Θρῆνοι 3
1 ἐγὼ ἀνὴρ ὁ βλέπων πτωχείαν ἐν ῥάβδῳ θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐπ’ ἐμέ
I [the] great man to see: see affliction in/on/with tribe: staff fury his
2 παρέλαβέν με καὶ ἀπήγαγεν εἰς σκότος καὶ οὐ φῶς
[obj] me to lead and to go: take darkness and not light
3 πλὴν ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐπέστρεψεν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
surely in/on/with me to return: return to overturn hand his all [the] day
4 ἐπαλαίωσεν σάρκας μου καὶ δέρμα μου ὀστέα μου συνέτριψεν
to become old flesh my and skin my to break bone my
5 ἀνῳκοδόμησεν κατ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ ἐκύκλωσεν κεφαλήν μου καὶ ἐμόχθησεν
to build upon me and to surround poison and hardship
6 ἐν σκοτεινοῖς ἐκάθισέν με ὡς νεκροὺς αἰῶνος
in/on/with darkness to dwell me like/as to die forever: antiquity
7 ἀνῳκοδόμησεν κατ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσομαι ἐβάρυνεν χαλκόν μου
to wall up/off about/through/for me and not to come out: come to honor: heavy bronze my
8 καί γε κεκράξομαι καὶ βοήσω ἀπέφραξεν προσευχήν μου
also for to cry out and to cry to stopper prayer my
9 ἀνῳκοδόμησεν ὁδούς μου ἐνέφραξεν τρίβους μου ἐτάραξεν
to wall up/off way: road my in/on/with cutting path my to twist
10 ἄρκος ἐνεδρεύουσα αὐτός μοι λέων ἐν κρυφαίοις
bear to ambush he/she/it to/for me (lion *Q(K)*) in/on/with hiding
11 κατεδίωξεν ἀφεστηκότα καὶ κατέπαυσέν με ἔθετό με ἠφανισμένην
way: journey my to turn aside: turn aside and to tear me to set: make me devastated
12 ἐνέτεινεν τόξον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐστήλωσέν με ὡς σκοπὸν εἰς βέλος
to tread (bow his *L(abh)*) and to stand me like/as guardhouse to/for arrow
13 εἰσήγαγεν τοῖς νεφροῖς μου ἰοὺς φαρέτρας αὐτοῦ
to come (in): bring in/on/with kidney my son: type of quiver his
14 ἐγενήθην γέλως παντὶ λαῷ μου ψαλμὸς αὐτῶν ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
to be laughter to/for all people my music their all [the] day
15 ἐχόρτασέν με πικρίας ἐμέθυσέν με χολῆς
to satisfy me in/on/with bitterness to quench me wormwood
16 καὶ ἐξέβαλεν ψήφῳ ὀδόντας μου ἐψώμισέν με σποδόν
and to break in/on/with gravel tooth my to cower me in/on/with ashes
17 καὶ ἀπώσατο ἐξ εἰρήνης ψυχήν μου ἐπελαθόμην ἀγαθὰ
and to reject from peace soul my to forget welfare
18 καὶ εἶπα ἀπώλετο νεῖκός μου καὶ ἡ ἐλπίς μου ἀπὸ κυρίου
and to say to perish perpetuity my and hope my from LORD
19 ἐμνήσθην ἀπὸ πτωχείας μου καὶ ἐκ διωγμοῦ μου πικρίας καὶ χολῆς μου
to remember affliction my and wandering my wormwood and poison
20 μνησθήσεται καὶ καταδολεσχήσει ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ἡ ψυχή μου
to remember to remember (and to sink *Q(K)*) upon me soul my
21 ταύτην τάξω εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου διὰ τοῦτο ὑπομενῶ
this to return: recall to(wards) heart my upon so to wait: hope
