Βασιλειῶν Γʹ 13
1 Και ιδού, ήλθεν άνθρωπος του Θεού εξ Ιούδα εις Βαιθήλ με λόγον του Κυρίου· ο δε Ιεροβοάμ ίστατο επί του θυσιαστηρίου, διά να θυμιάση.
And beholde, there came a man of God out of Iudah (by the commandement of the Lord) vnto Beth-el, and Ieroboam stoode by the altar to offer incense.
2 Και εφώνησε προς το θυσιαστήριον με λόγον του Κυρίου, και είπε, Θυσιαστήριον, θυσιαστήριον, ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Ιδού, υιός θέλει γεννηθή εις τον οίκον του Δαβίδ, Ιωσίας το όνομα αυτού, και θέλει θυσιάσει επί σε τους ιερείς των υψηλών τόπων, τους θυμιάζοντας επί σε, και οστά ανθρώπων θέλουσι καυθή επί σε.
And he cryed against the altar by the comandement of the Lord, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the Lord, Beholde, a child shalbe borne vnto the house of Dauid, Iosiah by name, and vpon thee shall he sacrifice the Priestes of the hie places that burne incense vpon thee, and they shall burne mens bones vpon thee.
3 Και έδωκε σημείον την αυτήν ημέραν, λέγων, Τούτο είναι το σημείον, το οποίον ελάλησεν ο Κύριος· Ιδού, το θυσιαστήριον θέλει διασχισθή, και η στάκτη η επ' αυτού θέλει εκχυθή.
And he gaue a signe the same time, saying, This is the signe, that the Lord hath spoken, Behold, the altar shall rent, and the ashes that are vpon it, shall fall out.
4 Και ότε ήκουσεν ο βασιλεύς Ιεροβοάμ τον λόγον του ανθρώπου του Θεού, τον οποίον εφώνησε προς το θυσιαστήριον εν Βαιθήλ, εξέτεινε την χείρα αυτού από του θυσιαστηρίου, λέγων, Συλλάβετε αυτόν. Και εξηράνθη η χειρ αυτού, την οποίαν εξέτεινεν επ' αυτόν, ώστε δεν ηδυνήθη να επιστρέψη αυτήν προς εαυτόν.
And when the King had heard the saying of the man of God, which he had cryed against the altar in Beth-el, Ieroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, Lay holde on him: but his hande which he put foorth against him, dryed vp, and he could not pull it in againe to him.
5 Και διεσχίσθη το θυσιαστήριον και εξεχύθη η στάκτη από του θυσιαστηρίου, κατά το σημείον το οποίον έδωκεν ο άνθρωπος του Θεού διά του λόγου του Κυρίου.
The altar also claue asunder, and the ashes fell out from the altar, according to the signe, which the man of God had giuen by the commandement of the Lord.
6 Και απεκρίθη ο βασιλεύς και είπε προς τον άνθρωπον του Θεού, Δεήθητι, παρακαλώ, Κυρίου του Θεού σου και προσευχήθητι υπέρ εμού, διά να επιστρέψη η χειρ μου προς εμέ. Και εδεήθη ο άνθρωπος του Θεού προς τον Κύριον, και επέστρεψεν η χειρ του βασιλέως προς αυτόν και αποκατεστάθη ως το πρότερον.
Then the King answered, and saide vnto the man of God, I beseeche thee, pray vnto ye Lord thy God, and make intercession for me, that mine hand may bee restored vnto me. And the man of God besought the Lord, and the Kings hand was restored, and became as it was afore.
7 Και είπεν ο βασιλεύς προς τον άνθρωπον του Θεού, Είσελθε μετ' εμού εις τον οίκον και λάβε τροφήν, και θέλω σοι δώσει δώρα.
Then the King sayde vnto the man of God, Come home with mee, that thou mayest dyne, and I will giue thee a reward.
8 Αλλ' ο άνθρωπος του Θεού είπε προς τον βασιλέα, Το ήμισυ του οίκου σου αν μοι δώσης, δεν θέλω εισέλθει μετά σού· ουδέ θέλω φάγει άρτον ουδέ θέλω πίει ύδωρ εν τω τόπω τούτω·
But the man of God saide vnto the King, If thou wouldest giue me halfe thine house, I would not goe in with thee, neither woulde I eate bread nor drinke water in this place.
9 διότι ούτως είναι προστεταγμένον εις εμέ διά του λόγου του Κυρίου, λέγοντος, Μη φάγης άρτον και μη πίης ύδωρ και μη επιστρέψης διά της οδού, διά της οποίας ήλθες.
For so was it charged mee by the worde of the Lord, saying, Eate no bread nor drinke water, nor turne againe by the same way that thou camest.
10 Και ανεχώρησε δι' άλλης οδού και δεν επέστρεψε διά της οδού, διά της οποίας ήλθεν εις Βαιθήλ.
So he went another way and returned not by the way that he came to Beth-el.
