1 Yin moandi mani ki ya pia mi buama. Yin ya lingi mani U tienu fuoma paabu moko, ama yin ya lingi mani mi mawangima ya pabu ki cie.
Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
2 Kelima yua n maadi mi malanma, waa maadi leni bi niba, o maadi leni U tiene, kelima niloba kuli ki gba wan tua yaala. U tienu fuoma paabu n teni ke o maadi U tienu bondoaginkaala.
For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
3 Ama yua n wangi U tienu n yedi o yaala maadi leni bi niba, ki todi ba ke bi suagi liiga, ki tundi ba ki go paagidi bi pala, ki baagi baa mo.
But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation.
4 Yua n maadi mi malanma todi o yuli bebe. Ama yua n wangi U tienu n yedi o yaala todi Kilsiti n yini yaaba kuli
He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.
5 N bua ke yikuli ya maadi mi malanma, ama n bua yin ya wangi U tienu n yedi yaala ki cie. Yua n wangi U tienu yedi yaala cie yua n maadi mi malanma, li yaa tie ke o soagini wan yedi yaala ke Kilisiti n yini yaaba n baa mi tdodima lienni yaaka.
Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but even more that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.
6 N kpiiba, li baa pia yipo bee fuome n ya cua yikani ki maadi yi mi malanma, ki naa doagidi yipo bondoaginkaalaba, yaaka bandimaba, yaaka U tienu n yedi yaala, yaaka bangimaba?
But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?
7 Baa ya bonla n kaa fo ki nan pia u nialu nani ki yeliga leni ku kogidigu, li ya tiendi ya fuugi n kaa pia gbadima, bi niba baa ga lede ki bandi ban piebi yaala, bi ban pua yaala?
Even lifeless things that make a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?
8 Yua n piebi kakaci yaa piebi ke li gagidi bu toabu po, hme n baa bandi ki bogini bu toabu po?
For if the shofar gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?
9 Likuli tie yenma leni yinba. Yi ya maadi mi malanma kaa maadi ban baa fidi ki gbadi yaala, bi baa gbadi yin maadi yaala lede? yi baa maadi mi fawaama nni bebe.
So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.
10 Baa ke i mabuoli yaaba handuna nni, ya maama n ki pia budima ki ye.
There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without meaning.
11 O nlio ya maadi min kaa bani ya mabuolu, n baa ya tie opo nilamo, o moko baa ya tie n po nilamo.
If then I don’t know the meaning of the language, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.
12 Lanwani yinba mo, kelima yi lingi U tienu fuoma paabu leni li yankuali, lan ya tie Kilisiti n yini yaaba todima po yo ke yi linga ki baa boncianla.
So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.
13 Lanyaapo, yua n maadi mi malanma n mia U tienu wan pa o wan fidi ki bundi wan yedi yaala.
Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.
14 Kelima n ya jaandi ki maaadi mi malanma n pali ye i jaandi nni ama n yantiali naa ye lienni.
For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 Lanwani n baa tieni lede? N baa jaandi len U tienu fuoma, ama n baa jaandi leni n yantiali mo.
What should I do? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 A ya tuondi U tienu a pali nni, yua n kua yi nitanli nni ki naa bani laa bonla baa ga lede ki ga “Amina” kelima o naa banni han tua yaala?
Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say?
17 Moamoani a tuondi U tienu bonhanla, ama laa todi a lielo wan suagi.
For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.
18 N tuondi U tienu ke n maadi mi malanma ki cie yikuli.
I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.
19 Ama Kilisiti n yini yaaba siiga, n ya maadi maama mmu ke mi pia mi bundima ki baa fidi ki bangi nitoaba, lani n cie npo min maadi malanma maama tudapiiga.
However, in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
20 N kpiiba da kpaagi mani nani a biwaala yeni. Li bonbiadila yaapo, yin ya tie nani a canpanda yeni, ama yi kpaagili nni yin ya tie nani binikpeliba yeni.
Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.
21 I Diani waani ke o diedo yedi mine: «N baa soani nibuotoe n niba kani, ki teni bi nilanba n maadi ba mi maalanma, ki ya wangi ba n maama. Baa yeni bi kan cengi n maama.»
In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”
22 Lanwani mi maaalanma tie sinankeeni yaaba n daa tuo ki daani po yaapo, maa tie yaaaba n daani yaapo, ama mi mawangima tie sinankeeni yaaba n tuo ki daani yaapo.
Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.
23 Lanwani Kilisiti n yini yaaba kuli ya taani ki maadi mi malanma, yaaba kaa bani laa bonla leni yaaba n daa tuo ki daani ya kua yi siiga baa baa yedi ke yi gaadi kaa?
If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?
24 Ama li ya tie ke bikuli wangi U tienu maama ke yua ki tuo ki daani bi yua bani kua yi siiga, li baa doagidi opo ke o tie ti tuonbiadi daano, wan gbadi yaala baa cuo o pali.
But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
25 Yaala n wuo o pali nni kuli baa wuodi. Lanwani o baa labini U tienu nintuali ki kpiagi o li yedi ke U tienu ye yi siiga moamoani.
And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is amongst you indeed.
26 N kpiiba ti baa tieni lede? Yi ya taani, one baa pia bu yanbu, one pia mi bangima, one mi doagima, one mi malanma, one ma malanma soaginma. Likuli n tieni ke Kilisiti n yini yaaba n baa mi todima.
What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.
27 Li ya tie ke bi niba cili ki maadi mi malanma, niba lie, bi niba taa, baa fidi ki maadi yendo yendo ki hoadi biyaba, niyendo mo soagini.
If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
28 Li yaa pia yua baa soagini yua n bua maadi mim malanma ya hmini Kilisiti nitaanli nni, ki maadi ma o yuceli po leni U tienu po
But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.
29 U tienu mawangikaaba moko, niba lie, yaaka niba taa, n ya wangi U tienu maama, yaaba n sieni ya bigidi ban yieni yaala.
Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.
30 Yaaba n ka ki cengi yeni siiga, niyendo ya baa doagima, yua bi kpa maadi n hmni
But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.
31 Yi kuli baa fidi ki waani U tienu maama yendo yendo ki hoadi yiyaba, ke yi kuli baa mi bangima leni i tundi U tienu sanhoadima nni.
For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.
32 Bi mawangikaaba n die bi yama,
The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,
33 kelima U tienu naa tie sindi sindi Tienu kaa. Nani lan tie maama bi nigagidihanba taana kuli nni,
for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the holy ones.
34 li pundi bi puoba n ya hmni a taana nni, kelima baa pia sanu ki maadi lienni. Ama ban ya miindi bi yula nani li balimaama moko n bili maama.
Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,
35 Bi ya bua ki bandi bonlaba, kali ban buali bi ciaba bi denpo, kelima laa pundi o pua maadi Kilisiti n yini yaaba siiga.
if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”
36 U Tienu maama den ñiani hi ya kani yo? Bi mi den cua yinba bebe ya kani yoo?
What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?
37 Niloba ya tama ke o tie mawangika, bi ke U Tienu Fuoma ye o niinni, wan faami bonhanla ke min diani yipo yaala na tie o Diedo ñoabonli.
If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognise the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
38 O ya yie kaa tuo, cedi o mani.
But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Lanwani n kpiiba ya kuandi mani yi yama ki bua ki baa ki ya wangi U tienu maama. Yin da yie mi malanma maama mo.
Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don’t forbid speaking with other languages.
40 Ama li bonla kuli n ya tiendi ke li hua li fuuli, ki da cuoni sisindi sindi
Let all things be done decently and in order.
