Luka 6
1 Mi fuodima daali dayenli Jesu n den tagi ki ki poandi ŋalikama kuani nni, o ŋoadikaaba den jobidi ŋalikama siandi ki nugi ki ŋmani.
One Sabbath Jesus was walking through cornfields, and his disciples were picking the ears of wheat, and rubbing them in their hands, and eating them.
2 Falisieninba bi tianba den yedi ba: “Be n teni ke yi tiendi yaala n kua mi fuodima daali?”
‘Why are you doing what it is not allowable to do on the Sabbath?’ asked some of the Pharisees.
3 Jesu den goa ki yedi ba: “Naani yii cogi Dafidi n den tieni yaala mi koma n den cuo o, wani leni yaaba n den ye leni o kuli yoo,
Jesus’ answer was, ‘Haven’t you read even of what David did, when he was hungry, he and his companions –
4 ke o kua U Tienu diegu nni ki taa dupen bilikoa ki ŋmani, baa ke li kua nitoa kuli n ŋmani dupen yeni li yaa tie kopadicianba yaaka? Ama Dafidi den taa ki ŋmani ki teni yaaba n yegi leni o moko.”
That he went into the house of God, and took the consecrated bread and ate it, and gave some to his companions, though only the priests are allowed to eat it?’
5 Jesu go den yedi ba: “O Joa Bijua n die mi fuodima daali.”
Then Jesus added, ‘The Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.’
6 Mi fuodima daali datoali Jesu den kua li balimaama bangima dieli nni ki bangi bi niba U Tienu maama. O joa den ye likani ke o jienu kuodi.
On another Sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and taught; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
7 Li balimaama bangikaaba leni falisieninba den kpaagi Jesu ki baa le o ya baa paagi o mi fuodima daali, ke ban baa ban baa fidi ki kuli o leni yaala.
The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely, to see if he would work cures on the Sabbath, so that they might find a charge to bring against him.
8 Jesu den bani ban bungi yaala ki yedi yua ya nu n kuodi: “Fii ki sedi siiga nne.” O den fii ki sedi.
Jesus, however, knew what was in the their minds, and said to the man whose hand was withered, ‘Stand up and come out into the middle.’ The man stood up;
9 Jesu den yedi ba: “N buali yi naani li pia u sanu tin tieni yaala n ŋani bi yaala n bia mi fuodima daali, ki faabi o nilo bi, ki bolini o yo?”
and Jesus said to them, ‘I ask you, is it allowable to do good on the Sabbath – or harm? To save a life, or let it perish?’
10 O den diidi ki lindi bi kuli ki yedi: O joa yeni: “tandi a nuu.” O den tandi u ke u paagi.
Then, looking round at them all, he said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ The man did so; and his hand had become sound.
11 Bi pala den beni ŋali ke li pendi, ke bi juogi leni biyaba ban baa tieni Jesu yaala.
But the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees were mad with rage, and consulted together what they could do to Jesus.
12 Laa yogunu Jesu den gedi li juali po ki baan jaandi. O den tieni ñamungu ki jaandi U Tienu.
Now about that time, Jesus went out, up the hill, to pray, and spent the whole night in prayer to God.
13 Lan den fii ki fa o den yini o ŋoadikaaba, ki gandi bi siiga nni piiga n niba lie, ki yini ba bi tondiba.
When day came, he summoned his disciples, and chose twelve of them, whom he also named “apostles.”
14 Bi yela n tie na: Simono, Jesu n den yini yua Pieli leni o waalo Andile, leni Jaka leni Jan, leni Filipi leni Batelemi,
They were Simon (whom Jesus also named Peter), and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,
15 leni Matiyu leni Toma, leni Alife bijua Jaka leni Simono, ban den yi yua o yankuadaano,
Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon known as the Zealot,
16 leni Jaka bijua Jude, leni Judasa Isikalioto yua n den ti tua i janbi daano.
Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who proved a traitor.
17 Jesu den jiidi li juali po leni ba, ki sedi u tialu po. O ŋoadikaaba toaba boncianla den ye li kani. Nitoaba moko den wuli ki ladi li kani, ki ñani Jedu nni kuli, leni Jelusalema, leni Tili leni Sidomi, ya dogu n baali mi ñincianma. Bi kuli den cua ki bua ki gbadi o maama, ki go bua wan paagi ba bi yiani po.
Afterwards Jesus came down the hill with them and took his stand on a level place. With him were a large crowd of his disciples, and great numbers of people from the whole of Judea, Jerusalem, and the coast district of Tyre and Sidon,
18 Mu cicibiadimu n den ye yaaba ya niinni ki yagini bi yama moko den paagi.
who had come to hear him and to be restored to health. Those, too, who were troubled with foul spirits were cured;
19 Ku niligu siiga yua kuli den moandi ki bua ki sii o kelima u paalu den ña o niinni ki paagidi bikuli.
and everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him, because a power went out from him which restored them all.
