Ἔξοδος 13

1 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, λέγων,

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 Καθιέρωσον εις εμέ παν πρωτότοκον διανοίγον πάσαν μήτραν μεταξύ των υιών Ισραήλ, από ανθρώπου έως κτήνους· ιδικόν μου είναι τούτο.

Sanctify unto me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

3 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον λαόν, Έχετε εις την μνήμην σας την ημέραν ταύτην, καθ' ην εξήλθετε εξ Αιγύπτου εξ οίκου δουλείας· διότι ο Κύριος διά χειρός κραταιάς εξήγαγεν υμάς εκείθεν· ουδείς θέλει φάγει ένζυμα.

And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, on which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of slavery; for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from here: and no leavened bread shall be eaten.

4 Σήμερον εξέρχεσθε κατά τον μήνα Αβίβ.

This day go ye out, in the month of Abib.

5 Όταν λοιπόν ο Κύριος σε φέρη εις την γην των Χαναναίων και των Χετταίων και των Αμορραίων και των Ευαίων και των Ιεβουσαίων, την οποίαν ώμοσε προς τους πατέρας σου ότι θέλει σοι δώσει, γην ρέουσαν γάλα και μέλι, τότε θέλεις κάμει την λατρείαν ταύτην κατά τούτον τον μήνα.

And it shall be, when the Lord doth bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Emorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he hath sworn unto thy fathers to give unto thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt perform this service in this month.

6 Επτά ημέρας θέλεις τρώγει άζυμα· εις δε την εβδόμην ημέραν θέλει είσθαι εορτή εις τον Κύριον.

Seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day shall be a feast to the Lord.

7 Άζυμα θέλουσι τρώγεσθαι τας επτά ημέρας· και δεν θέλει φανή παρά σοι ένζυμον ουδέ θέλει φανή παρά σοι προζύμιον καθ' όλα τα όριά σου.

Unleavened bread shall be eaten these seven days; and there shall not be seen with thee any leavened bread, neither shall there be seen with thee any leaven in all thy boundaries.

8 Και κατ' εκείνην την ημέραν θέλεις αναγγείλει προς τον υιόν σου, λέγων, Τούτο γίνεται δι' εκείνο, το οποίον ο Κύριος έκαμεν εις εμέ, ότε εξήλθον εξ Αιγύπτου.

And thou shalt tell thy son on that day, saying, This is done for the sake of that which the Lord did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

9 Και τούτο θέλει είσθαι εις σε διά σημείον επί της χειρός σου και διά ενθύμησιν μεταξύ των οφθαλμών σου, διά να ήναι ο νόμος του Κυρίου εν τω στόματί σου· διότι διά χειρός κραταιάς σε εξήγαγεν ο Κύριος εξ Αιγύπτου.

And it shall be unto thee for a sign upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thy eyes, in order that the law of the Lord may be in thy mouth; for with a strong hand hath the Lord brought thee forth out of Egypt.

10 Θέλεις φυλάττει λοιπόν τον νόμον τούτον εν τω καιρώ αυτού κατ' έτος.

And thou shalt keep this ordinance in its season, from year to year.

11 Και όταν ο Κύριος σε φέρη εις την γην των Χαναναίων, καθώς ώμοσε προς σε και προς τους πατέρας σου, και δώση αυτήν εις σε,

And it shall be, when the Lord doth bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he hath sworn unto thee and to thy fathers, and giveth it to thee,

12 τότε θέλεις αποχωρίσει διά τον Κύριον παν το ανοίγον μήτραν και παν πρωτότοκον των ζώων σου όσα έχεις· τα αρσενικά θέλουσιν είσθαι του Κυρίου.

That thou shalt set apart all that openeth the womb unto the Lord; and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou shalt have, the males, shall belong to the Lord.

13 Και παν πρωτότοκον όνου θέλεις εξαγοράζει με αρνίον· και αν δεν εξαγοράσης αυτό, τότε θέλεις λαιμοτομήσει αυτό· και παν πρωτότοκον ανθρώπου μεταξύ των υιών σου θέλεις εξαγοράζει.

And every firstling of an ass shalt thou redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then shalt thou break its neck: and all the first-born of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

14 Και όταν εις το μέλλον σε ερωτήση ο υιός σου, λέγων, Τι είναι τούτο; θέλεις ειπεί προς αυτόν, Διά κραταιάς χειρός εξήγαγεν ημάς ο Κύριος εξ Αιγύπτου, εξ οίκου δουλείας·

And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

15 και ότε ο Φαραώ επέμεινεν εις το να μη μας εξαποστείλη, ο Κύριος εθανάτωσε παν πρωτότοκον εν τη γη της Αιγύπτου, από πρωτοτόκου ανθρώπου έως πρωτοτόκου κτήνους· διά τούτο θυσιάζω εις τον Κύριον παν αρσενικόν το οποίον ανοίγει την μήτραν, και παν πρωτότοκον των υιών μου εξαγοράζω.

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh obstinately refused to let us go, that the Lord slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast; therefore do I sacrifice to the Lord all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my children must I redeem.

16 Και τούτο θέλει είσθαι διά σημείον επί της χειρός σου και διά προμετωπίδιον μεταξύ των οφθαλμών σου· επειδή διά κραταιάς χειρός εξήγαγεν ημάς ο Κύριος εξ Αιγύπτου.

And it shall be for a sign upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thy eyes; that by strength of hand the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt.

17 Ότε δε ο Φαραώ εξαπέστειλε τον λαόν, ο Θεός δεν ώδήγησεν αυτούς διά της οδού της γης των Φιλισταίων, αν και ήτο η συντομωτέρα· διότι ο Θεός είπε, Μήποτε ο λαός ιδών πόλεμον μεταμεληθή, και επιστρέψη εις Αίγυπτον.

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh let the people go, that God did not lead them the way through the land of the Philistines, because it was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and return to Egypt.

18 Αλλ' ο Θεός περιέφερε τον λαόν διά της οδού της ερήμου προς την Ερυθράν θάλασσαν· και ανέβησαν οι υιοί Ισραήλ εκ της γης Αιγύπτου παρατεταγμένοι.

But God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.

19 Και έλαβε μεθ' εαυτού ο Μωϋσής τα οστά του Ιωσήφ· διότι είχεν ορκίσει μεθ' όρκου τους υιούς Ισραήλ, λέγων· Ο Θεός βεβαίως θέλει σας επισκεφθή· και θέλετε αναβιβάσει τα οστά μου εντεύθεν μεθ' υμών.

And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him; for he had caused the children of Israel to swear, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall then carry up my bones away hence with you.

20 Και αναχωρήσαντες από Σοκχώθ, εστρατοπέδευσαν εν Εθάμ κατά τα άκρα της ερήμου.

And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, at the edge of the wilderness.

21 Ο δε Κύριος προεπορεύετο αυτών, την ημέραν εν στύλω νεφέλης, διά να οδηγή αυτούς εν τη οδώ, την δε νύκτα εν στύλω πυρός, διά να φέγγη εις αυτούς· ώστε να οδοιπορώσιν ημέραν και νύκτα·

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give light to them; that they might go by day and by night:

22 δεν απεμάκρυνεν από της όψεως του λαού τον στύλον της νεφέλης την ημέραν, ούτε τον στύλον του πυρός την νύκτα.

He took not away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