kindness LORD for not to finish for not to end: finish compassion his
new to/for morning many faithfulness your
portion my LORD to say soul my upon so to wait: hope to/for him
25 ἀγαθὸς κύριος τοῖς ὑπομένουσιν αὐτόν ψυχῇ ἣ ζητήσει αὐτὸν ἀγαθὸν
pleasant LORD (to/for to await him *Q(K)*) to/for soul to seek him
26 καὶ ὑπομενεῖ καὶ ἡσυχάσει εἰς τὸ σωτήριον κυρίου
pleasant and waiting and silence to/for deliverance: salvation LORD
27 ἀγαθὸν ἀνδρὶ ὅταν ἄρῃ ζυγὸν ἐν νεότητι αὐτοῦ
pleasant to/for great man for to lift: bear yoke in/on/with youth his
28 καθήσεται κατὰ μόνας καὶ σιωπήσεται ὅτι ἦρεν ἐφ’ ἑαυτῷ
to dwell isolation and to silence: silent for to lift upon him
to give: put in/on/with dust lip his perhaps there hope
30 δώσει τῷ παίοντι αὐτὸν σιαγόνα χορτασθήσεται ὀνειδισμῶν
to give: give to/for to smite him jaw to satisfy in/on/with reproach
31 ὅτι οὐκ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἀπώσεται κύριος
for not to reject to/for forever: enduring Lord
32 ὅτι ὁ ταπεινώσας οἰκτιρήσει κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ ἐλέους αὐτοῦ
that if: except if: except to suffer and to have compassion like/as abundance (kindness his *Q(K)*)
33 ὅτι οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη ἀπὸ καρδίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐταπείνωσεν υἱοὺς ἀνδρός
for not to afflict from heart his and to suffer (son: child *L(abh)*) man
34 τοῦ ταπεινῶσαι ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ πάντας δεσμίους γῆς
to/for to crush underneath: under foot his all prisoner land: country/planet
35 τοῦ ἐκκλῖναι κρίσιν ἀνδρὸς κατέναντι προσώπου ὑψίστου
to/for to stretch justice great man before face Most High
36 καταδικάσαι ἄνθρωπον ἐν τῷ κρίνεσθαι αὐτὸν κύριος οὐκ εἶπεν
to/for to pervert man in/on/with strife his Lord not to see: select
37 τίς οὕτως εἶπεν καὶ ἐγενήθη κύριος οὐκ ἐνετείλατο

38 ἐκ στόματος ὑψίστου οὐκ ἐξελεύσεται τὰ κακὰ καὶ τὸ ἀγαθόν

39 τί γογγύσει ἄνθρωπος ζῶν ἀνὴρ περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας αὐτοῦ
what? to complain man alive great man upon (sin his *Q(K)*)
40 ἐξηρευνήθη ἡ ὁδὸς ἡμῶν καὶ ἠτάσθη καὶ ἐπιστρέψωμεν ἕως κυρίου
to search way: conduct our and to search and to return: return till LORD
41 ἀναλάβωμεν καρδίας ἡμῶν ἐπὶ χειρῶν πρὸς ὑψηλὸν ἐν οὐρανῷ

42 ἡμαρτήσαμεν ἠσεβήσαμεν καὶ οὐχ ἱλάσθης
we to transgress and to rebel you(m. s.) not to forgive
43 ἐπεσκέπασας ἐν θυμῷ καὶ ἀπεδίωξας ἡμᾶς ἀπέκτεινας οὐκ ἐφείσω
to cover in/on/with face: anger and to pursue us to kill not to spare
44 ἐπεσκέπασας νεφέλην σεαυτῷ εἵνεκεν προσευχῆς
to cover in/on/with cloud to/for you from to pass prayer
45 καμμύσαι με καὶ ἀπωσθῆναι ἔθηκας ἡμᾶς ἐν μέσῳ τῶν λαῶν
offscouring and refuse to set: make us in/on/with entrails: among [the] people
46 διήνοιξαν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς τὸ στόμα αὐτῶν πάντες οἱ ἐχθροὶ ἡμῶν
to open upon us lip their all enemy our
