Ψαλμοί 25
1 ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυιδ πρὸς σέ κύριε ἦρα τὴν ψυχήν μου ὁ θεός μου
David’s. [An Alphabetical Psalm.] Unto thee, O Yahweh, my soul, would I lift:
2 ἐπὶ σοὶ πέποιθα μὴ καταισχυνθείην μηδὲ καταγελασάτωσάν μου οἱ ἐχθροί μου
O my God, in thee, have I put my trust, Let me not be put to shame, Let not my foe exult over me:
3 καὶ γὰρ πάντες οἱ ὑπομένοντές σε οὐ μὴ καταισχυνθῶσιν αἰσχυνθήτωσαν πάντες οἱ ἀνομοῦντες διὰ κενῆς
Yea let, none who wait for thee, be put to shame, Let them be put to shame who act covertly without cause!
4 τὰς ὁδούς σου κύριε γνώρισόν μοι καὶ τὰς τρίβους σου δίδαξόν με
Thy ways, O Yahweh, let me know, Thy paths, teach thou me:
5 ὁδήγησόν με ἐπὶ τὴν ἀλήθειάν σου καὶ δίδαξόν με ὅτι σὺ εἶ ὁ θεὸς ὁ σωτήρ μου καὶ σὲ ὑπέμεινα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
Guide me into thy truth and teach me, for, thou, art my delivering God, For thee, have I waited all the day:
6 μνήσθητι τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν σου κύριε καὶ τὰ ἐλέη σου ὅτι ἀπὸ τοῦ αἰῶνός εἰσιν
Remember thy compassions, O Yahweh, and thy lovingkindnesses, For, from age-past times, have they been.
7 ἁμαρτίας νεότητός μου καὶ ἀγνοίας μου μὴ μνησθῇς κατὰ τὸ ἔλεός σου μνήσθητί μου σὺ ἕνεκα τῆς χρηστότητός σου κύριε
The sins of my youth, and my transgressions, do not thou call to mind, —According to thine own lovingkindness, remember thou me, for the sake of thine own goodness, O Yahweh.
8 χρηστὸς καὶ εὐθὴς ὁ κύριος διὰ τοῦτο νομοθετήσει ἁμαρτάνοντας ἐν ὁδῷ
Good and upright, is Yahweh, For this cause, will he direct sinners into the way.
9 ὁδηγήσει πραεῖς ἐν κρίσει διδάξει πραεῖς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ
May he guide patient wronged-ones to be righted, and teach such oppressed-ones his way.
10 πᾶσαι αἱ ὁδοὶ κυρίου ἔλεος καὶ ἀλήθεια τοῖς ἐκζητοῦσιν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ
All the paths of Yahweh, are lovingkindness and faithfulness, to such as keep his covenant, and his testimonies.
11 ἕνεκα τοῦ ὀνόματός σου κύριε καὶ ἱλάσῃ τῇ ἁμαρτίᾳ μου πολλὴ γάρ ἐστιν
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, Therefore wilt thou pardon mine iniquity, for great it is.
12 τίς ἐστιν ἄνθρωπος ὁ φοβούμενος τὸν κύριον νομοθετήσει αὐτῷ ἐν ὁδῷ ᾗ ᾑρετίσατο
Who then is the man that revereth Yahweh? Let him direct him into the way he should choose.
13 ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγαθοῖς αὐλισθήσεται καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ κληρονομήσει γῆν
His soul, with prosperity, shall tarry, and, his seed, shall possess the land.
14 κραταίωμα κύριος τῶν φοβουμένων αὐτόν καὶ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου τῶν φοβουμένων αὐτόν καὶ ἡ διαθήκη αὐτοῦ τοῦ δηλῶσαι αὐτοῖς
Intimacy with Yahweh, have they who revere him, His covenant also, he letteth them know.
15 οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου διὰ παντὸς πρὸς τὸν κύριον ὅτι αὐτὸς ἐκσπάσει ἐκ παγίδος τοὺς πόδας μου
Mine eyes, are continually unto Yahweh, —for, he, bringeth, out of the net, my feet.
16 ἐπίβλεψον ἐπ’ ἐμὲ καὶ ἐλέησόν με ὅτι μονογενὴς καὶ πτωχός εἰμι ἐγώ
Turn thou unto me, and show me favour, for, alone and oppressed, I am.
17 αἱ θλίψεις τῆς καρδίας μου ἐπλατύνθησαν ἐκ τῶν ἀναγκῶν μου ἐξάγαγέ με
The distresses of my heart, hath he relieved, —and, out of my straits, brought me forth.
18 ἰδὲ τὴν ταπείνωσίν μου καὶ τὸν κόπον μου καὶ ἄφες πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας μου
Behold my humiliation and my pain, and take away all my sins.
19 ἰδὲ τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου ὅτι ἐπληθύνθησαν καὶ μῖσος ἄδικον ἐμίσησάν με
Behold my foes, for they abound, —and, with the hatred of violence, do they hate me.
20 φύλαξον τὴν ψυχήν μου καὶ ῥῦσαί με μὴ καταισχυνθείην ὅτι ἤλπισα ἐπὶ σέ
Oh keep my soul, and rescue me, Let me not be put to shame, for I have sought refuge in thee.
21 ἄκακοι καὶ εὐθεῖς ἐκολλῶντό μοι ὅτι ὑπέμεινά σε κύριε
Let, blamelessness and uprightness, watch over me, because I have waited for thee.
22 λύτρωσαι ὁ θεός τὸν Ισραηλ ἐκ πασῶν τῶν θλίψεων αὐτοῦ
Redeem Israel, O God, —out of all his distresses.