20 Lani Jesu den yaadi ki diidi o ŋoadikaaba ki yedi: “Li pamanli ye leni yinba yaaba n tie a luoda kelima U Tienu diema tie yi yaama. Li pamanli ye leni yinba, mi koma n pia yaaba moala kelima yi baa guo.
Then, raising his eyes and looking at his disciples, Jesus said: ‘Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Li pamanli ye leni yinba yaaba n buudi moala na, kelima yi baa ti ya laa.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
22 Li pamanli ye leni yimo bi niba ya nani yi, ki deli yi ki ñandi bi siiga, ki sugidi yi, ki sengi yi nani ti bonjoagindi yeni kelima o Joa Bijua yaapo.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they expel you from among them, and insult you, and reject your name as an evil thing – because of the Son of Man.
23 Li ya tua yipo yeni ya daali, yin mangi mani yi pala ki ya yugi ki ciini li pamanli po kelima ya panpaani n bili yipo tanpoli po yaba. Kelima bi yaajanba moko den tuuni bi sawalipuaba yene.
Then indeed you may be glad and dance for joy, for be sure that your reward in heaven will be great; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets.
24 Ama fala baa ye leni yinba a piada, kelima yi mali ki baa yi yemanma no.
But alas for you who are rich, for you have had your comforts in full.
25 Fala baa ye leni yinba yaaba n pia ke li kandi moala na kelima mi koma baa ti gbadi yi. Fala baa ye leni yinba yaaba n laa ti laadi moala na, kelima yi pala baa ti boandi yin ya mua ti ninsiidi.
Alas for you who are sated now, for you will hunger. Alas for you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
26 Fala baa ye leni yi bi niba kuli ya ti pagi yi, bi yaajanba moko den pagi bi sawalipua-faadanba yene.
Alas for you when everyone speaks well of you; for this is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.
27 Yinba yaaba n cengi n maama, n yedi line: ya bua mani yi yibalinba, ki ya tiendi yaala n ŋani yaaba n nani yi po.
But to you who hear I say – love your enemies, show kindness to those who hate you,
28 Ya gaaliti mani yaaba n solini yi ki ya jaandi yaaba sugidi yi po.
bless those who curse you, pray for those who insult you.
29 Nilo ya pabi a kpianyendu po, ŋan pegidi ki teni o une mo. Nilo ya fie a liadicianli, ŋan da yie ke o kan ga a liaditediga mo.
When someone gives one of you a blow on the cheek, offer the other cheek as well; and, when anyone takes away your cloak, do not keep back your coat either.
30 Pa yua n mia ŋa kuli. Nilo ya fie ŋa ŋan die yaala, da goa ki buali o la.
Give to everyone who asks of you; and, when anyone takes away what is yours, do not demand its return.
31 Yin ya tiendi bi niba po nani yin bua ban ya tiendi yipo maama.
Do to others as you wish them to do to you.
32 Yi ya bua yaaba n bua yi, bi baa pagi yi yeni mo lede? Baa ti tuonbiadi danba moko bua yaaba n bua ba.
If you love only those who love you, what thanks will be due to you? Why, even the outcast love those who love them!
33 Yi ya ŋanbidi yaaba n ŋanbidi yipo yaapo, bi baa pagi yi yeni mo lede? Ti tuonbiadi danba moko tiendi yene.
For, if you show kindness only to those who show kindness to you, what thanks will be due to you? Even the outcast do that!
34 Yi ya ledi yin daani ke yaaba n baa goa ki pa yi yi ligi, bi baa pagi yi yeni mo lede? Ti tuobiadanba moko ledi bi tuonbia-danlieba bi ligi, ke ban goa ki pa ba.
If you lend only to those from whom you expect to get something, what thanks will be due to you? Even the outcast lend to the outcast in the hope of getting as much in return!
35 Ama yin ya bua mani yi yibalinba, ya ŋanbidi mani bi niba po, ki ya ledi ba ki da daani ke yi baa goa ki ga bi kani liba. Yeni yi panpaani baa yaba, yi baa tie U Tienu yua n ye ŋali tanpolijoma bila, kelima wani, o ŋanbidi bi ŋanwaadanba leni bi nibiadiba kuli po.
But love your enemies, and show them kindness, and lend to them, never despairing. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the thankless and the bad.
36 Yin ya tiendi mani mi ŋanma nani yi Baa moko n tiendi mi ŋanma maama yeni.
Learn to be merciful – even as your Father is merciful.
