Ἐσθήρ 8
1 Εν τη ημέρα εκείνη ο βασιλεύς Ασσουήρης έδωκεν εις την Εσθήρ την βασίλισσαν τον οίκον του Αμάν, του εχθρού των Ιουδαίων. Και ήλθεν ο Μαροδοχαίος ενώπιον του βασιλέως· διότι η Εσθήρ εφανέρωσε τι ήτο αυτής.
On the day that he gave the king Ahasuerus to Esther the queen [the] house of Haman [the] opposer (of the Jews *Q(k)*) and Mordecai he came before the king for she had told Esther what? [was] he to her.
2 Και εκβαλών ο βασιλεύς το δακτυλίδιον αυτού, το οποίον αφήρεσεν από του Αμάν, έδωκεν αυτό εις τον Μαροδοχαίον. Και κατέστησεν η Εσθήρ τον Μαροδοχαίον επί τον οίκον του Αμάν.
And he removed the king signet-ring his which he had taken away from Haman and he gave it to Mordecai and she appointed Esther Mordecai over [the] house of Haman.
3 Και ελάλησε πάλιν η Εσθήρ ενώπιον του βασιλέως, και προσέπεσεν εις τους πόδας αυτού και ικέτευσεν αυτόν μετά δακρύων να ακυρώση την κακίαν του Αμάν του Αγαγίτου, και την σκευωρίαν αυτού την οποίαν εσκευώρησε κατά των Ιουδαίων.
And she repeated Esther and she spoke before the king and she fell before feet his and she wept and she sought favor to him to take away [the] evil of Haman the Agagite and plan his which he had planned on the Jews.
4 Και εξέτεινεν ο βασιλεύς το χρυσούν σκήπτρον προς την Εσθήρ. Τότε σηκωθείσα η Εσθήρ εστάθη ενώπιον του βασιλέως,
And he extended the king to Esther [the] scepter of gold and she arose Esther and she stood before the king.
5 και είπεν, Εάν ήναι αρεστόν εις τον βασιλέα, και εάν εύρηκα χάριν ενώπιον αυτού, και το πράγμα φαίνηται ορθόν εις τον βασιλέα και αρέσκηται εις εμέ, ας γραφή να ανακαλεσθώσι τα γράμματα τα σκευωρηθέντα υπό του Αμάν του υιού Αμμεδαθά του Αγαγίτου, τα οποία έγραψε διά να απολεσθώσιν οι Ιουδαίοι οι εν πάσαις ταις επαρχίαις του βασιλέως·
And she said if [is] on the king good and if I have found favor before him and it is proper the matter before the king and [am] good I in view his let it be written to revoke the letters [the] plan of Haman [the] son of Hammedatha the Agagite which he wrote to destroy the Jews who [are] in all [the] provinces of the king.
6 διότι πως δύναμαι να υποφέρω να ίδω το κακόν, το οποίον θέλει ευρεί τον λαόν μου; ή πως δύναμαι να υποφέρω να ίδω τον αφανισμόν της συγγενείας μου;
For how? will I be able and I will look on the evil which it will find people my and how? will I be able and I will look on [the] destruction of kindred my.
7 Τότε είπεν ο βασιλεύς Ασσουήρης προς Εσθήρ την βασίλισσαν και προς τον Μαροδοχαίον τον Ιουδαίον, Ιδού, έδωκα εις την Εσθήρ τον οίκον του Αμάν και αυτόν εκρέμασαν επί του ξύλου, διότι εξήπλωσε την χείρα αυτού κατά των Ιουδαίων·
And he said the king Ahasuerus to Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew here! [the] house of Haman I have given to Esther and him they have hanged on the gallows on that he stretched out hand his (on the Jews. *Q(k)*)
8 σεις λοιπόν γράψατε υπέρ των Ιουδαίων, όπως φαίνεται εις εσάς καλόν, εν ονόματι του βασιλέως, και σφραγίσατε με το βασιλικόν δακτυλίδιον· διότι το γράμμα το γεγραμμένον εν ονόματι του βασιλέως και εσφραγισμένον με το βασιλικόν δακτυλίδιον, είναι αμετάτρεπτον.
And you write on the Jews according to the good in view your in [the] name of the king and seal [it] with [the] signet-ring of the king for a writing which [is] written in [the] name of the king and it is sealed with [the] signet-ring of the king not to revoke.
