< Ἰώβ 41 >
1 ἄξεις δὲ δράκοντα ἐν ἀγκίστρῳ περιθήσεις δὲ φορβεὰν περὶ ῥῖνα αὐτοῦ
Will you draw out? Leviathan with a fish hook and with a cord will you hold down? tongue its.
2 εἰ δήσεις κρίκον ἐν τῷ μυκτῆρι αὐτοῦ ψελίῳ δὲ τρυπήσεις τὸ χεῖλος αὐτοῦ
¿ Will you put a cord in nose its and with a hook will you pierce? jaw its.
3 λαλήσει δέ σοι δεήσει ἱκετηρίᾳ μαλακῶς
¿ Will it multiply to you supplications or? will it speak to you soft [words].
4 θήσεται δὲ διαθήκην μετὰ σοῦ λήμψῃ δὲ αὐτὸν δοῦλον αἰώνιον
¿ Will it make a covenant with you will you take? it to a slave of perpetuity.
5 παίξῃ δὲ ἐν αὐτῷ ὥσπερ ὀρνέῳ ἢ δήσεις αὐτὸν ὥσπερ στρουθίον παιδίῳ
¿ Will you play with it like bird and will you bind? it for girls your.
6 ἐνσιτοῦνται δὲ ἐν αὐτῷ ἔθνη μεριτεύονται δὲ αὐτὸν φοινίκων γένη
Will they bargain? on it partners will they divide? it between merchants.
7 πᾶν δὲ πλωτὸν συνελθὸν οὐ μὴ ἐνέγκωσιν βύρσαν μίαν οὐρᾶς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν πλοίοις ἁλιέων κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ
¿ Will you fill with harpoons hide its and with a spear of fish head its.
8 ἐπιθήσεις δὲ αὐτῷ χεῖρα μνησθεὶς πόλεμον τὸν γινόμενον ἐν σώματι αὐτοῦ καὶ μηκέτι γινέσθω
Put on it hands your remember [the] battle may not you repeat.
9 οὐχ ἑόρακας αὐτὸν οὐδὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς λεγομένοις τεθαύμακας
There! hope his it is proved a lie ¿ also because of appearance its everyone is thrown down.
10 οὐ δέδοικας ὅτι ἡτοίμασταί μοι τίς γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ἐμοὶ ἀντιστάς
Not fierce that he will rouse it and who? that before me will he take his stand.
11 ἢ τίς ἀντιστήσεταί μοι καὶ ὑπομενεῖ εἰ πᾶσα ἡ ὑπ’ οὐρανὸν ἐμή ἐστιν
Who? has he confronted me and I may repay under all the heavens [belongs] to me it.
12 οὐ σιωπήσομαι δῑ αὐτόν καὶ λόγον δυνάμεως ἐλεήσει τὸν ἴσον αὐτοῦ
(To it *Q(K)*) I will keep silent limbs its and [the] matter of strength and [the] grace of arrangement its.
13 τίς ἀποκαλύψει πρόσωπον ἐνδύσεως αὐτοῦ εἰς δὲ πτύξιν θώρακος αὐτοῦ τίς ἂν εἰσέλθοι
Who? has he uncovered [the] surface of clothing its in [the] doubling of halter its who? will he come.
14 πύλας προσώπου αὐτοῦ τίς ἀνοίξει κύκλῳ ὀδόντων αὐτοῦ φόβος
[the] doors of Face its who? has he opened [is] around teeth its terror.
15 τὰ ἔγκατα αὐτοῦ ἀσπίδες χάλκειαι σύνδεσμος δὲ αὐτοῦ ὥσπερ σμιρίτης λίθος
Pride [is] rows of shields shut up a seal tight.
16 εἷς τοῦ ἑνὸς κολλῶνται πνεῦμα δὲ οὐ μὴ διέλθῃ αὐτόν
One on one they draw near and a breath not it goes between them.
