Ιωαννου Β΄ 1
1 ο πρεσβυτεροσ εκλεκτη κυρια και τοισ τεκνοισ αυτησ ουσ εγω αγαπω εν αληθεια και ουκ εγω μονοσ αλλα και παντεσ οι εγνωκοτεσ την αληθειαν
The Elder, unto an elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not, I, alone, but all those also who understand the truth, —
For the sake of the truth that abideth in us, and, with us, shall be unto times age-abiding, (aiōn g165)
3 εσται μεθ ημων χαρισ ελεοσ ειρηνη παρα θεου πατροσ και παρα κυριου ιησου χριστου του υιου του πατροσ εν αληθεια και αγαπη
Favour, mercy, peace shall be with us, from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4 εχαρην λιαν οτι ευρηκα εκ των τεκνων σου περιπατουντασ εν αληθεια καθωσ εντολην ελαβομεν παρα του πατροσ
I rejoiced exceedingly, in that I had found, from among thy children, such as were walking in truth, even as, a commandment, we received from the Father.
5 και νυν ερωτω σε κυρια ουχ ωσ εντολην γραφων σοι καινην αλλα ην ειχομεν απ αρχησ ινα αγαπωμεν αλληλουσ
And, now, I request thee, lady, not as writing, a new commandment, unto thee, but one which we were holding from the beginning—That we should be loving one another.
6 και αυτη εστιν η αγαπη ινα περιπατωμεν κατα τασ εντολασ αυτου αυτη εστιν η εντολη καθωσ ηκουσατε απ αρχησ ινα εν αυτη περιπατητε
And, this, is love, that we should be walking according to his commandments: This, is, the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that, therein, ye should be walking.
7 οτι πολλοι πλανοι εισηλθον εισ τον κοσμον οι μη ομολογουντεσ ιησουν χριστον ερχομενον εν σαρκι ουτοσ εστιν ο πλανοσ και ο αντιχριστοσ
Because, many deceivers, have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh: This, is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 βλεπετε εαυτουσ ινα μη απολεσωμεν α ειργασαμεθα αλλα μισθον πληρη απολαβωμεν
Be taking heed unto yourselves, lest ye lose what things we earned, —but, a full reward, ye may duly receive.
9 πασ ο παραβαινων και μη μενων εν τη διδαχη του χριστου θεον ουκ εχει ο μενων εν τη διδαχη του χριστου ουτοσ και τον πατερα και τον υιον εχει
Every one that taketh a lead, and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not, God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same, hath, both the Father and the Son.
10 ει τισ ερχεται προσ υμασ και ταυτην την διδαχην ου φερει μη λαμβανετε αυτον εισ οικιαν και χαιρειν αυτω μη λεγετε
If anyone cometh unto you and, this teaching, doth not bring, be not receiving him home, and, Joy to thee! do not say;
11 ο γαρ λεγων αυτω χαιρειν κοινωνει τοισ εργοισ αυτου τοισ πονηροισ
For, he that biddeth him rejoice, hath fellowship with his wicked works.
12 πολλα εχων υμιν γραφειν ουκ εβουληθην δια χαρτου και μελανοσ αλλα ελπιζω ελθειν προσ υμασ και στομα προσ στομα λαλησαι ινα η χαρα ημων η πεπληρωμενη
Though I had many things, unto you, to write, I was not minded [to say them] with paper and ink; but I hope to come unto you, and, mouth to mouth, to talk, —that your joy may be made full.
13 ασπαζεται σε τα τεκνα τησ αδελφησ σου τησ εκλεκτησ αμην
The children of thy chosen sister salute thee.