11 Κατώκει δε εν Βαιθήλ γέρων τις προφήτης· και ήλθον οι υιοί αυτού και διηγήθησαν προς αυτόν πάντα τα έργα, τα οποία έκαμεν ο άνθρωπος του Θεού την ημέραν εκείνην εν Βαιθήλ· διηγήθησαν δε προς τον πατέρα αυτών και τους λόγους, τους οποίους ελάλησε προς τον βασιλέα.
And an olde Prophet dwelt in Beth-el, and his sonnes came and tolde him all ye woorkes, that the man of God had done that day in Beth-el, and the wordes which he had spoken vnto the King, tolde they their father.
12 Και είπε προς αυτούς ο πατήρ αυτών, Διά τίνος οδού ανεχώρησεν; είχον δε ιδεί οι υιοί αυτού διά τίνος οδού ανεχώρησεν ο άνθρωπος του Θεού ο ελθών εξ Ιούδα.
And their father sayde vnto them, What way went he? and his sonnes shewed him what waye the man of God went, which came from Iudah.
13 Και είπε προς τους υιούς αυτού, Ετοιμάσατέ μοι την όνον. Και ητοίμασαν εις αυτόν την όνον· και εκάθησεν επ' αυτήν,
And hee saide vnto his sonnes, Saddle mee the asse. Who sadled him the asse, and hee rode thereon,
14 και υπήγε κατόπιν του ανθρώπου του Θεού και εύρηκεν αυτόν καθήμενον υπό δρύν· και είπε προς αυτόν, συ είσαι ο άνθρωπος του Θεού ο ελθών εξ Ιούδα; Ο δε είπεν, Εγώ.
And went after the man of God, and found him sitting vnder an oke: and he saide vnto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Iudah? And he sayd, Yea.
15 Και είπε προς αυτόν, Ελθέ μετ' εμού εις την οικίαν και φάγε άρτον.
Then he said vnto him, Come home with me, and eate bread.
16 Ο δε είπε, Δεν δύναμαι να επιστρέψω μετά σου ουδέ να έλθω μετά σού· ουδέ θέλω φάγει άρτον ουδέ θέλω πίει ύδωρ μετά σου εν τω τόπω τούτω·
But he answered, I may not returne with thee, nor go in with thee, neither wil I eate bread nor drinke water with thee in this place.
17 διότι ελαλήθη προς εμέ διά του λόγου του Κυρίου, Μη φάγης άρτον μηδέ πίης ύδωρ εκεί, μηδέ επιστρέψης υπάγων διά της οδού διά της οποίας ήλθες.
For it was charged me by the word of the Lord, saying, Thou shalt eate no bread, nor drinke water there, nor turne againe to goe by the way that thou wentest.
18 Είπε δε προς αυτόν, Και εγώ προφήτης είμαι, καθώς σύ· και άγγελος ελάλησε προς εμέ διά του λόγου του Κυρίου, λέγων, Επίστρεψον αυτόν μετά σου εις την οικίαν σου, διά να φάγη άρτον και να πίη ύδωρ. Εψεύσθη δε προς αυτόν.
And he said vnto him, I am a Prophet also as thou art, and an Angel spake vnto me by the worde of the Lord, saying, Bring him againe with thee into thine house, that hee may eate bread and drinke water: but he lyed vnto him.
19 Και επέστρεψε μετ' αυτού και έφαγεν άρτον εν τω οίκω αυτού και έπιεν ύδωρ.
So he went againe with him, and did eate bread in his house, and dranke water.
20 Και ενώ εκάθηντο εις την τράπεζαν, ήλθεν ο λόγος του Κυρίου προς τον προφήτην τον επιστρέψαντα αυτόν·
And as they sate at the table, the worde of the Lord came vnto the Prophet, that brought him againe.
21 και εφώνησε προς τον άνθρωπον του Θεού τον ελθόντα εξ Ιούδα, λέγων, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος. Επειδή παρήκουσας της φωνής του Κυρίου και δεν εφύλαξας την εντολήν, την οποίαν Κύριος ο Θεός σου προσέταξεν εις σε,
And hee cried vnto the man of God that came from Iudah, saying, Thus sayeth the Lord, Because thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and hast not kept the commandement which the Lord thy God commanded thee,
22 αλλ' επέστρεψας και έφαγες άρτον και έπιες ύδωρ εν τω τόπω, περί του οποίου είπε προς σε, Μη φάγης άρτον μηδέ πίης ύδωρ· το σώμα σου δεν θέλει εισέλθει εις τον τάφον των πατέρων σου.
But camest backe againe, and hast eaten bread and drunke water in the place (whereof he did say vnto thee, Thou shalt eate no bread nor drinke any water) thy carkeis shall not come vnto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
23 Και αφού έφαγεν άρτον και αφού έπιεν, ητοίμασεν εκείνος την όνον εις αυτόν, εις τον προφήτην τον οποίον επέστρεψε.
