Βασιλειῶν Γʹ 21
1 Μετά δε ταύτα τα πράγματα Ναβουθαί ο Ιεζραηλίτης είχεν αμπελώνα εν Ιεζραέλ, πλησίον του παλατίου του Αχαάβ βασιλέως της Σαμαρείας.
And it came to pass after these events, that Naboth the Yizre'elite had a vineyard, which was in Yizre'el, near the palace of Achab the king of Samaria.
2 Και ελάλησεν ο Αχαάβ προς τον Ναβουθαί, λέγων, Δος μοι τον αμπελώνά σου, διά να έχω αυτόν κήπον λαχάνων, επειδή είναι πλησίον του οίκου μου· και θέλω σοι δώσει αντ' αυτού αμπελώνα καλήτερον παρ' αυτού· ή, αν ήναι αρεστόν εις σε, θέλω σοι δώσει το αντίτιμον αυτού εις αργύριον.
And Achab spoke unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that it may serve me for a herb-garden, because it is near unto my house; and I will give thee in its stead a vineyard better than it; [or, ] if it seem good in thy eyes, I will give thee the money, the value of the same.
3 Ο δε Ναβουθαί είπε προς τον Αχαάβ, Μη γένοιτο εις εμέ παρά Θεού, να δώσω την κληρονομίαν των πατέρων μου εις σε.
And Naboth said to Achab, Far be it from me before the Lord, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
4 Και ήλθεν ο Αχαάβ εις τον οίκον αυτού σκυθρωπός και δυσηρεστημένος διά τον λόγον, τον οποίον ελάλησε προς αυτόν Ναβουβαί ο Ιεζραηλίτης, ειπών, Δεν θέλω σοι δώσει την κληρονομίαν των πατέρων μου. Και επλαγίασεν επί της κλίνης αυτού και απέστρεψε το πρόσωπον αυτού και δεν έφαγεν άρτον.
And Achab came into his house low-spirited and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Yizre'elite had spoken to him, when he said, I will not give unto thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid himself down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no food.
5 Και ήλθε προς αυτόν Ιεζάβελ η γυνή αυτού και είπε προς αυτόν, Διά τι το πνεύμά σου είναι περίλυπον, ώστε δεν τρώγεις άρτον;
But Izebel his wife came to him, and spoke unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad! and why eatest thou no food?
6 Ο δε είπε προς αυτήν, Επειδή ελάλησα προς Ναβουθαί τον Ιεζραηλίτην, και είπα προς αυτόν, Δος μοι τον αμπελώνά σου δι' αργυρίου· ή, αν αγαπάς, θέλω σοι δώσει άλλον αμπελώνα αντ' αυτού. και εκείνος απεκρίθη, Δεν θέλω σοι δώσει τον αμπελώνά μου.
And he said unto her, Because I spoke unto Naboth the Yizre'elite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee a vineyard in its stead; but he hath said, I will not give unto thee my vineyard.
7 Και είπε προς αυτόν Ιεζάβελ η γυνή αυτού, Συ τώρα βασιλεύεις επί τον Ισραήλ; σηκώθητι, φάγε άρτον, και ας ήναι εύθυμος η καρδία σου· εγώ θέλω σοι δώσει τον αμπελώνα Ναβουθαί του Ιεζραηλίτου.
Then said unto him Izebel his wife, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, eat bread, and let thy heart be merry: I will myself give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Yizre'elite.
8 Τότε έγραψεν επιστολάς εν ονόματι του Αχαάβ και εσφράγισε διά της σφραγίδος αυτού, και απέστειλε τας επιστολάς προς τους πρεσβυτέρους και προς τους άρχοντας, τους όντας εν τη πόλει αυτού, τους κατοικούντας μετά του Ναβουβαί.
So she wrote letters in Achab's name, and sealed them with his seal; and she sent the letters unto the elders and unto the nobles who were in his city, and who dwelt near Naboth.
