Δευτερονόμιον 18
1 Οι ιερείς οι Λευΐται, πάσα η φυλή του Λευΐ, δεν θέλουσιν έχει μερίδα ούτε κληρονομίαν μετά του Ισραήλ· τας διά πυρός γινομένας προσφοράς του Κυρίου και την κληρονομίαν αυτού θέλουσι τρώγει.
The priests, the Levites, [and] the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: Jehovah's offerings by fire, and his inheritance shall they eat,
2 Διά τούτο κληρονομίαν δεν θέλουσιν έχει μεταξύ των αδελφών αυτών· ο Κύριος είναι η κληρονομία αυτών, καθώς είπε προς αυτούς.
but they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah, he is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
3 Και τούτο θέλει είσθαι το δικαίωμα των ιερέων παρά του λαού, παρά των θυσιαζόντων τας θυσίας, είτε βουν είτε πρόβατον· θέλουσι δίδει εις τον ιερέα τον ώμον και τας σιαγόνας και την κοιλίαν.
And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that sacrifice a sacrifice, whether ox, or sheep: they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the jawbones, and the maw.
4 Τας απαρχάς του σίτου σου, του οίνου σου και του ελαίου σου, και το πρώτον του μαλλίου των προβάτων σου, θέλεις δίδει εις αυτόν.
The firstfruits [also] of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstfruits of the shearing of thy sheep, shalt thou give him;
5 διότι αυτόν εξέλεξε Κύριος ο Θεός σου εκ πασών των φυλών σου, διά να παρίσταται να λειτουργή εις το όνομα του Κυρίου, αυτός και οι υιοί αυτού διαπαντός.
for Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, that he may stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, he and his sons continually.
6 Και εάν έλθη Λευΐτης εκ τινός των πόλεών σου από παντός του Ισραήλ, όπου παροικεί, και έλθη μεθ' όλου του πόθου της ψυχής αυτού, εις τον τόπον όντινα εκλέξη ο Κύριος,
And if the Levite shall come from one of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and shall come according to all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah will choose,
7 τότε θέλει λειτουργεί εις το όνομα Κυρίου του Θεού αυτού, καθώς πάντες οι αδελφοί αυτού οι Λευΐται, οι παριστάμενοι εκεί ενώπιον του Κυρίου.
and shall serve in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites that stand there before Jehovah,
8 Ίσας μερίδας θέλουσι τρώγει εκτός του προερχομένου εκ της πωλήσεως της πατρικής αυτού περιουσίας.
— they shall have like portions to eat, besides that which he hath sold of his patrimony.
9 Αφού εισέλθης εις την γην, την οποίαν Κύριος ο Θεός σου δίδει εις σε, δεν θέλεις μάθει να πράττης κατά τα βδελύγματα των εθνών εκείνων.
When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.
10 Δεν θέλει ευρεθή εις σε ουδείς διαπερνών τον υιόν αυτού ή την θυγατέρα αυτού διά του πυρός, ή μαντευόμενος μαντείαν ή προγνώστης των καιρών ή οιωνοσκόπος ή μάγος,
There shall not be found among you he that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, that useth divination, that useth auguries, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
11 ή γόης ή ανταποκριτής δαιμονίων ή τερατοσκόπος ή νεκρόμαντις.
or a charmer, or one that inquireth of a spirit of Python, or a soothsayer, or one that consulteth the dead.
12 Διότι πας ο πράττων ταύτα είναι βδέλυγμα εις τον Κύριον· και εξ αιτίας των βδελυγμάτων τούτων Κύριος ο Θεός σου εκδιώκει αυτούς απ' έμπροσθέν σου.
For every one that doeth these things is an abomination to Jehovah, and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth dispossess them from before thee.
13 Τέλειος θέλεις είσθαι ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού σου.
Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.
14 Διότι τα έθνη ταύτα, τα οποία θέλεις κατακληρονομήσει, έδωκαν ακρόασιν εις προγνώστας των καιρών και εις μάντεις· σε όμως Κύριος ο Θεός σου δεν αφήκε να πράττης ούτω.
For these nations, which thou shalt dispossess, hearkened unto those that use auguries, and that use divination; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee [to do] so.
15 Προφήτην εκ μέσου σου θέλει αναστήσει εις σε Κύριος ο Θεός σου εκ των αδελφών σου, ως εμέ· αυτού θέλετε ακούει·
Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him shall ye hearken;
16 κατά πάντα όσα εζήτησας παρά Κυρίου του Θεού σου εν Χωρήβ εν τη ημέρα της συνάξεως, λέγων, Ας μη ακούσω πλέον την φωνήν Κυρίου του Θεού μου, μηδέ να ίδω πλέον το μέγα τούτο πυρ, διά να μη αποθάνω.
according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 Και είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Καλώς έχουσιν όσα ελάλησαν.
And Jehovah said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
18 Προφήτην εκ μέσου των αδελφών αυτών θέλω αναστήσει εις αυτούς, ως σε, και θέλω βάλει τους λόγους μου εις το στόμα αυτού, και θέλει λαλεί προς αυτούς πάντα όσα εγώ προστάζω εις αυτόν·
A prophet will I raise up unto them from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 Και ο άνθρωπος όστις δεν υπακούση εις τους λόγους μου, τους οποίους αυτός θέλει λαλήσει εν τω ονόματί μου, εγώ θέλω εκζητήσει τούτο παρ' αυτού.
And it shall come to pass that the man who hearkeneth not unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 Ο προφήτης όμως όστις ασεβήση και λαλήση εν τω ονόματί μου λόγον τον οποίον εγώ δεν προσέταξα εις αυτόν να λαλήση, ή όστις λαλήση εν τω ονόματι άλλων θεών, ο προφήτης εκείνος θέλει θανατωθή.
But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.
21 Και εάν είπης εν τη καρδία σου, Πως θέλομεν γνωρίσει τον λόγον, τον οποίον ο Κύριος δεν ελάλησεν;
And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word that Jehovah hath not spoken?
22 Όταν τις προφήτης λαλήση εν τω ονόματι του Κυρίου και ο λόγος δεν γείνη ουδέ συμβή, ούτος είναι ο λόγος τον οποίον ο Κύριος δεν ελάλησεν· ελάλησεν αυτόν ο προφήτης εν υπερηφανία· δεν θέλετε φοβηθή απ' αυτού.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing followeth not, nor cometh to pass, that is the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: be not afraid of him.