47 φόβος καὶ θυμὸς ἐγενήθη ἡμῖν ἔπαρσις καὶ συντριβή
dread and pit to be to/for us [the] devastation and [the] breaking
48 ἀφέσεις ὑδάτων κατάξει ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἐπὶ τὸ σύντριμμα τῆς θυγατρὸς τοῦ λαοῦ μου
stream water to go down eye my upon breaking daughter people my
49 ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου κατεπόθη καὶ οὐ σιγήσομαι τοῦ μὴ εἶναι ἔκνηψιν
eye my to pour and not to cease from nothing cessation
50 ἕως οὗ διακύψῃ καὶ ἴδῃ κύριος ἐξ οὐρανοῦ
till to look and to see: see LORD from heaven
51 ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἐπιφυλλιεῖ ἐπὶ τὴν ψυχήν μου παρὰ πάσας θυγατέρας πόλεως
eye my to abuse to/for soul: myself my from all daughter city my
52 θηρεύοντες ἐθήρευσάν με ὡς στρουθίον οἱ ἐχθροί μου δωρεάν
to hunt to hunt me like/as bird enemy my for nothing
53 ἐθανάτωσαν ἐν λάκκῳ ζωήν μου καὶ ἐπέθηκαν λίθον ἐπ’ ἐμοί
to destroy in/on/with pit life my and to give thanks stone in/on/with me
54 ὑπερεχύθη ὕδωρ ἐπὶ κεφαλήν μου εἶπα ἀπῶσμαι
to flow water upon head my to say to cut
55 ἐπεκαλεσάμην τὸ ὄνομά σου κύριε ἐκ λάκκου κατωτάτου
to call: call to name your LORD from pit lower
56 φωνήν μου ἤκουσας μὴ κρύψῃς τὰ ὦτά σου εἰς τὴν δέησίν μου
voice my to hear: hear not to conceal ear your to/for relief my to/for cry my
57 εἰς τὴν βοήθειάν μου ἤγγισας ἐν ᾗ σε ἡμέρᾳ ἐπεκαλεσάμην εἶπάς μοι μὴ φοβοῦ
to present: come in/on/with day to call: call to you to say not to fear
58 ἐδίκασας κύριε τὰς δίκας τῆς ψυχῆς μου ἐλυτρώσω τὴν ζωήν μου
to contend Lord strife soul: myself my to redeem: redeem life my
59 εἶδες κύριε τὰς ταραχάς μου ἔκρινας τὴν κρίσιν μου
to see: see LORD oppression my to judge [emph?] justice my
60 εἶδες πᾶσαν τὴν ἐκδίκησιν αὐτῶν εἰς πάντας διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν ἐν ἐμοί
to see: see all vengeance their all plot their to/for me
61 ἤκουσας τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτῶν πάντας τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν κατ’ ἐμοῦ
to hear: hear reproach their LORD all plot their upon me
62 χείλη ἐπανιστανομένων μοι καὶ μελέτας αὐτῶν κατ’ ἐμοῦ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
lips to arise: attack me and meditation their upon me all [the] day
63 καθέδραν αὐτῶν καὶ ἀνάστασιν αὐτῶν ἐπίβλεψον ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν
seat their and rising their to look [emph?] I mocking their
64 ἀποδώσεις αὐτοῖς ἀνταπόδομα κύριε κατὰ τὰ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν
to return: pay to/for them recompense LORD like/as deed: work hand their
65 ἀποδώσεις αὐτοῖς ὑπερασπισμὸν καρδίας μόχθον σου αὐτοῖς
to give: give to/for them covering heart curse your to/for them
66 καταδιώξεις ἐν ὀργῇ καὶ ἐξαναλώσεις αὐτοὺς ὑποκάτω τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κύριε
to pursue in/on/with face: anger and to destroy them from underneath: under heaven LORD
