Ἰεζεκιήλ 37
1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ’ ἐμὲ χεὶρ κυρίου καὶ ἐξήγαγέν με ἐν πνεύματι κύριος καὶ ἔθηκέν με ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ πεδίου καὶ τοῦτο ἦν μεστὸν ὀστέων ἀνθρωπίνων
There has been a hand of YHWH on me, and He takes me forth in [the] Spirit of YHWH, and places me in the midst of the valley, and it is full of bones,
2 καὶ περιήγαγέν με ἐπ’ αὐτὰ κυκλόθεν κύκλῳ καὶ ἰδοὺ πολλὰ σφόδρα ἐπὶ προσώπου τοῦ πεδίου ξηρὰ σφόδρα
and He causes me to pass over by them, all around, and behold, very many [are] on the face of the valley, and behold—very dry.
3 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου εἰ ζήσεται τὰ ὀστᾶ ταῦτα καὶ εἶπα κύριε σὺ ἐπίστῃ ταῦτα
And He says to me, “Son of man, do these bones live?” And I say, “O Lord YHWH, You have known.”
4 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ ταῦτα καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτοῖς τὰ ὀστᾶ τὰ ξηρά ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου
And He says to me, “Prophesy concerning these bones, and you have said to them, O dry bones, hear a word of YHWH!
5 τάδε λέγει κύριος τοῖς ὀστέοις τούτοις ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ φέρω εἰς ὑμᾶς πνεῦμα ζωῆς
Thus said Lord YHWH to these bones: Behold, I am bringing a spirit into you, and you have lived,
6 καὶ δώσω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς νεῦρα καὶ ἀνάξω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς σάρκας καὶ ἐκτενῶ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς δέρμα καὶ δώσω πνεῦμά μου εἰς ὑμᾶς καὶ ζήσεσθε καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος
and I have given sinews on you, and cause flesh to come up on you, and covered you over with skin, and given a spirit in you, and you have lived, and you have known that I [am] YHWH.”
7 καὶ ἐπροφήτευσα καθὼς ἐνετείλατό μοι καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐμὲ προφητεῦσαι καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμός καὶ προσήγαγε τὰ ὀστᾶ ἑκάτερον πρὸς τὴν ἁρμονίαν αὐτοῦ
And I have prophesied as I have been commanded, and there is a noise as I am prophesying, and behold, a rushing, and the bones draw near, bone to its bone.
8 καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐπ’ αὐτὰ νεῦρα καὶ σάρκες ἐφύοντο καὶ ἀνέβαινεν ἐπ’ αὐτὰ δέρμα ἐπάνω καὶ πνεῦμα οὐκ ἦν ἐν αὐτοῖς
And I beheld, and behold, sinews [are] on them, and flesh has come up, and skin covers them over above—and there is no spirit in them.
9 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με προφήτευσον υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ εἰπὸν τῷ πνεύματι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐκ τῶν τεσσάρων πνευμάτων ἐλθὲ καὶ ἐμφύσησον εἰς τοὺς νεκροὺς τούτους καὶ ζησάτωσαν
And He says to me: “Prophesy to the Spirit, prophesy, son of man, and you have said to the Spirit, Thus said Lord YHWH: Come in from the four winds, O Spirit, and breathe on these slain, and they live.”
10 καὶ ἐπροφήτευσα καθότι ἐνετείλατό μοι καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς αὐτοὺς τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ ἔζησαν καὶ ἔστησαν ἐπὶ τῶν ποδῶν αὐτῶν συναγωγὴ πολλὴ σφόδρα
And I have prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit comes into them, and they live, and stand on their feet—a very, very great force.
11 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρός με λέγων υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου τὰ ὀστᾶ ταῦτα πᾶς οἶκος Ισραηλ ἐστίν καὶ αὐτοὶ λέγουσιν ξηρὰ γέγονεν τὰ ὀστᾶ ἡμῶν ἀπόλωλεν ἡ ἐλπὶς ἡμῶν διαπεφωνήκαμεν
And He says to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they are saying, Our bones have dried up, And our hope has perished, We have been cut off by ourselves.
12 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀνοίγω ὑμῶν τὰ μνήματα καὶ ἀνάξω ὑμᾶς ἐκ τῶν μνημάτων ὑμῶν καὶ εἰσάξω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ισραηλ
Therefore, prophesy, and you have said to them, Thus said Lord YHWH: Behold, I am opening your graves, And have brought you up out of your graves, O My people, And brought you into the land of Israel.
13 καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ἐν τῷ ἀνοῖξαί με τοὺς τάφους ὑμῶν τοῦ ἀναγαγεῖν με ἐκ τῶν τάφων τὸν λαόν μου
And you have known that I [am] YHWH, In My opening your graves, And in My bringing you up out of your graves, O My people.
14 καὶ δώσω τὸ πνεῦμά μου εἰς ὑμᾶς καὶ ζήσεσθε καὶ θήσομαι ὑμᾶς ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος λελάληκα καὶ ποιήσω λέγει κύριος
And I have given My Spirit in you, and you have lived, And I have caused you to rest on your land, And you have known that I, YHWH, have spoken, and I have done [it], A declaration of YHWH.”
