Βασιλειῶν Αʹ 28
1 Κατ' εκείνας δε τας ημέρας συνήθροισαν οι Φιλισταίοι τα στρατεύματα αυτών προς εκστρατείαν, διά να πολεμήσωσι μετά του Ισραήλ. Και είπεν ο Αγχούς προς τον Δαβίδ, Έξευρε μετά βεβαιότητος ότι θέλεις εξέλθει μετ' εμού εις τον πόλεμον, συ και οι άνδρες σου.
And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.
2 Και είπεν ο Δαβίδ προς τον Αγχούς, Θέλεις βεβαίως γνωρίσει τι θέλει κάμει ο δούλός σου. Και είπεν ο Αγχούς προς τον Δαβίδ, Διά τούτο θέλω σε κάμει αρχισωματοφύλακά μου διαπαντός.
And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of my head for ever.
3 Απέθανε δε ο Σαμουήλ, και πας ο Ισραήλ εθρήνησεν αυτόν και ενεταφίασεν αυτόν εν Ραμά τη πόλει αυτού. Και εξέβαλεν ο Σαούλ εκ του τόπου τους έχοντας πνεύμα μαντείας και τους μάγους.
Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that were mediums, and the wizards, out of the land.
4 Συνηθροίσθησαν λοιπόν οι Φιλισταίοι και ήλθον και εστρατοπέδευσαν εν Σουνήμ· και συνήθροισεν ο Σαούλ πάντα τον Ισραήλ, και εστρατοπέδευσαν εν Γελβουέ.
And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and encamped in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped in Gilboa.
5 Και ότε είδεν ο Σαούλ το στρατόπεδον των Φιλισταίων, εφοβήθη, και ετρόμαξεν η καρδία αυτού σφόδρα.
And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
6 Και ηρώτησεν ο Σαούλ τον Κύριον· αλλ' ο Κύριος δεν απεκρίθη προς αυτόν ούτε δι' ενυπνίων ούτε διά του Ουρίμ ούτε διά προφητών.
And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
7 Τότε είπεν ο Σαούλ προς τους δούλους αυτού, Ζητήσατέ μοι γυναίκα έχουσαν πνεύμα μαντείας, διά να υπάγω προς αυτήν και να ερωτήσω αυτήν. Και οι δούλοι αυτού είπον προς αυτόν, Ιδού, είναι εν Εν-δωρ γυνή τις έχουσα πνεύμα μαντείας.
Then said Saul to his servants, Seek me a woman that is a medium, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a medium at Endor.
8 Και μετεσχηματίσθη ο Σαούλ και ενεδύθη άλλα ιμάτια, και υπήγεν αυτός και δύο άνδρες μετ' αυτού και ήλθον προς την γυναίκα διά νυκτός· και είπε, Μάντευσον, παρακαλώ, εις εμέ διά του πνεύματος της μαντείας και αναβίβασόν μοι όντινα σοι είπω.
And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine to me as a medium, and bring up for me, whom I shall name to thee.
9 Και είπεν η γυνή προς αυτόν, Ιδού, συ εξεύρεις όσα έκαμεν ο Σαούλ, τίνι τρόπω εξωλόθρευσε τους έχοντας πνεύμα μαντείας και τους μάγους εκ του τόπου· διά τι λοιπόν συ παγιδεύεις την ζωήν μου, διά να με θανατώσωσι;
And the woman said to him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that are mediums, and the wizards, out of the land: Why then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
10 Και ώμοσε προς αυτήν ο Σαούλ εις τον Κύριον, λέγων, Ζη Κύριος, δεν θέλει σε συμβή ουδέν κακόν διά τούτο.
And Saul swore to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
11 Τότε είπεν η γυνή, Τίνα να σοι αναβιβάσω; Και είπε, τον Σαμουήλ αναβίβασόν μοι.
Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up to thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 Και ότε είδεν γυνή τον Σαμουήλ, εβόησε μετά φωνής μεγάλης· και είπεν η γυνή προς τον Σαούλ, λέγουσα, Διά τι με ηπάτησας; και συ είσαι ο Σαούλ.
And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
13 Και είπε προς αυτήν ο βασιλεύς, Μη φοβού· τι είδες λοιπόν; Και είπεν η γυνή προς τον Σαούλ, Θεούς είδον αναβαίνοντας εκ της γης.