And when he had eaten bread and drunke, he sadled him the asse, to wit, to the Prophet whome he had brought againe.
24 Και ανεχώρησεν· εύρε δε αυτόν λέων καθ' οδόν και εθανάτωσεν αυτόν· και το σώμα αυτού ήτο ερριμμένον εν τη οδώ· η δε όνος ίστατο πλησίον αυτού και ο λέων ίστατο πλησίον του σώματος.
And when hee was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slewe him, and his body was cast in the way, and the asse stoode thereby: the lion stood by the corps also.
25 Και ιδού, άνδρες διαβαίνοντες είδον το σώμα ερριμμένον εν τη οδώ και τον λέοντα ιστάμενον πλησίον του σώματος· και ελθόντες απήγγειλαν τούτο εν τη πόλει, όπου κατώκει ο προφήτης ο γέρων.
And beholde, men that passed by, sawe the carkeis cast in the way, and the lion standing by the corps: and they came and tolde it in ye towne where the olde Prophet dwelt.
26 Και ότε ήκουσεν ο προφήτης ο επιστρέψας αυτόν εκ της οδού, είπεν, Ούτος είναι ο άνθρωπος του Θεού, όστις παρήκουσε της φωνής του Κυρίου· διά τούτο παρέδωκεν αυτόν ο Κύριος εις τον λέοντα, και διεσπάραξεν αυτόν και εθανάτωσεν αυτόν, κατά τον λόγον του Κυρίου, τον οποίον ελάλησε προς αυτόν.
And when the Prophet that brought him backe againe from the waye, hearde thereof, hee sayde, It is the man of God, who hath bene disobedient vnto the commandement of the Lord: therefore the Lord hath deliuered him vnto the lion, which hath rent him and slayne him, according to the worde of the Lord, which hee spake vnto him.
27 Και ελάλησε προς τους υιούς αυτού, λέγων, Στρώσατε εις εμέ την όνον. Και έστρωσαν.
And he spake to his sonnes, saying, Saddle me the asse. And they sadled him.
28 Και υπήγε και εύρηκε το σώμα αυτού ερριμμένον εν τη οδώ, και την όνον και τον λέοντα ισταμένους πλησίον του σώματος· ο λέων δεν έφαγε το σώμα ουδέ διεσπάραξε την όνον.
And he went and founde his body cast in the way, and the asse and the lion stoode by the corps: and the lion had not eaten the bodie, nor torne the asse.
29 Και εσήκωσεν ο προφήτης το σώμα του ανθρώπου του Θεού, και επέθεσεν αυτό επί την όνον, και ανέφερεν αυτόν· και ήλθεν εις την πόλιν ο προφήτης ο γέρων, διά να πενθήση και να θάψη αυτόν.
And the Prophet tooke vp the body of the man of God, and layed it vpon the asse, and brought it againe, and the olde Prophet came to the citie, to lament and burie him.
30 Και έθεσε το σώμα αυτού εν τω τάφω αυτού· και επένθησαν επ' αυτόν, λέγοντες, Φευ αδελφέ μου
And hee layed his bodie in his owne graue, and they lamented ouer him, saying, Alas, my brother.
31 Και αφού έθαψεν αυτόν, ελάλησε προς τους υιούς αυτού, λέγων, Αφού αποθάνω, θάψατε και εμέ εν τω τάφω, όπου ετάφη ο άνθρωπος του Θεού· θέσατε τα οστά μου πλησίον των οστέων αυτού·
And when he had buried him, hee spake to his sonnes, saying, When I am dead, burie ye mee also in the sepulchre, wherein the man of God is buried: lay my bones beside his bones.
32 διότι θέλει εξάπαντος εκτελεσθή το πράγμα, το οποίον εφώνησε διά του λόγου του Κυρίου κατά του θυσιαστηρίου εν Βαιθήλ και κατά πάντων των οίκων των υψηλών τόπων, οίτινες είναι εις τας πόλεις της Σαμαρείας.
For that thing which he cried by the word of the Lord against the altar that is in Beth-el, and against all the houses of the hie places, which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to passe.
33 Μετά το πράγμα τούτο δεν επέστρεψεν ο Ιεροβοάμ εκ της οδού αυτού της κακής, αλλ' έκαμε πάλιν εκ των εσχάτων του λαού ιερείς των υψηλών τόπων· όστις ήθελε, καθιέρονεν αυτόν, και εγίνετο ιερεύς των υψηλών τόπων.
Howbeit after this, Ieroboam conuerted not from his wicked way, but turned againe, and made of the lowest of the people Priests of the hie places. Who would, might consecrate him selfe, and be of the Priestes of the hie places.
34 Και έγεινε το πράγμα τούτο αιτία αμαρτίας εις τον οίκον του Ιεροβοάμ, ώστε να εξολοθρεύση και να αφανίση αυτόν από προσώπου της γης.
And this thing turned to sinne vnto the house of Ieroboam, euen to roote it out, and destroy it from the face of the earth.