15 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
16 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου λαβὲ σεαυτῷ ῥάβδον καὶ γράψον ἐπ’ αὐτὴν τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ τοὺς προσκειμένους ἐπ’ αὐτόν καὶ ῥάβδον δευτέραν λήμψῃ σεαυτῷ καὶ γράψεις αὐτήν τῷ Ιωσηφ ῥάβδον Εφραιμ καὶ πάντας τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ τοὺς προστεθέντας πρὸς αὐτόν
“And you, son of man, take one stick for yourself, and write on it, For Judah, and for the sons of Israel, his companions; and take another stick, and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of Israel, his companions,
17 καὶ συνάψεις αὐτὰς πρὸς ἀλλήλας σαυτῷ εἰς ῥάβδον μίαν τοῦ δῆσαι αὐτάς καὶ ἔσονται ἐν τῇ χειρί σου
and bring them near to one another, to you, for one stick, and they have become one in your hand.
18 καὶ ἔσται ὅταν λέγωσιν πρὸς σὲ οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ λαοῦ σου οὐκ ἀναγγελεῖς ἡμῖν τί ἐστιν ταῦτά σοι
And when sons of your people speak to you, saying, Do you not declare to us what these [are] to you?
19 καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ λήμψομαι τὴν φυλὴν Ιωσηφ τὴν διὰ χειρὸς Εφραιμ καὶ τὰς φυλὰς Ισραηλ τὰς προσκειμένας πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ δώσω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τὴν φυλὴν Ιουδα καὶ ἔσονται εἰς ῥάβδον μίαν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ Ιουδα
Speak to them, Thus said Lord YHWH: Behold, I am taking the stick of Joseph, that [is] in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions, and have given them to him, with the stick of Judah, and have made them become one stick, and they have been one in My hand.
20 καὶ ἔσονται αἱ ῥάβδοι ἐφ’ αἷς σὺ ἔγραψας ἐπ’ αὐταῖς ἐν τῇ χειρί σου ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν
And the sticks on which you write have been in your hand before your eyes,
21 καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτοῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ λαμβάνω πάντα οἶκον Ισραηλ ἐκ μέσου τῶν ἐθνῶν οὗ εἰσήλθοσαν ἐκεῖ καὶ συνάξω αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν περικύκλῳ αὐτῶν καὶ εἰσάξω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ισραηλ
and speak to them, Thus said Lord YHWH: Behold, I am taking the sons of Israel, From among the nations to where they have gone, And have gathered them from all around, And I have brought them into their land.
22 καὶ δώσω αὐτοὺς εἰς ἔθνος ἓν ἐν τῇ γῇ μου καὶ ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν Ισραηλ καὶ ἄρχων εἷς ἔσται αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται ἔτι εἰς δύο ἔθνη οὐδὲ μὴ διαιρεθῶσιν οὐκέτι εἰς δύο βασιλείας
And I have made them become one nation in the land, on mountains of Israel, And one king is to them all for king, And they are no longer as two nations, Nor are they divided anymore into two kingdoms again.
23 ἵνα μὴ μιαίνωνται ἔτι ἐν τοῖς εἰδώλοις αὐτῶν καὶ ῥύσομαι αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν ἀνομιῶν αὐτῶν ὧν ἡμάρτοσαν ἐν αὐταῖς καὶ καθαριῶ αὐτούς καὶ ἔσονταί μοι εἰς λαόν καὶ ἐγὼ κύριος ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς εἰς θεόν
Nor are they defiled anymore with their idols, And with their abominations, And with any of their transgressions, And I have saved them out of all their dwellings, In which they have sinned, And I have cleansed them, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for God.
24 καὶ ὁ δοῦλός μου Δαυιδ ἄρχων ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν καὶ ποιμὴν εἷς ἔσται πάντων ὅτι ἐν τοῖς προστάγμασίν μου πορεύσονται καὶ τὰ κρίματά μου φυλάξονται καὶ ποιήσουσιν αὐτά
And My servant David [is] king over them, And they all have one shepherd, And they go in My judgments, And they keep My statutes, and have done them.
25 καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν ἣν ἐγὼ δέδωκα τῷ δούλῳ μου Ιακωβ οὗ κατῴκησαν ἐκεῖ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς αὐτοί καὶ Δαυιδ ὁ δοῦλός μου ἄρχων αὐτῶν ἔσται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
And they have dwelt on the land that I gave to My servant, to Jacob, In which your fathers have dwelt, And they have dwelt on it, they and their sons, And their son’s sons—for all time, And My servant David [is] their prince for all time.
26 καὶ διαθήσομαι αὐτοῖς διαθήκην εἰρήνης διαθήκη αἰωνία ἔσται μετ’ αὐτῶν καὶ θήσω τὰ ἅγιά μου ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
And I have made a covenant of peace with them, It is a perpetual covenant with them, And I have placed them, and multiplied them, And placed My sanctuary in their midst for all time.
27 καὶ ἔσται ἡ κατασκήνωσίς μου ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς θεός καὶ αὐτοί μου ἔσονται λαός
And My dwelling place has been over them, And I have been to them for God, And they have been to Me for a people.
28 καὶ γνώσονται τὰ ἔθνη ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ ἁγιάζων αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ εἶναι τὰ ἅγιά μου ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
And the nations have known that I, YHWH, am sanctifying Israel, In My sanctuary being in their midst for all time!”