9 Και έγραφεν εν ταις επιστολαίς, λέγουσα, Κηρύξατε νηστείαν και καθίσατε τον Ναβουθαί επί κεφαλής του λαού·
And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and cause Naboth to sit at the head of the people;
10 και παρακαθίσατε δύο άνδρας κακούς αντικρύ αυτού, και ας μαρτυρήσωσι κατ' αυτού, λέγοντες, Συ εβλασφήμησας τον Θεόν και τον βασιλέα· και εκβάλετε αυτόν και λιθοβολήσατε αυτόν, και ας αποθάνη.
And seat two men, worthless fellows, opposite to him, and let them bear witness against him, saying, Thou hast blasphemed God and the king; and then lead him forth, and stone him, that he may die.
11 Και έκαμον οι άνδρες της πόλεως αυτού, οι πρεσβύτεροι και οι άρχοντες οι κατοικούντες εν τη πόλει αυτού, καθώς εμήνυσε προς αυτούς η Ιεζάβελ, κατά το γεγραμμένον εν ταις επιστολαίς τας οποίας έστειλε προς αυτούς.
And the men of his city, the elders and the nobles, those who dwelt in his city, did as Izebel had sent unto them, as was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
12 Εκήρυξαν νηστείαν και εκάθησαν τον Ναβουθαί επί κεφαλής του λαού·
They proclaimed a fast, and caused Naboth to sit at the head of the people.
13 και εισήλθον δύο άνδρες κακοί και εκάθισαν αντικρύ αυτού· και εμαρτύρησαν οι άνδρες οι κακοί κατ' αυτού, κατά του Ναβουθαί, ενώπιον του λαού, λέγοντες, Ο Ναβουθαί εβλασφήμησε τον Θεόν και τον βασιλέα. Τότε εξέβαλον αυτόν έξω της πόλεως και ελιθοβόλησαν αυτόν με λίθους, και απέθανε.
And there came in two men, worthless fellows, and seated themselves opposite to him; and these worthless men testified against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth hath blasphemed God and the king. Then they led him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14 Και απέστειλαν προς την Ιεζάβελ, λέγοντες, Ο Ναβουβαί ελιθοβολήθη και απέθανε.
And they sent to Izebel, saying, Naboth hath been stoned, and is dead.
15 Και ως ήκουσεν η Ιεζάβελ ότι ο Ναβουβαί ελιθοβολήθη και απέθανεν, είπεν η Ιεζάβελ προς τον Αχαάβ, Σηκώθητι, κληρονόμησον τον αμπελώνα Ναβουθαί του Ιεζραηλίτου, τον οποίον δεν ήθελε να σοι δώση δι' αργυρίου· διότι ο Ναβουθαί δεν ζη αλλ' απέθανε.
And it came to pass, when Izebel heard that Naboth had been stoned, and was dead, that Izebel said to Achab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Yizre'elite, which he refused to give thee for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16 Και ως ήκουσεν ο Αχαάβ ότι ο Ναβουθαί απέθανεν, εσηκώθη ο Αχαάβ να καταβή εις τον αμπελώνα του Ναβουθαί του Ιεζραηλίτου, διά να κληρονομήση αυτόν.
And it came to pass, when Achab heard that Naboth was dead, that Achab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Yizre'elite, to take possession of it.
17 Και ήλθεν ο λόγος του Κυρίου προς Ηλίαν τον Θεσβίτην, λέγων,
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18 Σηκώθητι, κατάβα εις συνάντησιν του Αχαάβ, βασιλέως του Ισραήλ, όστις κατοικεί εν Σαμαρεία· ιδού, εν τω αμπελώνι του Ναβουθαί είναι, όπου κατέβη διά να κληρονομήση αυτόν·
Arise, go down to meet Achab the king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to take possession of it.
19 και θέλεις λαλήσει προς αυτόν, λέγων, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Εφόνευσας και έτι εκληρονόμησας; Και θέλεις λαλήσει προς αυτόν, λέγων, ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Εν τω τόπω, όπου οι κύνες έγλειψαν το αίμα του Ναβουθαί, θέλουσι γλείψει οι κύνες το αίμα σου, ναι, σου.
