1 ὢν ὀκτὼ ἐτῶν Ιωσιας ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν καὶ τριάκοντα ἓν ἔτος ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ

[was] a son of Eight years Josiah when became king he and thirty and one year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem.

2 καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδοῖς Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν δεξιὰ καὶ ἀριστερά

And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he walked in [the] ways of David ancestor his and not he turned aside right and left.

3 καὶ ἐν τῷ ὀγδόῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς ἔτι παιδάριον ἤρξατο τοῦ ζητῆσαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἤρξατο τοῦ καθαρίσαι τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ τῶν ὑψηλῶν καὶ τῶν ἄλσεων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν χωνευτῶν

And in eight years of reigning his and he still he [was] a youth he began to seek [the] God of David ancestor his and in two [plus] ten year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem from the high places and the Asherah poles and the idols and the molten images.

4 καὶ κατέσπασεν κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ τὰ θυσιαστήρια τῶν Βααλιμ καὶ τὰ ὑψηλὰ τὰ ἐπ’ αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκοψεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ καὶ τὰ χωνευτὰ συνέτριψεν καὶ ἐλέπτυνεν καὶ ἔρριψεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τῶν μνημάτων τῶν θυσιαζόντων αὐτοῖς

And people pulled down before him [the] altars of the Baals and the incense altars which [were] upwards above them he cut down and the Asherah poles and the idols and the molten images he broke in pieces and he pulverized [them] and he sprinkled [them] on [the] surface of the graves who sacrificed to them.

5 καὶ ὀστᾶ ἱερέων κατέκαυσεν ἐπὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ ἐκαθάρισεν τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ

And [the] bones of priests he burned on (altars their *Q(K)*) and he cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

6 καὶ ἐν πόλεσιν Εφραιμ καὶ Μανασση καὶ Συμεων καὶ Νεφθαλι καὶ τοῖς τόποις αὐτῶν κύκλῳ

And in [the] cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon and to Naphtali (in [the] hill country of with swords their *Q(K)*) all around.

7 καὶ κατέσπασεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ τὰ εἴδωλα κατέκοψεν λεπτὰ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑψηλὰ ἔκοψεν ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς γῆς Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ

And he pulled down the altars and the Asherah poles and the idols he crushed to pulverize and all the incense altars he cut down in all [the] land of Israel and he returned to Jerusalem.

8 καὶ ἐν τῷ ὀκτωκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ καθαρίσαι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὸν οἶκον ἀπέστειλεν τὸν Σαφαν υἱὸν Εσελια καὶ τὸν Μαασιαν ἄρχοντα τῆς πόλεως καὶ τὸν Ιουαχ υἱὸν Ιωαχαζ τὸν ὑπομνηματογράφον αὐτοῦ κραταιῶσαι τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ

And in year eight-teen of reigning his to cleanse the land and the house he sent Shaphan [the] son Azaliah and Maaseiah [the] official of the city and Joah [the] son of Joahaz the recorder to repair [the] house of Yahweh God his.

9 καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Χελκιαν τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν καὶ ἔδωκαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσενεχθὲν εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ ὃ συνήγαγον οἱ Λευῖται φυλάσσοντες τὴν πύλην ἐκ χειρὸς Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ καὶ τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς καταλοίπου ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ υἱῶν Ιουδα καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ οἰκούντων ἐν Ιερουσαλημ

And they went to Hilkiah - the priest great and they gave the money which had been brought [the] house of God which they had gathered the Levites [the] keepers of the threshold from [the] hand of Manasseh and Ephraim and from all [the] remnant of Israel and from all Judah and Benjamin (and they returned of *Q(K)*) Jerusalem.

10 καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ἐπὶ χεῖρα ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα οἱ καθεσταμένοι ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ποιοῦσι τὰ ἔργα οἳ ἐποίουν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ἐπισκευάσαι κατισχῦσαι τὸν οἶκον

And they gave [it] on [the] hand of [the] doer of the work who were appointed in [the] house of Yahweh and they gave it [the] doers of the work who [were] working in [the] house of Yahweh to mend and to repair the house.

11 καὶ ἔδωκαν τοῖς τέκτοσι καὶ τοῖς οἰκοδόμοις ἀγοράσαι λίθους τετραπέδους καὶ ξύλα εἰς δοκοὺς στεγάσαι τοὺς οἴκους οὓς ἐξωλέθρευσαν βασιλεῖς Ιουδα

And they gave [it] to the craftsmen and to the builders to buy stones of hewing and wood for the clamps and to make beams for the houses which they had ruined [the] kings of Judah.

