει, ανατρέψει, ανατρέψει αυτό, και δεν θέλει υπάρχει εωσού έλθη εκείνος, εις ον ανήκει· και εις τούτον θέλω δώσει αυτό.

A ruin, a ruin, a ruin, will I make it; this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is, and I will give it him.

28 Και συ, υιέ ανθρώπου, προφήτευσον και ειπέ, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός περί των υιών Αμμών και περί του ονειδισμού αυτών, και ειπέ, Η ρομφαία, η ρομφαία είναι γεγυμνωμένη, διά την σφαγήν εστιλβωμένη, διά να εξολοθρεύση εξαστράπτουσα,

And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their taunt; and say thou: O sword, O sword keen-edged, furbished for the slaughter, to the uttermost, because of the glitterings;

29 ενώ βλέπουσι ματαίας οράσεις περί σου, ενώ μαντεύουσι ψεύδος εις σε, διά να σε βάλωσιν επί τον τράχηλον των τετραυματισμένων, των ασεβών, των οποίων η ημέρα ήλθεν, ότε η ανομία αυτών έφθασεν εις πέρας.

While they see falsehood unto thee, while they divine lies unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are to be slain, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end!

30 Επίστρεψον αυτήν εις την θήκην αυτής. Εν τω τόπω όπου εκτίσθης, εν τη γη της γεννήσεώς σου, θέλω σε κρίνει.

Cause it to return into its sheath! — In the place where thou wast created, in the land of thine origin, will I judge thee.

31 Και θέλω εκχέει την οργήν μου επί σε εν τω πυρί της οργής μου θέλω εμφυσήσει επί σέ· και θέλω σε παραδώσει εις χείρας ανδρών αγρίων, τεκταινόντων όλεθρον.

And I will pour out My indignation upon thee, I will blow upon thee with the fire of My wrath; and I will deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.

32 Τροφή πυρός θέλεις γείνει· το αίμα σου θέλει είσθαι εν τω μέσω της γης σου· δεν θέλει είσθαι πλέον μνήμη περί σού· διότι εγώ ο Κύριος ελάλησα.

Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land, thou shalt be no more remembered; for I the LORD have spoken it.'