17 ἀνὴρ τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ προσκολληθήσεται συνέχονται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποσπασθῶσιν
Each on brother its they are joined together they grasp one another and not they are separated.
18 ἐν πταρμῷ αὐτοῦ ἐπιφαύσκεται φέγγος οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ εἶδος ἑωσφόρου
Sneezing its it flashes forth light and eyes its [are] like [the] eyelids of dawn.
19 ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύονται λαμπάδες καιόμεναι καὶ διαρριπτοῦνται ἐσχάραι πυρός
From mouth its torches they go sparks of fire they escape.
20 ἐκ μυκτήρων αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύεται καπνὸς καμίνου καιομένης πυρὶ ἀνθράκων
From nostrils its it goes forth smoke like a pot blown upon and bulrush[es].
21 ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ ἄνθρακες φλὸξ δὲ ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύεται
Breath its coals it kindles and a flame from mouth its it goes forth.
22 ἐν δὲ τραχήλῳ αὐτοῦ αὐλίζεται δύναμις ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ τρέχει ἀπώλεια
In neck its it lodges strength and before it it leaps dismay.
23 σάρκες δὲ σώματος αὐτοῦ κεκόλληνται καταχέει ἐπ’ αὐτόν οὐ σαλευθήσεται
[the] hanging parts of Flesh its they cling hard to it not it is moved.
24 ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ πέπηγεν ὡς λίθος ἕστηκεν δὲ ὥσπερ ἄκμων ἀνήλατος
Heart its [is] hard like a stone and hard like a mill-stone lower.
25 στραφέντος δὲ αὐτοῦ φόβος θηρίοις τετράποσιν ἐπὶ γῆς ἁλλομένοις
From uprising its they are afraid mighty ones from crashing they are bewildered.
26 ἐὰν συναντήσωσιν αὐτῷ λόγχαι οὐδὲν μὴ ποιήσωσιν δόρυ ἐπηρμένον καὶ θώρακα
[one who] reaches It a sword not it is established a spear a dart and a javelin.
27 ἥγηται μὲν γὰρ σίδηρον ἄχυρα χαλκὸν δὲ ὥσπερ ξύλον σαθρόν
It considers to straw iron to wood of rottenness bronze.
28 οὐ μὴ τρώσῃ αὐτὸν τόξον χάλκειον ἥγηται μὲν πετροβόλον χόρτον
Not it makes flee it [the] son of a bow into chaff they are changed for it stones of a sling.
29 ὡς καλάμη ἐλογίσθησαν σφῦραι καταγελᾷ δὲ σεισμοῦ πυρφόρου
Like chaff they are regarded a club so it may laugh to [the] shaking of a javelin.
30 ἡ στρωμνὴ αὐτοῦ ὀβελίσκοι ὀξεῖς πᾶς δὲ χρυσὸς θαλάσσης ὑπ’ αὐτὸν ὥσπερ πηλὸς ἀμύθητος
Under it [are] sharp points of potsherd[s] it spreads out a threshing sledge on mud.
31 ἀναζεῖ τὴν ἄβυσσον ὥσπερ χαλκεῖον ἥγηται δὲ τὴν θάλασσαν ὥσπερ ἐξάλειπτρον
It makes boil like pot [the] deep [the] sea it makes like pot of ointment.
32 τὸν δὲ τάρταρον τῆς ἀβύσσου ὥσπερ αἰχμάλωτον ἐλογίσατο ἄβυσσον εἰς περίπατον
Behind it it makes shine a path anyone considers [the] deep to grey hair.
33 οὐκ ἔστιν οὐδὲν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὅμοιον αὐτῷ πεποιημένον ἐγκαταπαίζεσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν ἀγγέλων μου
Not [is] on [the] dust likeness its the [one] made for not fear.
34 πᾶν ὑψηλὸν ὁρᾷ αὐτὸς δὲ βασιλεὺς πάντων τῶν ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν
Every exalted [one] it sees it [is] king over all [the] sons of pride.