37 Yin da ja mani ti buudi ke U Tieni n da ti jia leni yimo ti buudi. Yin da bu ki cuo oba ke ban da bu ki cuo yimo. Lani bi kan jia ki bili yimo ya cuonu. Ya tiendi mani yi nisaalilieba po sugili bi tagili po, Lani bi baa tieni yimo yaapo sugili yi ya tagili po.
Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
38 Ya puuni mani, lani bi baa puuni yimo ki bigidi yipo bonŋanla, ki ñiigi ki yegini ki kuodi ŋali lan cuudi. Bi baa taa yin bigidi nitoaba po leni ya bonbiigikaala, ki biigi yimo yaapo.”
Give, and others will give to you. A generous measure, pressed and shaken down, and running over, will they pour into your lap; for the standard you use will be the standard used for you.’
39 Jesu den pua ba mi kpanjama ki yedi: “Naani o juamo baa fidi ki dadi o juana bii? Bani niba lie yeni kuli kan baa ku buogu nnii?
Then, speaking in parables, Jesus said, ‘Can one blind person guide another? Will they not both fall into a ditch?
40 O ŋoadikoa ki cie o canbaa, ama ya ŋoadikoa n bangi ki gbeni, o baa naani leni o canbaa.
A student is not above their teacher; yet every finished student will be like their teacher.
41 Be yaapo ke a nua ya muagu n ye a lielo nunbu nni, ki naa nua ya dajengu n ye a yaabu nni?
And why do you look at the speck of sawdust in someone’s eye, while you pay no attention at all to the plank of wood in your own?
42 Liga lede ke a baa yedi a kpiilo: 'N kpiilo, cedi min ñani ya muagu n ye a nunbu nni,' fini yua n ki nua ya dajengu n duogi a yaabu nni? Fini pala lie daano, ŋan kpa ñani ya dajengu n duogi a ya nunbu nni, lane a baa fidi ki la bonŋanla ŋan baa ñandi ya muagu n ye a lielo yaabu nni maama.
How can you say to your friend “Friend, let me take out the speck in your eye,” while you yourself do not see the plank in your own? Hypocrite! Take out the plank from your own eye first, and then you will see clearly how to take out the speck in your friend’s.
43 Tiŋanbu kan luoni ya bonluonkaala n ki ŋani. Ya tibu n ki ŋani mo kan luoni ya bonluonkaala n ŋani.
There is no such thing as a good tree bearing worthless fruit, or, on the other hand, a worthless tree bearing good fruit.
44 Bi bandi tibu kuli kelima bu bonluonkaala poe. Bi kan sobidi a kankana ku konkongu po, bi kan go sobidi i cabi bu kpatanluanbu po.
For every tree is known by its own fruit. People do not gather figs off thorn bushes, nor pick a bunch of grapes off a bramble.
45 O niŋamo ñandi o pali bonŋanla nni yaala n ŋani, o nibiado mo ñandi o bonbiadila nni yaala n bia, kelima o nilo maadi yaala n gbie o pali nne.
A good person, from the good stores of their heart, brings out what is good; while a bad person, from their bad stores, brings out what is bad. For what fills someone’s heart will rise to their lips.
46 Be n teni ke yi yii nni: 'O Diedo, o Diedo,' ki naa tiendi min yedi yaala?
Why do you call me “Master! Master!” and yet fail to do what I tell you?
47 N baa waani yi yua n cua n kani ki gbadi n maama ki tieni min yedi yaala kuli n naani leni yua.
Everyone who comes to me and listens to my teaching and acts on it – I will show you to whom they may be compared.
48 O tie nani ya nilo n den bua ki maa li dieli. O den gbiidi ŋali ke li ñuagi ki pundi ku tangu, ki pu li tanpuuli ku yaapo ki maa o dieli. Li ñingocianli n den cua ki puubi ki tugi li dieli yeni, maa den fidi ki ŋmiagi li kelima li den maa ku tangu po.
They may be compared to a person building a house, who dug, and went deep, and laid the foundation on the rock. Then, when a flood came, the river swept down on that house, but had no power to shake it, because it had been built well.
49 Ama yua n gbadi n maama ki naa tieni man yedi yaala, omo tie nani ya nilo n maa li dieli ki naa kpa gbiidi ki pu li tanpuuli, ama ki pu ku tanbiigu po. Li ñingocianli n den puubi ki tugi li ya yogunu liga, li den baa. Li diali yeni mudima den bia.”
But those who have listened and not acted on what they have heard may be compared to a person who built a house on the ground without any foundation. The river swept down on it, and the house immediately collapsed; and great was the crash that followed.’