And the king said to her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said to Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
14 Και είπε προς αυτήν, Τις είναι η μορφή αυτού; Η δε είπε, Γέρων τις αναβαίνει και είναι περιτετυλιγμένος με επένδυμα. Και εγνώρισεν ο Σαούλ ότι ήτο ο Σαμουήλ, και έκυψε κατά πρόσωπον εις την γην και προσεκύνησε.
And he said to her, What is his form? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
15 Και είπεν ο Σαμουήλ προς τον Σαούλ, Διά τι με παρηνώχλησας, ώστε να με κάμης να αναβώ; Και απεκρίθη ο Σαούλ, Ευρίσκομαι εν μεγάλη αμηχανία· διότι οι Φιλισταίοι πολεμούσιν εναντίον μου, και ο Θεός απεμακρύνθη απ' εμού και δεν μοι αποκρίνεται πλέον ούτε διά προφητών ούτε δι' ενυπνίων· διά τούτο σε εκάλεσα διά να φανερώσης εις εμέ τι να κάμω.
And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am grievously distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God hath departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known to me what I shall do.
16 Τότε είπεν ο Σαμουήλ, Διά τι λοιπόν ερωτάς εμέ, αφού ο Κύριος απεμακρύνθη από σου και έγεινεν εχθρός σου;
Then said Samuel, Why then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD hath departed from thee, and hath become thy enemy?
17 ο Κύριος βεβαίως έκαμεν εις εαυτόν ως ελάλησε δι' εμού· διότι εξέσχισεν ο Κύριος την βασιλείαν εκ της χειρός σου και έδωκεν αυτήν εις τον πλησίον σου, τον Δαβίδ·
And the LORD hath done to him, as he spoke by me: for the LORD hath torn the kingdom out of thy hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
18 επειδή δεν υπήκουσας εις την φωνήν του Κυρίου, ουδέ εξετέλεσας τον μέγαν θυμόν αυτού κατά του Αμαλήκ, διά τούτο ο Κύριος έκαμεν εις σε το πράγμα τούτο την ημέραν ταύτην·
Because thou didst not obey the voice of the LORD, nor execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing to thee this day.
19 και θέλει παραδώσει ο Κύριος και τον Ισραήλ μετά σου εις την χείρα των Φιλισταίων· και αύριον συ και οι υιοί σου θέλετε είσθαι μετ' εμού· και το στρατόπεδον του Ισραήλ θέλει παραδώσει ο Κύριος εις την χείρα των Φιλισταίων.
Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
20 Τότε έπεσεν ο Σαούλ ευθύς όλος εξηπλωμένος κατά γής· διότι κατετρόμαξεν εκ των λόγων του Σαμουήλ· και δύναμις δεν ήτο εν αυτώ, επειδή δεν είχε φάγει άρτον όλην την ημέραν και όλην την νύκτα.
Then Saul fell immediately all along on the earth, and was exceedingly afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
21 Και ήλθεν η γυνή προς τον Σαούλ και είδεν ότι ήτο σφόδρα τεταραγμένος, και είπε προς αυτόν, Ιδού, η δούλη σου υπήκουσεν εις την φωνήν σου, και έβαλον την ζωήν μου εις την χείρα μου και υπετάχθην εις τους λόγους σου, τους οποίους ελάλησας προς εμέ·
And the woman came to Saul, and saw that he was greatly troubled, and said to him, Behold, thy handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened to thy words which thou spoke to me.
22 τώρα λοιπόν, άκουσον και συ, παρακαλώ, την φωνήν της δούλης σου, και ας βάλω ολίγον άρτον έμπροσθέν σου· και φάγε, διά να λάβης δύναμιν, επειδή υπάγεις εις οδοιπορίαν.
Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also to the voice of thy handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.
23 Πλην δεν ήθελε, λέγων, Δεν θέλω φάγει· οι δούλοι όμως αυτού μετά της γυναικός εβίαζον αυτόν, και εισήκουσεν εις την φωνήν αυτών· και σηκωθείς από της γης, εκάθησεν επί της κλίνης.
But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened to their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
24 είχε δε η γυνή παχύ δαμάλιον εν τη οικία· και έσπευσε και έσφαξεν αυτό· και λαβούσα άλευρον, εζύμωσε και έψησεν άζυμα εξ αυτού.
And the woman had a fat calf in the house; and she hasted, and killed it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread from it:
25 Και έφερεν έμπροσθεν του Σαούλ και έμπροσθεν των δούλων αυτού· και έφαγον. Και εσηκώθησαν και ανεχώρησαν την νύκτα εκείνην.
And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they ate. Then they arose, and went away that night.