And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Hast thou murdered, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall the dogs lick thy blood, yes, thine also.
20 Και είπεν ο Αχαάβ προς τον Ηλίαν, Με εύρηκας, εχθρέ μου; Και απεκρίθη, Σε εύρηκα· διότι επώλησας σεαυτόν εις το να πράττης το πονηρόν ενώπιον του Κυρίου.
And Achab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O my enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to do what is evil in the eyes of the Lord.
21 Ιδού, λέγει Κύριος, Εγώ θέλω φέρει κακόν επί σε, και θέλω σαρώσει κατόπιν σου και εξολοθρεύσει του Αχαάβ τον ουρούντα προς τον τοίχον και τον πεφυλαγμένον και τον αφειμένον μεταξύ του Ισραήλ·
Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and I will sweep out after thee, and will cut off from Achab every male, and the guarded and fortified in Israel,
22 και θέλω καταστήσει τον οίκόν σου ως τον οίκον του Ιεροβοάμ υιού του Ναβάτ, και ως τον οίκον του Βαασά υιού του Αχιά, διά τον παροργισμόν τον οποίον με παρώργιαας, και έκαμες τον Ισραήλ να αμαρτήση.
And I will make thy house like the house of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, and like the house of Ba'sha the son of Achiyah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked [me] to anger, and induced Israel to sin.
23 Και περί της Ιεζάβελ έτι ελάλησεν ο Κύριος, λέγων, Οι κύνες θέλουσι καταφάγει την Ιεζάβελ πλησίον του προτειχίσματος της Ιεζραέλ·
And also concerning Izebel hath the Lord spoken, saying, The dogs shall eat Izebel in the valley of Yizre'el.
24 όστις εκ του Αχαάβ αποθάνη εν τη πόλει, οι κύνες θέλουσι καταφάγει αυτόν· και όστις αποθάνη εν τω αγρώ, τα πετεινά του ουρανού θέλουσι καταφάγει αυτόν.
Him that dieth of Achab in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the heavens eat.
25 Ουδείς τωόντι δεν εστάθη όμοιος του Αχαάβ, όστις επώλησεν εαυτόν εις το να πράττη πονηρά ενώπιον του Κυρίου, όπως εκίνει αυτόν Ιεζάβελ η γυνή αυτού.
But indeed there was none like unto Achab, who sold himself to do what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, to which Izebel his wife incited him.
26 Και έπραξε βδελυρά σφόδρα ακολουθών τα είδωλα, κατά πάντα όσα έπραττον οι Αμορραίοι, τους οποίους ο Κύριος εξεδίωξεν απ' έμπροσθεν των υιών Ισραήλ.
And he acted very abominably in following the idols, in all things just as had done the Emorites, whom the Lord had driven out from before the children of Israel.
27 Ως δε ήκουσεν ο Αχαάβ τους λόγους τούτους, διέρρηξε τα ιμάτια αυτού και έβαλε σάκκον επί την σάρκα αυτού και ενήστευσε, και εκοίτετο περιτετυλιγμένος σάκκον και εβάδιζε κεκυφώς.
And it came to pass, when Achab heard these words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and slept in the sackcloth, and walked about barefooted.
28 Ήλθε δε ο λόγος του Κυρίου προς Ηλίαν τον Θεσβίτην, λέγων,
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29 Είδες πως εταπεινώθη ο Αχαάβ ενώπιόν μου; επειδή εταπεινώθη ενώπιόν μου, δεν θέλω φέρει το κακόν εν ταις ημέραις αυτού· εν ταις ημέραις του υιού αυτού θέλω φέρει το κακόν επί τον οίκον αυτού.
Hast thou seen how Achab hath humbled himself before me? therefore, because he hath humbled himself before me, will I not bring the evil in his days: in the days of his son will I bring the evil upon his house.