12 καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες ἐν πίστει ἐπὶ τῶν ἔργων καὶ ἐπ’ αὐτῶν ἐπίσκοποι Ιεθ καὶ Αβδιας οἱ Λευῖται ἐξ υἱῶν Μεραρι καὶ Ζαχαριας καὶ Μοσολλαμ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Κααθ ἐπισκοπεῖν καὶ πᾶς Λευίτης πᾶς συνίων ἐν ὀργάνοις ᾠδῶν

And the men [were] working in faithfulness in the work and over them - [were] appointed Jahath and Obadiah the Levites of [the] descendants of Merari and Zechariah and Meshullam of [the] descendants of the Kohathites to act as overseers and the Levites every [one who] was skilled in instruments of song.

13 καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν νωτοφόρων καὶ ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα ἐργασίᾳ καὶ ἐργασίᾳ καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν Λευιτῶν γραμματεῖς καὶ κριταὶ καὶ πυλωροί

[were] over The burden-bearers and [were] acting as overseers of every doer of work for labor and labor and some of the Levites [were] scribes and officials and gatekeepers.

14 καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐκφέρειν αὐτοὺς τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσοδιασθὲν εἰς οἶκον κυρίου εὗρεν Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς βιβλίον νόμου κυρίου διὰ χειρὸς Μωυσῆ

And when brought out they the money which had been brought [the] house of Yahweh he found Hilkiah the priest [the] scroll of [the] law of Yahweh by [the] hand of Moses.

15 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Χελκιας καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Σαφαν τὸν γραμματέα βιβλίον νόμου εὗρον ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν Χελκιας τὸ βιβλίον τῷ Σαφαν

And he answered Hilkiah and he said to Shaphan the scribe [the] scroll of the law I have found in [the] house of Yahweh and he gave Hilkiah the scroll to Shaphan.

16 καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Σαφαν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἀπέδωκεν ἔτι τῷ βασιλεῖ λόγον πᾶν τὸ δοθὲν ἀργύριον ἐν χειρὶ τῶν παίδων σου τῶν ποιούντων τὸ ἔργον

And he brought Shaphan the scroll to the king and he brought back again the king a word saying all that it was given in [the] hand of servants your they [are] doing.

17 καὶ ἐχώνευσαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπὶ χεῖρα τῶν ἐπισκόπων καὶ ἐπὶ χεῖρα τῶν ποιούντων ἐργασίαν

And they have poured out the money which was found in [the] house of Yahweh and they have put it on [the] hand of those [who] were appointed and on [the] hand of [the] doers of the work.

18 καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν Σαφαν ὁ γραμματεὺς τῷ βασιλεῖ λέγων βιβλίον ἔδωκέν μοι Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεύς καὶ ἀνέγνω αὐτὸ Σαφαν ἐναντίον τοῦ βασιλέως

And he told Shaphan the scribe to the king saying a scroll he has given to me Hilkiah the priest and he read aloud in it Shaphan before the king.

19 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τοὺς λόγους τοῦ νόμου καὶ διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ

And it was when heard the king [the] words of the law and he tore clothes his.

20 καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Χελκια καὶ τῷ Αχικαμ υἱῷ Σαφαν καὶ τῷ Αβδων υἱῷ Μιχαια καὶ τῷ Σαφαν τῷ γραμματεῖ καὶ τῷ Ασαια παιδὶ τοῦ βασιλέως λέγων

And he commanded the king Hilkiah and Ahikam [the] son of Shaphan and Abdon [the] son of Micah and - Shaphan the scribe and Asaiah [the] servant of the king saying.

21 πορεύθητε ζητήσατε τὸν κύριον περὶ ἐμοῦ καὶ περὶ παντὸς τοῦ καταλειφθέντος ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα περὶ τῶν λόγων τοῦ βιβλίου τοῦ εὑρεθέντος ὅτι μέγας ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἐκκέκαυται ἐν ἡμῖν διότι οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν τῶν λόγων κυρίου τοῦ ποιῆσαι κατὰ πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τούτῳ

Go consult Yahweh for me and for the remnant among Israel and among Judah on [the] words of the scroll which it has been found for [is] great [the] anger of Yahweh which it has been poured out on us on that not they took care ancestors our [the] word of Yahweh to observe according to every [thing] written on the scroll this.

