Ἔξοδος 19
1 Εις τον τρίτον μήνα της εξόδου των υιών Ισραήλ εκ της Αιγύπτου, την ημέραν ταύτην ήλθον εις την έρημον Σινά.
In the third month, after the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 Εσηκώθησαν δε από Ραφιδείν και ήλθον εις την έρημον Σινά και εστρατοπέδευσαν εν τη ερήμω· και εκεί κατεσκήνωσεν ο Ισραήλ απέναντι του όρους.
For they had departed from Rephidim, and they came to the desert of Sinai, and encamped in the wilderness; and Israel encamped there opposite the mount.
3 Ο δε Μωϋσής ανέβη προς τον Θεόν· και εκάλεσεν αυτόν ο Κύριος εκ του όρους, λέγων, Ούτω θέλεις ειπεί προς τον οίκον Ιακώβ, και αναγγείλει προς τους υιούς Ισραήλ.
And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord called unto him from the mount, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel.
4 Σεις είδετε όσα έκαμα εις τους Αιγυπτίους, και σας εσήκωσα ως επί πτερύγων αετού και σας έφερα προς εμαυτόν·
Ye have yourselves seen what I have done unto the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
5 τώρα λοιπόν εάν τωόντι υπακούσητε εις την φωνήν μου, και φυλάξητε την διαθήκην μου, θέλετε είσθαι εις εμέ ο εκλεκτός από πάντων των λαών· διότι ιδική μου είναι πάσα η γή·
Now therefore, if you will truly obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then shall ye be unto me a peculiar treasure above all nations; for all the earth is mine:
6 και σεις θέλετε είσθαι εις εμέ βασίλειον ιεράτευμα και έθνος άγιον. Ούτοι είναι οι λόγοι, τους οποίους θέλεις ειπεί προς τους υιούς Ισραήλ.
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation; these are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
7 Και ήλθεν ο Μωϋσής και εκάλεσε τους πρεσβυτέρους του λαού και έθεσεν έμπροσθεν αυτών πάντας εκείνους τους λόγους, τους οποίους προσέταξεν εις αυτόν ο Κύριος.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him.
8 Και απεκρίθη ομοφώνως πας ο λαός, λέγων, Πάντα όσα είπεν ο Κύριος θέλομεν πράξει. Και ανέφερεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κύριον τους λόγους του λαού.
And all the people answered unanimously, and said, all that the Lord hath spoken will we do; and Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord.
9 Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Ιδού, εγώ έρχομαι προς σε εν νεφέλη πυκνή, διά να ακούση ο λαός όταν λαλήσω προς σε, και έτι να πιστεύη εις σε πάντοτε. Ανήγγειλε δε ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κύριον τους λόγους του λαού.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, I will come unto thee in a thick cloud, for the sake that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and that also in thee they shall believe for ever; and Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord.
10 Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Ύπαγε προς τον λαόν και αγίασον αυτούς σήμερον και αύριον, και ας πλύνωσι τα ιμάτια αυτών·
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.
11 και ας ήναι έτοιμοι εις την ημέραν την τρίτην· διότι εν τη ημέρα τη τρίτη θέλει καταβή ο Κύριος επί το όρος Σινά ενώπιον παντός του λαού·
And they shall be ready against the third day; for on the third day will the Lord come down, before the eyes of all the people, upon mount Sinai.
12 και θέλεις βάλει εις τον λαόν όρια κυκλόθεν, λέγων, Προσέχετε εις εαυτούς μη αναβήτε εις το όρος ή εγγίσητε εις τα άκρα αυτού· όστις εγγίση το όρος, θέλει εξάπαντος θανατωθή·
And thou shalt set bounds unto the people, round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, nor touch the border of it; whosoever toucheth the mount shall surely be put to death.