9 Και προσεκλήθησαν οι γραμματείς του βασιλέως εν τω καιρώ εκείνω εν τω τρίτω μηνί, ούτος είναι ο μην Σιβάν, την εικοστήν τρίτην αυτού· και εγράφη κατά πάντα όσα ο Μαροδοχαίος προσέταξε, προς τους Ιουδαίους και προς τους σατράπας και διοικητάς και άρχοντας των επαρχιών των από Ινδίας έως Αιθιοπίας, εκατόν εικοσιεπτά επαρχιών, εις πάσαν επαρχίαν κατά το γράφειν αυτής και προς πάντα λαόν κατά την γλώσσαν αυτού και προς τους Ιουδαίους κατά το γράφειν αυτών και κατά την γλώσσαν αυτών.
And they were summoned [the] scribes of the king at the time that in the month third that [is] [the] month of Sivan on [day] three and twenty in it and it was written according to all that he commanded Mordecai to the Jews and to the satraps and the governors and [the] officials of the provinces which - [were] from India and to Cush seven and twenty and a hundred province[s] province and province according to writing its and people and people according to language its and to the Jews according to writing their and according to language their.
10 Και έγραψεν εν ονόματι του βασιλέως Ασσουήρου και εσφράγισεν αυτό με το βασιλικόν δακτυλίδιον και εξαπέστειλε τα γράμματα διά ταχυδρόμων εφίππων, ιππαζόντων επί ταχυπόδων και γενναίων ημιόνων·
And he wrote in [the] name of the king Ahasuerus and he sealed [it] with [the] signet-ring of the king and he sent letters by [the] hand of couriers on horses [the] riders of the steed[s] royal [the] sons of the mares.
11 δι' ων επέτρεπεν ο βασιλεύς εις τους Ιουδαίους τους κατά πάσαν πόλιν, να συναχθώσι και να σταθώσιν υπέρ της ζωής αυτών, να απολέσωσι, να φονεύσωσι και να αφανίσωσι πάσαν την δύναμιν του λαού και της επαρχίας των καταθλιβόντων αυτούς, παιδία και γυναίκας, και τα λάφυρα αυτών να διαρπάσωσιν,
That he had permitted the king to the Jews - who [were] in every city and city to assemble and to make a stand on life their to annihilate and to kill and to destroy every army of people and province which attacks them little one[s] and women and spoil their to take as plunder.
12 εν μιά ημέρα, κατά πάσας τας επαρχίας του βασιλέως Ασσουήρου, τη δεκάτη τρίτη του δωδεκάτου μηνός, ούτος είναι ο μην Αδάρ.
On a day one in all [the] provinces of the king Ahasuerus on [day] thir-teen of month two [plus] ten that [is] [the] month of Adar.
13 Το αντίγραφον της επιστολής, το προς διάδοσιν του προστάγματος κατά πάσαν επαρχίαν, εδημοσιεύθη προς πάντας τους λαούς, διά να ήναι οι Ιουδαίοι έτοιμοι κατ' εκείνην την ημέραν να εκδικηθώσιν εναντίον των εχθρών αυτών.
copy of The writing [was] to be given law in every province and province being disclosed to all the peoples and to be (the Jews *Q(k)*) (ready *Q(K)*) for the day this to avenge themselves from enemies their.
14 Και εξήλθον οι ταχυδρόμοι, ιππάζοντες επί ταχυπόδων ημιόνων, σπεύδοντες και κατεπειγόμενοι υπό της προσταγής του βασιλέως. Και η διαταγή εξεδόθη εν Σούσοις τη βασιλευούση.
The couriers [the] riders of the steed[s] royal they went out hastened and hurried at [the] word of the king and the law it was given in Susa the citadel.
15 Ο δε Μαροδοχαίος εξήλθεν απ' έμπροσθεν του βασιλέως εν στολή βασιλική κυανή και λευκή και φορών μέγαν στέφανον χρυσούν και επένδυμα βύσσινον και πορφυρούν· και η πόλις Σούσα έχαιρε και ευφραίνετο.
And Mordecai he went out - from to before the king in clothing of royalty of violet and white cloth and a crown of gold great and a robe of fine linen and purple and the city of Susa it shouted for joy and it rejoiced.
16 Εις τους Ιουδαίους ήτο φως και αγαλλίασις και χαρά και δόξα.
To the Jews it belonged light and gladness and joy and honor.
17 Και εν πάση επαρχία και εν πάση πόλει, όπου ήλθε του βασιλέως το πρόσταγμα και η διαταγή, έγεινεν εις τους Ιουδαίους χαρά και αγαλλίασις, ευωχία και ημέρα αγαθή. Και πολλοί εκ των λαών της γης έγειναν Ιουδαίοι διότι ο φόβος των Ιουδαίων επέπεσεν επ' αυτούς.
And in every province and province and in every city and city [the] place where [the] word of the king and law his [was] reaching gladness and joy [belonged] to the Jews a feast and a day good and many of [the] peoples of the land [were] becoming Jews for it had fallen dread of the Jews on them.
