< 1 Kolinta 8 >

1 Moala yaala n tie ti padinanidi po. Yi tua: «Tikuli pia mi bandima.» Mi bandima kpendinni ti japaadi, ama mi buama todi mi kpedima li dandanli nni.
And concerning sacrifices to idols, we know, that in all of us there is knowledge; and knowledge inflateth, but love edifieth.
2 O nilo ya tama ke o bani li bonla, o daa bandi nani lan pundi wan bandi maama
And if any one thinketh that he knoweth any thing he knoweth nothing yet, as he ought to know it.
3 . Ama yua n bua U Tienu kuli, U Tienu mo bani wane.
But if any one loveth God, that man is known of him.
4 To, moala n baa madi ti padinandi maama. Ti bani ke bulo naa ye handuna nni se U Tienu yendo bebe n ye.
As to the eating of the sacrifices of idols, therefore, we know that an idol is nothing in the world; and that there is no other God, but one.
5 Kelima baa ke ban yi yaala i buli yaba lan tie tanpoli bi ki tinga nni, li tie moamoani ke i buli yaba ke bi diediba moko yaba.
For although there are what are called gods, whether in heaven, or on earth, (as there are gods many, and lords many, )
6 Ama tinba wani yaapo Tienu yendu bebe n ye, yua n tie baa. O den tagi li bonla kuli, tinba mo ye o yaapo. Diediyendo bebe moko n ye, Jesu Kilisiti, li bonla n den tagi kelima o yaapo ti moko ye kelima o yaapo.
yet to us, on our part, there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord, Jesus the Messiah, by whom are all things, and we also by him.
But there is not this knowledge in every man; for there are some, who, to the present time, in their conscience, eat it as an offering to idols; and because their conscience is weak, it is defiled.
8 To, laa tie mi jiema ka baa teni tin nagini U Tienu. Ti yaa dini li kan wadi tipo liba, ti ya dini mo, li kan pugini ti liba.
But food doth not bring us near to God; for if we eat, we do not abound; and if we eat not, we are not in want.
9 Ama yin fangi mani yi yula ke yin pia u sanu ki tieni yaala n da tua tanduudikaali yaaba n tadi yaapo.
See to it, however, lest this your authority become a stumbling-block to the weak.
10 Kelima o nilo ya laa ke fini yua n pia mi bandima ka li budieli nni ki di ti padinandi, wani yua ya pali siedi n tadi, li kan teni wan baa li papali ki hmani ti padinandi yoo?
For if one should see thee in whom there is knowledge, reclining in the temple of idols, will not his conscience, seeing he is a weak person, be encouraged to eat what is sacrificed?
11 Lanwani a kpiilo yua tadi, wani kilisiti n den kpe yua yaapo baa bodi kelima a bandima yaapo.
And by thy knowledge, he who is feeble, and on account of whom the Messiah died, will perish.
12 Yi ya dudi yi kpiiba po yeni, ki lengidi bi pali siedi yaali n tadi, yi tudi kilisiti po.
And if ye thus sin against your brethren, and wound the consciences of the feeble, ye sin against the Messiah.
13 Lanwani jiemaba ya baa guli n kpiilo, n kan go je laa jiema hali abada, ke min da guli kpiilo. (aiōn g165)
Wherefore, if food is a stumbling-block to my brother, I will for ever eat no flesh, lest I should be a stumbling-block to my brother. (aiōn g165)