13 δεν θέλει εγγίσει εις αυτόν χειρ, διότι με λίθους θέλει λιθοβοληθή ή με βέλη θέλει κατατοξευθή· είτε ζώον είναι είτε άνθρωπος, δεν θέλει ζήσει. Όταν η σάλπιγξ ηχήση, τότε θέλουσιν αναβή επί το όρος.
Yet not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live; when the trumpet soundeth long, they may come up to the mount.
14 Και κατέβη ο Μωϋσής από του όρους προς τον λαόν και ηγίασε τον λαόν· και έπλυναν τα ιμάτια αυτών.
And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people: and they washed their clothes.
15 Και είπε προς τον λαόν, Γίνεσθε έτοιμοι διά την ημέραν την τρίτην· μη πλησιάσητε εις γυναίκα.
And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day; approach not unto a woman.
16 Και εν τη ημέρα τη τρίτη το πρωΐ έγειναν βρονταί και αστραπαί, και νεφέλη πυκνή ήτο επί του όρους, και φωνή σάλπιγγος δυνατή σφόδρα· και έτρεμε πας ο λαός ο εν τω στρατοπέδω.
And it came to pass on the third day when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a heavy cloud was upon the mount, and the voice of the cornet was exceedingly loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled.
17 Τότε εξήγαγεν ο Μωϋσής τον λαόν εκ του στρατοπέδου εις την συνάντησιν του Θεού· και εστάθησαν υπό το όρος.
And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they placed themselves at the foot of the mount.
18 Το δε όρος Σινά ήτο όλον καπνός, διότι κατέβη ο Κύριος εν πυρί επ' αυτό· ανέβαινε δε ο καπνός αυτού ως καπνός καμίνου και όλον το όρος εσείετο σφόδρα.
And mount Sinai smoked in every part, because the Lord had descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
19 Και ότε η φωνή της σάλπιγγος προέβαινεν αυξανομένη σφόδρα, ο Μωϋσής ελάλει και ο Θεός απεκρίνετο προς αυτόν μετά φωνής.
And the voice of the cornet went on, and waxed louder and louder; Moses spoke, and God answered him with a loud voice.
20 Και κατέβη ο Κύριος επί το όρος Σινά, επί την κορυφήν του όρους· και εκάλεσε Κύριος τον Μωϋσήν επί την κορυφήν του όρους, και ανέβη ο Μωϋσής.
And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount; and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount, and Moses went up.
21 Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Καταβάς, διαμαρτυρήθητι προς τον λαόν, μήποτε υπερβώσι τα όρια και αναβώσι προς τον Κύριον διά να περιεργασθώσι και πέσωσι πολλοί εξ αυτών·
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the Lord to gaze, and many of them might perish.
22 και οι ιερείς δε οι πλησιάζοντες προς τον Κύριον ας αγιασθώσι, διά να μη εξορμήση ο Κύριος επ' αυτούς.
And the priests also, who come near to the Lord, shall sanctify themselves; lest the Lord break forth among them.
23 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κύριον, Ο λαός δεν δύναται να αναβή εις το όρος Σινά· διότι συ προσέταξας εις ημάς, λέγων, Βάλε όρια κυκλόθεν του όρους και αγίασον αυτό.
And Moses said unto the Lord, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou hast charged us, saying, Set bounds about the mount and sanctify it.
24 Και είπε Κύριος προς αυτόν, Ύπαγε, κατάβα· έπειτα θέλεις αναβή, συ και ο Ααρών μετά σού· οι ιερείς όμως και ο λαός ας μη υπερβώσι τα όρια διά να αναβώσι προς τον Κύριον, διά να μη εξορμήση επ' αυτούς.
And the Lord said unto him, Go, get thee down, and then shalt thou come up, thou, and Aaron with thee; but the priests and the people shall not break through to come up unto the Lord, lest he break forth among them.
25 Και κατέβη ο Μωϋσής προς τον λαόν και ώμίλησε προς αυτούς.
So Moses went down unto the people, and spoke unto them.