22 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Χελκιας καὶ οἷς εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ολδαν τὴν προφῆτιν γυναῖκα Σελλημ υἱοῦ Θακουαθ υἱοῦ Χελλης φυλάσσουσαν τὰς στολάς καὶ αὕτη κατῴκει ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν μασανα καὶ ἐλάλησαν αὐτῇ κατὰ ταῦτα

And he went Hilkiah and [those] whom the king to Huldah the prophetess [the] wife of - Shallum [the] son of (Tokhath *Q(K)*) [the] son of Hasrah [the] keeper of the garments and she [was] dwelling in Jerusalem in the second district and they spoke to her like this.

23 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ εἴπατε τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ ἀποστείλαντι ὑμᾶς πρός με

And she said to them thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel say to the man who he sent you to me.

24 οὕτως λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον τοὺς πάντας λόγους τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῷ ἀνεγνωσμένῳ ἐναντίον τοῦ βασιλέως Ιουδα

Thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to bring harm on the place this and on inhabitants its all the curses which are written on the scroll which people have read aloud before [the] king of Judah.

25 ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ἐθυμίασαν θεοῖς ἀλλοτρίοις ἵνα παροργίσωσίν με ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐξεκαύθη ὁ θυμός μου ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται

Because - that they have forsaken me (and they have made smoke *Q(K)*) to gods other so as to provoke to anger me by all [the] works of hands their so it may pour forth rage my on the place this and not it will be quenched.

26 καὶ ἐπὶ βασιλέα Ιουδα τὸν ἀποστείλαντα ὑμᾶς τοῦ ζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον οὕτως ἐρεῖτε αὐτῷ οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἤκουσας

And to [the] king of Judah who sent you to consult Yahweh thus you will say to him. Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel the words which you have heard.

27 καὶ ἐνετράπη ἡ καρδία σου καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἀπὸ προσώπου μου ἐν τῷ ἀκοῦσαί σε τοὺς λόγους μου ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐτὸν καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἐναντίον μου καὶ διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου καὶ ἔκλαυσας κατεναντίον μου καὶ ἐγὼ ἤκουσά φησιν κύριος

Because it was soft heart your and you humbled yourself - from to before God when hearing you words his on the place this and on inhabitants its and you humbled yourself before me and you tore clothes your and you wept before me and also I I have heard [the] utterance of Yahweh.

28 ἰδοὺ προστίθημί σε πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ προστεθήσῃ πρὸς τὰ μνήματά σου ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς κακοῖς οἷς ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέδωκαν τῷ βασιλεῖ λόγον

Here I [will] gather you to ancestors your and you will be gathered to grave your in peace and not they will look eyes your on all the distress which I [am] about to bring on the place this and on inhabitants its and they brought back the king word.

29 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ συνήγαγεν τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ

And he sent the king and he gathered all [the] elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

30 καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς οἶκον κυρίου καὶ πᾶς Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μεγάλου ἕως μικροῦ καὶ ἀνέγνω ἐν ὠσὶν αὐτῶν τοὺς πάντας λόγους βιβλίου τῆς διαθήκης τοῦ εὑρεθέντος ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου

And he went up the king [the] house of Yahweh and every person of Judah and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and the priests and the Levites and all the people from great and unto small and he read aloud in ears their all [the] words of [the] scroll of the covenant which had been found [the] house of Yahweh.

31 καὶ ἔστη ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τὸν στῦλον καὶ διέθετο διαθήκην ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ πορευθῆναι ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ καὶ προστάγματα αὐτοῦ ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐπὶ τῷ βιβλίῳ τούτῳ

And he stood the king at place his and he made the covenant before Yahweh to walk after Yahweh and to keep commandments his and testimonies his and statutes his with all heart his and with all being his to observe [the] words of the covenant which was written on the scroll this.

32 καὶ ἔστησεν πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ διαθήκην ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου θεοῦ πατέρων αὐτῶν

And he made stand every [one who] was found in Jerusalem and Benjamin and they did [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem according to [the] covenant of God [the] God of ancestors their.

33 καὶ περιεῖλεν Ιωσιας τὰ πάντα βδελύγματα ἐκ πάσης τῆς γῆς ἣ ἦν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐποίησεν πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐν Ισραηλ τοῦ δουλεύειν κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν κυρίου θεοῦ πατέρων αὐτοῦ

And he removed Josiah all the abominations from all the lands which [belonged] to [the] people of Israel and he made to serve every [one who] was found in Israel to serve Yahweh God their all days his not they turned aside from after Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
